One of the highlight of the DRG gameplay loop for me is the end of the match where you call the drop pod for escape/extraction. The amazing music start playing, all of you all starting running to it or if you are confused just stay with Molly and if someone got fallen behind, the entire team go back to save them or if only guy is still alive, he would be forced to leaves the other 3 behind. This is make some of the best memories and moment of playing DRG for me, it's so adrenaline pumping and even in the case you don't get to the escape, the mission would still be consider an success, is just that you don't get the survivor bonus which in all honesty is not that big of a deal imo so doing the escape is just pure fun and chaos.
The problem is that, ever since the quick extraction/escape trick got discovered and got popular, practically every match i hosted/joined use them and that simply just removed a core enjoyable experience of DRG for me. No more adrenaline pumping action of rushing to the drop pod with your team with awesome music in the bg anymore, no more last minute rescue, no more moment of desperation and anxeity of watching the last dwarf trying to get to the drop pod while everyone is down anymore. That excitement is gone for the majority of matches i play now.
While i understand why people would do it, espcially on high difficulty mission like Elite Deep Dive or just Haz 5 mission or they deliberately just want to Speedrun the mission. Again, that is basically removing an core part of the gameplay just for the sake of gameplay efficiency/meta and even on higher difficulty, normal extraction maybe even more fun due to the higher risk/
And the problems as well is that the majority of people voted to do it as well so often time i am the odd one out in the entire team and of course i can't be dick and complain about it in a match while the other 3 want to do it so i have to follow through with it. And for those who is thinking "well, just play solo then ?", this is a CO-OP game and DRG is imo, the best CO-OP game ever, especially with pub matches being significantly better than any other CO-OP game i have played so i simply enjoy playing MP with other people than to play solo with Bosco (even tho Bosco is GOATED af)
I don't know how long until the dev patch this out (or even if ever) and i'm not praying for it to get patched out because like i said it's a valid thing to do in quite a few situation but imo, that come at a cost of actual enjoyment of the game and the fact that the majority of the matches i play it nowadays use it make me a little bit sad.
I would like to hear you guy's opinion on this because i feel like it might be a mixed feeling sort of situation and considering just how prevalent the trick are, i feel like i am in the minority of just wanting to get to the extraction/escape the normal way.
To sorta explain what the bug is: it’s something you do that make it so the drop pod drop directly where you are standing
Note: Idk if this help or not but i play on Asia server , specifically SEA region so there maybe a different in how frequently the trick is use depend on where you are playing the game
