[2020] XP hack/Glitch?

Hi I'm a new player here with my level 14 Engineer. I joined this guy server mid-game and it was very laggy. Luckily the mission was almost over so I stayed. But after the mission I got like a gazillion points and it instantly maxed my engineer level to 25. Is this a glitch or a hack? I hope I don't get in any trouble. Also I felt like I was robed because I was enjoying the grinding. D:
