I took screenshots of 5 games, these are all within a pretty close time period of ~24h. They are all in 3v3 pickup, so no teaming or anything like that. There's no excuse for it to not be even. Every single one of these games went exactly how you'd expect, the higher ranked ones win. I removed names and avatars out of respect for their privacy.
GAME 1: https://i.imgur.com/kNEmhUN.jpg
Three people with same rank, against three people against three people with same but higher rank.
GAME 2: https://i.imgur.com/Ws1s6xf.jpg
Two "higher" ranked in each team to balance it out, but one unranked in one team.
GAME 3: https://i.imgur.com/Z3AZbK2.jpg
Two (!) higher ranked vs one lower ranked, and three unranked.
Game 4: https://i.imgur.com/tu9GdXP.jpg
Two (!) ranked people + one unranked against 3 unranked (!).
GAME 5: https://i.imgur.com/Su64vrf.jpg
Two people in each team share same rank, then it's unranked in one team and very high ranked in the other team.
My theory is that it has a hidden mmr system but it swings too wildly, especially for unranked people. It feels like that they might get a win or two in their first matches, then it puts them way higher compared to their skill and ruin higher games. It's not only me who have noticed this, a lot of people have shared their frustration ingame too.
