Well they'll still get randomly generated only the map will be generated the same for everyone (basically how the Prismatic Trials from Risk of Rain 2 work. Same map seed for everyone, and then resets to a new one after a while). At least that's my take on it. It could be just random for everyone but limited to the amount of times you can run it.

This is correct. Same seed for everyone, so cave layout and monster pool should be the same. Spawn & timing will vary, so gameplay wise it's not a 1:1 experience.

Thanks for the update!! 25 sounds pretty amazing. Going to add my feedback here.

- Deep Dives: LOVE IT. This smacks of the instances of the MMORPG's of old. Just what we need!

- "Batteries": I'm glad you put this in quotes, it's feeling a little forced to me. Too.... anthrocentric. I fear this has the ability to detract from some of the core mystique of a mission, and that is the feeling of _exploring_. Why are we finding batteries way down deep in the planet where no one has ever been before? How did they get there? Why are the batteries down there, but machines are on regular shallow missions? I understand that you need something to activate the machine encounters.... but, can we maybe agree that it could be something like "core diamonds" retrieved from the crust/mantle boundary of Hoxxes IV - real exotic treasure? I feel like that would scratch the mining itch better anyway.

And for "Machine Encounters", if I find someone else's "machine" that was left down here, then it makes me feel like I'm not the first dwarf to set foot in this particular cave. The "machines" - can they become ancient alien technology that is activated by the core diamonds? This enhances the discovery/exploration feeling, since "holy shit ancient artifact that no one has ever seen". Also gives a better explanation as to why the blueprints are exciting and must be quested for - because ALIEN TECH. Can't buy these blueprints on the open market!

Maybe this is more along the lines of what you have planned anyway (*crosses fingers*) but just wanted to throw it in here.

- Overclock mods: so hot

- Vanity items: awesome

- I really hope we get some new minerals and some more varied permutations of how they appear!

Don't worry. It should fit in the games lore-wise. It's not going to be a "fresh apple on a mummified corpse in an ancient tomb" kinda thing.

For some reason I thought the deep dives update was going to be this week.

Pretty long wait but as long as the content is good I don’t mind waiting.

Sorry :D

Do not attempt a Deep Dive on your own or while ill-prepared

Now that’s just asking for a player to do exactly that when this comes out.

We're not stopping you, but we're also not paying for the funeral.

Could someone post an Imgur screenshot of this for those of us at work and unable to access steam?

Sadly no. Military firewalls are exceedingly prohibitive of pretty much everything gaming related. :P

Well then, here you go. All images and the entire post. https://imgur.com/a/w51bwCY

Hi all,
We hoped to get a FAQ out today (Tuesday) on Update 25. But all your good questions, relevant concerns, and thoughtful comments have re-ignited the design team, so it might take a few more days. No reasons to tell you something that will change again in a day!
In any case, we expect Update 25 to have a huge impact on the game, so we will keep iterating until we reach the best possible experience.

Keep the feedback flowing!

So no endgame for solo players? Why?

:(

There will be. We just don’t recommend it.

Eh, for someone who isn't that good at the game this basically means the same.

Reading this subreddit, one gets the impression that the game cannot be difficult enough for the majority of players. But then I look at the server browser and see so many haz2/3 lobbies.

Mediocre players need an endgame, too. And just 'gitting gud' isn't really an option if you have only limited free time you can dedicate to gaming.

We get that. There’ll be two Deep Dives each week, one “hard” and one “normal”. You’ll also get rewards for partial completion, so you should definitely still be able to enjoy the Endgame.

We’ll post some answers to the questions people have had very soon. Designing this is a very iterative process, so we’re constantly adapting the design when issues show up.

Also, you’ll get to redo Deep Dives for the entire week until you get the rewards.
