An earlier mock up of what we are going for

The new queue system might be done by the weekend-ish. If it takes a little longer, its my fault for adding a pickup system to the list. I wanted to share the early design to get some pre ship feedback in-case you think we are headed in the wrong direction

Daily playlist:

It's not really daily... :) Duel has to stay. but the other modes should rotate daily between our most popular modes in their respective category. Card 1: Arcade modes (instagib, ffa etc). Card 2: team modes, card 3: aim modes. These modes won't be continuous. So you will get a little rank icon for that mode. Not sure how great this is, but let us know when you start using it :)

Community Matches:

Exposing the community matches more prominently may help players find each other and encourage others to create games.

Pickup system:

This is quite experimental. You can create pickups using our default rule sets for certain game modes, (wipeout, ft, tdm, ext, ctf, mac etc). As you play pickups you will get an ELO per game mode. Meaning when you create a pickup you can set min-max join ELO. Thus having a little control over what kind of pickup it is (high skill, low skill, open etc).

Pickups have traditionally been solo only, we want to allow the pickup host to be able to set if its solo or party join avail.

The pickup system will need a decent amount of work in the future i'm sure. But hopefully its a welcomed addition to Diabotical.

Conclusion:

The changes being made should give a lot more transparency and control to the community. So later I can blame you guys for the queues! ;) especially if I let people vote on the daily playlist. Then your donzo!
