I'm Filipino (Philippines). We speak our dialects 90% of the time on chat. And simple conversations or basic instructions we use that are very faaaaaaaaaaaar from cursing or anything to do with banned words get filtered VERY GENEROUSLY our chats look like a sea of ############

Examples:

"Papuntang first plate" = ######## first plate / "papuntang" meaning "on the way" or "towards""
Tanggalin mo ang buff" = ######## mo ang buff / "tanggalin" meaning remove*"
Reload lang ng destiny"* = Reload #### ## ###### / "lang" "ng" are very very common words in our language, censcored? "lang" means "only" and "ng" is "and"

and many many many many more examples I can't write them all down here.

and actual swear or offensive words aren't filtered for example: "Pota ka bobo" or "Bobo mo gago".

Our clan and fireteam chats are filled with ###### we have to resort to weird spellings to make chat comms work. I have spoken to other members of Philippine clans and players they share the same sentiment.

Turn it off for PH players Bungie or roll it back to the old chat filters. It's ruining our experience.

Edit: Let me explain why the filter is stupid for clarity:

Example: The actual swear word that is supposed to be filtered is "Puta/Pota" (wh*re) and the common swear expression is "Putang/Potang ina" (Your mother is a wh*re). Bungie is filtering everything with "tang" which has nothing to do with the root word "Pota". "-ang" is just a SUFFIX attached to almost a ton of other words in our language so it messes up regular normal conversation.

Imagine banning the suffix -ed in English

Thanks for your feedback. We recognize that players chatting in their native dialects is important and will continue working to improve our filters and accommodate more players. In the initial rollout, we focused primarily on the 13 languages and dialects officially supported by Destiny 2. For more information, please visit our text-based language filtering FAQ. We'll update it as we develop the filters and notify players of key changes in the weekly article This Week In Destiny, found on our News page.
