Obviously, they sound awesome. Flying through the cave, reaching hard-to-get resources, avoiding bugs with ease…

But that’s just the thing. Deep Rock Galactic is balanced around its often difficult to navigate terrain, and having to turn and face the swarm chasing you.

With rocketboots, terrain becomes an absolute non-issue, and you can just… Walk away from any bug in the game.

Scout and Gunner in particular loses a good chunk of their purpose when rocketboots are in the equation, since their utility skills become unneeded.

It’s good that they won’t be in every mission. I hope that missions involving rocketboots also have special terrain generation to make better use of the mechanic- Specifically, much more vertical, spacious cavegen.

This is why they are rare. They are not meant to be a huge gamechanger or to be planned around. They are meant to be a nice bonus for that particular mission you find them in.

There is not presently going to be new terrain just to accomodate the boots - they are meant to be used in the standard terrain they are found in.
