[2020] Trains?

Trains are a planned feature we'd like to do but are not to be expected before final release. Boats are in the works.

They won't be, though, not wanting to make you any hopes.

Here is an idea as to what has been accepted and/or what the community has asked for and gotten to vote on in the past, these votes come from people who own the game on steam or through the website itself. Just a note on that for ya. Boats are the only really "confirmed" thing I can recall that would fit the bill for the question above. Perhaps before trains some form of cart linking or mid-game carriage linking could happen so you could theoretically have say 3 carts pulled by an Ox as some form of bulk transport. However that is just an idea.

they said boats were coming in the next major patch which was supposed to drop 2 months ago at this point.

No, we did not. The next major Update is 10.0 and is not scheduled yet. 9.5 and likely 9.6 will be before that. As for 9.4, that is still in QA.
