123s we've been looking at the data and the
124s performance that's coming out of it
128s it's looking pretty impressive I barely

134s so this is kind of kind of the same as
137s the previous playtest video and
139s on before that where
141s I try to avoid taking a look into some
145s of these builds having sort of a I don't
148s know a bit of a reaction while they're
150s all going over them as well

163s um as as you've probably seen if you're
166s keeping in touch with the Discord
168s information flow uh bugs gets fixed as
171s we're being as they're being discovered
173s that's where hammering them out
174s um if you keep extra attention to the
176s code stream you also see that things are
178s happening quite
180s readily along the way we've got everyone
182s working really hard too
184s making sure that we get these these
186s fixes out as quickly as possible but at
188s the same time being stable enough to
191s not warrant other issues
194s the main topic for this stream is as you
198s can tell from the top play test has a
202s given
203s but also
205s kind of the balance aspect of it as as
207s one of my expertise areas
211s in these changes I do
213s a bit of buggy fixing here and there
215s where
216s related to Tech Tree and some of that
219s implementation and
221s most recently I took a look at and fixed
225s up the damaged perks from the logging
228s and Mining
230s and they should be fixed now with
233s Minister merged out
236s um and with that fix I also took a look
240s at
242s related to the balance changes so after
244s I fixed up and went over the calculation
246s for
247s how the damage is calculated when you're
249s mining from the tool where the damage
252s has an attribute and
255s the values from
258s the theater and the different perk
259s attributes and so on so forth once I had
261s that figured out and I had and I cleaned
264s it up
265s I noticed that we had a very big
266s discrepancy in terms of damage being
269s applied how it's being applied and
272s the resulting effects in terms of the
274s value of the damage perks especially for
276s mining
279s and kind of how you progress through the
284s tiers but if you got
286s acid as it stood even running with the
290s tier and using like a stone pickaxe you
292s didn't really see a big Merit
295s until very late game to upgrade and even
297s very late game you you know you'd get
300s along with like an iron pickaxe or even
302s a stone picking or you'll pickaxe you
304s didn't really have a necessary need to
307s go the full length of getting
310s continually having an upgraded tool to
313s make that work
316s so I took I took a deep dive into that
319s and
321s just making sure that we have a more
324s appropriate level tearness of it so now
327s you're looking at
329s the stone and the mineral varieties
333s running from a hit points of one to five
335s rather than
336s and the full sequence of one two three
338s four five
339s which before was tiered at one two or
342s six
345s so now you're gonna be having
347s a much more required
351s hopefully a higher wish to upgrade tools
354s I can pop out some spots here

414s and now that the stone the pickaxes are
417s working properly with the damage related

420s as well as the axes themselves are also
423s being attributed properly with the
425s damage modifiers
428s um you are having a more reflective
431s progression over

444s you are going to have a more scaled
446s progression for your technology where
448s where you want to stay sort of open
450s areas either through the grassland or
453s desert areas where there's a more softer
456s Rock pipe for your initial start

463s iron tools build tool it makes it easier
466s to get into the mountain biomes where
468s the rock is generally harder
471s and I'm hoping that more people are
474s gonna be vying for different Talent
477s choices as well because you have that
478s damage perk that does bump the ear of
481s the two in a sense
485s I'm looking forward to see some of that
486s resulting on the next play test because
489s that is currently not live yet
496s and it is looking really impressive guys

501s how I feel in a lot of these cases where
504s you have these
506s crazy builds and crazy commitment and
508s Devotion to

513s both helping out with reporting bugs and
515s everything but also with the general
517s building and just
519s the scale of things happening on the
521s servers and the depth of Civic use on
524s tiger this time has been phenomenal it's
527s helped us find

532s a very high quantity of bugs that would
535s have been very hard to test for without
536s a real scenario to kind of
545s and some of the other General balance
548s changes for things that have come out
550s out of the play test was the lumber
552s recipe that I did major changes to has
555s been scaled down a little bit
557s I reduced the flaxseed oil required to
559s craft the lumber
562s I've gone over and also reduced the
565s general seed quantity requirements for
567s the for the general food oils
571s and I've also taken the opportunity to
574s do something that we've been testing on
576s tiger for a while and it's been working
577s and it's these electric transmission
580s poles have been kind of gated behind
583s industry for General vanilla gameplay
586s and these have now been completely
588s merged over into mechanics instead so
591s they're using iron plates instead of
592s Steel plates to make
594s so they're more available earlier on in
597s the game in reflection to the new
600s changes to electricity
602s and I believe
604s you should have a power plant somewhere
609s where we have some of these new fancy
611s electrical yet
616s we have a lot of Harbor buildings going

754s seen some some Doc shops and

1032s direct feedback out of it
1034s and we are planning for
1037s intermissionally here now we are
1039s planning for one new play test that will
1042s be paid out
1044s default kind of stock vanilla server
1048s so it will not be with tiger special
1051s concoction
1053s rule sets with with reset governments
1055s and so on so forth but this will be more
1057s of a
1058s plane
1060s straight up experience as you would
1062s punch a server and then get people on it
1064s and play
1066s which is going to be a different Outlook
1070s and I think a lot of different feedbacks
1072s than we see on tiger because of
1075s the high level of
1078s Administration in terms of either
1080s players
1081s managing players due to laws and Civics
1084s and so on so forth or just
1088s um the GMS which have been an astounding
1091s amount of work and
1093s really been
1095s crucial to uh to getting some of these
1098s things
1099s keeping some of these things just
1100s rolling
1104s we got some
1106s ocean building and some going on here
1113s plenty of use of boats I have said I I
1116s have seen some feedback regarding
1118s getting them slightly more Polished in
1120s terms of maneuverability or speed
1123s throttle increases yes students for that
1126s that I'll be
1128s looking into as well I'll also do a pass
1130s on road vehicles needs no it's gonna be
1134s somewhat unpopular in some of that
1138s regard but
1140s goal there being a more Universal
1142s approach
1144s ability for all things we have plans to
1147s add more
1148s specialized vehicles and specialized
1151s utility functions for the vehicles
1154s to give them certain powers in that
1157s direction
1159s stand them out from just being
1162s Logistics
1165s better Logistics if you build roads for
1167s it we do want boats to have that
1171s large-scale transport capacity
1178s but we also need to
1181s sort of keep in mind that the current
1183s transport boat is probably not going to
1185s be like the end year transport capacity
1187s one so
1189s the medium transport boat as is
1193s is more of a contestant Contender to the
1196s steam trucks capabilities rather than
1198s the modern truck version

1203s it'll have a hard time kind of competing

1209s when it comes to the modern era and the
1212s um as soon as you drop down asphalt
1214s which is currently available pretty

1218s the trucks just have a way too high

1222s somewhat obsolete the personal transport

1227s that I'll be looking in
1231s some adjustments to that
1236s happen in general
1241s I think the the YouTube channel already
1244s got this fairly common that's what it's

1250s wish we could have ceramic tiles for

1304s Sprint but it's really not noticeable

1307s and it is panning the camera a bit
1310s that's jerky
1317s would be cool to see a sports car Just
1319s For Speed with little or no storage yeah
1321s like a land-based personal transport

1327s I think it's uh it's a novel idea but my
1331s my experience is that people will want
1334s storage on it as soon as it's in England
1336s why can't we transport just a few things

1340s suddenly you have a NASCAR with uh with
1343s a truck storage by the end of it

1358s in an awkward spot right now not fast

1376s so the vanilla default setting
1378s won't allow you to build over deep ocean
1382s which it can allow bridging in some
1386s areas over certain passes where there's
1388s a lot of shallow
1390s but as soon as you get down to a biome
1394s or a deep ocean biome such as the the
1396s trench line here in the middle
1398s it's counted as devotion which will
1400s prevent you from building if you have
1402s that server toggle in it
1405s or
1406s yeah
1408s I think it's I think it's a false pool
1411s disable it like allow ocean building yes
1414s or no
1419s um

1424s so that will be something that is going
1427s to be a thing on
1428s the the other the the upcoming play test

1432s a basic experience

1437s where that setting will be enabled so
1438s you won't have that alternative of
1440s Building Bridges all over the place
1442s which is going to be interesting to see

1445s in general it works out of a gameplay
1447s perspective but
1449s also how much of an impact that could
1451s have on boats in general or
1456s you know people just prefer to build and
1459s everyone lives on the same island
1460s because of an inconveni or if
1465s you know we we create some
1467s some British monstrosity and everyone
1469s has towns all over and everyone just
1471s lives on the island and or just on the
1474s coastlines and no one lives you know
1476s Inland on the mainland just because they
1479s they don't want to worry about
1480s land-based Vehicles don't want to be
1482s bothered about roads since they have
1484s boats to replace them
1489s so looking forward to seeing how much of
1493s a change that's gonna be compared to on
1495s kind of and of course then Amplified on
1497s tiger use awesome restrictions

1506s what else did I have in the month
1508s um we do have the new brick recipe
1510s layers on Tiger has been
1513s I think it's mostly been positive you
1516s guys can can let me know I've been
1517s hearing mostly positive things about it
1519s so if I'm wrong and
1522s I'm way out there um you can correct me
1524s on that and this
1526s sunflower bridge I guess
1530s um
1531s why the white tiger had as we were
1535s testing recipes and as we have been kind
1537s of going over the difficulty and and so
1539s on so forth
1541s um
1543s I added that oil change to
1551s to the lumber and that really really
1553s changed out how Lumber was manufactured
1555s and which professions were involved and
1557s it made it made the farming a lot more
1559s involved in terms of the crafting
1560s process
1562s um
1564s it it became all evident fairly quickly
1568s on and I knew it was going to be a
1569s problem
1570s um from the get-go and that was bricks
1573s being too cheap
1575s um brick has been something that's been
1576s on
1578s on my radar for a while in terms of
1580s having to do something with it to make
1583s it fit in line more with
1585s the slightly varied requirements of
1588s glass but also
1590s the new really
1592s complex recipe in comparison of lumber
1597s and
1600s the way we kind of went about it was
1602s trying to figure out a way to make it
1605s feel like a reasonable change in terms
1609s of
1611s adding more professional dependencies to
1613s it but without
1617s um
1618s feeling like it's a
1621s sort of a
1623s big leap in terms of like pickwise or
1627s influence wise
1630s um
1631s and
1633s one of my reasonings was on that was
1636s kind of get logging in logging falls off
1638s when carpentry gets heavily dependent on
1640s and then it kind of falls into the
1642s Shadows a little bit it's a nice skill
1644s to have with the damage bonus later on
1646s for the harvesting but you don't really
1649s have
1650s you know you're not producing as much
1652s human furniture or
1655s certain crafting tables kind of runs out
1657s and you don't need to build as many of
1658s them and you kind of lose that repeat
1660s business as a logger and you're stuck
1663s with only selling raw materials
1667s and I wanted to introduce
1669s and make logging in more of uh
1672s universally required skill rather than
1676s just this is something that just a
1678s carpenter
1680s and adding wooden molds and and wooden
1684s forms to
1686s graph these bricks with made logging be
1689s heavily involved in in both tier 2
1692s recipes so they're
1695s um
1695s loggers represent
1698s um
1699s it made them more involved in just in
1701s general bass crafting
1713s looking at the kitchen it's really all
1715s the reality-wise that a full room is
1717s tier three because it doesn't optimal or
1719s domestic thoughts about having different
1721s tiers depending on what the matter of
1724s the
1724s pipe is

1728s it's an interesting

1737s just on like how the base system works
1740s right now I have difficulty seeing how
1743s that would be
1746s incorporated in
1748s with a natural
1750s um or new players understandable way

1757s all these fancy building blocks where I
1759s have reinforced concrete and it is tier
1761s 3 and so on so forth It's hard to gauge
1763s like all you need the flooring needs to
1766s be floor and the walls need to be walls
1769s so you could enforce it with specifying

1778s those as requirements for the spacing
1780s but at the moment the room calculator
1781s only checks
1783s the actual material
1786s and you can't really add value to it
1789s because each block has a specific tier
1793s tier one to four value and it just like
1796s it just basically averages it based on
1799s the amount of blocks available of the
1800s different team

1806s without making the room calculator a lot
1810s smarter

1813s it's a good idea
1815s um but it's would probably be hard to
1818s kind of represent than
1819s teach the player that he needs to be
1821s using certain materials for certain
1823s areas
1825s and as Miss Selden points out and
1829s forcing it would also reduce player
1831s creativity
1834s wallpaper or some sort of texture
1836s replacement sounds like a better
1837s alternative to make it
1839s feel better
1841s give it a more aesthetic
1843s more aesthetic choices in decorations
1853s but yeah so
1855s Rick's bricks got a one over
1858s um that recipe wasn't added to diagram
1860s until very very late so
1862s didn't really see a whole lot of with
1865s that said I'm surprised I don't see more
1866s brick buildings
1868s there is a couple and
1873s a few bigger constructions and
1876s some utility stuff but
1878s not a lot of bricks for
1884s uh considering how much easier it was to
1886s build bricks

1889s I'll start a talk about you so now that
1891s was probably the fishing troller
1896s industrial apartment
1908s there is some pretty pretty nifty
1911s buildings and pretty nifty use of
1912s verticality here
1914s it tugs fish out of the ocean
1916s technically
1919s I mean you're not wrong
1922s you are most definitely not wrong in
1923s that regard
1926s but some us industrial Workshop here
1929s with some rolling Mills some rolling
1932s Mills

1938s I don't know I'm
1942s gonna say I'm pretty impressed with

1946s and we'll do a normal play test
1951s after white tiger wraps up and we have
1954s some stuff that we need to we need to
1956s merge over and make sure that it works
1959s we have a couple of upgrades and some
1962s finalizing polishing some of our backend
1964s systems that's been going on to staging
1966s that hasn't been merged over the play
1967s test so
1969s that will be merged over as well oh and
1971s we got some cotton
1973s fields and beans some rice
1976s a bunch of mushrooms
1980s um and once that's merged over and
1982s everything works
1985s I want reliable
1988s not exploding again
1991s push out for a normal play test
1996s keep polishing keep hammering out these
1998s bugs as quickly as we can
2002s and then we'll likely have another tiger
2006s play test after that just to make sure
2008s that we do another pass of the big Civic
2010s changes and the big the big bugs
2013s this tiger does help us push that
2018s push that bug testing for the
2022s the new Civic and and
2024s legal systems to their very limits as
2028s we've seen before

2038s uh what is the biggest thing that you've
2041s learned from this white tiger play test
2047s ooh that's a tough question

2054s that is a very tricky question
2062s I think never underestimate the tenacity
2065s of players wanting a certain thing

2072s I think that I mean it's it's not
2074s necessarily something that white tiger
2075s in particular but white tiger do have a
2080s really
2081s impressive following

2086s and the core player base on white tiger
2089s is
2091s amazing people
2093s um and they bought heads against each
2096s other in the most spectacular manners
2098s and they disagree but most of the time
2101s come to some sort of agreement in
2104s between be it border disputes or
2107s tax discussions and pitchforks comes out
2109s and
2111s uh
2114s after server feels like it's on fire
2116s sometimes when you jump in on Discord
2120s but
2122s most of the time it is very civilly
2126s resolved either through jurisdiction in
2130s game or
2134s some sort of
2137s either you know collaboration or
2140s things shifts focus at
2142s they just gets resolved one way or
2144s another and
2147s Waylon is always selling pitchforks
2153s yeah the the changes for
2157s replacing quick lime into masonry and
2163s that's also a big one that I forgot I
2165s did since last time

2172s we did a pass on moving quick lime to be
2176s a masonry skill rather than a smelting
2178s so Advanced smelting has another thing
2180s they kind of need to be importing

2184s that was that was also a big kind of
2186s profession change that came along

2190s and it's been speculated for Tiger for a
2192s bit but
2194s it was always kind of in the background

2197s hesitant to adding it due to a lot of
2201s other restrictions from during previous
2203s versions but now in
2205s now that we came in 10 I could
2207s push that in there and here we have a

2443s so instead of using the hammer
2446s you would use the Stone Road or the the
2448s road tools
2450s as a hammer but the road tool would be
2454s specifically just for building roads

2478s yeah so the hammer would be you know
2480s you're building your housing materials
2481s versus the road tool would then be your

2582s it's always four pieces of rubble to one
2585s piece of crushed which is the equivalent

2591s regardless of the material confirmation

2596s or compression in terms of like you're
2599s you're using so and so amount of crushed
2601s over into a concentrate that's because
2603s concentrate is exempt from this rule
2608s um as it is a processed material and
2610s another naturally occurring one

2621s a road tool as Implement them the issue
2624s can arise with dirt how do we deal with

3070s because asphalt is just cheaper or as

3075s just quicker and you can get a better
3076s speed boost

3082s with as like a Nerf for land-based
3086s vehicles is making the asphalt come in

3092s but I'm also looking at
3094s opportunities to be able to ease more
3097s easily build roads mid game

3103s and as catfish just pointed out pulling
3105s up Stone roads back up is also
3107s incredible painful that's also part of
3111s what I have in mind for post 10 so we'll

3115s some of those reductions are gonna
3116s happen in 10.
3118s and then 10.1 or 10.2 will

3129s to get those assets in pretend
