949s ore which means it can also be used in

955s research and it has recipes for crushing

960s tier and the output being coal and some
963s crushed mixed
965s Rock and this then has the fuel capacity
969s and is usable as a burnable fuel as well
971s as having a coal
978s tag can do that maybe I don't

1167s mebe me just eating Shard food that's 11
1171s days until I hit any kind of level up to

1177s profession uh I think mathematically you
1180s can push if you really really go for
1184s like the best food at any given stage
1186s and you really push your house to be you
1189s know amazing and super um you can
1191s probably hit like five stars by the end
1192s of the cycle I
1194s think compared to the seven you can kind
1198s of Breeze up to
1199s in the standard

2917s bit tricky at the moment but uh it's
2920s high on priorities in terms of animal
2924s things with animals that needs fixing

2927s say um any gameplay plans for weather

2932s um we got weather weather visually now
2936s um so weather actually generates and you
2938s can see rain and like storms and and
2940s whatnot happen

316s starting few minutes ago on white tiger
320s which is our kind of bigger customized

325s running um kind of default stock things
327s it has a pre-made government and we can
329s kind of go over some of that when uh
333s when we jump into it so just gonna pop
336s in here right away with our new Avatar
340s Creator um since I haven't really set up
343s an avatar I'd like to
346s use um it's one of the uh one of the key
349s features among many for update
352s 10 um if you haven't kept track on
355s what's going on or what we're
357s doing um the Avatar is now created on
360s the client side which means it's
361s retained in memory in between server
365s joins and launches so you can create
367s your avatar it's stored
370s locally and when you join a server
373s you're no longer prompted to create the
374s character on on that server join it will
377s just grab the Avatar that you have saved
378s if you then do edits to your avatar in
380s terms of outfits and whatnot you join on
382s separate server it'll use that new
384s information that you stored but it won't
387s alter the outfits on that server because
390s that server already has all that data
392s generated and stored so um if you want
395s to do changes to your
397s character um on the existing server you
400s get to use one of the ways of doing so
403s which is the dressers and it has some
406s implementation for um Avatar
409s edits which is also where you can go to
412s change out outfits and and so
414s on um yeah just kind of hammering away

421s figuring out what I want to have Avatar
424s wise uh not a whole lot to it you
429s know um most of the options originally
434s here now is things that we've had before
436s in the old Avatar
438s Builder but it
441s is kind of separating it out from the
443s service stuff making it clean nice
447s on um away from the server data
450s originally to make sure that you don't
452s have to recreate your avatar or recreate
454s your color choices every single time um
458s just increasing that quality of life a
460s bit do I want to have a belt I want to
462s have a tool belt we get a brown brown
467s darkish leathery thing here going
472s on and then we also did a revamp of the
474s backpacks the backpacks now look really

481s clean as you can see you can change out

563s the starter the the starter outfits and

566s debating whether or not we want these to

570s um craftable or not if we want to keep
572s them unique as kind of the starter

1497s grown over the years as Tiger has been
1499s more and more polished over what it can
1501s do with law and

1507s um it can be quite bulky to kind of
1509s figure out what's going on and and and
1512s you know what you're what is going where
1514s and how things are going and and so on
1517s so white tiger is for anyone that is
1520s just hopping on and um getting into
1523s tiger um it has a what's referred to as
1526s a Ubi or a universal basic
1530s income so when in this case here when a
1534s game master is
1535s initializing Ubi it will start to record
1538s kind of custom statistics which is then
1542s used um it's gained on you gain a stat
1547s for logging in and then it kind of
1548s tracks and pays you by um hourly rate
1552s for a basic
1555s income you can help players
1559s get some basic moies to be able to kind
1562s of sustain themselves in buying Basic
1564s Foods um as that's another big kind of
1567s hot potato on tiger where do I want to
1570s set on the camp just just flat down here

1939s professions to needing specific or a
1943s large slash good enough house to do the
1945s labor of those types as well

1950s mining hunting Butchery farming campfire
1953s cooking or any of the unskilled kind of
1955s labers um has no nutrient Gates which is
1958s amazing for me because my intention was
1960s to go
1962s farming however I will need some if I
1965s want to expand on and do fertilizer
1967s which means I'll need to be hitting that
1968s 24 nutrition at the
1972s minimum um and note that these are all
1976s these gates are some something that we
1978s can do due
1979s to
1981s Thomas's
1983s um expansion on some of the U the Civic

2119s of these and more upgrades are
2122s coming as a lot of assets have been
2124s built and been added over the course of
2127s the years and E has been in development
2129s for a
2130s while um you know they've been getting
2134s better at fitting things in
2137s and seeing what works what doesn't work
2140s um it's also a huge pass on uh
2143s optimizing the assets as
2145s well so a lot of kind of creating the
2149s individual pieces and then compiling
2151s them together to make them use the same
2155s kind of textures and the same pool of
2158s things so when you have you know four
2160s workbenches you don't have four unique
2162s workbenches you have four identical
2164s workbenches with the same things on them
2167s so they can just use less memory um
2172s which is something that will we're
2173s moving forward with Post 10 things and
2175s just keep improving and
2181s optimizing here we got some some cooked
2184s meat switch over to some uh
2191s some Tomatoes as well to get some some
2193s Diet in
2196s there taking a chunky bite
2200s here uh and then we are going to keep
2204s hammering away the
2205s trees and our goal
2209s being General gold next is going to be a

37s kind of last last um big teory change
42s before uh we can start really kind of
45s just adjust and tweak the the the final
48s numbers for from my side on the tech
50s tree um yeah I'm just going to cut

55s think uh so we are in the middle of the

64s so uh play test as as per those who have
69s been here before um we are working on
72s the update 10 or for the people that
75s haven't been here um might not be
78s completely up to date to to what exactly
80s is going on we're running a play test on
82s white tiger which is our more
86s custom Uh custom moderated and uh
91s conceptual um official um server that we
95s have that uh is running a kind of preset
99s government and preset laws that handles
100s a lot uh a pretty big encompassing
103s Constitution that regulates

112s uh can
114s of just do cover your kind of basic
117s rights and your your Universal income
119s and and so on so forth they kind of keep
121s the economy flowing and um Tigers
125s specific kind of take on how Education
127s and Research
128s works so that's kind of white tiger uh
131s white white tiger Peak Eco gameplay um
135s it hasn't been completely without its
137s flaws and it's also been in the long
139s term of
141s making
143s um um like a a few common questions we
146s get regarding to bigger play tests or in
149s regards to tiger and you know why it's
153s such a good place to be and or use for
155s play tests and so on so
157s forth It's because we're using a lot
160s more of the Civic systems than your
161s average server would normally be exposed
163s to without dedicated people that help
167s navigate the jungle of U the Civic
172s architecture um and it can get very
175s in-depth very
176s complicated uh but it can also be very
178s lightweight depending on what you're
180s trying to accomplish with it tiger is
182s really designed to push the limits and
184s borders of those
187s systems and it's done so phenomenally
191s and even more so with the Civics that
194s all the um settlements changes that
196s we've done in 10 that really
200s allows servers like this um because
203s there are a few more servers that are
205s bigger that try to kind of accomplish
207s the same things um in some way shape or
212s form and the whole separation and and
215s granularity of civics has just
217s allowed um tiger to really shine on what
220s it's trying to do and I'm really looking
222s forward to seeing
225s what um how that will affect the servers
228s when they finally get their hands on the
231s update and kind of seeing how the
233s community takes shapes in these um in
236s these other
239s servers
243s so we left off trying to form a town we
247s unfortunately didn't managed to do that
249s not a whole lot of people kind of
251s settled in the area um people did start
255s to pop up towns as we left off
258s and um they sort of congregated to those
262s areas with those town to going to get
263s their influence but we have the area we
266s were thinking of building a town is
267s still pretty
269s open
270s and
272s unfortunately we had uh uh domers
276s masonry and apartments joined up with
279s Unica which is the state surrounding the
282s capital on the tiger server right
287s now I was hoping to be able to pull him
289s in and and kind of create a town and
291s then just subjugate under the country as
294s a town but
297s um yeah plans are plans and until they
300s no longer work I
303s guess um when does the big announcement
305s happen today it is going to be at
309s around uh 2:00 p.m. Eastern
312s which would be
315s um 8:00 in Central
320s Europe so in about 50
325s minutes
326s and yeah I think there's nothing to it
330s um I'm renting I'm renting a house from

335s here so I'm getting some housing points
338s without actually having a house which is
340s nice and something I strongly recommend
342s for anyone that feels that they don't
344s have time to keep building and expanding

349s building and more of the other aspects
351s of the game um just find a place to rent

541s desert biome plots as well as Oaks and
544s yosua but that also hinges on us getting
547s a hold of a third

634s you know you can ask your server manager
636s or host or or whatever to review and
640s change those based on the preferences of
643s your community or you know the the
646s network of friends you have around you
648s and here we have a bit of

657s um and it is being SL slly replaced by
660s tier 2 material now that we start to see

2192s and um creating amazing amazing
2195s societies but also creating absolute
2197s chaos um when they get their hands on it

2207s I've been I've been looking at it and
2209s and kind of testing out to see like if
2212s we extended the
2214s deconstruction to say um something like
2217s the the excavator or or so on to just
2219s kind of like tear down a building
2221s quickly or so on
2224s um would be interesting to see but then
2228s you know from

2234s um oh
2237s yeah yeah know right now in this in this
2239s playthrough uh on the you know in this
2242s cycle um I have my set of goals and that
2245s was mainly to just do some farming set
2248s that up and just help provide some
2250s background resources um for the General
2254s market and just not stressing out and

2260s getting the really into the knitting
2263s gritty of like the industrial
2265s progression and so on so I'm
2268s not overly super revolved into what's
2273s going on in terms of like how the
2275s mechanics are doing how much are the
2276s smelters you know spending time and and
2278s how much ore are they getting and and so

2295s working on it so you know that takes
2299s that takes its fair share of

2320s uh think that one day the game will run
2323s on Unreal Engine five no I don't think
2326s that it's going to happen since the game
2327s is building
2328s unity and making a complete porting it
2332s over into unreal would basically re be
2334s rewriting the game from scratch um so no
2338s I I don't see that
2342s happening are we going to need to take
2345s care of those as well maybe maybe not
2349s can we dismantle all the way out there
2350s no we're going to need to cut down at
2352s least a
2356s branch we take that
2359s down and then we cut that

2370s if this hampers the growth of the trees

2382s um but instead having things destroy
2384s into the person's inventory let them

2410s brings into does it make sense out of
2412s gameplay things would I rather have like

2422s know if you have your wooden Shack and
2424s you want to replace it into this new
2426s fancy TI two or even tier three and do
2429s like concrete and and so on and do like
2430s an actual complete overhaul and upgrade
2432s of the
2433s building would it be more fun to just
2436s you know destroy it like
2440s actually you know mince it to the ground
2442s and it's all a pile of rubble and you
2444s just scoop it up
2447s um which would allow you to kind of re
2450s deconstruct and reconstruct quickly but
2452s you destroy a large bulk bulk of the
2454s materials as you're doing it
2458s um versus something where you know you'd
2460s always get the return material which
2462s isn't necessarily good for the economy
2465s because you have less Decay less loss of
2467s material so there's less need for
2470s consumption which is good out of an
2472s ecological aspect of it but it's also
2475s contradictory to the economy drive of a
2481s server and the cats are are causing
2483s absolute havoc in the background here
2485s so
2487s maybe
2489s slightly slightly distracted every now
2491s and
2494s then uh almost have the house completely
2497s deconstructed so
2504s not we have a a few glitches with the
2507s hammer which you probably have
2510s noticed um if you've been testing out
2512s the
2513s build and that is sometimes it uh
2518s you could have a halfway house 50%
2520s chance of picking up the
2521s material um yeah the the
2525s so the way that would have to work is
2530s basically the shance roll would happen
2532s on the
2536s destruction
2538s um so you know anything that's on the
2540s ground would be pickable basically um
2545s but it it it it's not possible um and
2548s we'll see what happens I've got some
2550s I've got some changes coming for mining
2552s that I have planned for 10.1
2555s um and it'll offer some possibilities to
2560s some extent to look into
2562s that but we'll see you know anything is
2566s anything is possible everything is
2568s possible um there's a lot more content
2571s to EOP plan Post 10 um so you know we'll
2575s see what happens in the future
2581s uh talked with a lot of different
2582s communities around Eon and think animals
2584s should behave aggressive to put the
2586s healing system as a
2588s professional there there are some innate
2591s problems with
2593s that um out of a design
2596s perspective I know like
2599s generally damage um health
2604s and um a lot of those things things have
2607s been kind of subjects that keep cropping
2610s up every now and then
2612s and um while
2615s Eco is sort of in the branch together
2619s with Survival Games as a
2622s whole um so if you're looking at for
2627s example
2630s um what we what do we want to take for
2632s example like seven days to die or U you
2635s know Minecraft or or whichever else kind
2637s of voxal block type building worlds
2640s where you have more of a a direct
2644s survival aspect to it or you know
2647s an uh Wilderness kind of hostile
2650s environment around you all of those base
2653s on the principle that the player can die
2656s you can lose things on the player or you
2658s can you know there is a significant loss
2661s to the death that you're experiencing
2663s based on the hostile environment around
2666s you
2668s and that would be really hard to reflect
2670s in a game like Eco
2672s because the intention in Eco is not to
2678s have survival as the main Drive of the
2683s game
2686s design um as it is in those games where
2689s you know you're advancing your
2690s technology to be able to better protect
2692s yourself you're advancing technology to
2694s be able to get better gear get upgrades
2697s and so
2698s on instead of death it's bankruptcy
2703s uh but it like it's it's an interesting
2706s discussion and you know it it's an
2709s interesting concept but it kind of goes
2714s against part of the
2717s Casual Embrace in
2720s Eco um but it would also kind of
2724s subtract a lot of the potential IAL
2726s efforts and involvements surrounding the
2728s Civics if you suddenly you know always
2733s need to be hyper
2736s Vigilant
2741s um
2743s ah um always need to be kind of hyper
2746s Vigilant uh over
2748s um over your environment to not
2751s accidentally step into a bear and it it
2753s it you know bites you to death or muls
2755s you or or whatever

2761s non-aggressive but because we did test
2764s out um having aggressive animals
2767s for um 9.0 and
2770s 9.1 where the animals were aggressive if
2773s you were getting too encroached on them
2776s um wolves and jaguars and things like
2778s that would attack you um they would
2780s subtract
2782s calories uh make a loud you know
2785s attacking noise kind of thing thing and
2787s the entire Community was basically
2789s against
2790s it um based on the experience like that
2795s that we didn't have a single positive
2797s feedback I
2800s believe
2802s um part of it was because animals are
2805s sort of misbehaving they're not really
2807s at the finished state that we want them
2809s to have
2810s clearly um they are going through a
2813s couple of rounds of optimizations and
2815s improvements um um in pathing behavior
2817s and and kind of blending animations and
2819s so
2820s on um so it it might be plausible to
2826s revise that and look it over once we
2828s have the animals in a more natural
2831s behaving way as you know avoiding towns
2834s or avoiding roads and and trying to stay
2836s clear of players where the behavior is
2838s more
2840s predictive
2843s um but it is really kind of
2848s tricky
2850s to allow animals to be that that level
2854s of hostility that they need to make
2856s sense as hostile
2858s animals
2860s um in an experience where we want to
2862s have it as
2864s casual um as Eco in terms of its
2867s gameplay kind of
2871s feel
2875s nice
2876s so let's see here I need another
2878s stockpile to be able to fit all this
2880s building
2884s materials let's put those first there
2886s and we'll have a stockpile in a
2888s minute
2892s um now that all
2895s said um if someone would want to create
2901s some sort of like survival damage you
2904s know add that whole lethality of the

2924s client side of it so if you wanted to
2927s like add a new element to display your
2930s health you probably won't be able to do

2933s of um the UI for the play player isn't

2942s um but you know continuingly expanding
2946s on the the modability and the support
2949s for the modability
2951s um it's something that we constantly
2954s Monitor and try to do
2956s and uh the test game if you're in here

2967s of um the Eco project U as he is
2971s our um developer that

3073s foundation up so when you try to cancel
3077s that out so if you want to move a
3081s foundation or move a um a tole
3087s uh hope everyone is having a great
3092s weekend um if you want to move a
3094s foundation uh there are a couple of
3096s couple of limitations here so with the
3098s new towns and settlement system the the
3102s settlement itself is tied to a native
3105s deed or a property so in this case we
3108s have the emers spark City Foundation
3110s deed which means a settlement needs a
3113s property to exist the property is tied
3117s to this object so if I wanted to pick
3119s this property up um and I pick up the
3122s deed um which would be the result of me
3125s picking up the
3127s foundation the deed is not going to
3128s exist which means the town cannot exist
3131s hence why one of the critical things
3133s that we added for 10.0 that I made sure
3137s was a
3138s possibility um is this new hotkey that
3141s you see allowing you to move an object
3143s rather than deconstruct or pick it up
3146s while you can still do that so for Town
3148s foundations in particular if you want to
3151s shuffle things around you just hold
3153s control and you hit move and then that
3155s will allow you to move this object and I
3159s see the interaction distance is still a
3160s little bit off on the Move action um you
3164s can move this object inside a certain
3166s perimeter and depending on the distance
3168s depending on the weight of the object
3170s the calorie consumption will
3172s increase so if you're you know if you're
3174s moving a really heavy vehicle it's going
3176s to cost you more calories than if you're
3178s just switching over and moving a small
3180s world object which means you can build a
3183s house and you can kind of Shuffle things
3185s around without actually deconstructing
3187s them so if you have work cues
3189s on um if you got like workbenches tied
3193s to stock piles and so on they're going
3195s to disconnect based on the distance if
3197s you're moving them away but you can add
3199s labor and you can move the object if you
3201s want to redecorate and then return it
3203s back in there and you're not going to
3204s lose the labor you spent on those work
3207s projects and for foundations of the
3210s different settlements it's in the same
3212s ballpark so we need to be able to move
3215s the
3216s foundation without destroying the
3218s property which then is this move thing
3221s so you just hit control left click and
3223s then you that opens up that move menu
3225s and then you just right click where you
3227s want to place it now for what we're
3229s doing here is I want to just remove
3231s it which means I'll try to pick it up
3233s and it'll prompt you with the what what
3235s object you're trying to pick up and
3237s it'll completely dismantle the
3239s Constitution and it'll unclaim the
3241s property and um oh yeah and I have
3246s active active things on there that I'm
3248s crafting and it'll also prevent you from
3249s doing that if you have CFT orders on it
3253s uh as usual so do that pick it
3257s up and it's in draft and once that
3261s happens it'll destroy the property and
3263s it'll automatically
3266s um add you as a settlement member if
3270s your homestead is on a higher tier
3273s settlement so in this case the White
3275s Tiger has a worldwide Federation that is
3279s covering the globe to guarantee that
3282s every member is always a part of a
3284s settlement regardless of which state so
3287s now that I'm no longer a part of this
3289s town I was trying to found it
3291s automatically popped me into the
3293s Federation because that is what where my
3296s Homestead is located
3299s under and now that that happened you can
3301s see that I no longer have this little
3304s perimeter on my house because I'm not a
3306s part of that
3308s anymore I think I should be able to join
3312s up that other
3313s town so if we just grab that
3317s chest and we'll pop in our foundation
3320s because we don't need that
3322s anymore uh throw in some of this
3327s there we go throw in some of that wood
3328s pulp and that'll get turned
3332s into uh that will get turned into some
3336s uh
3339s orter switch over to property
3342s and we're going to head down to the
3344s serenity group town
3348s again
3350s uh see what happens so the goal here now
3354s since I can open that force that tool
3357s tip to pop up that should be
3359s disappearing on its
3361s own um see if I can't join that town
3378s now so now that we have or town less I
3382s can go into the foundation and I can go
3384s into citizens
3386s and here you can see the direct citizens
3387s of this
3390s place uh my homestead's too far away and
3393s this is what I was concerned about so
3395s when you want to join a town if you have
3398s a homestead placed you're going to need
3401s to be within a certain radius of the
3407s Town um and if it if you're not and
3410s you're outside of that it's not going to
3411s let you join it so what I am going to
3414s need to do is I'm going to I need to
3415s shuffle my town um so the way you can
3418s kind of resolve it is either you remove
3420s the
3421s homestead um and you join the town and
3423s then you kind of place your homestead
3425s nearby or inside the town
3428s radius
3429s um after you've joined because that'll
3432s give you a better indication of how far
3434s away you can
3436s be um or you can kind of scoop
3440s along uh we do this so the homestead is
3444s marked similar as the town
3447s foundations homesteads are marked by
3450s another type of object which is a
3451s homestead claim
3453s stake and the homestead claim State can
3455s only be placed you know inside your
3457s homestead that is your claimed area so
3459s if we move this down to the very
3461s Southwest border of our
3465s property move that there we place
3468s it and then we can grab our claim tool
3472s make sure that it is linked to our house
3478s I can
3484s claim into
3486s that
3491s area so if I just claiming my way down
3495s here into the Southwest so I'm making
3497s sure
3499s that I have enough property because the
3502s property count is going to say that it
3503s wants at least 50% % of your
3506s plots to be adjacent to the town you're
3510s trying to join so if I just claim a
3513s bunch of
3515s tiles on the inside of
3518s this so I'm claiming in the town
3522s now
3525s um and I can do this because of this
3528s town is a member of the Federation and
3531s this land is kind of federation property
3533s if you will so if we do
3536s that uh let's have a see
3540s if we can't join that and there we go
3544s our character level up happen we got
3546s another star that we can spend
3549s on Gathering or something
3554s fun and it is so Eerie yet so fantastic
3558s when you're running
3559s with um the different types of shaders
3564s active you can have this kind of

3622s cover to the Northeast and cover more of
3625s kind of build something on that border
3627s here um to kind of just expand that town
3631s to make sure that we can cover the
3633s Farmland that I wanted to be working on
3637s originally they are just running back
3639s and forth back and forth in
3641s here crazy cats um so if I grab the full
3645s stockpile for instance and I try to move
3647s this
3648s thing you see that it is way outside of
3652s my calorie proportions here where it
3654s wants to use 20,000
3656s calories uh which is clearly Way Beyond
3658s what I can use and and what I can
3661s have
3666s um um so moving you know filling in a
3672s storage and then completely moving it
3674s over by using the move thing from an
3677s from from a general kind
3679s of exploitative perspective was
3682s something that I wanted to make sure it
3683s wasn't possible but on the other hand I
3685s also wanted to make sure that it was
3689s doable if you wanted to change out some
3691s of those
3694s costs we grab the tent for instance that
3697s thing contains some
3700s items uh so we can move that over
3704s there grab this workbench we can move
3707s the workbench down
3708s here this is going to be absolutely
3711s chaotic just kind of shuffling things
3713s around like this
3717s but it I think it's a good example on
3721s you know even if I had a bunch of work
3722s orders and whatnot for these things I
3724s don't need
3725s to I don't need to constantly kind of
3728s pick things up completely and break
3729s links I can just shuffle them around a
3731s little bit

3862s you mean like if you have a country or
3864s setting up a town after the fact
3867s or I'm not sure I followed
3872s with uh here we go um so now I'm I'm I'm
3877s uh I'm following the obligations under
3879s the town criteria being or any
3882s settlement criteria being I need to have
3884s the properties with at least 50% of that
3887s property within the borders of the
3890s Town um there is also ways to kind of
3892s prohibit anyone from claiming in the
3894s area and and so on so forth um if you
3897s want to change out like immigration
3899s policies and that so there's a lot of
3900s tweakability and and customizability for
3902s your town um and its
3907s legislation um so hoping it'll fit most
3910s play Styles so I'll abandon the white
3913s tiger Federation because right now I am
3915s a direct citizen of this
3917s settlement and becoming a citizen of the
3921s town which is there bam whoa
3925s now I am a part of this town which is
3928s also giving me a whole bunch of
3930s new um legislative power so if we go
3934s under see how much this is actually
3937s showing um so this monstrosity
3942s here is going to be showing you every
3945s single
3946s article and every single law that you
3950s are subjugated o under if you are a part
3954s of this like the specific settlement so
3956s you can switch out these and kind of
3957s look
3958s over Which towns have what rules and and
3961s so on so
3964s forth um so in this case for instance we
3966s are the the serenity Groove is having a
3970s law for hunting and
3972s cleaning and it'll ignore authorization
3974s if you're trying to hunt clean up tree
3976s debris or shop stumps or pick up Place
3979s objects um of vehicle
3983s types
3985s um and as well as like preservation
3991s so it um allows the kind of granularity
3995s to kind of go through and select the
3996s different towns and see what towns have
3998s lost that might be interesting to you or
4001s just keeping tabs on your town and
4003s making sure that they don't try to push
4005s in something odd that you might find
4008s weird um or against and then we have
4013s this is a
4016s uh an iteration and work in progress in
4018s trying to
4020s showcase the relationship in between
4023s different towns countries and
4025s Foundations or federations
4027s so uh it'll show you how many settlers
4029s there is there there are in each of them
4033s um if they're subject under a country or
4037s if they're subject under a federation
4039s directly and so on or neither if they
4041s don't have a relation to
4043s them so here we can see almost every
4045s single town is directly linked to the
4047s Federation directly
4050s versus uh farming
4052s Paradise which is a member of the state
4055s SL
4057s country um and then you can see the
4059s population in here um if we check the
4062s Federation you can see all the different
4064s kind of demographics and so
4068s on um added French version for Town
4072s options um you mean transl ation

4089s things which is what I'm presuming I'm

4194s the community in some way shape or form

4200s Discord for how to get involved in that
4202s and how it
4204s works um in the translation
4207s Channel and all of these things should
4210s be translated in into your local
4212s language if it's available to be picked

4221s translated and these kind of go over go
4224s each step um of the different objects
4227s founding how you do it um how it kind of
4229s works and going into a little bit more

4285s you feel that hey this really needs to
4287s be more explained in the game um also
4290s pop suggestions for that
4293s because um at the moment there's not
4295s really a whole lot of
4297s tutorials um like in-game tutorials
4300s about how to how to kind of start your
4303s settlements and and how to kind of get
4305s that
4306s going um through the general tutorial
4310s system
4312s um some something that we're looking to
4316s do but it's also kind of hard to add a
4318s tutorial for something that would tell
4320s every player to create their own
4323s town
4324s um when the town needs to have multiple
4328s people so there's there's kind of a
4330s a a a multiple people dependency to make
4334s a tutorial work with those
4336s functionalities so
4338s we're looking into kind of how we want
4340s to translate that information better to
4343s the player through um through like
4344s tutorial bites and so on but um a lot of
4347s information should be available in the
4348s in the eupedia on on most of those
4353s subject um so now that we have our claim
4355s Sak we are a part of the
4357s Town um which means when I have my claim
4360s stake here you can see
4362s that it is telling me that hey start a
4366s deed for the serenity Grove when
4369s placed and you can see the amount of
4371s claim stakes in the world you can see
4373s kind of where Which towns have active
4375s stores for claim Stakes so that might
4377s give you a good indication of hey you
4379s know this settlements is they're
4380s actively looking for new players and
4383s they're also very freely available with
4386s selling property and selling stores
4388s selling using the store to kind of sell
4390s the claims and sell Stakes to um allow
4394s players to freely gain new properties
4395s and freely expand their
4398s properties and when you're trying to
4400s place it it'll it'll light up and say
4403s you know
4404s um this plot is occupied you can't build
4407s there and then it'll highlight red
4410s outside the border of the town so you
4412s know you can't place a claim outside of
4415s the Town influence because that will
4418s that'll prevent you and say like hey you
4419s know you can only start it inside the
4422s inside the um the influence radius of
4424s that town
4426s so I'm going to start building that here
4431s for a cultural
4432s expansion and
4434s then once I've gotten somewhere with
4439s that and start to grow the influence for
4440s the
4441s town um that'll shift the influence
4444s radius and expand more here and then
4445s I'll move my Homestead upwards towards
4447s the coastline I think so I'm just going
4449s to nudge it up against
4452s my nudge it up against my Homestead as
4455s is right now just giving a little bit of
4456s a spacing here from
4459s hi's place so if we want to do like a
4462s road got a main road over there and then
4465s we'll do like wide road to wide Road in
4470s here and then we can do one claim Side
4473s Road here will probably be good
4476s enough so we can add that one TI in and
4480s that will create a new property which is
4483s a Serenity
4485s Grove we do
4487s this uh it created that Serenity grow
4491s deed and now I can CL grab my claim tool
4495s make sure I'm using that Grove deed and
4498s I can start claiming for that for this
4500s property and as you can see up
4502s here um it has four plots with the steak
4507s and then I can open up the steak and I
4510s can drag in claim papers because the
4512s claim papers now have a settlement
4515s relation uh these claims can only be
4518s used on Stakes within the influence of
4520s sertic grow so I can grab these and I
4522s can just drop them in here
4524s and that'll expand the amount of plots I
4526s can have on this
4528s property so now I went from 4 to 14
4532s which is going to be big enough for me
4533s to kind of do what I want for what will
4537s basically be like a um I don't know
4539s Museum SL
4541s cultural building here going
4545s on um which will also allow me to start
4547s using that building material ship things
4549s around move my property back
4551s and get things going so we're going to
4553s do three
4556s wide and then we're just going to do
4558s like two depth here or get two in two in

4742s weights
4745s um for a lot of objects
4750s overall
4753s and um generally generally like um
4758s housing materials and like crafting
4760s stations and everything has gotten a big
4762s a big kind of rebalanced
4764s towards what their weights were same
4766s thing with crops like you can't fill
4768s your entire every single slot entire
4770s inventory with um a whole whooping
4775s amazing amount of crops anymore you're
4777s going to need to have um some sort of
4780s storage SL
4783s hauling um when you're doing like bigger
4785s Harvest or or roaming around and doing
4787s bigger Longer hunting
4790s sessions
4792s um which which also means that when
4794s you're traveling and you know you want
4795s to buy like a whole living room worth of
4797s furniture you probably want to be
4800s keeping an eye on how much each of those
4802s things are going to be weighing um
4804s unless you have a vehicle with
4810s you so here we can see
4813s some some canoes and some Harbor stuff
4816s being built and we can probably shift
4818s that property off we don't need to see
4821s that right now um some
4827s canoes
4829s and I also took the opportunity in 10.0
4832s to revise the world generation layers
4835s for ores and general materials into
4837s ground so as you saw in the river when I
4840s was passing through the there was an
4842s outcrop of iron ore so ores are now um
4846s generated in the uh part of the surface
4849s layer proportionally um with the metal
4853s types based in the biomes that they're
4856s most commonly found
4858s in so you'll see things like iron
4860s sticking out in the desert you'll see
4862s copper sticking out in the the colder
4865s biomes like the TGA the mountains and
4867s the
4869s glacials uh and uh things like gold in
4873s the jungle and and so on where exactly
4876s am I now
4879s go

4884s uh
4890s riom so here we want to
4893s grab probably want to
4896s do so here for example a large Lumber
4898s stock pile is is weighing 5
4901s kilos uh towel rack is weighing a
4904s kilo uh way R table is two kilos so it's

4917s want to be you know you can easily do
4919s like 30 40 50 kilos worth of things um
4923s on your normal shopping trip that you
4925s might have to kind of adjust um so we're

5059s next type the amount of consumable
5061s resources you have as well as show in
5063s Explorer so you can
5065s grab um you can look over where those
5069s where these pictures are being posted
5072s on on your hard drive so you can save it
5075s you know upload it somewhere else or
5077s drop it in discussion groups or
5082s whatnot we want to do that and then we
5084s just go back to the
5088s eel and we got some some special effects
5091s here and some audio uh
5093s um plan for it as
5105s well and that consumes a resource and
5108s then you get this you know you can save
5109s it you can discard
5111s it um and as it notes out even when even
5115s when discarded there's still going to be
5116s a copy on it saved on your computer
5118s because it does that in the event of the
5120s creation so when you save it it will
5123s create a so-called picture
5126s item based on that
5128s photo
5131s and we can do that
5135s for capture the sunset so we change out
5137s the aspect ratio we can do that we can
5141s do that not entirely sure how much of
5146s this
5149s um how much of the different types were
5152s actually completed yet so Gio has been
5155s doing a fantastic job
5157s on uh working on the Shader and the
5160s functionality here and it's
5161s been uh an absolute crazy
5165s Journey um to get this working in game
5168s and get this
5170s um sorted out and making sure that it's
5173s working the way it's working the
5174s layering is happening the way they are
5176s and um the brush Strokes are kind of
5179s shown and everything and and all that
5180s it's absolutely fantastic work from him
5182s um can't praise it
5184s enough uh he's also the one that did all
5187s the cameras and everything so the eil is
5189s kind of your
5190s introductionary initial steps um to
5195s these photos uh these are your main
5198s source of cultural value for the
5202s towns um is there any info on the art
5205s the um the eel and art supplies on how
5207s to craft them hoping it's not too
5208s difficult in early game um so I should
5212s probably have some some rolling flow shs
5214s just to kind of show some of the tech
5216s tree things um unfortunately I don't
5220s might do that for the next stream um but
5224s basically the eel is made out of uh
5227s grinding down plants and some of the um
5231s some of the
5232s flowers um that now have proper um
5237s droppa bles like the croso bush the
5238s trillum flowers so some of the the
5241s actual like the orchids so the the
5243s actual flower flowers not actual crop
5246s plants um so they can now be plantable
5250s um such as
5251s this um they now yield you with their
5255s flowers and you can use those flowers in
5258s Milling and grind them down into colored
5260s powders the colored powders is then
5263s mixed with um some type of oil um in
5267s terms of like the cooking oil
5270s types um and as a requirement for
5273s Milling we shift Milling around so
5275s Milling isn't Tech dependent on like
5277s tier
5278s 1.5 things so the engineering uh the
5282s advanced engineering papers that were
5285s previously a requirement for Milling to
5287s be unlocked has been removed um so it is
5292s much easier to get into Milling early on
5294s I've also added flow to some of the
5297s campfire cooking recipes and hello
5300s armored um hope you're having a good
5302s evening
5305s um so a Milling is available in tier one
5309s you can go over
5310s here uh or actually probably better to
5313s go through the
5314s teory um so you've got your campfire
5316s cooking you got your Gathering and so on
5319s um it brings in Milling
5323s here and colored powder is available
5326s through this it requires petals petals
5330s is a tag which is gained from the FL
5332s flowers of the croso Bush the trillian
5335s plant and the
5337s orchids um so there is a resource for
5339s this in the grassland colder biomes
5342s there's a resource gain for these in the
5343s desert as well as in the jungle and kind
5346s of the hotter climate
5349s areas um it's up in Milling two I'll
5352s probably drop both colored powder and
5354s oil paints down to tier one just to make
5356s them available way
5359s earlier
5361s um and then those are mixed up and
5365s together with
5367s canvas uh which is made by tailoring so
5370s you do have an involvement of tailoring
5372s and Milling to be able to do them but
5375s based on the normal acquisition and
5378s unlocks of these two professions
5380s probably available around you know day
5384s somewhere between Day 2 and
5387s 3 uh you can have secret Flower Farms
5390s next to Seasons instead of secret wheat
5392s Farms yeah so you know doing doing
5395s actual flower
5397s farming
5399s um is is usable it's it's
5403s essential uh curry powder no um colored
5407s powder not curry
5421s powder
5426s so these
5431s ones my eyes are playing games on me
5435s um yeah um hopefully shouldn't be too
5440s difficult if it if it turns out it is
5442s way too difficult and and comes in way
5443s too late I'll probably reduce the
5447s quantity um on the uh the required
5451s ingredients and make them a bit cheaper
5454s but it also feels as it's a good way to
5457s keep some of these professions relevant
5460s throughout and there's you know you have
5462s a constant consumption need for them
5464s regardless of and it's a uh it's a good
5467s way to kind of involve cash crops rather
5471s than just food items for some of the
5473s food focusing professions like Milling
5476s it now has an asset outlet for just
5480s pure um cash involvement rather than
5484s just food um and that's true
5489s for another rebalance I did for
5492s lumber where Lumber now requires a
5494s certain type of processed oil to be able
5496s to be
5498s crafted
5502s um which uh is hopefully going to shake
5506s things up quite significantly and um I'm
5509s going to keep adding dependencies I got
5511s I got a few few ideas for post 10 in
5513s regarding to fertilizer and some of the
5515s things in there that's going to be
5517s shaking things around quite
5519s significantly um but you know we've got
5521s we've got this amazing Oak Forest we've
5523s got this night
5525s sky
5527s um and we got some of this
5529s industrialization things going on so

5652s scenery with different types of art

5661s insane Inception here with a painting
5663s and a painting and a painting and so on

5670s know um hopefully hopefully we're going
5672s to see some cool things coming out we've
5674s seen some pretty

5677s um impressive things and some really
5679s good um scenery shots and and some art
5683s coming out um that's been really cool to
5686s be watching and we also had like someone

5690s um um some zoology Museum things where
5694s they went around and then kind of framed
5696s all the different types of animals and
5698s and displayed them and so on so you know
5701s hopefully just adds more flavor and you
5703s can add these two which is what we're
5705s going to be looking for

5710s some frames so with this comes a whole
5714s heap load of different types
5716s of frames to
5719s add these artworks onto
5723s which you can then place in your house
5725s and people can
5728s um they can
5730s um apply reputation to these
5737s pictures um with um so you have your
5742s reputation that you can place on um
5744s players which is I do this
5748s um this is something that that's kind of
5750s been thing for a while while uh or
5753s forever you can click on a player and
5755s you can add a reputation value to it and
5759s um you know put a review in there and
5761s that'll it'll increase the reputation
5764s and then with the increase it'll change
5766s out the titles they'll go from being
5768s like gray unknowns onto um different
5770s types of colors so if you get Negative
5772s reputation it'll go red if you get
5774s positive reputation it will go green and
5776s then as you can of go
5777s on um you can
5780s get um it really helps kind of
5783s distinguish where who are involved in
5785s the environment and and who are involved
5787s in the community
5790s and kind of get things going and the
5792s same thing works similar for art where
5794s you can add reputation to the
5797s artworks and it'll give a benefit and a
5800s bonus to the cultural
5804s value
5805s um that
5807s is you have a penalty for giving
5810s yourself reputation
5812s will so if reputation is coming from
5814s someone outside of your settlement it'll
5817s be much more valued versus just
5819s reputation that you dump in from the
5821s town so you could have like a drive of
5824s trying to get a whole bunch of people
5826s coming to your Museum or coming to your
5827s house and and giving value to your um
5832s artwork to just increase the value and
5835s influence of your
5837s town um so we get we have someone that's
5842s fairly close by that's selling
5844s this Frost is buying we got Mystery Shop

5850s Northwest is that's going to be on
5853s our is that's going to be on our
5856s uh on our Island yeah that is on our
5859s Island that was that was mystery
5862s great so we head up there I'm just going
5864s to unload some of these things in here

5876s uh kind offload them so we don't have

5966s press that comes out in the mechanical
5969s era that allows you to or at the moment
5972s it's coming out in the mechanical era
5974s um we have a new work object that a work
5978s table that is intended to do that in the
5982s industrial SL electronical era so you
5985s have like a a station for like an
5988s electrical station for uploading these
5991s um digital versions of
5993s it

6000s um but yeah so the the printing press in
6003s 10 is completely fully enabled and is
6007s working uh so let's do here where are we

6013s here and these are the new stone bracers

6016s way they got a bit of an art

6088s the asphalt and making them using some
6091s new some new functionality to make it
6094s kind of pop a bit more and there're
6097s still a plain texture but due
6100s to some technical Shenanigans the art
6103s team has been up to we it kind of makes
6105s it look like they
6108s have
6109s um form if you will on on the actual
6113s texture it's looking really really nice
6114s our team has done a fantastic job at
6116s this and they've also overhauled a lot
6119s of the ground textures um for most
6122s blocks it's still it's still a Polish in
6124s progress very much so
6128s um orc roads
6131s um they are um wetlands in particular
6136s has gone through an absolute
6138s astronomical change in my view
6141s it's looking crazy good
6144s um so we might take a a peak over
6150s there um here once we've got this kind
6152s of set
6155s up uh armor no we we the asphalt lines
6160s are still not working on the ramps I'm
6163s sorry
6169s um I'll try try to uh I'll try to
6174s convince Toby that we need to do
6182s that we got some some more Farmland

6195s uh we got a new model for the
6200s windmill um there is also an asset
6202s upgrade for the water wheel coming
6205s but it's not in yet and I'm not entirely
6208s sure that it will be done for 10 but
6210s there is one coming um
6212s and the art team is going over a whole
6215s bunch of these different asset upgrades
6217s um as you can see here this is a version
6219s of the new
6221s chest um and we got the new
6225s campfire so they are
6229s uh uh big big wind windmills and water
6232s wheels there is so to to kind of give
6235s some context on that because it's a good
6238s it's a it's a really good
6241s point um in terms of like volumetric
6244s size for these
6247s objects um
6250s and it's not
6254s entirely something that we
6257s want like on on a purely aesthetic thing
6260s it's kind of a a a world scale versus
6263s World mechanic kind of thing so because
6266s mechanical Power is similar to
6268s electrical power where it's limited to a
6270s certain range of
6273s influence
6275s um It's tricky to have an object that
6279s requires such a huge
6282s clearance if if say the um the object
6286s for the windmill housing is like 3x two
6289s or something so
6291s it would be Center lined and uh or even
6294s 2 by two and it would be Center lined
6296s and the whole kind of wings span would
6298s be
6299s say you know seven tiles or 10 tiles big
6302s so you have this kind of
6304s huge um wind blade for them that would
6308s make it look like it would really pop
6310s like this is an a huge
6313s asset um it also means that it needs to
6317s be viable enough to also share the
6319s mechanical Power with the devices you
6322s want to be using them which means that
6325s that thing has to be placed like 20 30
6327s tiles up in the
6329s air um or like stacked up on way on the
6333s side of the building but it needs to
6334s extend the power radius long enough
6338s to um to be able to do that yeah so need
6342s a wood block to transfer mechanical
6343s Power instead of range yeah it's
6344s something that we've
6347s been it it's it's been it's been
6349s discussed and it's something that that's
6351s ongoingly kind of poked at if we want to
6355s transition mechanical Power to be
6357s directly adjacently
6360s spread
6361s um there's a lot there's a lot of the
6364s community that would like that and it is
6367s definitely something that keeps cropping
6368s up internally for discussion every now
6370s and then when we're looking at these
6371s things and what you know kind of where
6373s we're designing and want to be pushing
6375s these functionalities
6376s too
6379s um
6381s so you know it
6383s it's it's um
6387s ongoing but even if we did want to just
6390s you know make that really really big um
6393s now that we have the base model for it
6396s just expanding it and making it bigger
6398s in terms of scale is fairly
6400s easy so you know doing this and like
6403s tripling the size of the blades in in
6405s length and twice the width
6409s um
6412s it would
6415s um can of allow that um armored yeah
6420s using lubricant some some type of
6422s lubricant to use as f as fuel for power
6426s generation yeah it's it's definitely on
6428s the topic of things being
6430s discussed
6432s um but it would probably be in the part
6436s of something of
6439s a kind of tweak towards oil and
6442s processing um because I'd like to move
6445s General the start of General crude oil
6447s and oil drilling to the mechanical era
6450s which would then kind of allow lubricant
6452s to be part of things like the early
6454s early mechanical vehicles and early
6456s mechanical Machinery that would open
6458s that
6459s up um unfortunately you know time being
6462s limited art only has timeing capacity
6465s for so much and our devs only have so
6468s much availability for kind of code
6470s support and and introductions of new
6472s mechanics so we'll see we we got plenty
6476s of things planned but um one step at a
6479s time and uh yeah we're U art is working
6484s on on a huge amount of art General art
6487s Improvement General quality polish and
6490s um pushing these assets kind of up to
6494s the specs of the
6496s current
6497s game um one should say because a lot of
6500s these assets have been you know
6502s developed over time and some of them can
6504s be really really old
6507s comparatively um so just doing like a
6510s pass on them and and uniforming the
6512s textures and materials in between the
6513s workbenches and reducing the uh the vram
6517s memory usage because the assets are
6519s sharing more uh they're sharing more
6522s materials and sharing more um pieces in
6526s between them um so it's a huge drive on
6529s um rendering optimizations as well uh to
6532s just reduce the amount
6534s of uh reduce the specs required to kind
6538s of run it at a higher
6540s capacity
6542s um yeah so now let's see if we want to
6545s do so we have this here and
6548s we if we just switch this over to
6552s building again um show in world just we
6555s can see the property
6557s outline uh a little bit food to have
6561s that right in the middle here we got one
6564s tile there probably want to have that

6626s things but it would also allow us to
6628s kind of scale up certain things if it's

6631s connected um but it does prevent it does
6634s add its own layer of kind of
6636s infrastructure

6640s um but it would definitely
6644s be it's definitely an interesting Avenue
6647s to investigate in and and really
6649s evaluate to see if we wanted to do it

6996s mechanics um so those that is basically

7007s but go with two of that go go with two
7010s of that and then we want to grab an iron

7038s are repl using our old St stone tools to

7071s pretty happy we finally got finally got
7073s to uh to give an announcement to uh for
7077s the actual release date so looking
7079s forward to
7083s uh finally getting 10 out there it's
7086s going to be absolutely
7088s crazy
7094s um uh did you guys sort out some of the
7096s Kings with the interaction system like
7098s targeting a block and hitting the block
7099s behind and such yeah so to give a little
7102s bit of context to
7104s that um one of the things that we did
7107s architecturally so like you know
7108s background Tech
7110s wise um that isn't really noticeable for
7115s the player in most of the cases
7118s surrounding it um is the what's referred
7123s to as the interaction
7124s system and that first right turn is
7127s really not liking it in in the animator
7131s um so the interaction system is from an
7136s external point of view not necessarily
7139s the system that does the interactions
7142s per se because the interactions are
7145s happening using the tool code and then
7148s calling on the interaction manager to
7150s kind of you know route these into direct
7152s to the correct Parts back and
7154s forth and the interaction system that we
7157s were using were kind of something that
7160s we just you know it was implemented very
7163s very early on in the Eco development and
7165s it kind of each new kind of game play
7168s element
7169s interaction outside of the very
7173s original like build pickup Place pickup
7177s and
7179s mine
7181s um were have been kind of constantly
7184s spaghetti on top of it just kind of make
7186s it work with the already existing base
7189s code
7191s and it was never really refurbished to
7194s fit in the more sophisticated ones like
7197s um the eating stuff um the drills and
7201s the fishing rods and and some of these
7203s other kind of more um complex
7207s interactions that is happening in the
7208s world and then the same thing with like
7210s different types of different types of
7212s material interactions or limitations to
7215s like tool limitations when you're in
7217s vehicles um so you know you don't want
7220s to be digging away dirt with your shovel
7224s that you held in your hand when you
7225s jumped into a vehicle um and so on so
7229s that whole underlying system was
7231s basically chucked in the bin and
7232s reworked from
7234s scratch um in 10 and that has
7238s been um the second source for the qu
7243s quantity of bugs that we've been seeing
7245s in the play test because what happened
7248s with the complete Rew worth of it is
7251s that it is much more modular now it is
7253s easier to debug it's easier to add new
7255s things to it um it's a lot cleaner but
7259s it also meant that all of the small kind
7261s of
7262s bandage uh like small packets of hot
7265s fixes for these special quirks and Kinks
7267s and these Unique Kind of criterias in
7270s between like certain block filtration
7273s priorities um for
7275s example if you have a cart that's behind
7278s the tall plant
7280s the plant interaction is happening
7282s because I don't hold you know anything
7285s that's a pickable plant for instance is
7288s always targeting that plant to make sure
7290s that I can always pick it um because
7293s that's my my primary interaction with
7295s this with this block but if I have a
7298s vehicle behind
7300s it and see I grab this one here and we
7303s just roll it up into the the tomatoes as
7306s an
7308s example now the interaction needs to
7310s know that even though I'm not holding
7313s anything in my hand and even though I'm
7317s I the tomato is a valid
7320s interaction to be done I still want to
7323s pick up that cart because that's what
7325s I'm looking at like my intention here is
7327s I want to grab my cart because it's in
7329s the middle of my farm field and I want
7331s to keep rolling it way here um the plant
7334s needs to know
7336s that I want to pick up the card I don't
7338s want to pick up the the plant and for
7342s that to happen it needs to be layered in
7346s a specific order and it needs to have
7348s like every single kind of parameter
7350s needs to
7351s be um correctly placed in their order of
7355s execution to be able to properly map and
7357s and force that event to happen rather
7360s than something else and the same thing
7362s you can see like if you have loose
7363s Rubble in a stockpile you want to make
7365s sure that you pick the rubble instead of
7366s the stockpile so for the old interaction
7369s code all of these kind of things had
7371s small packages of fixes here and there
7374s back and forth up and down which you
7375s know grow the the spaghetti if you will
7379s um so when that whole code piece got
7381s ripped out all of these small unique
7385s fixes that has gone into the game over
7387s the course of you know the the four and
7389s a half years it's been out on Steam and
7392s the one and a half year it's been out on
7395s as public access from the kickstarter
7397s all of that was kind of wouldn't say
7400s lost but it needed to be Rewritten and
7404s rearranged in a way that made sense with
7407s the entire new architectural system and
7411s a lot of the tool interactions had to be
7413s Rewritten to work with the new system
7415s because they were kind of piggybacking
7416s of the old one and and cleaning that all
7419s thing out um has been a substantial load
7425s of work to make it work nicely with the
7427s new system it's all you know pretty
7429s pretty clean and crisp code in
7431s comparison to what what it was
7433s before um and we are now starting to
7436s really be at a level where a lot of
7439s these things have been
7441s eliminated um especially in the last
7444s couple of weeks and the everyone that
7446s has been participating in the play test
7448s has been
7450s absolutely vital to the speed of those
7455s happening um as well as kind of catching
7458s all the different types of scenarios and
7460s events where these things may be causing
7463s weird things um back and forth for any
7467s number of
7468s reasons um so you know can't say it
7471s enough and and I oh it feels like I keep
7474s herting myself a little bit but um
7477s everyone that has been participating in
7478s the play test has been an absolute
7481s champion and deserve the
7486s praise
7488s um
7494s there's still a couple of Polish things
7495s for the uh shovel that needs to
7499s happen um so one of the things you can
7501s probably notice here that
7503s uh I am digging multiple pieces at the
7507s same
7510s time which is an incorporation
7515s of
7518s um
7519s what was used for the
7523s um uh the big shovel mod for those that
7526s were using it and those were kind of
7528s exposed to
7529s it um
7532s and it's actually quite an
7535s interesting development on it so the big
7537s shovel
7538s mod um was a mod that introduced
7542s different variation and tiers
7545s of um shoves that would allow you to you
7548s know pick pick M you know pick have an
7550s increased stack per the shovel that
7553s would increase the volume of capacity
7555s for it and with a lot of the interaction
7559s changes that went down 97 I believe
7562s Jordan can probably correct me if that's
7564s not the case think with
7566s 97 11 or something we redid some of the
7569s core functionalities that broke that mod
7572s completely um and it was just not really
7576s plausible to do it the way they were
7578s doing it
7580s um so what we did was um exposed some of
7584s the
7585s variables um for the shovel and kind of
7587s extended it for modability so the shovel
7591s itself had a property set for the amount
7593s of things you can pick up uh making
7597s making the mod easier to kind to
7599s manage and after after some back and
7602s forth discussions with the team
7606s um we came to the conclusion that
7611s um as of like the popularity of the
7614s functionality as a way to um promote the
7619s use of higher tier
7621s shovels um instead of having like an AOE
7624s effect of the shovel which would be odd
7626s in a lot of
7627s cases um we took the approach that big
7632s shovel had with it and just increased
7635s the volume of stacks for it
7637s so um it's kind of a vanilla
7640s implementation
7642s Orit um that just grew kind of from the
7645s popularity Orit but also from kind of a
7648s necessity to have some sort of upgrade
7650s reasons for the shovel other than just
7653s calorie
7656s tiers um yeah so the quantity of
7659s materials that you can pick up is based
7661s on the tier of the tool so um wooden
7664s shovel is one stack or one stack as
7669s maximum size and then iron is three um
7672s steel is five and then modern can take
7673s up to
7676s 10 which is still a capacity
7680s limitation uh armored yeah
7685s basically um the stack limitation sizes
7688s is is um inside the script for each of
7691s the tools so if a server wants to change
7694s that out um they can adjust those
7697s numbers in override files
7700s uh to whatever they feel comfortable
7701s with so you know if they really don't
7703s want interchangeable stack sizes on the
7705s shovels they can just reduce that to one
7707s if they wanted
7713s to um any plans to do the same with
7716s hammers um hammers already kind of have
7720s that like they don't have specific stack
7722s limitation sizes but you do have
7724s different shapes like the fill types of
7726s the Hammers that you can use
7729s um like the the wooden hammer or the the
7731s stone
7732s Hammer is grab that one the stone Hammer
7735s is limited to just line
7737s and if I can I can scroll up and grab it
7741s there we
7742s go uh so if we grab a stack here um the
7747s the stone Hammer is limited to the FI
7749s type of point and line um Rodney hey um
7753s the big announcement is release date for
7756s Eco update 10.0 and that is the 12th of
7763s December
7765s um arm iron Hammer has uh 9713 iron
7769s Hammer has all the yeah um so that is
7772s also configurable thing
7774s um let me know what you think of the
7778s idea of actually limiting the forms as
7780s well CU I'm pretty sure that there is a
7786s without that much effort I think we can
7788s do that
7790s um and it's been something that I kind
7793s of want to push for
7795s but um been a bit cautious about it um
7799s but I feel like it should be a good
7804s limitation so you know even if you have
7806s ashlar you can't build all the different
7808s form types unless you have a modern
7811s version of the hammer so if you only
7813s have a crude Stone Hammer you can only
7815s build like the basic squares and and
7817s walls and supports stairs to get access
7820s to kind of tier two tier three tier
7822s four um and so on uh faster swinging
7825s tools with higher tiers would be
7827s great um they are generally faster if
7830s there's some variation of tools that
7833s aren't
7835s um probably should be looked into as a
7838s bug because they should generally be
7847s faster
7849s so right now we're just cleaning out the
7851s ground and making sure that we can place
7854s down our flooring of this building to uh
7858s get kind of
7861s going um and
7864s as someone might have noticed with that
7867s might have been exposed to the earlier
7869s play test
7871s um we are experimenting a lot with
7874s adding animations for all the actions in
7876s the game and there will be animations
7878s for everything
7883s um
7885s ah um but we are also trying to make
7890s sure that the animations that are
7892s happening are also sensible in terms of
7895s kind of intention time
7898s speed
7900s um kind of how things
7903s working
7905s uh where do I want to build this thing
7908s kind of need to clear out a whole whole
7910s bunch of the space back
7917s here let's grab some
7921s dirt build this back up build this back
7927s up can
7932s I probably shouldn't have gotten the big
7935s one probably should have gotten the
7936s other
7937s one
7939s if we're here we need to fill up that
7941s last
7943s line it's going to be all the way out
7957s here uh yeah so um the rubble pickup
7964s animation kind of got rescinded because
7968s it
7970s it was a bit quirky in terms of speed um
7973s it's currently the same kind of speed
7975s that is on the uh the wood pickup but
7977s you pick up less wood than you do or
7980s less
7981s frequent um I should
7986s say um and not kind of like a gazillion
7991s Rubble
7994s um so what happened with it was that it
7997s was slightly
8000s um what on Earth was going on
8003s there
8005s okay well that's
8009s interesting weird things happens when
8011s you stream that's just the way it is
8014s except it to move
8017s on um so the the essential essential
8021s breakdown was that it made rub it made
8024s Rubble interactions take way too
8026s long um
8029s for the intera ability and it seems like
8032s I have some weird delays here um we also
8036s found a potential solution for the
8038s rubble teleporting all over the
8041s place um Gabriel has
8045s been deep down into the rabbit hole of a
8049s lot of the
8051s um Rubble mechanics and spawning and
8054s everything surrounding it
8056s and he may have found find found
8059s something that helps it a little bit so
8062s hopefully we should see that deployed to
8064s the play test and test that out as soon
8067s as
8068s possible um there we go maybe wonder if
8072s I cleared it enough
8074s here there we go now we can build it
8081s here and I just need
8087s to
8089s see here probably not going to be able
8091s to claim it until I've
8094s gotten got the
8103s house yeah I need to move the stockpile
8107s in a bit but I also need to dig out the
8110s dirt and and Shuffle things around
8114s so that's hopefully good um also noce
8117s not getting teleported into the C all
8118s the time was that fixed um I'm not going
8120s to say
8121s fixed but it was at least adjusted
8126s and hopefully not causing much
8130s problems um and as you can see here on
8133s the
8134s rubble what happened with the rubble is
8138s the the actual Rubble
8141s pieces were incorrectly set inside the
8144s prefabs for them so all Rubble is
8148s spawning underground and some
8151s Rubble got kind of freaked out
8155s by freaked out by the system that
8158s handles objects that falls under the
8161s ground which then caused them to
8163s teleport incorrectly to the wrong
8165s position because of just of the sheer
8167s volume of things that were
8169s happening um so there should be
8173s something coming in to kind of adjust
8175s some of
8177s that as soon as
8181s possible
8185s um and that should mitigate it SL reduce
8189s it to as much as possible
8192s and um we'll see if it's a permanent fix
8196s by evaluating the play test and making
8199s sure that the rubble is behaving the way
8200s we want it
8202s to
8205s um but yeah so that's you know if we're
8208s making significant technological
8210s progress as well um spicy tuner Ral
8212s going back to the interactions
8214s interfacing how are the elevators coming
8216s I remember a few times some of the crazy
8218s things happening when driving on them
8221s um the elevators are
8225s actually
8228s getting want to phrase it
8232s um there hasn't been significant input
8237s on some of the surrounding systems for
8239s the elevators as I'd
8241s like um
8244s however there has been a a significant
8248s amount of work going into like the
8251s wooden barges and the bigger boats and
8253s making them sync better and work better
8255s with vehicles in
8257s general and the changes and and kind of
8262s things that were done to the boats and
8265s the investigation surrounding that uh
8267s physics inter interactions is fairly
8270s transferable to other world object
8274s interactions
8277s um which means
8281s that um
8284s hopefully um Gabriel is going to be able
8288s to take a look at elevators
8291s um on like Post 10 to
8296s um give them the same kind of quality
8298s pass as we did with the boats um so
8301s they're going to be a lot
8303s more rigid in terms of how they're how
8306s they're working with different
8309s vehicles um so there's a lot of a lot of
8312s the knowledge that went into creating
8314s all the things and all the parts and
8315s making the boats work um is
8319s very very transferable and very
8321s applicable for all the other aspects of
8323s the
8325s game um
8329s uh rubble and vehicle teleporting to 0
8331s related to the issue mentioned
8335s um so Rubble isn't like the the
8339s teleportation to z00 happens because
8340s Unity doesn't know where to put things
8342s so when Unity has coordinates and it
8345s freaks out on either the volumes of
8347s float values or say a rebble like this
8350s piece here it's not properly spawning on
8353s top of the world so it's infly falling
8356s and for each segment of
8359s for each segment of fall so it like
8362s falls to the bottom of the world
8364s teleports back up to the to the roof of
8366s the terrain and then it doesn't get all
8368s the way over the terrain so it falls
8369s back down here and kind of infinitely
8371s Falls which messes up with the
8373s positioning of the rubble and then
8375s eventually it'll just be teleported to 0
8377s because Unity has no idea where to put
8380s it um or it goes like into an infinite
8383s negative value and and it creaks out
8385s because of that um and
8388s that the reasons for why it starts to
8392s get an incorrect position value in the
8394s first place is partially because the
8397s rubble was incorrectly
8398s spawned and that's what um Gabriel's
8402s latest things have been revising to
8405s making sure that Rubble actually
8407s spawns on the tile and above it and not
8410s like in the terrain or away or or you
8412s know something else crazy
8415s um so it should remedy a lot those
8419s cases um the vehicles are still a little
8424s bit
8425s volatile
8427s but we're on a good track to get most of
8431s those issues sorted as we're going
8433s through
8435s things the vortex of 0 is one of my
8437s favorite unexpected byproducts yeah the
8440s um build a house by z0 and guaranteed
8443s free
8444s Iron um I think the motto was
8454s um and then we have our
8458s amazing performance Tech wizard
8460s Gregorius looking
8462s into some of the optimizations and and
8466s Jordan also poked poked his nose into
8469s the core networking
8472s code so hopefully going forward we'll be
8475s able to do an upgrade the pass on that
8477s and make it a lot more
8483s smoother remember when all the boats
8485s going into a boat
8486s graveyard

8493s was watching some of that uh that
8495s TLS um footage and I I don't know like
8499s you guys were having a blast

8524s know this is going to be the quality of
8526s the released boats the way they're
8528s behaving uh so you know um it uh it was
8534s interesting but it was also a lot of fun
8535s to watch because you know you guys are
8537s are fantastic of making making most
8541s ridiculous situations looks like they're
8543s half intended and just having a blast
8546s doing it um so

8782s quality of life for building in general
8785s and um with all the changes to kind of
8788s animations and surrounding surrounding
8791s Parts back and forth and seeing how
8794s everything kind of works uh and what
8797s doesn't
8799s work um Luca had a I sat down with Luka
8802s the other day and we kind of looked over
8806s uh building adjacent see in some of the
8807s quality
8810s things
8812s um and just like the hurdle of
8816s building um so that was that that was
8818s something that we did the other day and
8821s um he broke it down and did a pass on
8823s kind of the the mathematical Logic for
8825s how to how blocks like when you're
8828s building a block how it's interacting
8830s what it's trying to use um in adjacency
8833s with other
8834s blocks and how to make it easier
8838s um can I ask what's happening with mini
8840s mapmap
8841s disappearing
8845s um do you mean on your end or is do you
8848s have do you have a malfunctioning
8855s map
8858s um
8860s so on kind of the quality of life
8863s Improvement things here and you know
8866s looking over revising both our our old
8869s system and looking over what we want to
8871s make and what we want to kind of do to
8873s make
8874s things be easier to do for building and
8878s um you know what other games in the
8880s genre is looking you know are doing and
8882s how they're kind of getting around into
8884s different problems and what they're
8885s doing to alleviate the Pains of
8889s building
8891s um we noticed
8895s that like there's a couple of things
8897s things that we don't really have that
8899s other do that kind of Mak sense like if
8902s you're looking at
8903s say uh just a couple of examples like
8906s Space Engineers where you have a yet
8908s pack that you can be flying around and
8909s and making kind of like block to surface
8911s block easier to you know place so they
8915s don't have a way like you have to look
8917s at the Block and the face of the block
8919s to be able to place something against it
8920s you can't place something adjacent on
8924s the
8925s Block and that'll kind of place it next
8928s to
8929s it um I know there's a couple of
8932s Building Systems that does some of that
8936s um but you know in in the example like
8938s Space Engineers you can't you have a yet
8940s pack which kind of difficult to do in
8943s Eco
8945s um you know in in this era
8948s of hey you know you're you're working
8951s with stone
8952s tools um it's not like we want to do
8954s likey you know you have to wait until
8956s you get a modern hammer and you get the
8957s technology to be able to get any kind of
8959s improvements to your building
8962s style um and Minecraft gets around this
8966s by being able to like hit shift to sneak
8971s and that'll allow you to you know go way
8974s above a tile into the air and kind of
8977s get around it and kind of place it on
8979s the
8980s backside um to extend say a bridge or
8984s something but that really didn't fit
8987s well in what we were trying to
8989s accomplish like it makes no sense for
8990s you to kind of sneak up to a corner and
8992s then kind of fly almost partially to be
8994s able to build it um it works for natural
8997s terrain blocks like this where you can
8998s kind of get to the side of it and slide
9000s on it but if you have a flat block it
9004s makes it really difficult to kind of
9007s angle away and look over the corner and
9010s and not fall down and so on
9013s so um breaking it down to discussion
9017s like Dennis and seeing you know he's
9018s talking a lot with the community and the
9020s Builders of the community and seeing you
9022s know their feedback and and their
9024s opinions
9025s and um getting some sourcing there and
9029s then I sat down with LCA and kind of
9031s broke things down and revised really
9033s where we want to be going and how like
9036s increase the general quality of life so
9040s um Lucas set together some some cool
9042s math to that determines whether or not
9045s you're seeing a certain surface piece
9046s piece of the tile
9048s and um it is now presenting itself in in
9052s some quite cool ways of building that
9057s is way easier than it was and it's such
9061s a huge quality of life for when you're
9063s building how you're
9064s placing so if you're not seeing some
9067s surfaces it'll mirror the block and
9070s place it in that direction based on
9073s where on the Block you're looking so if
9074s you're looking up in a corner it'll
9076s place it diagonal
9078s if you're
9079s looking um you know on the side if you
9082s don't see the right side and you're
9083s looking towards the right side it'll
9085s place it there if you have your pointer
9088s outside um and this kind of works in
9091s every single
9094s Direction and it is hopefully going to
9098s be a huge help to a lot of the really
9102s really cool things people are building
9105s um and just you know being able to do
9108s these more efficiently in a normal way
9111s rather
9112s than someone that uses like an admin
9114s flight mode in a creative
9117s world um has more opportunities to build
9120s these
9122s things
9124s um what about the build mode where your
9127s body is locked in place and you can move
9128s your camera around in a radius around
9130s you pick and place up blocks
9134s um it's actually something I was
9137s tinkering with um um I was
9142s U poking at a mod that does that for uh
9147s valheim
9149s and overall it's a really big thing to
9154s kind of do but it it also really breaks
9159s a large volume of the immersion and kind
9163s of the interact ability of building
9167s it's also absolutely terrifying if
9168s you're walking by a place and suddenly
9170s blocks start to pop out out of nowhere
9172s next to you because someone is building
9173s next to
9174s you
9176s um so it you know it was on the it was
9179s on the topic of things that I was
9181s looking into
9183s when uh Discerning and kind of digesting
9186s all the feedback we got from building
9188s from all the play testers in
9190s uh um 10.0 during during all these kind
9194s of play tests so every everyone that has
9197s posted both uh negative constructive you
9200s know feedback as well
9202s as uh you know all the praise and
9204s everything and and all all the aspects
9207s around it um once again cannot thank
9210s people enough um it's been a huge help
9214s uh both in determining how much we want
9216s to push things what we want to do
9219s and
9221s um yeah it it it's been it's been huge
9225s um

9238s Shifting out so everything is rotatable
9241s instead of automatically adjusting in a

9359s cool Ambience to
9362s it um in different shapes and different
9366s forms um adding
9368s some some much
9371s needed visual
9374s um some visual stuff and do like I don't
9378s know I I I found myself using them
9380s mainly for like mines and and
9384s whatnot uh are there more block shapes
9387s coming out specifically diagonal
9388s vertical blocks
9391s um o diagonal diagonal blocks are
9396s overall
9399s a um a can of worms to kind of get
9405s into because
9408s of kind of limitations
9412s versus not sure what I want
9415s to say on it just like the there's
9418s there's a lot of potential for it but
9419s there's also a lot of possibility for
9421s like crazy overhead and um like as soon
9425s as you start adding one diagonal block
9427s or something you know you want to be
9428s having 27 different diagonal blocks for
9431s every single type of block
9434s form um
9437s which can kind of get out of hand very
9442s quickly um so you know more block forms
9447s are definitely coming more more block
9449s materials are
9451s coming um but to what extent and exactly
9455s what these are going to be um you just
9457s have to
9458s uh keep keep up to date on changes and
9462s progression on the development as we go
9464s along on this amazing

9584s here is outside the influence of the
9587s town but that's fine because what Our
9590s intention is here
9592s is um so on the topic of settlements
9597s and
9600s uh on the topic of like settlements and
9603s and general U so for settlements and
9605s it's cultural expansion you need to have
9607s a cultural value of the
9609s property and the way you get a cultural
9612s value for that property is making sure
9614s that your property type
9616s is not a residence so previously all
9620s plots were equal if you
9622s will and all plots were basically
9625s residential or and you know and didn't
9627s care um however now with the changes to
9630s settlements um any foundation plot or
9634s deed is going to be cultural by
9636s enforcement because it needs to be a
9639s cultural property to grow
9641s influence and that is also the way to
9643s expand your Town's influence is
9645s switching over this to a cultural deed
9648s which then prevents any housing points
9650s from being generated on
9653s it but instead it's using it's using and
9657s creating culture based on the same
9660s restrictions as you have in
9663s housing um so you have cultural rooms
9665s you've got
9666s bathrooms
9668s um and we've got some more stuff that's
9672s planned
9674s um but yeah so a property plot has to be
9676s a cultural plot for it to count towards
9679s the town and then you have some
9682s limitations to towns where a town can
9686s only have a certain amount of total
9688s cultural properties so you can't take a
9690s town and just expand it infinitely
9692s across the globe um it does have
9695s limitations in terms of how big it can
9698s grow same thing for countries countries
9700s have a higher cap but they're subject to
9702s the same thing so you can never have a
9705s worldwide
9706s spanning single settlement of the lowest
9709s tier unless you change that out in the
9711s settings so if you completely remove the
9714s restrictions for the amount of cultural
9716s plots um you can just keep expanding it
9719s with different types of um cultural
9723s thing like cultural plots and and kind
9724s of like keep growing the town
9729s um is there any update of or
9732s enhancements of the in-game voice SLV
9734s think we I think we were using the iname
9736s vibu solution in general and it has a
9737s few issues with quality and range U vibu
9740s is still a thing that's we're using
9743s bakedin um
9746s and there are I believe there were some
9749s issues with the unity version we're
9751s using I not really the right person to
9754s be answering
9756s that um because I am not involved in
9758s that part at all and maybe if you ask
9762s Jordan nicely he can he might be able to
9765s shed some light on that
9769s um because we've had some some some
9772s general issues back and forth with it
9775s um but wox is also kind of standard use
9778s in a lot
9780s of um a lot of the applications for it
9782s so it you know it might just be weird
9785s Unity things with our specific build
9787s that is causing it so you know maybe
9790s once we go forward with um another Unity
9793s upgrade some of those might be resolved
9798s um see here what what was I doing I was
9802s doing so I wanted to have a dirt layer
9804s there but I also want to have yeah know
9806s just just let's just drop down a wall
9809s there drop
9812s down um drop down a line there and we'll
9816s just build this here just we just so we
9818s can kind of get the basic shape of the
9820s house
9821s done shows up block and then we'll use
9824s this and we'll build it and then we'll
9827s build it and we'll build it and this is
9830s so fantastic I haven't really gotten
9833s opportunity to build a larger structure
9834s with the system yet but just building
9837s like a mediumsized house is is
9841s phenomenal um so yeah personally I love
9845s it let me know what you
9848s think there we go and then you are up
9852s there and you are up
9853s there so we'll just seal this off here
9860s and get some some basic shape here going
9863s so we want to be building up to that

9879s because of the legislation on tiger that
9881s uh prevents people from using the
9884s company mod prevents uh or forces
9888s players that are collaborating SL
9890s playing with each other to be kind of
9892s one cohesive unit of

9907s uh uh that'll be a big help with
9909s building don't mind putting up a
9910s scaffold for RP build but sometimes you
9912s just want to done you just want it want
9914s to get it done without all the falling
9916s off the roof yeah and it's a lot of it's
9919s a lot of that that can feel it can feel
9923s very
9925s minor
9928s um in terms of
9932s like
9933s um the general use
9936s things but it can

9944s astronomical when when it comes to a lot
9946s of those quality of life things and I
9948s want to do what do I want to have
9954s here I'll just leave that as is and do

9977s blocks um Oh you mean you mean when I'm
9979s using a
9983s line or which which part of
9992s it um because the line placement one is
9996s probably going to get removed so like if
9998s you have if you're using a form
10000s type and you set like your your starter

10009s um yeah it that that thing is probably
10012s going to get nuked
10016s um is that there's still there's still a
10018s couple of things that
10023s um I'm not
10027s entirely um happy with from a from just
10031s a general use SL design perspective so

10036s you know things are still subject to
10037s change they're still work in progress um
10039s and we're still going you know actively
10042s evaluating uh some of these things and
10044s there's still a
10046s few block forms types that this math
10051s isn't
10052s completely 100% width um depending on
10056s the distance if I do like this it can
10059s have it can have a hard time placing
10061s that top block because of the shape of
10064s the Hune so
10066s some of that is still
10069s being looked into and kind of like how
10072s how and what we want to deal with these
10073s things and one of the things that we
10075s were looking at was
10078s potentially um instead of using the mesh
10081s to kind
10082s of look at and see where the block
10084s interactions is um just use the actual
10086s Cube the position placement
10090s is
10092s um to kind of deal with uh um oddly
10096s shaped blocks like in in case of like
10098s the intersections here for the pillars
10100s so if you would just Target this block
10102s it would Target like Target the square
10105s the block is in it would Target the
10107s block so there are a couple of things
10109s that we're still kind of Highly
10110s experimenting with in regards to like
10113s this core aspect of
10116s it um try putting pillars on top of each
10120s other from an under angle yeah
10124s um
10125s we do Point placement
10128s here um the new system is whole
10132s different story of being able to do this
10135s much much
10146s easier and I know these used to be an
10149s absolute nightmare to try to get fit and
10151s and mash
10154s correctly
10159s um so yeah there's a lot of a lot of
10160s small Quality quality of life things
10163s like that that we've been looking into
10165s and and really trying to nail down to
10168s uh um to help alleviate some of it um
10172s and also just general improvements
10176s um to just make this
10179s update as successful
10183s and uh as awesome as we can make
10187s it we have thump all of that in there

10295s efforts of Art and the art team and and
10299s Toby being investigating into it as well
10302s as um uh um Giovani uh who made the um
10308s all the shaders and everything that for
10310s the cameras and the eel so it's a bit of
10314s an experimental thing so once when you
10318s have an object and it doesn't have like
10321s a direct background it'll try to find
10323s the position of the block right behind
10326s it if the if the space behind it is
10329s occupied and it'll just slip into place
10334s behind it and
10335s this should be working with every single
10339s entity that uses a backdrop
10343s filler um so I wonder if we have do we
10346s have some
10347s Decor uh I don't think we have some uh
10352s oh what are they
10354s called
10358s uh I cannot for the life of me remember
10360s what I when I named
10363s them uh uh other ship right or is it
10367s glass
10368s working one or the
10371s other probably glass working we have
10373s that enabled
10375s but do we have enough of it out and do
10378s we have
10381s some uh glass booies that's what I was
10385s looking
10389s for no we don't have any
10392s crafted um but basically anything that
10394s really is kind of like hanging out
10397s should be kind of wanting to attach
10399s itself to the surface behind it so
10401s that's also kind of a huge Improvement
10404s to things you you know you don't have
10406s floaty stuff

10410s um and people on the play test if you're
10414s poking this out um give this a go for
10417s give it give it a run for its money and
10421s uh have at it to see if you can find
10424s positions where this thing doesn't obey
10426s the the the rule sets it should be doing
10428s and you know kind of freaks out or do
10431s does any other kind of weird things but
10433s now that we have some back surfaces and
10435s we can grab some picture
10437s frames let's grab those
10441s two we can show you off

10450s um as you can see here we can do this
10452s and we can we can handang some of those
10454s are are incorrectly kind of flipping
10456s back and forth I know there is there is
10458s an open issue about portrait frames
10461s being like they're they're placing
10463s themselves sideways um so they're
10466s flipping
10467s 90° um but I believe it was an issue
10471s with some of some of the entities
10475s seemingly not wanting to play nice there
10477s we go that's a wide frame and it's a
10479s tall frame and then a portrait frame so
10481s one of these I
10483s think is is going to be behaving so one
10486s of them flipping and then yeah the
10489s portrait stays um the tall one is is
10493s kind of
10495s reversed um so the portraits and like
10498s all of the picture
10500s frames um you open this up uh does this
10502s work for hanging signs as well this
10503s should be working for anything that uh
10506s requires a backdrop so signs I'm not
10510s entirely
10511s sure because they don't have a back
10513s requirement but I think they should
10516s be um it was merged just the other day
10519s so I haven't had really time to test it
10520s out
10522s properly um but yeah so you grab a a
10526s portrait frame and at the moment um each
10529s additional object on the property with
10531s the same artist its values died by 50%
10535s so if you have a whole bunch of
10537s portraits like a bunch of art that's
10539s made by the same person it'll keep
10541s diminishing it if you got multiple
10543s different people it'll
10545s kind of keep the value up so in here you
10547s can just drag that piece in there and
10549s you get the option to enlarge to fill it
10552s or depending on the aspect ratio on the
10555s portrait uh or on the picture we do this
10558s and let's dump off that
10560s property and it is rendered on them with
10563s you know all the shadings and
10565s everything
10569s um so in this case it is a sideways it's
10573s supposed to be the opposite the
10574s direction so this flipped
10576s incorrectly um but yeah these are these
10580s are shown
10581s and um they're in there they're working
10585s um and as I answered earlier to to uh
10589s grumbles in
10590s particular um we have a way to import
10594s textures from your you know your local
10596s machine so you can actually grab you
10599s know screenshots or um you know photos
10602s or images or whatever
10606s um and upload them into the game but
10609s when you do that depending on the server
10611s settings it has different administrative
10613s settings to do
10615s that um one of them being a size
10618s limitation so you can limit the size of
10620s the the files that is allowed to upload
10623s towards the
10625s server um you also have an
10627s administrative
10628s panel um such as this for when someone
10632s is uploading an image um at the moment
10635s it's kind of doing it for all pictures
10637s being created which is got a cleanup uh
10641s got some of the cleanup stuff that's
10642s happening so when you upload an
10645s image um you can add more moderators as
10648s well so you can add and edit who can
10651s manipulate and change and approve things
10653s or delete things you can review you can
10656s check if they're unreviewed you can
10658s check if they're
10659s approved and um you can also delete um
10665s either you know if someone uploads the
10667s same thing 27 times you can delete the
10670s 26 pieces and just leave the one or if
10672s someone uploads something inappropriate
10674s you can delete it when you delete it
10676s it'll kick up a prompt saying hey um
10680s you're deleting this image do you also
10682s want to kick slban this user so if
10685s someone is uploading something that they
10687s definitely should not be doing and you
10689s don't want to see at all on your server
10691s you can do that as well so that will

10753s can click it you can download a picture
10756s um to your PC so you can go in and check
10759s out someone's art and go like hey this
10760s is a really cool picture I want to grab
10762s it so instead of having to you know grab
10765s a print screen yourself grab the image
10769s and then trying to resize it or whatever
10772s and lose quality Distortion and
10774s everything um you can just download the
10776s picture in the native quality of the
10780s upload and then post that and use that
10783s instead
10785s and then here you can kind of show the
10786s different culture yields on the
10789s selection of settlements so you know if
10791s you want to test out
10792s say uh if I place this in riverborne how
10796s much culture is riverborne or how much
10798s culture would riverborne gain from
10801s this uh comparatively and then you know
10805s if it's like o this this settlement has
10807s no reviewers for this image which means
10809s it would be really highly valued there
10811s you can try to pitch and sell it for a
10813s higher higher GR
10815s value um so yeah that
10820s is um essentially this and then you can
10823s also with the new component for for
10826s selling
10827s things you can also do things like this
10830s and you can set it
10831s for set the currency for euros in this
10834s case and then choosing my
10838s account um and then do like 50 or
10843s something
10845s and
10846s then when someone is looking at this
10849s image they can get the option to buying
10851s it and that'll
10854s sell the frame and the image and
10856s everything in in one go and it'll drop
10858s into their inventory if they have
10861s space so this allows for and and this
10866s sale component I have not added it to
10868s vehicles yet because vehicles require a
10870s bit more testing because they contain
10872s Deeds um
10874s which makes it a bit awkward however the
10877s for sale component is available for all
10879s World objects across in general which
10882s means you can place down furniture and
10885s doors or craft benches and
10887s whatever and you can set this up on
10892s anything um to allow people to buy
10896s objects in the
10899s world
10902s um what while having them placed so you
10905s technically don't need a store to be
10908s able to start selling
10909s things in terms of like World object so
10912s like your initial crafting stations that
10914s you craft um if you're a logger or a
10917s carpenter or you know a miner or
10919s whatever
10921s um you can just sell them out on on your
10924s lawn
10933s basically
10940s um I guess you can't buy a town
10943s um uh at the moment um it's not yeah
10947s yard sales basically um it is behaving a
10951s bit it it is a bit misbehaving when it
10954s comes to U um to Stakes because
10958s of um it currently doesn't really check
10961s if you if you're allowed to own the
10963s property inside that deed or um some of
10967s the other kind of legged like Civic
10970s structural and Architectural systems
10972s that are in place that prohibits you
10973s from owning like deeds in multiple towns
10976s when you're a resident of another and
10977s and back and forth so on so there's
10979s still a couple of things that needs to
10980s be tested for
10982s that
10984s um uh does it sell the actual item so it
10987s moves or makes a copy it sells the
10988s actual item so the the user that buys
10991s this picture gets the picture item as
10993s well as the frame and it gets it it um
10996s deconstructs from the world um and gets
10999s placed in their
11004s inventory um so you
11006s know um adds more possibilities and um
11011s just more levels more levels of depth to
11015s interactions in the world of the game
11018s which is something that is
11020s um something we're really pushing for
11023s just more things to do in the
11026s world um outside of just kind of like
11030s collect ore Jump Around um collect you
11033s know carcasses and and rinse repeat
11036s XYZ
11039s um kind of
11042s went all over there so we want to do
11045s that
11047s there so this is for example a good way
11050s to kind of use that move function uh
11052s because otherwise I'd need to open up
11054s the UI uh I would need to pick up the
11056s printing the picture item um like grab
11059s it out of the slot and um to be able to
11061s pick the um the painting
11063s up so now I can just move it
11069s initially um is there going to be
11070s changes to rep calculation compared to
11072s Version 9 culture from culture gain from
11074s rep was changed between the first and
11075s second ESO test I'm wondering if that
11077s was intentional yeah so what happened
11078s with that is that the
11081s network basically U the net Network
11084s multiplier was applying to pictures
11087s which meant that the the reputation
11091s boost you got from just having like
11095s different people
11097s adding um reputation to it just
11102s scaled really
11104s quickly um which was very
11110s unintended so now it is completely
11113s additive
11118s um which is then also a lot easier to
11121s kind of adjust um in terms of balance
11125s for um like how much culture each player
11129s can contribute to the world per day what
11132s like limitations
11133s in
11135s um like how quickly can can a player or
11139s a town acrew enough culture to kind of
11141s generate a country uh um how much of
11145s these restrictions and so
11147s on um so culture just run uh the culture
11151s just benefits from relative culture
11153s without the network bonus yeah so it's
11154s just pure additive
11156s from um you know you don't get more from
11159s one player versus another however you do
11163s get there is a volume there is kind of a
11166s scale in it
11168s for um the users
11171s reputation as well as the actual
11173s reputation of the image
11177s versus um if it's like inside your town
11182s um different artists and so on so forth
11186s so there is there is still a couple of
11188s dynamic values in there
11190s that uh does affect it
11195s uh let's do that but it it's a lot more
11198s predictive now when you're looking at it
11200s and you're giving it points and you're
11201s seeing the value of it um um which was
11204s also a big kind of an issue for uh for
11208s the enal user it was just way too hard
11209s to deduct whether or not like how much
11212s each point would add to the total
11215s value
11218s um which made it kind of difficult and
11220s that's not really what we were looking
11222s for with that
11225s um the other big
11227s change that happened with that
11231s change um is also
11234s that um previously on the first
11237s iterations and and C A couple of the
11240s early iterations
11243s um
11245s culture it was pretty fun acting as a
11247s culture warlord with cat on the first uh
11250s sea alter test yeah um one of the issues
11253s that we we resolved by just kind of
11256s reworking how initial culture is
11260s gained um maybe I'm building a a little
11263s bit too high here kind of hoping to
11266s have yeah I'm think I want to do that um
11272s so one of the issues
11275s was um culture had a default value in
11279s the settlement
11282s foundations um which was removed during
11286s the last SE play
11288s test which made instead of the um
11292s instead of the foundations and the start
11293s points for the towns having it's kind of
11297s a start culture
11298s value they have a direct influence base
11303s value
11304s instead so if I'm looking at out of an
11308s example here so if we grab a town for
11309s instance you see a town needs to have an
11312s influence value and a base value to kind
11314s of be a
11316s town um and what we had was we do that
11322s and we're looking at the city hall bre
11323s example you see that the city hall is
11326s generating 141 influence radius versus
11329s the group D which is the plot I'm on
11331s right now is generating zero influence
11334s value
11336s and um the city
11339s hall is having that base influence
11342s radius from foundations which means it
11344s has a guaranteed influence radius from
11346s the start regardless if it's enabled or
11348s not um just as a town is just as the
11352s foundation existing
11356s basically um in the first iterations we
11358s were using the foundations had a basic
11361s cultural value but cultural value is
11363s applied from
11366s housing
11368s and that made this base value dependent
11373s on the housing material type so the base
11376s value that you got from the start was
11379s actually more worth once you started
11381s upgrading your house
11383s which was very contradictory to to what
11386s we had intended for
11388s it um so me and yon had a a lengthy
11392s discussion about how we kind of wanted
11394s to proceed to make it
11396s more make it more scalable make it more
11399s sense for the
11402s player
11403s and uh we agreed on having instead of
11406s having the culture on the foundation and
11408s the starter pieces just use a base flat
11411s value that would be easier to balance
11413s and easier to kind
11415s of deduct for players to see how big is
11418s their influence going to be uh because
11420s the influence is
11422s tiled
11423s so an influence of
11427s 125 is going to be
11431s 125 so in here it is basically the point
11436s of origin from the
11438s foundation in a radius out
11441s to the edge of that
11444s point the exception is if you have
11447s multiple towns competing and clashing
11450s then the strength of the culture and
11451s kind of the total value is going to be
11453s Shifting the borders back and forth
11455s depending on um which one has the
11460s higher which I'm running out of food
11463s here so let's

11859s so the twitch voting works in the way of
11863s or rather like the the core kind of
11867s system setup for it is
11871s um there there are some server settings
11873s that disallows allows it um but in the
11878s election process which is what kind of
11880s handles and controls
11883s it um this is you know your you're kind
11887s of how you set up the election there's a
11889s couple of basic ones and then there's
11891s the um the tiger can have a whole bunch
11892s of different types and variations but
11895s basically um the twitch one is set up as
11900s um if it allows the twitch plugin to be
11903s used the tool tip want to stay
11906s there um you have this twitch
11909s non-subscriber voting weight and then
11912s you have subscriber voting weight and a
11915s maximum
11917s percentage so you can set up like how
11920s much of a complete total
11923s capacity the twitch audience has
11926s availability to vote so you know even if
11928s everyone votes yes to this or you know
11931s to whichever specific thing is going on
11934s um you can limit them to like the total
11936s percent
11938s contribution um so say you know 10% then
11943s if you have 10 people voting then the
11946s the entirety of the
11948s twitch subscribers or or non-subscribers
11951s that are helping out and voting on this
11953s thing is never going to exceed one
11955s player um because that's the total
11957s capacity of that
11959s election um but then you can also tweak
11963s how much of a weight in comparison does
11965s a subscriber have versus a
11968s non-subscriber um and if it if it's
11970s available at
11972s all and then this plugin which Jordan is
11975s working on
11977s and um getting out there is having its
11980s own kind of interface and that will be
11983s it'll be
11985s displayed soon I hope um in terms of how
11988s it's how it's looking from the actual
11990s twitch side of things has its own kind
11992s of panel and you can see statistics and
11994s whatnot um but that's kind of how you
11996s enable it and then you can you have this
11998s election type that you just reference

12003s action or whatever
12005s else um as with anything so you know you
12008s set up a law that uses this election

12013s then that election will be having these

12164s expected go it sideways it's building
12166s that sideways but if I pull it
12169s forward it will try to build a staircase
12174s diagonal and this is done with
12179s any um any kind of angular staircase
12183s block thing so it does this for ramps it
12185s does this for like single block ramps as
12189s well um does this for like the half
12193s slopes and the asphalt blocks and and
12195s everything around

12198s um so that's an additional kind of
12200s quality of life building thing that we
12201s threw

13048s it won't let you unclaim same thing for
13050s like trying to
13051s claim outside of that radius which will

13057s claiming there would put your property
13059s way outside or at a higher value outside
13062s than what it thinks it should
13065s be um so that is something that players
13068s are going to have to tackle in terms of
13071s General complication
13074s for um comparative
13078s before and it also has some pretty
13081s significant
13083s gameplay balance perspectives and
13086s tactical perspectives that people have
13087s been using like one of the uh a favorite
13091s a lot of the The Meta gaming does is uh
13095s like bigger groups coming in on a server
13097s and then they immediately kind of waste
13099s a few claims to prop to to claim like
13102s the best oil plot on the
13105s map
13107s um and now because of how the settlement
13112s system
13114s works um you can't have like a homestead
13118s outside of a settlement you want to be a
13120s part of
13122s and the only way for a player to acquire
13125s more property is by being part of a town
13129s or a federation or or you know whichever
13131s layer of settlement you're
13134s in um which means if you want to claim
13137s things way off on the map you're also
13139s going to have to live there for a good
13142s portion of the time while other you know
13145s while kind of infrastructure is been
13146s built and Tech is been
13148s progressing um so that's a big change
13151s that players are going to need to deal
13153s with
13154s um one way or
13158s another um now the 10 release is
13160s announced does it mean it's in feature
13161s freeze or is there still something major
13163s coming no it's pretty much in in like 10
13166s has been pretty much feature
13170s complete
13171s um for a
13173s while um it's just been like a couple of
13176s things that have
13178s been ticked to make sure to get into 10
13182s that might not have been completely
13184s completely

13190s generally is is pretty much done in

13390s of like determining where or how the the
13394s object has to be placed to be claimed
13398s completely
13405s um and kind of make like either be like
13408s a percentage or that the entire thing
13410s needs to be
13411s claimed
13414s um so that will be it'll be a future
13418s thing that it might get fixed fixed and
13420s and Polished around
13422s um now is the perfect time to Rally
13425s troops to get Vicki um I think
13427s mechanically yeah probably um there are
13429s still going to be some tweaks to recipes
13432s most likely uh as those kind of get
13436s updated and and tweaked weekly until
13439s until actual release um so those might
13443s be a bit wonky to kind of keep
13449s uh
13451s well yeah I can just rotate the stock
13453s pile but kind of want the whole thing in
13456s there
13463s anyway and just squeezing in more dirt
13465s here so I can use it for terraforming
13471s later
13473s and uh yeah so as as armored was saying
13477s I can rotate it because the deciding
13480s factor is a a single tile
13483s here but because it's even it rotates
13486s with the
13488s object so I can do this and it'll just
13490s kind of switch over on the right side

13497s um makes sense to kind of squeeze it in
13500s more on the claim because I want this to
13503s be we excavate the whole thing downwards
13505s later anyway

13510s now we have that one in on the claim we
13514s can grab some of these materials and
13517s switch over and drop them in on the
13519s stockpile instead so we have a little
13520s bit
13521s more a little more control over the area
13524s and it it looks less
13533s catastrophic and now we have our
13535s construction posts as well so we
13537s can grab those in on the Deeds we can
13557s add there we go properties under
13569s construction now this is just in tier
13571s one materials we'll have to do a pass
13573s and and kind of shift this around into
13574s tier two later and then upgrade it to to
13577s all the way up to tier
13578s four um to get the most out of the value
13581s for the cultural
13583s stuff
13585s um so yeah I think we'll probably round

13668s bit on what profession wise you want to
13670s do and how involved you are um it's not
13674s a catastrophic thing not you know not
13676s being able to play daily and it is
13680s extremely codependent on like General
13684s governance and other people's activities
13687s and if the economy is set up if you have
13689s kind of a universal basic thing
13692s that um distributes currency slightly to
13696s people that need it or may not be as
13698s active and so on um like tiger does um
13702s does a lot for just casual
13704s players and I'm hoping that now that
13707s we're granulating settlements into more
13710s tiers um even if the entirety of the
13713s server may not like certain law certain
13717s like laws or implementations and so on
13720s that we have that tier of settlements
13723s that allows local bodies to do it so
13727s they can Implement their kind of local
13730s currency distribution and doing their
13731s own thing um and integrate upwards um
13736s throughout their
13738s playthrough rather than you
13740s know um say armored Stone as as you know
13745s just shatting um you should play on that
13748s speed when we start next season
13751s um but like if you know if he's super
13754s active and I'm not and then he decides
13757s that um since law previously were
13760s globally elected which you know there
13763s still kind of are if if it's revolving a
13765s federation where more people are
13767s encompassing the whole
13768s planet but now you can do that on a
13771s local scale where you know if I want to
13773s add a district
13775s that prevents people from picking wild
13779s plants in in my
13780s area but paying people if they're
13783s planting wild plants in my
13786s area I don't have you know if I'm over
13789s here I don't have a guy
13794s living like ubal here doesn't get to
13798s vote on whether or not to allow me to
13801s pay for people picking plants
13803s here or you know planting plants or
13806s picking pants and and taxing things or
13808s paying people um
13810s because that was one of the big hurdles
13813s when it came to the Civic the old Civic
13815s system where you know if you wanted to
13817s do something in this area and you wanted
13818s to improve the lifestyle or you want to
13820s pay for building roads here then the
13823s guys over here could just say no you
13825s can't do
13827s that which is going to be a significant
13830s change in terms of how these things can
13832s grow dynamically on a
13836s server um so yeah looking forward to
13838s seeing a lot of that um and uh I said

13905s living in a homestead you can only claim
13908s up to the the limit of the homestead
13912s which
13913s is um
13916s 16 on default at the moment let move
13919s this into solid land so it's properly
13923s placed

13928s on need to B restart to update
13932s um it uh like I said here the my my
13936s Homestead here I can only claim 16
13938s claims and that's the end of it like I
13940s cannot add more plots to claim here
13943s unless I'm part of a settlement so this
13946s Homestead as I'm part

13951s uh as I'm part of
13954s this town here and we have that we have
13959s the where did I put it there we have
13962s this one here as we're part of Serenity
13963s Grove I can claim 14 tiles here I can
13967s grab these claim
13969s papers that tells me you know it removes
13971s the amount I can claim in
13974s total but because my Homestead is part
13977s of Serenity
13978s Grove
13980s um and it really doesn't like me because
13983s I moved it around there's still some
13985s some slight issues with the movement
13987s thing um now Lucas working on
13990s it um but it's basically I can put I can
13994s put those Serenity papers in here
13997s because the homestead is tied to the
13999s same
14000s settlement and now I can claim more
14002s plots because I've added papers and can
14004s upgraded the claim uh the homestead
14009s stick so that's your hard your kind of
14011s hard limitations if you're completely
14013s outside settlements you will not be able
14015s to claim more property than what the
14018s server has set for the minimum or the
14020s maximum value of plots for the homestead
14022s which is by default
14025s 16 um so yes some industrial crafting
14028s professions could do that and they could
14030s stay off you know they could stay off
14033s the beaten path but um I know armored
14037s you you probably noticed this as well
14039s like if if someone has a food store next
14042s to you versus someone that is slightly
14045s cheaper because no no taxes and he lives
14047s you know 15 minutes away
14050s um you're most likely going to be buying
14052s from the guy closer even though it's
14053s slightly more expensive because it saves
14055s you up on travel time especially since
14058s food is kind of bulky weighty um crops
14061s to sell it is a lot more weighty now so
14064s you can't carry you know 1,400 corn to
14067s sell to the to the chef just to dump it
14069s and and buy food from him you're going
14071s to need some sort of infrastructure to
14073s carry more than two 300
14075s crops um so there's a lot of a lot lot
14079s of other kind of layered restrictions in
14081s that system that uh just disables some
14085s of those cheesiness there's also the
14088s issue of who pays the taxes where is the
14091s taxes being
14092s paid
14094s um and you know you can also subsidize
14098s certain things in your in your District
14101s as well or in your area um so you know
14104s there's that
14106s anyway call it the night there um hope
