58s explosives uh go through a little bit
60s about how they work where you get them
62s um the tech Tre and kind of thoughts and
65s testing out and some of the
68s functionality for it so I am on one of
71s the uh uh one of the current open PR
75s side branches with some explosive fixes
77s and some changes to behavior so we'll
78s see if we we explode our way out of the
81s server or if everything plays nice now
83s so this is not the same behavior as you
85s currently have on staging and on the
87s play test it's stuff that will go into
89s play test here uh as soon as they pass

93s review so we'll kind of run through it a
96s little bit um when will we get nuclear
100s reactors probably not prior to 1.0 if if

107s um we'll see uh it is something that is
111s an interesting topic in terms of

365s explosives um and it's made in The
366s Machinist table right now it's still

382s available um way earlier we' also talked
385s about paper Milling on a general thing
388s and introducing something earlier for
389s paper
394s um but uh maybe you know wrapping it in
398s in cloth or
401s something um but the initial thing is
405s you get access to sulfur which is a new
408s ground terrain
410s material um you crush it up and for a
413s late game thing you have it as a
414s byproduct from uh oil refinery
417s production so it will come off
422s oil um you crush it up mix it up
426s together with uh compost and
430s charcoal um turns into black powder
432s together with paper turn it into
434s Dynamite that gives you bundle Dynamite
437s um and that has a certain blast
439s radius for the late versions of
443s it you have the black powder together
447s with
448s the uh um everything to make the
452s dynamite you also have added needs for
455s nitric acid and plastic as well as some
459s copper and ethanol in there so you are
461s going to go kind of full Tech Tree WID
463s to get access to the mining charges
465s which are available to do remote
468s detonations from as well as having a
471s bigger blasting radius
480s there's a couple of new things in here
481s with the um the
483s yellow being completely new ingredients
486s or
487s items blue ones being stuff that you've
490s seen before Green's the processing
494s tables um and it's kind of your general
496s Tech progression of it so it's fairly
498s integrated with a lot of already
500s existing things it puts heavy emphasis
502s on some of the professions that you may
504s not have a lot of things to do with at
507s the moment such as
508s fertilizer uh
511s um your my inner mining child is
515s cheering um and then we have remote
518s Detonator which is your new tool that
522s kind of on EO AIS for the mining
526s charges
528s um where you have uh make it out of
531s fuses Advanced circuits light bulbs and
533s plastic and fiberglass
542s um crushed sulfur as a byproduct I think
545s it Miller needs to crush charcoal um
547s it's using yeah it it's using charcoal
549s powder so it's taking either the
551s charcoal that you have uh or which I
555s actually forgot to list here as a little
558s thing um you do have another way to gain
561s charcoal
562s now which we we'll get into here as well
566s uh previously would the only way to get
568s charcoal would be to turn regular wood
572s into uh a kill and then process it into
575s shal um you now have a new method of
577s doing
578s it I do not remember

641s process you take Pete Churn it through a
644s Kil that'll turn out charcoal so it is
647s another way of gaining charcoal rather

651s just um from

658s time and P it is available in as a
662s replacement as we
664s showed have shown
668s um in Wetlands so the previously inside
672s Wetlands we do a little side section cut
676s here uh we do a little bit like this and
679s we just do a level there we
683s go so previously you had this layer of
687s dirt or clay in mixed um um that had a
691s pretty decent layer of coal like regular
694s binus stone
695s coal um that coal is gone it is coal no
700s more you now have a Pete layer in
703s between
705s um the dirt and the clay which means
708s you'll have less yal available coal
711s before you really start to mine
714s down um however unlike regular coal it
719s can be access exist and burnt directly
721s as the resource when you have when you
723s shovel
726s it pull that up do that I'm do SL

733s shovel so the Pete itself um is directly
737s is a burnable fuel by
739s itself it's kind of if people were
743s uh playing
745s uh with the old coal that you just m
748s shoving shove a furnace or whatever uh
752s Pete was always kind of intended to be
753s the replacement of it when we introduced
755s the crushed materials but
757s interdependencies with other things we
759s wanted to do with it it kind of got put
762s at the side
765s um for a later date now we've reached
767s the later date we finally have it
769s available as a
771s material U so that's a replacement
773s material for
776s it uh we digging up P to destroy
778s Wetlands so can you just leave the top
780s layer of dirt without causing any damage
782s at the moment you can just dig it up we
784s are experimenting a little bit with the
787s explosives in terms of General
790s environment shifts in terrain and ground
794s layers um with kind of the intention of
798s soft
799s layers W kind of
802s erode so if you're digging out a giant
805s hole in the ground it'll collapse SL
809s degrade eventually is the kind of goal
811s objective for
813s it so if you want to dig out something
816s below the ground you'd need to add some
818s sort of sane structural thing to it um
822s not directly shifted in towards like
824s pure structural Integrity per
826s se but with the explosives now being
829s introduced it opens up kind of small
831s venues that we can look at to do
835s this and some of it is already happening
838s with explosives that will show off
841s uh but yeah so coal is a little bit
844s diminished in terms of availability in
846s Wetlands you're not going to have as
848s easy access to it as you did before um
851s Pete's replacing that and it's also
853s offering kind of a way to scavenge
855s Wetlands for stuff to use U as
861s charcoal

865s uh so uh let's do give actually let's
870s give us a few more
872s Dynamite uh let's do 20 and then let's
876s do mining
878s charge 20 and then we do remote
883s Detonator so these are things obviously
885s that are work in progress things can
887s things can happen
889s unintentionally um and things may
893s change um up and
897s down uh yeah the balance value for Pete
900s in general is something that I'm still
902s kind of looking at in terms of how much
905s do I want it to be worth from the Pete
907s side of things to turning it into Char
910s hoal and
912s then um dealing with that but I do still
916s want Pete to offer a large enough
919s incentive to just be kind of used side
922s by side with
925s coal um which offers up coal to be used
928s more for General Ste
930s production and or paint
933s Etc so you anything related to balance
936s in that regard is still going to be
937s probably adjusted slightly
941s um and uh going to tweak around with
945s that um so for
948s explosives uh let us

954s do uh let's just do a flat Granite layer
961s we can have a nice little backdrop here
963s so we have the early tier which is the
967s dynamite and then we have the late tier
969s which we have the uh mining
973s charge and then we have a nice little
975s remote Detonator for
978s it um and this is also something that we
980s have we've been discussing internally
982s surrounding whether or not we want
984s explosives to Tri to trigger other
986s explosives so you can kind of chain
988s react them
990s um up and
992s down um and it's stuff being kind of
996s tinkered with um live during the play
999s test so you know behaviors might
1004s change um but yeah so early one is a
1007s straight up physical connecting thing
1009s you need to walk up to it you need to
1011s place it down and you need to light
1014s it and once it's lit there's no turning
1017s back
1019s is going to go
1021s boom and then we have the remote
1023s Detonator which you can also light up on
1025s the Fly um but you can link it to a
1027s Detonator and we're probably um yeah
1032s we're we're still still running into
1033s some bugs with
1035s it
1037s um the
1042s uh um general idea is to link it when
1045s you place it and then you can unlink it
1049s and then then once you have Dynamite
1052s placed and linked you just fire it off
1054s and it'll start going off one by one in
1057s sequence from the order of first place/
1064s L uh just to kind of do controll chain
1069s reactions um so it's going to be it's
1072s going to be fun seeing players play
1075s around with it and cause absolute
1077s Havoc um
1080s but there is a few things in it that we
1083s decided to do
1084s partially
1086s because General
1088s World
1090s stuff um but secondly I wanted it to be
1093s a meaningful interaction when it comes
1095s to
1097s mining um because I didn't just want it
1100s to be another way to kind of generate a
1102s whole massive ton of rubble for
1106s example um I wanted mining to have a
1108s significant impacting the choices and
1110s decisions the player do to how they're
1112s interacting with acquiring more
1117s materials um so the dynamite and the
1119s explosives are turning uh Rock and ore
1123s into their crushed variants so you're
1125s not getting if you want to have for
1128s example
1129s Rubble uh or collect Granite because you
1131s want it for statues where you need the
1134s solid Granite you're still going to need
1136s to manually mine
1137s it however if you're using explosives
1140s it'll not only fall down
1142s to um fall towards you know empty ground
1147s uh layering into it but it's also going
1150s to be turned into crushed variants which
1152s is skipping that uh mining crafting
1155s process step so even if you don't have
1159s mining anyone could buy dynamite and
1163s they can you know mine crushed materials
1166s by themselves but you still need mining
1167s to craft the dynamite ini
1170s initially uh but it kind of alleviates a
1174s bit of workload for the mining
1176s grind um coupled with the scoop for the
1180s steam
1182s tractor
1184s um and so
1187s [Music]
1191s on at the moment no so what materials
1195s they turn into is fairly preset at the
1197s moment
1199s but it is probably something that uh I
1202s might look
1203s at because it it would
1206s be it's slightly gamifying it further
1209s but it's not a bad idea per se cuz then
1211s you you know back to that whole
1213s balancing if you want crushed
1216s gravel don't blow it up further kind of
1222s thing um but yeah you know let's let's
1225s let's
1226s get explosive
1229s see if you place it
1231s out if it wants to be placed out there
1235s we go so is being a little
1238s bit reactive to
1240s it and then we light it up and it has a
1245s timer on it which is like 3
1249s seconds and then it shifts off the
1255s terrain and it turns it into gravel so
1259s uh there are some configurations for
1261s this um in terms of balance wise where
1265s you can have it set to uh cause a cause
1269s sort of a a void Gap um it deletes
1273s objects and and
1275s blocks
1279s um in between you have a like a
1282s percentage of material waste by this
1285s transformation whereas if you're
1288s handpicking with finding you have a
1289s absolute pure one:1 ratio of
1293s acquisition uh the configurations for
1295s the explosives do allow for a randomized
1298s chance of actually you know removing
1301s items
1304s um it's been something that we talked
1308s internally about whether or not we
1310s wanted it to be happening whether you
1312s know for if we wanted it to happen to
1314s blocks that are transforming into other
1317s blocks
1319s um because one of the obvious things
1321s here would be you know can you just use
1323s Dynamite to continuously delete uh
1327s tailings for example if you have like a
1329s field of tailings can you just shove
1330s Dynamite on it and then use that
1332s percentage or kind of thing to delete it
1335s continuously um at the moment you
1337s can't because I do not believe it should
1339s be eating things that it cannot
1342s convert um on the other hand it is
1345s costing resources to craft the dynamite
1347s so maybe we want to allow it to happen
1350s as an off
1354s thing doesn't want to be linked we'll
1358s just have to uh manually exploded the
1360s ranged
1361s ones um yeah so claim protection still
1365s works um there's no changing that same
1367s thing with Civics uh
1369s Etc uh the only thing that is kind
1373s of um iy
1376s is um land shift
1381s aren't really legally
1384s prohibited
1386s um so you know basically don't build
1391s Gardens next to Giant tall mountains if
1393s you don't have part of the mountain
1406s claimed uh will miners get calorie bonus
1409s just using shovels um I
1415s believe I believe it is
1420s um under self-improvement right
1424s now I
1428s think um but yes ranges and radiuses are
1431s still being tinkered with in terms of
1434s balance um but it
1437s is um same thing with like cost values
1441s in terms of you know how much these
1444s explosives are going to
1446s cost but it is an interesting way to
1450s uh get stuff shifted
1457s around and the same thing for effects
1460s and and general bfx sounds and things
1462s like that is also being kind of tinkered
1466s with and yes he's making a lot of Ries
1469s in the uh hallway right
1473s now do a little bit
1476s of side Mountain thing
1479s here put you in
1485s there there we
1493s go so the general notion here
1496s is if you have you know it has practical
1500s uses and it
1502s has um like the field use for it is more
1506s of a if you have a quarry if we do this
1509s and we level this out just to give a
1511s little bit of a feel
1513s for

1517s uh let's do that here as
1524s well so once you have sort of a set quy
1528s um you can determine off say the
1530s distance for these
1533s things we can do that here so if we
1536s start
1537s here might actually cause a blockage
1540s with the placement
1542s there um it creates a sphere and it kind
1545s of shuffles most of the stuff that's in
1548s that block radius and it's a little bit
1551s it'll probably be tinkered down like one
1552s block each side so it's going to be like
1556s a 3X3 plus one explosive
1561s um but down on ground level you can then
1565s use your steam tractor
1567s scoop and then just collect the stuff
1570s that's on the
1573s ground

1576s uh we just not enough inventory
1580s space my character hasn't leveled up
1583s it's not it's not capable enough
1594s we grab this let me do
1596s that drop that in
1604s there so being able to just Shuffle this
1608s up and then suddenly you have all that
1612s material just ready to
1615s go if you don't get stuck like me here

1623s that's why we're kind of scaling the uh
1624s the explosives a little bit
1632s forth um at the moment it's only
1635s deleting blocks that it is actually
1637s transforming so rock
1639s or uh things like that and as an extra
1644s thing let's just do what do we do spawn
1650s uh let's just do
1652s this so as people were saying that hey I
1656s can't I can't demolish my house fast
1659s enough
1661s um we we we did a
1665s thing which I know someone did a video
1667s and posted it on uh you can any
1672s constructed blocks uh can be demolished
1676s and just turned into garbage
1686s if I can light it
1689s up there we
1692s go so you know if you have that that big
1696s ugly uh building from someone that left
1698s the server just turn it into
1701s trash um and once again this is stuff
1706s that's um it it is only available for
1710s you if you have access to the property
1713s as usual it still follows the same law
1716s system as everything
1719s else so instead of you know hammering it
1721s out
1723s just Bop in and uh drop down four four
1726s or five explosives and suddenly the
1728s house is
1729s demolished and then you just scoop up
1731s the
1735s garbage uh what happens if you're in the
1737s blast range um nothing at the
1740s moment um we've
1743s been we've been discussing kind of what
1745s we
1746s want to do with it um because it's hard
1752s to we don't really have a lot of like
1755s you know penalties in the same way as
1757s you would normally have that you can
1758s apply when it comes
1760s to um explosives Etc like normally you
1764s would have you know fall damage or you
1767s take actual Direction
1769s damage to your character but we since we
1771s don't have hit points it's not really
1773s applicable
1781s here um apparently he's been quiet if
1785s he's getting attention so now he's
1786s getting attention um no but it it is it
1791s is something that is kind of under under
1794s revision if you will um
1799s having uh having you lose a bunch of
1803s calories and then maybe faint off um
1807s similar to how the drowning works is
1809s probably the way we might look at
1813s it um apparently he's like oh yeah this
1815s is the best place
1819s ever
1821s hey don't know there
1830s yeah that it's probably where we're
1832s leaning towards
1833s it um but it's it is slightly different
1837s difficult controlling the
1839s stream uh and moving at the same time I
1841s have a
1844s cat bunched up in
1847s me like it's like yes this is the best

1863s uh and then it's just like curling up to
1866s little ball

1887s current iteration is in destructible um
1889s it'll just kind of ignore them but we
1891s are probably going to be adding the same
1893s kind of destru destructiveness
1896s as like the meteor impact for example
1898s they just nuke
1900s stuff um same thing for like if you blow
1902s up a stockpile or if you blow up a chest
1904s worktable Etc the things are going to be
1907s lost
1908s so I'm also presuming that people making
1911s explosives might be a little bit careful
1914s with not you know planting it out and
1917s blowing up their own work shop but who
1919s knows um stuff like that we feel is very
1923s much in the responsibility of the player
1925s to not you
1927s know destroy his own things um and car
1932s should be taken with some of some of the
1933s more powerful
1935s tools um always felt that the lack of
1940s General destructibility surrounding your
1943s own environment has been a little bit
1945s too just safe guarded by your own
1953s interactions okay now he jumped down
1955s let's see how many seconds it takes
1957s until he starts walking out the hallway
1959s and going
1961s wow
1964s um would mines also be prone to filling
1967s up with water needing to be pumped um
1969s that would be related to more water
1971s physic stuff which
1974s is we'd like to but I don't think think
1978s it'll happen prior to
1980s 1.0 um at least the main focus is going
1984s to
1985s be um so 11.1 now and then we are
1989s focusing a lot on towards like pollution
1991s pollution
1992s changes um ecology and animal
1996s behavior
1998s um and a lot of
2000s those items um that's been heavily
2004s requested for a while um and it's it's
2006s also something that we've been wanting
2008s to
2011s do um incinerating garbage is an option
2015s at the moment uh there is there is a
2017s recipe in the blast
2019s furnace um but it's a few things that I
2024s got on my agenda to kind of shift around
2026s for
2027s recycling um to do more of an
2030s expanded um option for so the the core
2033s idea with constructible blocks is that
2036s they'll be blown up into to an
2039s equivalent type of rubble so it's not
2041s just going to be garbage the garbage
2043s only is kind of a placeholder thing but
2046s the idea is that if it's Stone based
2048s it'll turn into it'll turn into
2050s something akin to mixed Rock um if it's
2053s wood it'll turn into like a wood Rubble
2056s pile um etc etc if it's metal same thing
2059s there like scrap metal pile and then
2061s that's going to be revolving the
2062s recycling thing and being able to
2064s salvage some of the material from it
2068s um whereas right now you can of kind of
2071s get a bunch of garbage and then you get
2073s the dispose of them
2076s um but the
2079s um one of the uh future updates we do
2083s have uh kind of recycling systems
2087s and uh revolving functionality kind of
2090s deal with the garbage that comes with
2092s some of the other things um as it's one
2096s of the parts that really feels like it's
2098s lacking in ecoc crafting as
2103s is um it might also be a strong tool for
2106s Griefers yes um and that was it's been a
2111s concern from kind of the start of it
2115s um where how do we deal with for example
2120s explosives as a very very destructible
2123s manner of obtaining
2126s resources without um you know as our
2129s initial kind of drafts of what if we
2131s just you know spawn Rubble as usual and
2133s then you have Rubble all over the place
2134s well with explosives as well as Unity
2137s physics they'd probably be flying around
2141s like
2142s saucers across the world so if you have
2144s like a cliff side you have a nice little
2146s road someone pops a dynamite on the side
2149s suddenly you have Rubble to clean out
2151s for the rest of 3 days in the forest um
2156s versus where you have something more
2157s solid like like crushed
2160s materials um even if you have a physical
2163s deformation um such as uh with it
2168s falling from its General
2170s tops um it's still contained within the
2174s very local
2180s area uh you think we'll get more quality
2182s of life things like the ability to copy
2184s paste shop limits price durability to
2186s other tools to make shops easier to set
2189s up
2191s um it's possible um we'll have to uh
2196s give it a little bit of a swirl but it's
2199s it wouldn't be impossible to get a few
2200s quality life
2202s things like that on on the list if um I
2207s believe someone has some post about some
2210s of the quality but I thinks they have in
2211s mind for the store
2213s interactions uh but if you haven't
2215s checked it out um freaking cat

2266s things we want to do in the
2268s future um so that's a a source of ideas
2272s we pull from um when we're working on
2274s specific subjects and kind of seeing
2275s what we can integrate and what we can do
2277s with it
2279s um so that's a great place to get your
2281s idea heard and also tracked so it
2282s doesn't get kind of disappearing in the
2284s Myriad of Discord chats for
2288s example um but yeah so on on explosives
2292s and kind of interactions and everything
2295s in there it is obviously destroying
2297s plant life and I see the loing distance
2299s is a little bit
2301s off
2303s um and here you can see it kind of
2307s destroys and moves around some of the uh
2309s grounded
2311s terrain
2313s uh it not working
2319s properly do I need client changes for
2323s that could have sworn that was set
2327s up
2329s huh it is supposed to knock around the
2331s trees but I think Mike did something on
2333s the branch in the last bit that doesn't
2336s do it
2339s uh are you guys going to do anything
2340s with PVP PVP combat
2343s no generally not at all

2351s it I I I understand where this is
2356s generally coming from but General PVP
2359s combat doesn't really have a space in
2361s the game as is because it
2364s is it removes the necessary elements for
2368s a lot of the political and
2371s relationship kind of quirks that comes
2374s on a server when you have to talk to
2377s people whereas with
2380s combat um you know you can just go and
2383s shoot your neighbor uh a good example is
2385s yeah rust in a lot of those

2397s quite interesting on them on their
2400s own um as for as for Animals General um
2405s it'll probably kill the animals but

2423s toilet um it's still being kind of
2426s tinkered with and poked out
2428s um but it's been an absolute
2431s freaking blast pun intended um to get

2445s it's I don't know it's been been wanting
2448s to to kind of get around to doing it for
2450s a long time and it's
2451s been fun getting involved in it's been
2454s fun designing surrounding it and
2457s embedding in all the different systems
2460s uh plest is running at the moment on
2463s Coast
2465s Redwood and we'll be shifting around
2468s values and some
2470s balance
2473s um during the course of the play test
2475s we'll obviously continue doing that once
2477s it's actually in production as

2485s Dynamite fishing um uh is it intended to
2489s destroy World objects as well yeah I I
2491s think that'll probably be what end ends

2583s a kind of initial crater that it kind of
2586s shifts stuff out

2594s chance of breaking a
2596s block um when it's being shifted
2600s around so initially it's at the moment
2602s it's
2603s 4%
2605s um but that's something for anyone one
2607s that you know likes to adjust and change
2609s out recipes or just mod some some of the
2612s effects or if you want to go crazy and
2614s have like a Omega nuke and you do like a
2617s 100 explosive radius and it kills half
2619s the server in one big bang
2621s um possible as
2624s well
2627s um so that is some of the uh some of the
2630s config stuff that you can do
2636s forth uh
2638s will they work will it work out for the
2640s uh the early trailers return by one day
2645s um I've talked a little bit with the art
2648s team about it but it's it's probably uh
2652s probably far off in the future if that
2666s happens but yes so hopefully it gives
2669s people a new Dynamic way of doing some
2672s mining
2674s um and it'll probably give a bunch of
2677s feedback to new things that we can do
2681s um and as mentioned you know the these
2683s are things that are work in progress and
2686s they are intended to knock over trees
2688s and and do some some more
2692s direct um effects in the the the Fawn as

2787s mining charges to be um the end all be
2790s all new best tool to harvest everything
2794s um which is always the risk of happening
2796s um when you're doing things like
2798s this uh because we still want it to
2800s affect all the environment around it in
2802s some
2805s capacity uh but that is a that is a good
2808s uh jungle logging got an
2811s upgrade um that's a good question where
2814s will we find sulfur in the world
2818s um there's a few places at the
2821s moment um one of them uh as we saw
2825s in in the beginning if I can find some
2828s grassland grassland got some new
2831s stuff so sulfur comes in two shapes in
2836s Wild you have some crushed sulfur and
2839s you also have solid sulfur which you
2842s require a pickaxe to Chomp and harvest
2845s as any other ore

2853s the
2860s grassland little bit like a a fools gold
2864s kind of
2865s thing you have crushed variants and you
2868s have some solid
2872s variants uh
2879s uh do this and it's and the second place
2884s you can find it in is the warm Forest
2886s but it's a little bit
2889s deeper we grab this we do our layers and
2892s we check out biome and then we have our
2895s warm Forest layer here that is covering
2897s the
2898s wetlands so if we head over here and we
2903s just let's go craz deep just so we can
2906s get on nice little
2911s cup I've started to kind of reshuffle
2913s the biome materials in some of the uh
2917s forests because they they're fairly
2920s boring at the moment with just a whole
2921s bunch of
2924s granite um you now have a pretty sizable
2926s layer of sulfur spotted around in uh in
2930s the warm
2933s Forest not to be mistaken with gold this
2936s is the um
2938s this is the gold for
2942s explosives and the third biome is the
2945s thundra and it is only the thundra so
2948s you have this uh basically the snowy
2950s outer
2951s layer uh in the middle
2955s here so not the general Mountain Side
2959s nor the ice biome uh but kind of
2962s squeezed up in the middle as a
2965s breakage and it is both
2969s on uh higher let's go
2976s north let be flying in the
2979s void there we go and we just let
2982s it catch up a little
2988s bit if it wakes up come on you can do
2995s it well there we go
3004s taada there we go and then we just do
3007s kind of do the same thing here so we
3009s have
3012s um bit of spottin this to it um but it
3016s is quite substantial in terms of the
3019s quantity once you start getting deeper
3022s in so it'll be under the first uh basal

3048s it's not an abundance it's kind
3051s of you know kind of keep get you going

3060s it is going to be either

3065s competing with you know gold copper and
3069s just general spaceage with other
3071s things
3073s um Al it's not competing with Limestone
3076s it is always going to be kind of
3077s embedding under or above it um so the
3081s Limestone quantity isn't reduced
3089s now um something that is fairly new and
3095s it's going to probably cause some
3097s headache for people doing oil
3100s drilling is that with the
3104s sulfur we are introducing a new
3108s byproduct for manufacturing things out
3110s of crude oil and it's it is sort of a
3113s soft introduction to a general over hoil
3117s an overhaul to oil drilling in
3123s general um do you think mortared
3125s versions of the other stones will be in
3127s game
3129s eventually
3130s um we we can actually we can we can
3133s sneak in a
3135s thing so this is um yeah let's let's
3139s let's let's let's just sneaking some

3169s when we're adding a new feature we have
3173s um sort of a comprehensive list of the
3176s general assets that are needed for these
3178s features and kind of fully scoping it of
3184s how much is like how much art assets do
3186s we need what are the art assets objects
3189s terrain uh you know tables crafting
3191s systems and and UI um overlays
3195s Etc so all the explosive assets and
3198s everything surrounding it outside of
3200s just the pure icons in game has been
3203s done for quite a while art team tends to
3207s bee
3208s everything uh which is usually a nice
3211s thing because once you have the thing
3212s you can just shove it in and
3214s immediately um you can test it out and
3216s and see what's going on um and on that I
3220s just got poked by by Toby the other
3223s day uh with something that they're
3226s sneakingly working on for assetwise for
3230s um
3232s 11.2 um and why I bring it up is because
3237s on the subject of mortared
3246s stuff we're looking
3249s at supplementing the Y World objects for
3253s housing furniture and more Decor stuff
3256s with the
3258s other uh type of rock
3263s types so we have them as ashlar we have
3266s them as
3267s some of the other things um we're now
3270s also kind of pushing them down and
3272s having the full variety of things in uh
3277s mortared Stone as
3280s well
3282s so
3285s um 11.2 probably contains a a whole
3289s bunch of new cool decorative
3292s things um so that is also something to
3295s you know we've got more things coming
3298s and it is a lot of lot of fun new uh
3301s additions um as we're going
3303s to goal is to be generally comprehensive
3308s feature complete for 1.0 that is the
3311s Target and it kind of what the next
3314s series of minor updates is going to be
3316s pushing
3317s for um and explosives as a mean to kind
3320s of fill the Gap
3322s in early over to Mid game and then mid
3325s game transition into a more Industrial
3327s Way of
3328s mining um as well as kind of interesting
3332s way to do tunneling and other
3335s interactions
3338s um and as I mentioned from the start I
3343s also wanted to be sort of a different
3345s approach to it you need to think about
3347s the logistics a little bit
3349s differently um but if you get stuff kind
3353s of smoothly going it can be a lot faster
3358s um and a lot more efficient than if you
3361s were mining by hand and just using
3363s pickax until you get the skid steer
3368s Etc um so that's also a key note of the
3372s changes to some of these
3379s systems
3381s um is there any plans to add new block
3384s formats for the tier one to four
3385s construction blocks
3387s um are you talking about General block
3390s forms as just different shapes sport
3396s things um in that case I think it's it's
3400s generally something that
3403s uh art kind of always keeps in the back
3406s of the head but it
3408s is
3413s um yeah so with do want to change out
3419s the block selection UI itself which is a
3422s separate topic um but block forms is
3426s something that kind of we do major
3429s overhauls for in kind of one go for each
3431s block set um as each new block has been
3435s added we've kind of been expanding the
3437s options doing a bit of
3439s polishing which is why some of the older
3441s blocks are not looking as um you know
3444s polished up and as high quality as some
3446s of the newer blocks because they were
3449s made a longer time ago with less tools
3452s available um as were streamlining more
3455s of the process as
3456s well um but if you have specific block
3460s forms that you'd like to see hop in on
3463s the canny and you know list up some of
3467s the forms you would like to see um if
3469s it's stuff that exists in another one
3473s already um and or you feel like there
3476s blocks block forms that are missing same
3479s thing

3487s um talking about Granite is there any
3490s chances that the art department will may
3492s eventually make it as beautiful as it
3494s truly is in real life the gray is
3497s depressing
3500s um I know Toby has been wanting to kind
3503s of look at some of the textures overall
3506s at as theyve been working on improving
3508s the uh quality of some of the other
3511s stuff we've seen this with the massive
3513s overhaul to Wetlands and desert um as
3517s well as the uh the new textures for the
3521s sulfur
3525s uh that have more detailing uh more
3528s Gittin to
3532s them um and it is something that they're
3535s kind of constantly looking at
3540s so right now the um as you can see the
3542s granite is slightly
3544s low uh low resolution compared to some
3547s of the newer textures so things will
3549s overall just be
3552s uh touched up as we
3555s go um are you going to make it so that
3557s the ashor can be turned into aqueducts
3559s yet um that is a good
3562s question uh I might actually
3567s look at that
3570s um because having having ashor aqueducts
3573s would be kind of
3584s nice uh need some ground radar for order
3587s detection Rock drills are so tedious
3590s um yeah
3592s the there are there are some ideas but
3595s I'm I'm not going to
3597s speculate too much of them because
3598s they're not they might not happen at all
3600s and I don't want to raise expectations
3603s in that
3606s regard might make the uh the rock drills
3609s slightly more efficient though tune down
3612s the cost for them a little bit make them
3613s available slightly earlier and then I'm
3616s going to make them
3619s faster probably be
3623s helpful uh will we get a get will we get
3627s a way to get rid of tailings in the
3629s future um together with the recycling
3631s stuff that we have planned you're you're
3633s going to be able to significantly reduce
3636s the
3637s quantity
3640s um you're not going to be able to to
3643s kind of get rid of them
3645s completely
3648s um but things will definitely be shifted
3652s around in that same thing for the
3654s difference between wet tailings and dry
3655s tailings
3657s which you don't really have a lot right
3658s now it's just a matter of one being
3660s slightly more pollutive than the
3665s other uh will normal Lumber also get the
3667s many different block options as the Far
3669s East Lumber
3672s um probably not within the foreseeable
3676s future
3678s um just uh it's I don't think we have
3683s the space to do anything about it until
3686s until we have kind of the animal
3688s husbandry and everything surrounding
3690s that out of the way because there's just
3691s so much work in that space that needs
3695s doing so I can't make any
3703s promises uh making rooms count as rooms
3706s even if not squared rectangular shape
3709s would be nice um yeah the the room
3711s calculator is working on kind of
3713s interconnected blocks
3717s um so it it's more of an
3721s optimization and
3724s um kind of spatial thing that it has an
3728s ease of access of just checking through
3731s the
3731s blocks um like the adjacent blocks that
3734s aren't nons solids versus solids um and
3738s it's kind of making up the room so if
3740s you have a diagonal where you no longer
3742s have a connecting
3743s block um it makes it a little bit
3745s finicky
3748s um you can adjust it to account for it
3752s but it's it's a bit more performance
3755s heavy
3756s um so we'll see if we get another good
3759s pass on performance improvements and the
3762s chunk Builder and surrounding systems we
3765s might be able to do something about it
3766s but it's it's one of those really deep
3769s core technical things that just likes to
3772s eat things in the background
3780s um any plans to make it so windmills and
3782s water wheels do not count as industry um
3785s we talked about it and we're probably
3786s going to change it around so it reduces
3789s the points so it has a penalty rather
3791s than completely removing
3794s it um but it it might be something that
3797s we get to see in 10 point or um
3801s 11.2 um we probably you know bring the
3805s whole
3807s bring that discussion up in regards to
3810s uh some of the things that we're working
3812s on for 11.2 which is um sort of like
3815s coziness um decorative things

3966s uh uh polish them up a little
3971s bit there we

3978s now are you playing nice yeah you're
3980s playing nice like a black
3983s handle and then we do a red flat
3988s bed and then we can do a gray cabin look

3993s beautiful absolutely

4000s um yeah so you can finally have those
4004s vehicles that you all saw being you know
4007s different colors in uh in the uh title
4010s screen in
4013s 9.0 um as all so four
4017s 11.1 uh the ground Vehicles will be
4020s paintable uh the art team is still
4022s working on the maritime
4024s vehicles uh but all the ground vehicles
4026s are going to be
4033s paintable um I think maybe we can talk
4035s about I I do like the steam truck I
4038s really
4039s do
4041s um but uh
4050s we have this bad
4053s boy that had a uh a significant
4062s doover so now it
4066s uh it uh fits much more in the
4070s Aesthetics of
4071s it um as well as the
4074s general a right kind of transitions in
4079s between um but yeah so we
4084s uh uh we we had a little bit of a a a
4087s Polish on
4089s it um it's still having some quirks with
4093s the camera for it um because it's a
4095s little bit wobbly at the um at the
4098s moment but
4102s uh it should be performing a lot better
4104s in terms of
4107s uh turn
4110s capacity and uh playing a little bit
4114s nicer but it it's currently reacting on
4116s input for the camera which it's not
4117s supposed to be um it's supposed to be a
4120s little bit more staticky so you don't
4121s have this had the bobbing thing
4125s so uh some
4127s changes uh but yeah so you know major
4129s overall to the uh the powered
4134s cart uh uh some touchup so
4140s uh yeah um advantage of making a powered
4144s cart as opposed to going through the
4145s straight through the steam truck it
4147s depends a little bit on technology stuff
4149s uh one they're they're a lot cheaper to
4151s make um second they're available before
4154s mechanics you can get it
4158s um you can get it from
4163s um uh pull up uh basic engineering and
4180s smelting uh but yeah I think that that
4184s kind of wraps up what I wanted to go
4185s over with the with the explosive
4188s changes um and yes powered cart changes
4190s is coming in 111 so anything that you
4192s know is on here with the
4197s um work in progress be aware thing uh as
4202s they might change out slightly during
4204s the development of it uh but
4208s overall it's what we target for
4212s 11.1
4214s and hopefully we'll have a release date
4220s soon but
4222s uh that also um
4226s that also kind of boils down to how well
4227s the play test Works um if there's
4230s anything big that we need to adjust
4232s change or fix from feedback
4236s there um but yeah no I think that should
4240s be uh should be all good and
