488s here checking in and uh doing a bit of
491s an update post on the speedrun server

494s running which is referred to as white
497s Shea in the server list if you've seen
499s it and is a bit confused about what's
501s going on um it is a um of a speedrun
505s event that we do every
508s um well every so often I was going to
510s say but it's it's this is the second
512s time we're properly doing it
514s so hopefully we can keep doing it every
516s now and then um it is quite taxing as
520s well as you know with with all the hours
522s people are just pulling into it to get
525s progression crazily
527s quick um so it is
530s far far a bit in between
533s the events but
536s uh maybe we could make it to to like an
539s annual thing uh last one last run was in
542s pre1 0 so that was in 9.6 I think
548s maybe 9.5 maybe um been a while ago so
551s this is the first one that is running
553s with the 10.0 and all the enal balance
556s changes that has happened since as well
558s as the introduction of the new
559s professions and so on um but
563s yeah unfortunately we don't have a guest
566s with us tonight um we had Toby last
569s night so if you missed that stream take

573s the painting stuff in in the midst of

597s speedrun so last last when we left the
599s off we had some technical issues with
601s tech Tre as well so it kind of hard to
604s show off but they burned through they
607s were they were getting cooking baking up

617s coordinator yeah we we might be able to
620s uh to sneak in on Discord here um later

626s perhaps uh but yes they got they got a
629s whole bunch of basic stuff done they
631s moved over to mechanics mechanics was
632s going pretty pretty
635s quickly on board from there they um got
639s oil drilling unlocked now finally and
641s looking into electronics and the
644s advanced series professions they still
646s haven't started industry
649s yet um but we'll take a look a bit on
653s their General resource stock piles the
655s quantity of players involved and uh
659s we did run into some technical issues as
662s well with um the pumps not really
665s playing
667s nicely and not entirely
670s sure what was causing it but we
674s are getting through it
677s somehow
679s um got a bunch of data to analyze after
683s this um event as well with u a lot of
687s profiler data as well for performance
689s check UPS
691s so even though it might just be a fun
694s event for a lot of people we are getting
697s some pretty pretty big valuable data out
699s of it as well to just further improve
705s systematically um so the rainforce that

710s is almost completely devastated at least
713s the large portion of it we got a little
715s bit of a Tre Island here but it
718s is talked to Ed a bit earlier um today
722s and uh they are running into issues
724s where it's just starting to get way too

738s forth um so there's some logistical
740s issues that this scale of tree cutting

748s said uh um they do have quite a lot

757s um related things on uh on store I am
762s surprised to see a what a lumber
770s house it's ambitious I I I was not
773s expecting them to be spending
776s uh uh flax processing on housing
781s so that's an interesting

1911s is kind of the the full scales of

1916s um want to kind of break it down of like
1919s how do we look at data from say a
1921s speedrun compared and translatable into
1924s an actionable regular server that people
1926s just kind of casually stroll around and
1928s and do things
1930s progressively um some of the things that
1933s we do look at is General play time per
1936s se so if we're looking
1939s at um the speedrun that tends to be
1943s super focused super optimized as much as
1946s they can within the constraints
1950s um to uh to see how much actionable time
1954s it takes to go from start to finish and
1958s then spread that out over and looking
1960s over the actual hours spent rather than
1963s just hey it took them 24 hours clearly
1966s something's wrong we need to you know
1968s increase difficulty or add more
1970s complexity or or so you know so on back
1972s and
1973s forth um but more of breaking it up to
1978s how much time is total accounted for on
1982s the entire speedrun so when you're
1984s looking at each individual player and
1987s then how much play time they have on it
1990s um which will also which you can also
1993s see as a user on your own if you're an
1996s administrator on a server you can check
1998s other people's play
2000s times um and it gives you better metrics
2002s to kind of
2004s see
2006s um how things are looking in actuality
2009s so if you have 10 people spending 10
2011s hours each versus one person spending
2014s 100 hours or 100 people spending you
2017s know 10
2019s hours the general progression is the
2022s same but it might be in completely
2024s different focuses or if aimed and
2028s targeted for a single purpose will have
2030s the same result but you he
2038s cat just slammed into the
2046s desk next speedrun is going to be a seed
2049s with mono monob biome Island both
2051s bananza it'd be pretty
2058s interesting um but yeah so it gives us
2061s actionable data on how much people are
2065s required to spend time to get from start
2067s to fin finish and then we can adjust
2070s levels for the base experience to
2074s fit where kind of where those breaks are
2077s happening in
2080s progression kind of
2083s gaps
2085s um and better analyze how long does it
2089s take until they transition into XYZ um
2092s which is obviously really really hard to
2094s compare on something like this because
2097s there's also extreme Focus to just one
2100s cohesive industrial complex per
2104s type um rather than a whole bunch of
2106s small houses or larger houses all over
2109s the place which with a lot a lot more
2112s furniture um infrastructure roads and
2115s and everything else that gets built that
2117s absorbs
2118s resources which then gradually
2121s expands uh the U the general economy
2124s market and productivity of those players
2128s so instead of having you know 100% of
2130s the resources Min going directly to the
2133s end game goal you might be looking at
2136s 25% 30% on an actual regular live
2141s server and the rest of them is going
2143s into utilitarian things like better
2146s tools to more people on the server or uh
2150s more Vehicles so everyone has a truck
2153s versus something like this where you
2155s might only have 10 trucks rather than
2157s 150
2160s uh so there's a lot of nuance
2163s to just looking at the plane
2166s output let see someone is is having a
2169s blast
2171s there even cleaning up the
2178s stumps I think ER is just showing off
2181s right now just he's caring for the
2183s environment while things are being
2184s destroyed

2222s crazy amount of industrial power going
2223s on
2229s here we have six large seven large
2232s Lumber stock Pils that eats materials
2234s and just kind of turns them
2237s around turning H turning the logs
2240s directly into Hune and
2243s turning mincing it into uh to Lumber

2254s tables and then a bunch of resour
2256s research tables I'm guessing for the
2258s basic basic and advanced research papers

2280s we got some Laboratories here going on

2296s well and then we have the electrical
2300s power which we are seeing

2330s prepared once they reach industry to
2332s just burn through a lot of

2351s discovered so they're just missing
2353s electronics and then they'll be able to
2356s start pushing into

2376s are since it is running on the um
2379s expensive recipe

2384s requires the the computer lab for the
2387s laser shoot it down
2390s controls um requires the profession
2395s upgrades from the later professions
2397s which means you are going to have to
2399s have a level seven Advanced masonry
2401s composits electronics
2403s Industry and that is likely to be the
2406s big pain points to get up to that level
2409s seven to be able to make that
2412s upgrade as it's a lot of materials to go
2415s through it and I'm presuming that
2416s they're P really pushing for housing
2418s value uh for those people doing those
2421s professions to quickly get as much
2423s experience as they
2425s can but uh yeah
2429s um 24 hours not a
2436s go the question is how many
2440s hours further is it going to take before
2443s they reach it is it going to
2444s be 4 hours 6 hours 12
2455s hours and how quickly is it going to
2457s scale
2460s up and is the industrial capacity going
2463s to have
2464s enough
2466s production um be able to cater to the
2469s production
2470s volume if they do get like a skid steer
2473s excavator up to really burn through
2478s materials we got some tailoring Corners
2480s down here
2489s then we got some
2498s Sawmills work safety regulations down
2501s here
2517s we're seeing some gold concentrate
2519s coming in as well so you
2521s know they are they are progressing quite
2524s nicely um so question
2526s for anyone on the speedrun in the chat
2529s right now um how much compared
2535s to can't remember when I did the change
2537s was it 101 102
2540s um does it feel like the metal costs and
2543s relations have changed a lot since the
2546s last
2548s speedrun
2552s um partially to the
2556s general um geology
2560s changes um but as um with the blast
2565s furnace change and the bloomeries and
2567s using basic upgrades versus Advanced
2570s upgrades
2576s um just to get kind of that initial step
2593s over but maybe we'll just we want to
2596s ransack a channel just go like
2606s whooo the Kool-Aid water is real yeah

2610s um they they're they're starting to
2612s properly add some flavor to the water
2621s now all they need now is some
2624s uh carbon dioxide or something to just
2627s Fizz it up a bit

2770s mystery there's some targeted excavation

2781s ore but it also makes it slightly
2783s complicated for the logistics of hauling
2786s it out
2788s but when every piece of War counts you
2790s want to get it as much as you can as
2792s quickly as you

2813s have some effects but I don't think that
2817s there's any mining going on up there

2883s kind of hard checked back and forth

2888s client um and there's some weird Redwood

3447s and they got enough with being on the

3451s started poking at each

3464s um they're both from the same
3467s uh same what do you call it

3474s um and they are coming up on
3477s one year now in
3479s uh in two weeks
3483s roughly so there's still counted as
3485s kittens for
3487s now and it it's definitely felt with the
3491s quantity of energy they have um across
3493s the
3495s board so it's you know walking them
3498s outside uh playing around with them
3501s and just helping them get rid of that
3505s excess energy to uh to have a somewhat
3509s same
3512s day but working from home and having
3515s those to those two just rumaging around
3518s you can be quite disruptive
3522s sometimes as you can tell from the
3525s stream speaking of cats there's a feline
3528s on top of the roof
3531s there Jaguar just casually strolling
3534s around not really knowing where it wants
3536s to go
3541s um there
3542s is another thing that's being looked at
3545s in terms of animal behaviors so they
3547s they're intended to be
3551s more um retreating when it comes to
3556s civilization um and there's a lot of
3558s experimentation and investigation into
3560s just general General AI behaviors and
3563s and what we can do
3565s technically um
3567s without causing any general performance
3571s impact um but yeah I've uh we'll go
3576s through that on a separate stream but
3578s there's some there's some pretty cool
3579s stuff coming up with new animations and
3582s general new pathing so the the animals
3584s are
3585s looking
3587s um pretty slick um in terms of getting
3590s up and down Ledges and like jumping down
3593s and all kinds of cool things
3596s um have you considered using the trample
3598s overlay for guiding where the animals

3628s example because they're on the 2D map um
3631s if you have like a longer tunnel or a
3633s highway or something you still want the
3635s animals to be able to cross over back
3636s and forth freely yet they're still
3638s supposed to be avoiding the
3640s area
3643s um so we we don't kind of we don't want
3646s to end up in a situation where you
3648s are
3651s um kind of boxing in animals because you
3654s have a road around the forest you still
3656s want them to somewhat go back and
3659s forth
3661s um but I think it's it's quite doable
3664s with just some fine-tuning of how much
3667s or want you know some some special cases
3670s for when to kind of ignore player
3672s trampled and so on so there's um there's
3675s definitely some investigation
3678s into dealing with it um because it's
3682s something that we
3684s want uh but we'll see see in what shape
3687s it manifests and U how it's going to be
3694s looking but yeah the animal General

3701s high interest

4502s so what's the general opinion of falling

4510s structural Integrity per se but
4512s environmental
4517s Integrity so say you know dirt and sand
4522s would fall down as you dig away the
4524s supporting structure on under
4532s it cuz it it is a bit sad the way it's
4536s looking right
4544s now as you have that environmental
4546s effect when you're dealing with uh
4549s rubble and so on that it it does kind of
4551s transform a bit around you but
4557s I would personally like to see us
4562s introduce uh something similar to
4567s it um as it would mean that you would
4570s need to
4572s build I mean you could probably cheese
4574s it through quite quickly like you when
4576s you're digging something out you'd
4577s replace it with just a layer
4580s of um beams or or you know a a ceiling
4585s coat of mortared stone or something
4588s um but especially for natural terrain is
4591s my
4592s main kind of view on it is when you dig
4595s around and dig away the structural
4598s Integrity of it it would collapse on
4600s itself or fall down which would make
4603s more open pit mining
4607s um the natural goal so as one of the big
4611s I think one of the big irks I have from
4613s a design perspective when it comes to
4616s material acquisition and terraforming
4618s overall is that like we've seen you know
4621s we rag around in the ground
4623s here um as as well now under the clay
4626s here with early pointing out that that
4629s thing was
4630s happening
4632s um looking at the map like you have this
4635s massive quantity of resources B out and
4638s um done absolutely colossal Devastation
4641s to everything however the top like the
4645s General environment looks like it's
4647s completely untouched outside you know
4649s the the devoid life of trees in the
4652s rainforest but all on its on its enal
4656s phase there's not a lot of change in the
4663s environment um which from from a design
4666s perspective on on my end it just feels
4669s wrong when the intention is to have
4672s bigger environmental impact changes not
4674s just
4675s pollution um and garbage and and things
4678s that we have planned focusing
4680s for but also the general the general
4684s natural deformation of
4687s terrain so as you're digging out stuff
4690s you are leaving massive
4692s holes
4695s um or when you're converting stuff and
4698s you're mining out a large quantity of
4700s materials you're turning it into gravel
4703s um most cases people tend to just turn
4706s it into research papers as a way
4709s to sort of destroy material in a
4713s sense uh now some of that is going to
4715s change due to the introduction
4719s of um catalysts and garbage generation
4723s so you might not want to turn all of
4725s that Rubble into research paper because
4728s it's just going
4729s to replace the rubble with something
4733s worse than Rubble so it would be better
4735s to turn the rubble into gravel and then
4737s pouring it back out to get rid of it in
4740s a sense of dumping
4745s it U so there's some food for thought
4748s for
4756s you uh logging having to make support
4759s beams would be interesting yeah there's
4761s there's a few example of games that have
4763s done it uh there a few few mods to other
4766s games that have managed to introduce it
4768s as a separate
4769s thing
4774s um and there there are there are more or
4779s less complicated ways of doing it and
4781s there's more or less ways of doing it
4784s without having a
4786s massive kind of detrimental impact on
4789s the player but at the same time filling
4792s out a very critical
4796s um limitation in certain buildings and
4799s certain
4806s options yes we we're seeing some
4808s separation for the copper and gold now
4811s and um guess the assembly line of rocks
4815s moving forward is a good indication of
4817s things progressing how is the research
4819s looking now
4822s and I managed to break it somehow again
4826s however I still see tier four or most of
4830s tier four at
4832s least missing some other stuff I I
4836s I honestly don't know how I keep
4838s breaking
4839s it which boils into the fun of doing QA
4843s and finding repetitive steps to make it
4846s solvable

5043s adding more depth of fi to the game um
5046s making sure that we get some effects and
5049s some audio and things kind of happening

5055s that kind of we want to avoid having
5058s Dead Silence if you will there there's
5060s there's a few general based rules in
5066s game audio or general like the
5069s experienced audio um in a sense and a
5073s lot of times we just we didn't
5075s necessarily just want to
5077s have just the music filling out in the
5082s background um so some of the things that
5085s we wanted to introduce was you know
5087s weather changes not necessarily directly
5091s having an impact on things although that
5093s is also something that we want to take a
5095s look
5098s at um but just get more of an Ambience
5103s feel um so you have a bit
5106s of shift in the environment around you
5111s visually um and storms weathers and and
5114s kind
5116s of visual elements in that regard was
5118s quite easy to just go like hey this is
5120s something we really want
5125s um and with that we got some sound added
5127s to it uh we tuned the sound levels a lot
5130s on feedback based from the play
5133s test and if you have any general issues
5137s regarding sound uh be it channeling
5140s or pitch pitch or lack of and so on
5146s just hop in on uh on the bug tracker or
5151s pop a message and and point it out in
5153s the bug testing
5159s um and give some feedback on it because
5163s the players are more likely to find
5165s things that we might
5167s be what do you call it like feature
5169s blind to I
5172s guess
5175s um
5177s uh in in in Swedish we usually refer to
5181s it as arbet SC which would be like
5186s when you get when you're working on a
5189s specific
5190s thing uh for a long time and you're kind
5193s of linearly looking at just this thing
5195s and then so you know you kind of you
5197s kind of
5198s get
5201s um you have a hard time seeing the whole
5204s picture or certain things that may be
5206s adjacent to the
5209s Future um when you're just doing the one
5213s thing and getting some external eyes on
5216s it definitely helps giving kind of give
5220s back the perspective for why we're doing
5223s the things we're
5224s doing um which definitely help it's it
5228s definitely helps us make a better
5230s product of Eco but it also helps
5233s us uh kind of grow as developers as well
5238s and
5239s uh be better at you
5242s know seeing the whole thing and and how
5246s everything's interacting with it with
5248s each individual part and it all needs to
5250s kind of synergize and sometimes that
5252s just clashes with what if we're working
5254s on one explicit thing and then suddenly
5256s that breaks another thing and then can
5259s end up in an everlasting Loop
5263s of fixing fixing the wrong things for
5266s the right reasons or fixing the right
5268s things for the wrong
5271s reasons um which is why our Q8 team is
5274s amazing
5275s at going through that first line of
5279s defense um giving us a lot of valuable
5282s feedback in if things are fun or if they
5285s don't make sense
5287s or um if it's way too overboard in
5290s certain areas and then points out the
5293s play test and we have more average
5294s players pop in and give their feel and
5299s especially for an early access title
5300s it's
5303s invaluable cannot thank the players
5305s enough for getting involved in the um in
5309s the whole
5313s process um so it's it's an absolute
5316s privilege and a blast to uh be able to
5319s just sit down in
5321s chat and uh just do these streams and
5325s casually more of a a casual approach to
5328s it instead of just kind of having that
5330s PowerPoint presentation one to 10 dot
5333s these are the subjects we're talking
5334s about these here and now is when we're
5338s discussing
5339s XYZ but just take a more casual tone to

5345s um have a better General open discussion

5444s working on the painting and everything
5447s around it I come into release and I'm
5450s like why haven't anyone painted this
5451s building yet and then it takes me a few
5454s minutes and go like hm wait that's
5456s because we haven't released it
5457s yet um and that's happened more than
5460s once both in terms of like the food
5464s flavor and things that um when I've been
5467s running kind of private play tests um
5471s locally and I just get lost in the
5475s content of the next update as working on
5478s it and sometimes forget that certain
5481s things hasn't been released yet or
5482s certain things aren't publicized yet
5488s um and coming into some of the
5491s discussions that we have back and forth
5493s in regards to design or balance and so
5495s on on the Discord as well um sometimes
5499s I'm
5501s basing uh feedback to questions
5505s or um
5508s suggestions
5511s on something that players wouldn't be
5514s able to
5515s know um which is not by intent it's more
5518s of an
5519s oversight um since I kind of have a
5524s sheath book
5525s of what we're working on and what
5527s priority these are these things are
5530s happening um an example on that would be
5534s the blacksmith for example
5537s um where the blacksmith profession as is
5540s might not make a lot of sense outside of
5544s it cleaned up a lot of the metal working
5546s Pathways and kind of profession
5549s scaling um but it'll make so much more
5552s sense once we get 10.3 out because we
5554s have a lot of things in relation to item
5556s Decay and kind of tool Decay which will
5558s keep the blacksmith super
5561s occupied um whereas right now they might
5564s seem a little bit
5566s Hollow
5570s um and that's definitely areas that that
5575s are it
5577s it I kind of feel bad
5581s for doing it in the way we're doing it
5585s sometimes but it's also very hard to
5588s avoid those
5590s clashes because we have certain Tim taes
5593s internally for release
5595s scheduling um as well as kind of what
5597s feature what features are going into
5599s which update and
5601s then we need like we can work on an
5604s update indefinitely there there is there
5606s is no there's no doubts about that like
5610s we can we can just make an update an
5612s Omega
5614s update um which we saw with 10.0 for
5616s example
5618s where the the the quantity of features
5621s and the quantity of content in that
5624s update was astronomical compared to some
5626s of the minor
5629s ones and you cannot you you cannot risk
5632s running into a slippery slope of Fe
5634s creep uh which is what it's defined
5637s as um in the industry
5640s where you're working on something and
5643s you have a core concept for it and
5646s then you you're just kind of every time
5649s you add something or you polish
5650s something and you go hm you know what if
5652s we just add this little thing it'll be a
5655s lot better and then once you've added
5658s that you go well you know now that we've
5660s added this this doesn't really feel
5662s correctly or it doesn't really feel as
5664s as good as I wanted it to be or uh you
5667s know what let's scrap this thing
5668s completely and do it this way
5671s instead and each of those decisions can
5674s add weeks if not months of time
5676s depending on the scope of that specific
5679s feature um and it is by far I think the
5684s biggest
5685s cause of delays in a lot of
5689s things um either incorrectly estimations
5692s for
5695s um how how long these things can take or
5698s the the the uh the complications that
5701s arise from it like the painting system
5703s um had a lot of technical hurdles that
5707s we had had to pass through both in terms
5709s of um the user ends of things with the
5712s interaction
5714s itself um we
5716s had um so when we add paint buckets for
5720s the full RGB
5722s scale we don't want to have a general
5725s bloat we had to have an icon that's
5727s dynamically changing based on the color
5730s palette that you having for that or the
5733s kind of the color selection for that
5734s paint otherwise you know we we would
5737s need 16 million icons in the project
5740s just to have one for each shade of
5743s color which is obviously not
5746s realistically
5747s possible um because that would make the
5750s game like 45 gigs just in icons um
5755s so we needed to C up cook up a way where
5757s we can have an icon that has two parts
5759s to it with one which is dynamically
5761s changed in
5762s runtime um using the Shader for the
5766s color which was something the the core
5769s system wasn't really capable of
5771s supporting so there was a lot of lot of
5774s investigation and um testing from Mike
5778s to get that sorted and figured
5781s out uh but in the end it works really
5783s nice
5785s um but it things like that can sound so
5789s easy to
5791s do but be really technically complicated
5794s to actually
5796s Implement
5798s um either due to already existing
5801s constraints in World space or just
5804s from the system never had that
5807s functionality in mind from the
5811s start um
5814s but yeah you know it's it's onward
5816s forward and going quite
5819s nicely um hammering away at 10.3 at a
5822s pretty rapid
5824s Pace um we got a lot of new cool things

5988s in in what capacity would we would look

5994s so there's there's nothing really
5995s defined for

6001s food quality Buffs and clothing Etc yeah
6004s it it's it's definitely not a bad

6011s um but it's it's a question kind of
6013s where it fits in to what degree it's it
6015s would have an impact
6018s um so it's not off the table I wouldn't

6044s sense um thirst as a stamina might make
6048s more sense so you have to think about
6050s proximity to water yeah I think think it
6054s it could be an interesting interesting
6056s stage to look into we also have some

6066s um but in terms of having different
6069s types of liquids be actual liquids and
6071s not just an effect in
6074s water um so you would potentially have
6077s things like
6079s oil um and so on be an actual liquid
6081s rather than well it it would also be an
6084s abstract thing but um also be a liquid
6087s and um wet tailings
6090s obviously is also intended to be a
6093s liquid
6096s eventually
6099s um and we're also looking at General
6101s pollution effects with more more General
6104s permanent damage to the world
6106s but part of it also be
6111s recoverable um
6116s for you know chemical spills and cleanup
6118s and and uh oil spills and so on
6123s um accidents and and whatever else weird
6126s crazy things we can cook
6129s up um any plans in regards to reworking
6132s the way skill scrolls are created either
6134s removing the books themselves or
6136s something more akin to the way they're
6137s done on white tiger always struggled
6139s with the infinite Scrolls being turned
6140s out
6146s um sort of but not really there are the
6149s there there are some ideas towards
6152s changing out the general
6155s research
6158s um and how you kind of accumulate
6161s research and get on with tech things but
6166s nothing that is solid enough to present
6174s uh wet tailings being liquid like pour
6176s them out into the ocean
6186s yeah uh what about making Sprint speed
6189s the variables you can adjust SL improve
6191s it Barefoot Sprint is worse than shoe
6193s sprinting
6195s um so at the moment the Sprint speed is
6198s based on your movement speed which is
6201s changed by footware
6205s so if you're running Barefoot versus if
6206s you have shoes on you you will run
6208s faster with shoes on you which by
6210s definition will also make the sprinting

6361s seeing some some trees pop back into

6375s here the food production is slowly
6378s getting taller and taller we've got some
6381s some more cast iron stoves and we also
6383s have the new edition of kitchens here
6415s and the masonry place is a
6419s very it's a very sad sad production line
6422s at the moment we see some reinforced
6424s concrete turned out um the trees ever
6427s die naturally not at the moment
6433s um excessive
6436s pollution
6438s um generally tends to lead to
6440s temperature rise and temperature rise is
6442s what kills the
6446s um but by themselves like of of old age
6450s Etc no
6452s um not at the moment at
6455s least
6457s um we have some ideas
6461s for General like plant wilting
6465s and um having a a a proper life cycle
6468s for the
6470s the um plants and and crops and
6473s everything
6475s um but that would that that is going to
6478s be a kind of a bigger project to tackle
6481s in uh in a later
6485s update uh Seasons Seasons I I started
6489s poking at Seasons out of a you know from
6491s from a
6492s design um side of things like how we
6494s could how Seasons would work if we could
6497s do it um what the general gameplay
6500s effects would be how much how much
6502s General effort it would be for
6505s um adding like seasonal effects on
6510s assets as a blank canvas kind of
6512s replacement thing like changing out the
6515s shades of all the um all the the plant
6517s life basically and um adding effects to
6521s things um up and down and kind of seeing
6524s where the labor scales are for these
6526s things um and Seasons would definitely
6529s be
6531s plausible in certain FES and
6535s Scopes but it would probably more be
6540s more in line
6543s of like summer/ Springs being more
6546s fertile versus autumn and winter that's
6550s reducing growth and and yields and so
6554s on uh but having it outright be
6558s say uh you know winter comes in then
6560s winter just kills everything on the
6562s planet can kind of thing
6566s um then it kind of boils down into how
6568s long are the seasons going to be in that
6571s case so would the seasons be you know 3
6574s days 2 days 5 days if you're looking at
6577s a cycle life a life cycle of four to six
6581s weeks on a
6583s server um would you know a quarter of
6587s the time be spent in winter
6591s season um how would that affect player
6594s acquisition food
6596s storage um and all of the other kind of
6598s nested things surrounding it are The
6601s Gather is just going to be completely
6602s useless not have anything to do the
6604s entire
6607s week um so there's a lot of there's a
6609s lot of
6612s complicated um nested issues in
6614s it um that may be resolved in kind of
6618s gamify gamifying
6621s it uh along
6626s um and just have reductions bonuses
6629s perks depending on the kind of the
6632s temperature range and the um seasonal
6635s choice but it's it's definitely
6637s something that I've been looking at um
6638s from a design
6641s and in done done a bit of Investigation
6644s into how it could be applicable in uh in
6648s Eco but it would be a cool thing to have
6650s definitely
6655s uh winter on on Northern Hemisphere and
6658s Southern and summer on Southern yeah
6660s which is also which is also a way to
6662s kind of get around it where you would
6665s shift um like each region would have a a
6669s summer to Winter cycle and
6672s then it would shift and and change and
6674s you'd always have summer somewhere you'd
6676s always have winter somewhere kind of
6678s thing
6679s um that poses their own kind of problems
6683s in conundrums but
6685s uh uh yeah it's definitely something
6688s that is being looked at in for uh for
6691s future improvements and uh just general
6703s experiences um what about adding shovel
6705s to the Gathering
6708s profession uh not a bad
6711s idea I was contemplating whether or not
6714s we wanted to add it
6716s to
6719s um add it to
6722s self-improvement have it um think it is
6725s under here yeah it is falling under
6727s modern shovel but I was um leaning
6730s towards adding shoveling as a
6733s self-improvement actually gaining
6735s experience in self-improvement by
6737s shoving but it would make sense to have
6740s it on Gathering as well
6747s uh Seasons should be like should be 20
6751s like 20 days but have a server option on
6752s and off and availability to change the
6754s number of days yeah that if if a feature
6757s like that would be um implemented it
6761s would have some customization regarding
6763s the limitation of it similar to how food
6765s variation and and so on are uh
6768s optionable and tweakable
6787s they we're looking like that
6791s where Advanced masonry is coming along
6793s Advanced cooking is coming
6797s along can we see interesting in their
6801s Electronics is still not complet
6802s completely filled
6805s out
6807s so this is also kind of an interesting
6810s way to loop around tool tips and see
6813s what's being made where so if you go in
6816s on the on the specific book um you can
6819s also see you can also check for where
6822s it's been crafted see how many of these
6825s are in the world you can see the name
6826s see where they
6827s belong and then you can also kind of see
6830s what upgrades are in them as well as
6832s what re what recipes are been queued on
6835s them so if we want to see the electronic
6837s skillbook for example we can see that
6840s it's missing the Metallurgy Advanced
6842s papers as well as the Metallurgy modern
6846s papers that would be uh rebarn
6850s steel and then it would be Iron
6854s copper uh yeah iron
6858s copper uh is level seven stay in the cap
6861s or is there plans to go higher uh um at
6863s the moment there isn't any plans to
6865s increase it
6866s further and the reason for that is
6869s mainly related to the quantity of things
6871s that goes into it because people would
6873s need to have General reasons to go
6877s further up uh we have some ideas
6881s on adjusting the experience gain and the
6885s quantity of experience required for the
6886s different professions so they scale more
6888s over time rather than as of right now
6893s you can just kind of burn through the
6894s larger volume of professions in in under
6897s a
6898s day like mining can probably if you if
6901s you build a a sort of a moderate house
6904s early on you can probably do what mining
6907s skill in like four to 6
6910s hours and the same thing in particular
6913s for the Gathering uh
6916s professions
6917s which uh it's generally great for like
6920s seeing super quick progression but it's
6922s also it also leaves zero paths for
6926s improvements in it um outside of what
6929s you get basically the first day you're
6931s playing with that skill so you don't
6934s have kind of something to drive for and
6936s something to look forward
6938s to
6940s um on a longer term thing so say like a
6943s week two
6945s weeks
6947s um and it's it's part of what we want to
6951s adjust and help to have a
6953s kind of a smoother curve for
6963s it um is the idea of stars being used
6966s for progression in skill levels going to
6967s make it as a game mechanic
6969s yeah um in particular for Perks at least
6972s we'll see how far we expand
6975s it uh but but perks are definitely going
6978s to
6978s have um an investment cost in them
6999s Cal a story night
7006s here the industrial puffs of
7010s exasperation
7013s filling the environment with
7025s pollutants so if we take a sneak peek
7027s into the brick house we got some
7030s furniture we got some
7039s uh some general housing things so how's
7042s is also going to be a a big a big topic
7046s for uh 10.3 later on when uh probably do
7050s the outdoor stream next I think um it'll
7054s fit well with the housing
7056s subject so we have some plans to
7059s completely kind of rumage around in uh
7063s housing points housing values and the
7065s dimition costs relations to how much you
7068s stack in a room how much Furniture you
7070s generally need to be able to fill out
7072s out um the points for the equivalent
7082s rooms
7084s um so it'll be it'll it'll be easier to
7087s max out a
7089s room for that specific tier but it'll be
7093s harder to max out the points in a room
7097s scaling up the tier value of the housing
7101s material so
7104s you'll have lower you'll have higher
7106s points per Furniture but you'll have
7108s lower points when you duplicate the
7111s furniture and you're going to need more
7113s modern furniture to kind of get up to
7116s max value as you progress through the
7119s tech threee as
7121s well so when you're looking at like tier
7123s four tier five um
7126s housing you're going to want to have
7128s like
7129s the uh the washing machine and uh like
7133s properly geared out kitchen to be able
7135s to get as much points as you can
7139s um but we'll also be bumping up quite a
7143s lot of the um General values from this
7146s the the supplementary Furniture so
7149s lightning for example is going to get an
7150s absolutely huge
7153s boost and it's going to be well worth
7155s the investment of having that uh fuel
7158s cost early on
7164s that thing is done
7167s um see housing is going to get uh pretty
7172s significant uh facelift in
7176s 10.3 but I'll go in more on detail on
7179s that on
7181s uh when I stream the next
7188s time but it's G to be uh it's going to
7191s be interesting
7194s um it the um that update is going to
7198s introduce a lot of new a lot of new cool
7201s restrictions and Bounds but it's also
7202s going to introduce a few few Nifty
7205s quality of life things and some
7207s significant upgrades to certain
7211s parts uh like a whole new crafting
7214s UI which
7217s is
7219s astronomical it's been in the um it's
7221s been in the works for a while and we
7223s haven't shown off any generals for it
7226s but we'll have
7229s that
7231s uh we'll have that meet the light of day
7235s eventually
7242s um yes new crafting UI is going to make
7244s it it's going to make it a lot easier
7246s there's some some quality of life
7248s features in
7250s it uh the old Hammer button to see
7252s variations is also going to
7255s vanish um so it's it's going to be it's
7259s probably going to feel very alien
7260s initially as with all major UI
7264s reworks
7266s um but it's great it it is it is
7269s absolutely
7270s great um just can't show it off yet
7275s because it's going in on develop branch
7277s and develop Branch isn't entirely stable
7280s enough to do a proper stream on because
7283s uh there's a lot of things that shifting
7285s around with our new auto system and
7288s other
7291s aspects um what are my thoughts on the
7295s current Gathering and building
7297s animations um are we referring to the
7302s general um the general limitation in
7305s speed in in hand Gathering and building
7309s or uh which particular
7313s parts of
7314s them are you wondering
7319s about because generally speaking um I
7322s want animations for everything because
7325s it looks it looks clean it looks
7327s polished it it feels more
7329s interactive
7333s um and not having interactions is it
7338s feels very
7340s static and it just like there's a lack
7344s of player reference to
7348s it
7352s um that said there's also kind of a
7355s border in between what looks really nice
7357s what feels really nice and what actually
7360s works um which is part of why we
7362s temporarily disable the mining the the
7365s mining
7366s interaction uh piece because we weren't
7369s really we we pushed out some of it it to
7372s 10.1 10.2 play
7375s tests and it got a lot of feedback some
7378s positive some negative um but we weren't
7382s really happy with it
7383s ourselves um which is why we disabled it
7387s temporarily so it will make a
7390s reappearance um but it won't do that
7393s until we're really happy with how it
7395s turns out
7403s because the goal isn't necessarily to
7404s limit
7405s players it's to allow a more interactive
7413s experience um and part of that is also
7415s kind of why we have you know 3D
7417s interactions for the food consumption
7420s and things like that as well it's just a
7423s layer of Polish to turn Eco into a more
7425s finished
7430s product um there's also
7433s from a balance perspective in terms of
7435s early on resource acquisition there's
7437s also
7439s a a drive to if uh kind of a drive to
7444s make things
7446s feel like they're improving over the
7448s stages of tech progression so if if
7452s harvesting has zero
7456s interaction um penalties or you know
7458s speed reductions and so on
7462s then it's taking away a lot of the big
7467s points that building the infrastructure
7470s for being able to do like larger scale
7472s farming with u the steam tractor for
7475s example um would give you if you can
7478s just handp pick to in the same speed as
7481s the tractor then why bother with the
7483s tractor the alternative is we'd have to
7485s make the tractor so fast it outpaces the
7488s handpicking that that wouldn't have an
7490s animation in that case
7493s um so there are some concessions that
7495s had to be made in terms of where like
7499s what the intention is with the
7502s thing and how it fits in with the
7506s general progression of the game because
7508s we do want the interaction later on to
7511s be better than the one you start
7513s with
7515s um which is why you have certain tools
7518s that just massively improves it um and I
7522s know logging is is struggling a bit with
7524s that late game for larger
7526s scale uh deforestation and then Forest
7531s reactions um but mining is a good
7533s example
7534s on why we were starting to look into
7539s improving that mid game range with
7541s explosives and attachments for the steam
7544s track to kind of deal with uh earlier
7546s terraforming at a larger scale earlier
7549s on instead of just pickaxe pickaxe
7551s pickaxe pickaxe skid steer
7556s bam so from our perspective we wanted to
7559s really introduce something um in the
7562s middle range that fit with the theme of
7565s getting that
7566s mechanized era going
7570s um and that's why the steam tractor was
7572s introduced as well for the farming part
7574s of it
7577s um we will probably look at something
7580s like modernes
7583s um later
7586s on um to deal with even you know even
7588s bigger
7591s things um just need the skid steer to
7594s take an attachment through logging or
7595s the excavator yeah so we do want to do
7598s something with uh both the excavator and
7601s the skid steer in that regard we want to
7603s kind of transform them into
7605s being
7609s um having the same kind of modularity as
7612s steam tractor
7613s does but it's also a lot of work to
7615s rewrite those and re kind of rejig them
7618s to be working in the same capacity
7620s because it is very old
7622s assets
7624s um and they're kind of set up in a way
7627s that isn't cleanly able to just rip it
7630s out so it's going to take time for
7633s someone to kind of dig into it and and
7635s shop
7636s around but it's definitely something
7638s that we want to do with
7640s it um
7642s but it's it's once again you know it
7644s takes time um certain things gets
7647s prioritized ahead of that
7651s um some things may not make sense to be
7654s prioritizing in some ways but it's also
7658s um that's mainly derived from the PE
7660s from the fact that we have different
7661s people working on front end things
7663s versus backend things um so are people
7667s working on database handling
7669s improvements and and uh General game
7672s optimizations and so on is not the
7675s people that would be working on say
7676s implementing a new
7678s vehicle as it's as it's two very
7681s distinct different skill
7683s sets um even if it's you know this it's
7686s the same code um it's the same project
7689s it's all in C and and you
7691s know um the developers are working in
7694s the same code
7696s structure uh but they are distinct
7698s different pieces of the code
7702s and the same thing with we don't want
7703s our front front end developers to be
7705s working on backend optimizations because
7708s it is a lot more technical it's a lot
7710s more heavy
7711s duty um and a different skill set same
7713s way as ui/ux is its own massive
7719s Beast um and that's why you might see
7722s like hey this feature is being done
7726s um and and go like hey why aren't you
7728s working on fixing optimization why are
7730s you adding this painting
7732s um and that's mainly drived due to the
7735s fact that we still want to keep
7737s improving and fleshing out and and
7740s adding content that makes
7743s sense um especially when it can be
7746s done without impacting or delaying the
7750s work on another
7752s area and it just makes sense to
7756s add
7760s um which is always hard to convey
7766s um
7768s but as with any general profession or
7772s any people in general people are going
7773s to have different skill
7778s set can this camera movement be added as
7781s AFK
7783s screen yeah maybe if it if it was
7785s slightly slightly
7787s smoother um I do get some some some
7790s stuttery things and also getting Dennis
7793s was talking about the the the tree
7795s rockets in the
7796s background um seems to be like a loading
7800s issue when the chunk renders in so
7801s that'll be something I'll have to take a
7803s look

8100s crashes oh just just PL in game time I
8104s think yeah yeah we're about 25 26
8111s hours it speed running in in Eco is an
8115s interesting concept
8117s um love the effort and love the energy
8120s everyone is having um
8122s but it is a A peculiar area of um
8127s investment
8129s yeah yeah the game is definitely not
8131s designed to be speedrun so it's a it's a
8133s unique challenge to uh to try and get
8135s around some of the the game balancing
8138s that's that's gone into
8142s Eco especially with all the the recent
8145s changes since the last time we did it
8148s yeah the 10.0 versus 9 are you feeling
8151s that like it seems like you're running
8153s it faster but is that just because
8157s of um smoother setup or is it just crazy
8162s time investment going on right now um I
8165s mean it's it's just a completely
8168s different pacing um mostly because of
8171s the way the upgrade modules work so I
8174s feel like uh last time we did this it
8177s was a lot of waiting for levels to get
8179s hit um for each of the different upgrade
8182s modules to to go and so I feel like
8185s there was a lot more just kind of
8188s standing around waiting or you know we'd
8189s be preparing for the next skill but it
8191s was a lot of locked
8194s progression right uh this time around it
8196s seems like we're always having multiple
8199s things going on at the same time so it
8201s feels you know more productive that way
8203s but at the same time there's a lot more
8205s that goes into each thing and
8207s so uh you know it's it's taking a little
8211s bit longer even though we're doing more
8216s things oh yeah and yeah don't nor points
8219s out that don't forget the later start
8220s time for the EU uh for for the US yeah
8223s you started at 6:00 p.m. which was a
8226s better better U time we started three
8229s hours later than the last time we did
8232s this and uh sleep schedules has
8235s definitely factored into this this
8237s run uh quite a bit more than than last
8240s time um um we uh the the early game um
8246s takes a little bit more to get
8249s going um because there's a lot more
8252s skills that are needed um last time we
8255s didn't even really touch you know
8257s farming Gathering Milling fertilizers
8260s like those types of things um so having
8264s those going into the early game means
8265s it's a little bit lower paced at the
8268s beginning um and then faster paced kind
8270s of later on I think um but because of
8273s that that shifted a lot of the time
8275s where we needed to actually have a lot
8277s of people online into the the spot where
8279s a lot of people were sleeping I
8281s think
8283s right so all in all a generally more in
8286s skill inclusive speedrun in compared to
8289s previous
8290s ones oh yeah yeah there's been way more
8293s times this time around where we have to
8295s interact with other groups I feel like
8298s last time we kind of had each you know
8300s we have Wood Group rock group food group
8303s um Tech group and kind of each of those
8305s groups kind of did their own thing for
8307s the most part um this time around
8311s there's way more interactions between
8313s the different groups um because of just
8316s the different skills that feed into each
8319s other
8322s um which has definitely added to the the
8328s challenge catfish I have stabbed no one
8331s yet the the
8333s ongoing ongoing gag with with her her
8337s and and white
8339s tiger
8341s yeah uh let see housing housing really
8344s got bumped up here
8347s um the yeah we uh we started off not
8351s really having much housing because uh
8354s you know as we said it was a lot more
8355s level gated the first time yeah uh we
8359s did the Run whereas uh a lot of the
8360s early game skills here don't need levels
8363s to to kind of reach the next progression
8366s level so housing wasn't as mandatory so
8369s we kind of waited to where leveling was
8372s a lot more important um and just made
8375s higher tier housing once we got to that
8377s point yeah I I talked about it a little
8380s bit just prior here
8382s with um kind of experience required for
8385s the early on skills is just
8388s so low compared to the later Tech skills
8394s um and it's probably something that will
8396s change um just to kind of smoothen out
8400s when you unlock things or or the
8402s general you know you lack a thing to
8404s look forward to and kind of a miniature
8408s goal of your profession to kind of reach
8410s the next stage and that it feels like it
8413s takes away a lot of the
8415s um the initiative to keep going and keep
8418s playing in a way
8423s yeah yeah I definitely feel like there's
8426s I've been on some other servers where um
8431s if you have enough stars um to spend
8434s it's really easy to get a couple
8436s different skills at the start and kind
8437s of get ahead of other people um because
8440s it's just so easy to unlock the skills
8443s early on
8445s yeah it's also it that has been a very
8449s very tricky thing for me on balance side
8451s things like some some were pointing out
8453s with hey you know why why is the clay
8455s molds not being made by
8458s Potter um and the issue boils down into
8462s it's very hard it's very easy to
8463s granulate the skills and make them cross
8465s over into different ones but it's harder
8468s to do that when you need like
8472s intermediary ingredients that would make
8474s sense in them is also would also make
8478s sense to be made by a later profession
8481s which yeah which then runs into the
8483s circle of like why is this not doing XYZ
8487s well then that would have to be like a
8489s tier one profession and then suddenly
8491s you have 75% of the professions in tier
8493s one because you need to have access to
8495s all of them immediately because of
8496s intermediary
8498s requirements yeah yeah I actually like
8501s the the Gathering getting that you know
8504s the the craft that you get
8506s that's yeah how how needed term the I
8510s did some some minor mold changes just
8513s prior to it you got the the 10.22 update
8517s just prior to the speedrun start
8522s um I I feel like the molds have actually
8525s felt really good um we've had we had
8530s a we had more gatherers than most other
8534s professions just because it was so
8537s important to us to to have that
8538s Gathering perk on getting as many crops
8541s as we could out of the world so it's
8543s really easy for us to to have a gatherer
8545s go and and cue things up I think um and
8550s and uh you know being in the jungle we
8552s get clay really easily so um I think it
8555s it's been pretty easy for us to stay on
8558s top of the molds um and you know
8562s gives give something
8565s for for the gatherers and and Potters to
8568s do yeah it's keeping them engaged
8570s throughout so they just don't get
8572s neglected halfway through because the
8574s food the the food bins are all filled
8576s and they no longer have have a sensible
8578s place to do things
8583s yeah that Jagger is still still roaming
8586s around there just making sure no no
8589s squaders shows up I
8592s guess yeah we've uh We've definitely had
8594s people poking around that uh aren't in
8597s voice chat that
8599s uh um we I mean we've had a couple
8602s people that have been super helpful
8603s engaged you know helping quite a bit
8606s taking key skills and stuff and then um
8609s we have had some people though that come
8610s in and start poking around for things
8613s that we had planned to be used in other
8616s places and so we've kind of had to adapt
8619s with
8620s that yeah that that that has been a very
8623s interesting approach as well for for the
8625s general speedruns is um anyone anyone
8628s generally uh not aware of it so white
8631s cheetah is um a speedrun event server

8641s very very hard lined in what's been
8644s crafted what times in what quantities
8646s and and so on so forth um as well as the
8649s general people that are involved in it
8652s and every everyone's kind of accounted
8654s for and so on but this server is
8656s completely open to the public so anyone
8659s can join in and help out if they
8661s want
8664s um but do if if if you do hop in be
8668s mindful
8669s of you know nabbing a full stack of
8672s something that you might not be
8675s purposely have access to um and then
8678s absorbed into something completely
8679s different than what it was intended for
8681s specifically like critical research
8683s stuff is just very exposed in that
8685s manner
8688s um but it's it's open for everyone
8692s really which is which is actually really
8695s helpful I mean
8696s having so many people makes a lot of
8699s things really a lot easier that you know
8702s if you only had a dozen of your friends
8704s would take so much longer to try and get
8707s anything done you know even if you had
8708s more control on the situation you just
8710s don't have enough
8712s manpower yeah and that's what I was
8715s talking about in the beginning where
8718s looking at the metrics for the play test
8719s and seeing like hey
8721s you completed it within you know 32
8724s hours um so that's that's definitely Too
8727s Short let's just multiply all the
8728s consumption requirements but like 10
8730s times because it's supposed to take you
8732s know a week um which would be a very
8735s unfair metric to use because you need to
8738s look at the the complete set of hours
8741s spent by individual players to get the
8743s fulltime span for
8745s it yeah and and having I'll be
8747s interested to to see the the final play
8750s time cuz it it almost feels to me like
8753s we've had less people this time than
8755s last time but that might just be because
8757s we're spread more thin between the
8760s different professions and and you feel
8763s that a little bit more
8765s yeah um definitely you know we
8770s all uh we'll post stuff surrounding it
8773s when it gets uh when it's completed and
8777s I might compile a little bit on on date
8781s on my end um for stuff in particular
8784s like housing uh time length and and play
8786s time and so on to
8788s see kind of where where things happen
8790s and in which order um so that'll be fun
8795s and like I said this is this this whole
8797s thing is just super helpful for everyone
8799s involved and you even managed to find
8801s critical breaking bugs in the process as
8803s well that seem to have escaped everyone
8804s else
8805s so uh yeah super good job on that
8812s yeah it's definitely interesting to see
8814s what uh what we didn't think was going
8817s to be challenges that were and uh things
8820s that we thought might be challenges that
8821s weren't
8822s so um hopefully that kind of feedback is
8827s uh is helpful absolutely um and like I
8831s said when when compiling the play time
8833s Etc we can also kind of dive dive into
8837s like how much time it was played by
8839s certain professions as well oh yeah and
8842s and know wit fan points out Huckleberry
8844s extracts being the hard limit um for the
8847s advanced upgrades I guess
8851s yeah yeah that was that that was a
8855s um which part is the the fertilizer
8858s papers yeah the fertilizer papers are
8861s far in away the
8863s most uh involved paper um just they pull
8868s so many things and the 200 crops it used
8872s to be pretty easy to get 200 crops I
8875s think and then just with uh when you're
8878s trying to speedrun something yeah you
8880s don't have the time and luxury to farm
8882s plant yeah you you can't scale up
8886s um crops and so um try yeah trying to
8891s get the the Huckleberry extract for the
8892s fertilizers trying to get um we thought
8895s that maybe the the pelts or the leather
8897s could be an issue if we didn't have
8899s enough people hunting early on but that
8901s didn't that wasn't an issue at all um so
8904s it's mostly just getting the crops and
8907s getting the the Huckleberry
8909s extract um there's still quite a lot of
8912s mushrooms um as well as a lot of
8917s uh Terror
8919s Roots yeah I think I think we uh we got
8924s most of the stuff close by and then it's
8926s just the the logistical issue of getting
8930s a bunch of uh the mushrooms or the the
8934s things that are further
8935s away I wasn't really part of the the
8938s Gathering so I don't know
8940s what exactly went into that but Arc with
8945s after this run I hope to never see a
8947s fish
8950s again uh yeah we were living off charred
8953s fish early on yeah no but it's been it's
8958s been an absolute pressure to Jesus k out
8960s Ro around and and take a peek and see
8963s where things are being done what's being
8965s used um the the window the excessive
8969s window use is
8971s definitely an interesting tactic
8974s um I'm not particularly fond of massive
8979s gapped houses just because just looks
8982s wonky um yeah we uh we definitely save
8987s on a lot of resources that way but then
8988s you also don't get lavish um but most of
8992s us aren't hitting level six anyways so
8995s we're really too concerned with lavish a
8998s Nerf coming um on on that topic the the
9001s general there is a plan and it'll happen
9004s eventually um so for servers that are
9008s interested in
9009s it um uh some people have seen on white
9013s tiger for example we have a hard
9014s requirement of you cannot have any gaps
9016s in your building and that is a a simple
9020s server Boolean so a server true false
9023s statement in one of the configs I think
9025s it's the difficulty config I can't
9026s remember exactly where it is um but you
9030s can switch that around you can also
9031s specify how many blocks of building
9035s material allows you to place or or have
9037s a a gap in it so I think it's 10 blocks
9040s per Gap by default so for every 10
9045s reinforced concrete for example in this
9048s house um allows you one extra window so
9051s if you have a house of 100 blocks You'
9054s have 10 free
9056s spacings um and the main reason we
9060s haven't turned that on by default is
9063s because we want uh it's mainly
9066s surrounding storefronts that's an issue
9068s uh but we may have we may have a
9070s solution coming for that in the future
9071s so that that might be uh might be
9075s something to need to take into
9076s consideration for the next run um
9079s because that might
9081s that might be that might have shifted
9083s until then yeah from a from more casual
9086s player I'm super excited to to see that
9088s type of change but definitely from the
9090s speedrun side of things makes everything
9093s a little bit more you need more
9095s materials for
9098s everything yeah the Decay and a lot of
9100s the other aspects are definitely going
9102s to throw some wrenches in the machinery
9103s for
9105s it oh
9108s yeah um because the the will scale off
9111s of usage I imagine and not just time
9116s yeah you run through stuff a lot quicker
9119s yes Decay have a few variables for it
9122s one being um time in use kind of thing
9126s so as as you're turn as you're turning
9128s away and and the Machinery is being used
9130s it'll constantly kind of eat at that
9132s durability
9134s part um but you also have a a dynamic
9137s component to it where uh we can specify
9141s y um if a recipe has a higher degree of
9147s consumption than just the base value so
9149s you could have certain pieces and
9151s certain parts that are costing more to
9155s kind of eating more of that durability
9157s part um when it's in use oh
9160s cool uh so there are some there are some
9162s scalable values in there that we can use
9165s um we're just trying to kind of look
9167s over how to best present that
9169s information to to the user and through
9171s the recipe list or like in the crafting
9174s order um yeah but that'll that'll
9178s definitely be interesting to see what
9180s what happens
9181s and a large part of that durability
9184s Decay and and everything is going to be
9185s coming in 10.3 as well

81s people are just pulling into it to get

188s whole bunch of basic stuff done they
190s moved over to mechanics mechanics was

198s oil drilling unlocked now finally and
200s looking into electronics and the
203s advanced series professions they still
205s haven't started industry
208s yet um but we'll take a look a bit on
212s their General resource stock piles the
214s quantity of players involved and
218s uh we did run into some technical issues
221s as well with um the pumps not really
224s playing
226s nicely and not entirely
229s sure what was causing it but we
233s are getting through it
236s somehow
238s um got a bunch of data analyze after
242s this um event as well with u a lot of
246s profiler data as well for performance
248s checkups
250s so even though it might just be a fun
253s event for a lot of people we are getting
256s some pretty pretty big valuable data out
258s of it as well to just further improve
264s systematically um so the rainforce that
266s we had is
270s almost completely devastated at least
272s the large portion of it got a little bit
274s of a Tre Island here but it
277s is talked to Ed a bit earlier um today
281s and uh they are running into issues
283s where it's just starting to get way too
285s long of a transportation run from the
288s trees delivered back
291s to um the processing plant for
297s it um so there's some logistical issues
301s that this scale of tree cutting has that
307s said um they do have quite a lot

316s um related things on uh on store I am
321s surprised to see a what a lumber house
330s it's ambitious I I I was not expecting

339s housing so that's an interesting

1467s um few the things that we look at is
1471s kind of the the full scales of
1473s on um want to kind of break it down of
1477s like how do we look at data from say a
1480s speedrun compared and translatable into
1483s an actionable regular server that people
1485s just kind of casually stroll around and
1487s and do things
1489s progressively um some of the things that
1492s we do look at is General play time per
1495s se so if we're looking at
1499s um the speedrun that tends to be super
1503s focused super optimized as much as they
1505s can within the
1507s constraints
1509s um to uh to see how much actionable time
1513s it takes to go from start to finish and
1517s then spread that out over and looking
1519s over the actual hours spent rather than
1522s just hey it took them 24 hours clearly
1525s something's wrong we need to you know
1527s increase difficulty or ADD more
1529s complexity or or so you know so on back
1531s and
1533s forth um but more of breaking it up to
1537s how much time is total accounted for on
1541s the entire speedrun so when you're
1543s looking at each individual player and
1547s then how much play time they have on it
1549s um which will also which you can also
1552s see as a user on your own if you're an
1555s administrator on a server you can check
1557s other people's play times
1560s um and it gives you better metrics to
1562s kind of
1563s see
1565s um how things are looking in actuality
1568s so if you have 10 people spending 10
1571s hours each versus one person spending an
1574s 100 hours or 100 people spending you
1577s know 10
1578s hours the general progression is the
1582s same but it might be in completely
1584s different focuses or if aimed and
1587s targeted for a single purpose we have
1589s the same result but you he the
1596s for cat just slammed into the
1605s desk next speedrun is going to be a seed
1608s with mono monob biome Island both
1611s bananza it'd be pretty
1617s interesting um but yeah so it gives us
1620s actionable data on how much people are
1624s required to spend time to get from start
1627s to finish and then we can adjust levels
1631s for the base experience to
1633s fit where kind of where those breaks are
1637s happening in
1639s progression kind of
1642s gaps
1644s um and better analyze how long does it
1648s take the transition into XYZ U which is
1651s obviously really really hard to compare
1654s on something like this because there's
1656s also extreme Focus to just one cohesive
1660s industrial complex per
1663s type um rather than a whole bunch of
1665s small houses or larger houses all over
1668s the place which with a lot a lot more
1671s furniture um infrastructure roads and
1674s and everything else that gets built that
1676s absorbs
1677s resources which then gradually
1680s expands uh the U the general economy
1684s market and productivity of those players
1687s so instead of having you know 100% of
1689s the resources mined going directly to
1692s the end game goal you might be looking
1694s at 25% 30% on an actual regular live
1700s server and the rest of them is going
1702s into utilitarian things like better
1705s tools to more people on the server or
1709s uh more Vehicles so everyone has a truck
1713s versus something like this where you
1714s might only have 10 trucks rather than
1718s 10050 uh so there's a lot of nuance
1722s to just looking at the plane
1725s output let see someone is is having a
1728s blast
1730s there even cleaning up the stumps
1738s I think eru is just showing off right
1741s now just he's caring for the environment
1743s while things are being destroyed
1781s crazy amount of industrial power going
1783s on
1788s here we have six large seven large
1791s Lumber stock Pils that eats materials
1793s and just kind of turns them
1796s around turning h turning the logs

1960s composits electronics
1962s Industry and that is likely to be the
1965s big pain points to get up to that level
1968s seven to be able to make that
1972s upgrade as it's a lot of materials to go
1974s through it and I'm presuming that
1975s they're P really pushing for housing
1977s value uh for those people doing those
1980s professions to quickly get as much
1982s experience as they
1984s can but uh
1987s yeah um 24 hours not a
1995s go the question is how many
1999s hours further is it going to take before
2002s they reach it is it going to
2004s be 4 hours 6 hours 12 hours
2015s and how quickly is it going to scale
2019s up and is the industrial capacity going
2022s to have
2023s enough
2025s production um be able to cater to the
2028s production
2029s volume if they do get like a skid steer
2032s excavator up to really burn through
2035s materials
2038s we got some tailoring Corners down
2047s here then we got some
2058s Sawmills work safety regulations down
2060s here
2076s we're seeing some gold concentrate
2078s coming in as well so you
2080s know they are they are progressing quite

3110s more um retreating when it comes to

3117s experimentation and investigation into
3119s just general General AI behaviors and

3125s um without causing any general
3128s performance

3141s general new pathing so the the animals

3157s trample overlay for guiding where the
3158s animals wander um it's been a it's been

3163s um but at the moment the trample layer
3166s in itself is
3169s just it's a
3171s bit kind of hard to
3174s discern um and it's the issue kind of
3177s boils into getting them to try to avoid
3181s it but at the same time they need to be
3184s able to kind of casually cross it if you
3186s have for
3187s example because they're on the 2D map um
3190s if you have like a longer tunnel or a
3192s highway or something you still want the
3194s animals to be able to cross over back
3195s and forth freely yet they're still
3197s supposed to be avoiding the
3199s area
3202s um so we we don't kind of we don't want
3205s to end up in a situation where you
3207s are
3210s um kind of boxing in animals because you
3213s have a road around the forest you still
3215s want them to somewhat go back and
3218s forth
3220s um but I think it's it's quite doable
3223s with just some fine-tuning of how much
3226s or it want you know some some special
3229s cases for when to kind of ignore player
3231s trampled and and so on so there's um
3234s there's definitely some investigation
3237s into dealing with it um because it's
3241s something that we
3244s want uh but we'll see in what shape it
3246s manifests and U how it's going to be

4061s so what's the general opinion of falling
4065s blocks or or general not necessarily
4069s structural Integrity per se but
4071s environmental integrity
4077s so say you know dirt and sand would fall
4082s down as you dig away the supporting
4083s structure under
4091s it cuz it it is a bit sad the way it's
4095s looking right
4103s now as you have that environmental
4105s effect effect when you're dealing with
4108s um rubble and so on that it it does kind
4110s of transform a bit around you
4115s but I would personally like to see us
4122s introduce uh something similar to
4126s it um as it would mean that you would
4130s need to
4131s build I mean you could probably cheese
4133s it through quite quickly like you when
4135s you're d digging something out you'd
4136s replace it with just a layer
4139s of um beams or or you know a sealing
4144s coat of mortared stone or something um
4148s but especially for natural terrain is my
4151s main kind of view on it is when you dig
4155s around and dig away the structural
4157s Integrity of it it would collapse on
4159s itself or fall down which would make
4162s more open pit mining um
4167s the natural goal so as one of the big I
4170s think one of the big irks I have from a
4173s design perspective when it comes to
4175s material acquisition and terraforming
4177s overall is that like we've seen you know
4180s we rumag around in the ground
4182s here um as as well now under the clay
4185s here with ear pointing out that that
4188s thing was
4190s happening
4191s um looking at the map like you have this
4194s massive quantity of resources B out and
4197s um done absolutely colossal Devastation
4200s to everything however the top like the
4204s general environment looks like it's
4206s completely untouched outside you know
4209s the the devoid life of trees in the
4211s rainforest but all on its on its General
4215s phase there's not a lot of change in the
4222s environment um which from from a design
4225s perspective perspective on on my end it
4227s just feels wrong when the intention is
4230s to have bigger environmental impact
4233s changes not just pollution um and
4236s garbage and and things that we have
4238s planned focusing
4239s for but also the general the general
4243s natural deformation of
4246s terrain so as you're digging out stuff
4250s you are leaving massive
4252s holes
4254s um or when you're converting stuff and
4257s you're mining out a large quantity of
4259s materials you're turning it into gravel
4262s um most cases people tend to just turn
4265s it into research papers as a way
4268s to sort of destroy material in a
4272s sense uh now some of that is going to
4274s change due to the introduction
4278s of um catalist and garbage generation so
4282s you might not want to turn all of that
4284s Rubble into search paper because it's
4287s just going
4288s to replace the rubble with something
4292s worse than Rubble so it would be better
4294s to turn the rubble into gravel and then
4296s pouring it back out to get rid of it in
4299s a sense of dumping
4304s it um so there's some food for thought
4307s for you
4317s uh logging having to make support beams
4318s would be interesting yeah there's
4320s there's a few example of games that have
4322s done it uh there are a few mods to other
4325s games that have managed to introduce it
4327s as a separate
4329s thing
4333s um and there there are there are more or
4338s less complicated ways of doing it and
4341s there's more or less ways of doing it
4344s without having a massive
4346s kind of detrimental impact on the player
4349s but at the same time filling out a very
4353s critical
4355s um limitation in certain buildings and
4358s certain
4365s options yes we we're seeing some
4367s separation for the copper and gold now
4370s and um gu the assembly line of rocks
4374s moving forward is a good indication of
4376s things progressing how is the research
4378s looking now
4381s and I managed to break it somehow
4384s again however I still see tier four or
4388s most of tier four at
4392s least missing some other stuff I I
4395s I honestly don't know how I keep

4650s having an impact on things although that
4653s is also something that we want to take a

4657s at um but just get more of an Ambience
4662s feel um so you have a bit
4665s of shift in the environment around you
4670s visually um and storms weathers and and
4674s kind of
4676s visual elements in that regard was quite
4678s easy to just go like hey this is
4679s something we really
4683s want um and with that we got some sound
4686s added to it uh we tuned the sound levels
4689s a lot on feedback based from the play
4692s test and if you have any general issues
4696s regarding sound uh be it channeling
4699s or pitch pitch or lack of and so on just
4706s hop in on uh on the bug tracker or pop a
4710s message and and point it out in the bug
4717s testing um and give some feedback on it
4721s because the players are more likely to
4724s find things that we might
4726s be what do you call it like feature
4728s blind too I
4731s guess
4734s um uh
4736s uh in in in Swedish we usually refer to
4740s it as arbet SCA which would be
4744s like when you get when you're working on
4748s a specific
4750s thing uh for a long time and you're kind
4752s of linearly looking at just this thing
4754s and then so you know you kind of you

4760s um you have a hard time seeing the whole
4763s picture or certain things that may be
4765s adjacent to the
4768s Future um when you're just doing the one
4772s thing and getting some external eyes on

4783s doing um which definitely help it's it
4787s definitely helps us make a better
4789s product of Eco but it also helps
4792s us uh kind of grow at developers as well

4799s um be better at you
4802s know seeing the whole thing and and how
4805s everything's interacting with it with
4807s each individual part and it all needs to
4809s kind of synergize and sometimes that
4811s just clashes with what if we're working
4813s on one explicit thing and then suddenly
4816s that breaks another thing and then can
4818s of end up in an everlasting Loop
4822s of fixing fixing the wrong things for
4825s the right reasons or fixing the right
4827s things for the wrong
4830s reasons um which is why our Q8 team is
4833s amazing at going through that first line
4836s of
4838s defense um giving us a lot of valuable
4841s feedback in if things are fun or if they
4844s don't make sense
4846s or um if it's way too overboard in
4850s certain areas and then points out the
4852s play test and we have more average
4854s players pop in and give their feel and
4858s especially for an early access title

4862s invaluable cannot thank the players
4864s enough for getting involved in the um in
4868s the whole
4872s process um so it's it's an absolute
4875s privilege and a blast to uh be able to

5084s of what we're working on and what
5087s priority these are these things are
5089s happening um an example on that would be
5093s the blacksmith for example
5096s um where the blacksmith profession as is
5099s might not make a lot of sense outside of
5103s it cleaned up a lot of the metal working
5105s Pathways and kind of profession
5108s scaling um but it'll make so much more
5111s sense once we get 10.3 out because we
5113s have a lot of things in relation to item
5115s Decay and kind of tool Decay which will
5117s keep the blacksmith super
5121s occupied um whereas right now they might
5123s seem a little bit Hollow
5129s um and that's definitely areas that
5134s are it
5136s it I kind of feel bad
5140s for doing it in the way we're doing it
5144s sometimes but it's also very hard to
5147s avoid those
5149s clashes because we have certain Tim taes
5152s internally for release scheduling
5155s um as well as kind of what featur what
5157s features are going into which update and
5160s then we need like we can work on an
5163s update indefinitely there there is there
5165s is no there's no doubts about that like
5169s we can we can just make an update an
5171s Omega
5173s update um which we saw with 10.0 for
5175s example
5177s where the the the quantity of features
5181s and the quantity of content in that
5183s update was as rical compared to some of
5185s the minor
5188s ones and you canot you you kind of risk
5191s running into a slippery slope of feature
5193s creep uh which is what it's defined
5196s as um in the industry
5200s where you're working on something and
5202s you have a core concept for it and
5205s then you you're just kind of every time
5208s you add something or you polish
5209s something and you go hm you know what if
5211s we just add this little thing it'll be a
5214s a lot better and then once you've added
5217s that you go well you know now that we've
5219s added this this doesn't really feel
5221s correctly or it doesn't really feel as
5223s good as I wanted it to be or uh you know
5226s what let's scrap this thing completely
5228s and do it this way
5230s instead and each of those decisions can
5233s add weeks if not months of time
5235s depending on the scope of that specific
5238s feature um and it is by far I think the
5243s biggest cause
5245s of delays in a lot of
5248s things um either incorrectly estimations
5253s for um how how long these things can
5256s take or the the the uh the complications
5260s that arise from it like the painting
5262s system um had a lot of technical hurdles
5266s that we had had to pass through both in
5268s terms of um the user ends of things with
5271s the interaction itself
5274s um we
5275s had um so when we add paint buckets for
5279s the full RGB
5281s scale we don't want to have a general
5284s bloat we had to have an icon that's
5286s dynamically changing based on the color
5289s palet that you are having for that or
5292s the kind of the color selection for that
5294s paint otherwise you know we we would
5296s need 16 million icons in the project
5299s just to have one for each shade of
5302s color which is obviously not
5305s realistically
5306s possible um because that would make the
5309s game like 45 gigs just in icons
5313s um so we needed to C up cook up a way
5315s where we can have an icon that has two
5318s parts to it with one which is
5319s dynamically changed in
5321s runtime um using the Shader for the
5325s color which was something the the core
5328s system wasn't really capable of
5330s supporting so there was a lot of lot of
5333s Investigation uh and um testing from mic
5337s to get that sorted and figured
5340s out uh but in the end it works really
5343s nice
5345s um but it things like that can sound so
5348s easy to
5350s do but be really technically complicated
5353s to actually
5355s Implement
5357s um either due to already existing
5360s constraints in World space or just from
5365s the system never had that functionality
5367s in mind from the
5370s start
5372s um but yeah you know it's it's onward
5376s forward and going quite
5378s nicely um hammering away at 10.3 at a
5381s pretty rapid
5383s Pace um we got a lot of new cool things
5387s to show off as well in the next Dev
5389s stream
5391s um which will as usual be a bi-weekly
5395s thing on
5398s uh uh actually I shouldn't Pro hang on

5502s swimming restrictions rather than
5504s calories or what what are you
5507s uh what are you thinking in regards to a
5509s stamina usage Pondo
5515s um because yeah in in some of those
5517s cases it has been considered but
5519s it it felt like it really clashes with
5522s the general the the general interactions
5525s of having like a UI element that pops up
5528s and gets
5529s removed when doing things um when it's
5533s innately not doing

5537s um but yeah it's we've talked about it
5541s but it hasn't really been anything more
5543s than just kind of
5544s discussing the possibilities of how it
5546s could work and in in what capacity would
5549s we would look at
5552s it so there's there's nothing really
5554s defined for
5558s it it would give a lot more options for
5561s food quality Buffs and clothing Etc yeah
5563s it it's it's definitely not a bad
5565s idea
5570s um but it's it's a question kind of
5572s where it fits into what the group it's
5574s it would have an impact
5577s um so it's not off the table I wouldn't
5580s say that
5582s but it is currently not on the table if
5586s that makes sense
5605s um thirst as a stamina might make more
5608s sense so you have to think about
5609s proximity to water yeah I think it it
5613s could be an interesting interesting
5616s stage to look into we also have some
5617s ideas on on just generally change
5621s out water speaking of thirst
5625s um but in terms of having different
5628s types of liquids be actual liquids and
5630s not just an effect in water
5634s um so you would potentially have things
5637s like
5638s oil um and so on be an actual liquid
5641s rather than well it it would also be an
5643s abstract thing but um also be a liquid
5646s and um wet tailings
5650s obviously is also intended to be a
5652s liquid
5655s eventually
5658s um and we're also looking at General
5660s pollution effects with more more General
5663s permanent damage to the world
5665s but part of it also be
5670s recoverable
5674s um for you know chemical spills and
5677s clean up and and uh oil spills and so on
5682s um accidents and and whatever else weird
5686s crazy things we can cook
5688s up um any plans in regards to reworking
5692s the way skill scrolls are created either
5693s remove the books themselves or something
5695s more akin to the way they're done on
5696s white tiger always struggled with the
5698s infinite Scrolls being ched

5705s um sort of but not really there are
5708s there there are some ideas towards
5711s changing out the general
5714s research
5717s um and how you kind of accumulate
5720s research and get on with tech things but
5725s nothing that is solid enough to
5732s present uh wet tailings being liquid

5745s yeah uh what about making Sprint speed
5748s the variables you can adjust SL improve
5750s it Barefoot Sprint is worse than shoe
5752s sprinting um
5755s so at the moment the Sprint speed is
5757s based on your movement speed which is
5760s changed by
5763s Footwear so if you're running Barefoot
5765s versus if you have shoes on you you will
5767s run faster with shoes on you which by
5769s definition will also make the sprinting
5771s with shoes faster than sprinting with
5772s bare feet
5795s uh yeah alen that that that's also the
5797s case so you can you have the variable
5800s exposed but you have a max value on the
5802s client
5805s um kind of
5812s thing yeah this the Sprint modifier of
5815s the base value is hard

5827s um yeah and kind of white white tiger is
5830s also it's also you know it it's got its
5833s recipes kind of wrapped up the ceiling

5935s the food production is slowly getting
5938s taller and taller we've got some some
5940s more cast iron stoves and we also have
5943s the new addition of kitchens here
5974s and the masonry place is a
5978s very it's a very sad sad production line
5981s at the moment we see some reinforced
5983s concrete turned out um the trees ever
5986s die naturally not at the moment
5992s um excessive
5995s pollution
5997s um generally tends to lead to
5999s temperature rise and the temperature
6001s rises what kills the
6003s trees
6005s um but by themselves like of of old age
6009s Etc no
6011s um not at the moment at
6014s least
6016s um we have some ideas
6020s for General like plant wilting and and
6025s um having a a proper life cycle for the
6029s the um plants and and crops and
6033s everything um but that would that that
6037s is going to be a kind of a bigger
6039s project to tackle in uh in a later
6044s update uh Seasons Seasons I I started
6048s poking at Seasons out of a you know from
6050s from a
6051s design um side of things like how we
6054s could how Seasons would work if we could
6056s do it um what the general gameplay
6059s effects would be how much how much
6061s General effort it would be for
6064s um adding like seasonal effects on
6069s assets as a blank canvas kind of
6071s replacement thing like changing out the
6074s shades of all the um all the the plant
6076s life basically and um adding effects to
6080s things um up and down and kind of seeing
6083s where the labor scales are for these
6085s things um and Seasons would definitely
6088s be
6090s plausible in certain Styles and
6094s Scopes but it would probably more be
6099s more in line
6102s of like summer/ Springs being more
6106s fertile versus autumn and winter that's
6109s reducing growth and and yields and so on
6114s uh but having it outright be
6117s say uh you know winter comes in then
6120s winter just kills everything on the
6121s planet kind of thing
6125s um then it kind of boils down into how
6127s long are the seasons going to be in that
6130s case so would the seasons be you know 3
6133s days 2 days 5 days if you're looking at
6136s a cycle life a life cycle of four to six
6140s weeks on a
6142s server um um would you know a quarter of
6146s the time be spent in winter
6150s season um how would that affect player
6153s acquisition food
6155s storage um and all of the other kind of
6157s nested things surrounding It or The
6160s Gather is just going to be completely
6161s useless not have anything to do the
6163s entire
6166s week um so there's a lot of there's a
6169s lot of
6171s complicated um nested issues in it
6175s um that may be resolved in kind of
6177s gamify gamifying
6180s it uh a
6183s lot
6185s um and just have reductions bonuses
6188s perks depending on
6190s the kind of the temperature range and
6192s the um seasonal choice but it's it's
6195s definitely something that I've been
6196s looking at um from a design
6200s and in done a done a bit of
6202s Investigation into to how it could be
6204s applicable in uh in Eco but it would be
6208s a cool thing to have
6213s definitely uh winter on on Northern
6216s Hemisphere and Southern and summer on
6218s Southern yeah which is also which is
6221s also a way to kind of get around it
6222s where you would
6224s shift uh like each region would have a a
6228s summer to Winter cycle and
6231s then it would shift and and change and
6234s you'd always have summer somewhere you'd
6235s always have winter somewhere kind of
6237s thing
6238s um that poses their own kind of problems
6242s and in conundrums but
6244s uh uh yeah it's definitely something
6247s that is being looked at in for uh for
6251s future improvements and uh just general
6262s experiences uh what about adding shovel
6264s to the Gathering
6267s profession uh not a bad
6270s idea I was contemplating whether or not
6273s we wanted to add it
6276s to
6278s um add it to
6281s self-improvement have it um think it is
6284s under here yeah it is falling under
6286s modern shovel but I was um leaning
6289s towards adding shoveling ass a
6292s self-improvement actually gaining
6294s experience in self-improvement by
6297s shoveling but it would make sense to
6299s have it on Gathering as
6305s well uh Seasons should be like should be
6309s 20 like 20 days but have a server option
6311s on and off and availability to change
6313s the number of days yeah that if if a
6316s feature like that would
6317s be um implemented it would have some
6321s customization regarding the limitation
6323s of it's similar to how food variation
6325s and and so on are uh optionable and
6345s tweakable they we're looking like that
6350s where the advanced masonry is coming
6352s along Advanced cook is coming
6356s along can we see interesting in there
6360s Electronics is still not completely
6362s filled
6364s out
6366s so this is also kind of an interesting
6369s way to loop around tool tips and see
6373s what's being made where so if you go in
6375s on the on the specific book um you can
6379s also see you can also check for where
6381s it's been crafted see how many of these
6384s are in the world you can see the name
6385s see where they
6386s belong and then you can also kind of see
6389s what upgrades are in them as well as
6391s what re what recipes are been queued on
6394s them so if we want to see the electronic
6396s skillbook for example we can see that
6399s it's missing the Metallurgy Advanced
6401s papers as well as the Metallurgy modern
6405s papers that would be uh rebarn
6409s steel and then it would be Iron copper
6414s uh yeah iron
6417s copper uh is level seven stay in the cap
6420s or is there plans to go higher um at the
6422s moment there isn't any plans to increase
6425s it
6425s further and the reason for that is
6428s mainly related to the quantity of things
6431s that goes into it because people would
6432s need to have General reasons to go
6436s further up um we have some ideas
6440s on adjusting the experience G and the
6444s quantity of experience required for the
6446s different professions so they scale more
6447s over time rather than as of right now
6452s you can just kind of burn through the
6453s larger volume of professions in in under
6456s a
6457s day like mining can probably if you if
6460s you build a a sort of a moderate house
6463s early on you can probably do what mining
6466s skill in like four to six
6469s hours and the same thing in particular
6472s for the Gathering
6474s um
6475s professions
6476s which um it's generally great for like
6479s seeing super quick progression but it's
6481s also it also leaves zero paths for
6485s improvements in it um outside of what
6488s you get basically the first day you're
6490s playing with that skill so you don't
6493s have kind of something to drive for and
6495s something to look forward
6497s to
6499s um on a longer term thing so say like a
6502s week two
6504s weeks
6506s um and it's it's part of what we want to
6510s adjust and help to have a kind of a
6512s smoother curve for
6522s it um is the idea of stars being used
6525s for progression in skill levels going to
6526s make it as a game mechanic
6528s yeah um in particular for Perks at least
6531s we'll see how far we expand it
6535s uh but but perks are definitely going to
6538s have um an investment cost in
6557s them c a story night here
6566s the industrial puffs of
6571s exasperation filling the environment
6573s with
6584s pollutants so if we take a sneak peek
6586s into the brick house we got some
6589s furniture we got some uh
6599s some general housing things so housing
6601s is also going to be a a big a big topic
6605s for uh 10.3 later on when uh probably do
6609s the outdoor stream next I think um it'll
6613s fit well with the housing
6615s subject so we have some plans to
6618s completely kind of rumage around in uh
6622s housing points housing values and the
6624s dimin costs relations to how much you
6627s stack in a room how much Furniture you
6630s generally need to be able to fill out um
6633s the points for the equivalent
6641s rooms
6643s um so it'll be it'll it'll be easier to
6646s max out a
6648s room for that specific tier but it'll be
6652s hard harder to max out the points in a
6655s room scaling up the tier value of the
6658s housing
6660s material
6662s so you'll have lower you'll have higher
6665s points per Furniture but you'll have
6667s lower points when you duplicate the
6670s furniture and you're going to need more
6672s modern furniture to kind of get up to
6675s max value as you progress through the
6678s tech three as
6680s well so when you're looking at like tier
6682s four tier five um
6685s housing you're going to want to have
6687s like
6688s the uh the washing machine and uh like
6692s properly geared out kitchen to be able
6694s to get as much points as you can
6698s um but we'll also be bumping up quite a
6702s lot of the um General values from this
6706s the the supplementary Furniture so
6708s lighting for example is going to get an
6709s absolutely huge boost
6713s and it's going to be well worth the
6714s investment of having that uh fuel cost
6717s early
6722s on that thing is done
6726s um see housing is going to get uh pretty
6731s significant uh facelift in
6735s 10.3 but I'll go in more on detail on
6738s that on
6740s uh when I stream the next time
6748s but it's going to be uh it's going to be
6751s interesting
6753s um it the um that update is going to
6757s introduce a lot of new a lot of new cool
6760s restrictions and Bounds but it's also
6762s going to introduce a few few Nifty
6764s quality of life things and some
6766s significant upgrades to certain
6770s parts uh like a whole new crafting
6773s I which
6776s is
6778s astronomical it's been in the um it's
6780s been in the works for a while and we
6782s haven't shown off any generals for it
6785s but we'll have
6787s that
6790s uh we'll have that meet the light of day
6794s eventually
6801s um yeah new cting UI is going to make it
6804s it's going to make it a lot easier
6805s there's some some quality of life
6807s features in
6809s it uh the old Hammer button to see
6812s variations is also going to
6815s vanish um so it's it's going to be it's
6818s probably going to feel very alien
6819s initially as with all major UI
6823s reworks
6825s um but it's great it it is it is
6828s absolutely
6829s great um just can't show it off yet
6834s because it's going in on develop branch
6836s and develop Branch isn't entirely stable
6839s enough to do a proper stream on
6841s because uh there's a lot of things that
6844s shifting around with our new auto system
6846s and other
6850s aspects um what are my thoughts on the
6854s current Gathering and building
6856s animations um are we referring to the
6860s general
6862s um the general limitation in speed in in
6865s hand Gathering and building
6868s or uh which
6871s particular parts of
6874s them are you wondering
6878s about because generally speaking um I
6881s want animations for everything because
6884s it looks it looks clean it looks
6886s polished it it feels more
6888s interactive um
6893s and not having interactions is it feels
6898s very
6899s static and it just like there's a lack
6903s of player reference to
6907s it
6911s um that said there's also kind of a
6914s border in between what looks really nice
6916s what feels really nice and what actually
6919s works um which is part of why we
6921s temporarily disabled the mining the the
6924s mining
6926s interaction uh piece because we weren't
6928s really we we pushed out some of it to
6931s 10.1 10.2 play
6934s tests and it got a lot of feedback some
6937s positive some negative um but we weren't
6941s really happy with it
6942s ourselves um which is why we disabled it
6946s temporarily so it will make a
6949s reappearance um but it won't do that
6952s until we're really happy with how it
6954s turns
6961s out because the goal isn't necessarily
6963s to limit
6964s players it's to allow a more interactive
6972s experience um and part of that is also
6975s kind of why we have you know 3D
6977s interactions for the food consumption
6979s and things like that as well it's just a
6982s layer of Polish to turn Eco into a more
6984s finished
6989s product um there's
6991s also from a balance perspective in terms
6994s of early on resource acquisition there's
6996s also
6998s a a drive to if uh a kind of a drive to
7003s make things
7005s feel like they're improving over the
7008s stages of tech progression so if if
7011s harvesting has
7013s zero
7015s interaction um penalties or you know
7018s speed reductions and so
7020s on then it's taking away a lot of the
7024s big
7026s points that building the infrastructure
7029s for being able to do like larger scale
7031s farming with um the steam tractor for
7034s example um would give you if you can
7037s just hand pick to in the same speed as
7040s the tractor then why bother with the
7041s tractor
7043s the alternative is we'd have to make the
7044s tractor so fast it outpaces the
7047s handpicking that that wouldn't have an
7049s animation in that
7051s case um so there are some concessions
7054s that had to be made in terms of where
7058s like what the intention is with the
7061s thing and how it fits in with the
7065s general progression of the game because
7067s we do want the interaction later on to
7070s be better than the one you start with
7074s um which is why you have certain tools
7077s that just massively improves it um and I
7081s know logging is is struggling a bit with
7083s that late game for larger
7085s scale uh deforestation and then Forest
7090s reactions um but mining is a good
7092s example
7093s on why we were starting to look into
7098s improving that mid game range with
7100s explosives and attachment for the steam
7103s track to kind of deal with uh earlier
7105s terraforming at a larger scale earlier
7108s on instead of just pickax pickaxe
7111s pickaxe pickaxe skid steer
7115s bam so from our perspective we wanted to
7118s really introduce something um in the
7121s middle range that fit with the theme of
7124s getting that
7125s mechanized era going
7129s um and that's why the steam tractor was
7132s introduced as well for the farming part
7133s of it
7136s um we will probably look at something
7139s like modern
7141s esque um later
7145s on um to deal with even you know even
7148s bigger
7151s things um just need the skid steer to
7153s take an attachment through logging or
7154s the excavator yeah so we do want to do
7157s something with uh both the excavator and
7160s the skid steer in that regard we want to
7162s kind of transform them into
7164s being
7168s um having the same kind of modularity as
7171s the steam tractor
7172s does but it's also a lot of work to
7174s rewrite those and re kind of rejig them
7177s to be working in the same capacity
7179s because it is very old
7181s assets
7183s um and they're kind of set up in a way
7187s that isn't cleanly able to just rip it
7190s out so it's going to take time for
7192s someone to can know dig into it and and
7194s shop
7195s around but it's definitely something
7197s that we want to do with
7199s it um but it's it's once again you know
7203s it takes time um certain things gets
7206s prioritized ahead of
7208s that
7210s um some things may not make sense to be
7214s prioritizing in some ways but it's also
7217s um that's mainly derived from the PE
7219s from the fact that we have different
7220s people working on front end things
7222s versus backend things um so are people
7226s working on database handling
7228s improvements and and uh General game
7231s optimizations and so on is not the
7234s people that would be working on say
7235s implementing a new
7237s vehicle as it's as it's two very
7240s distinct different skill
7242s sets um even if it's you know this it's
7245s the same code um it's the same project
7248s it's all in C and and you
7250s know um the developers are working in
7253s the same code
7255s structure um but they are distinct
7257s different pieces of the
7260s code and the same thing with we don't
7262s want our front front end developers to
7264s be working on backend optimizations
7266s because it is a lot more technical it's
7268s a lot more heavy
7270s duty um and a different skill set same
7273s way as ui/ux is its own massive
7278s Beast um and that's why you might see
7281s like hey this features being done
7285s um and and go like hey why aren't you
7287s working on fixing optimization why are
7290s you adding this painting um and that's
7292s mainly drived due to the fact that we
7295s still want to keep improving and
7297s flushing out and and adding content that
7301s makes
7302s sense um especially when it can be
7305s done without impacting or delaying the
7309s work on another
7311s area and it just makes sense to
7315s add
7320s um which is always hard to convey
7325s um
7328s but as with any general profession or
7331s any people in general people are going
7332s to have different skill
7338s set can this camera movement be added as
7340s AFK screen
7343s yeah maybe if it if it was slightly
7345s slightly
7346s smoother um I do get some some some
7350s stutter things and I'm also getting
7352s Dennis was talking about the the the
7354s tree rockets in the
7355s background um seems to be like a loing
7359s issue when the chunk renders in so
7361s that'll be something I'll have to take a
7362s look
7368s at but yeah we're coming along here um
7372s think taking a little bit longer than
7374s what they anticipated

7603s tree of death thing seems to not be

7608s server yeah no it's uh it's been good
7611s we've been making slower progress than
7613s we'd hoped but uh we've been making
7616s consistent progress I'd say which is the
7619s the
7621s goal yeah it's it's been looking pretty
7624s nice and um anyone on stream if let me
7628s know if the audio levels are wonky up
7630s and down
7633s um give a shout if they're off uh is
7637s white sheah new familiar with white
7639s tiger uh it is a speedrun event server
7642s that is running on during the weekend
7644s here so they had the start meteor is 72
7648s hours and we
7651s are what are we 26 hours in 25 or and a
7655s half something yeah we uh depends how
7658s you count
7660s crashes oh just just PL in game time I
7663s think yeah yeah we're about 25 26
7670s hours it's speedr running in in Eco is
7674s an interesting concept
7676s um love the effort and love the energy
7679s everyone is having um but it is a A
7682s peculiar area of um
7686s investment
7688s yeah yeah the game is definitely not
7690s designed to be speedrun so it's a it's a
7692s unique challenge to uh to try and get
7694s around some of the the game balance
7697s scene that's that's gone into eco
7702s especially with all the the recent
7704s changes since the last time we did it
7707s yeah the 10.0 versus 9 are you feeling
7711s that like it seems like you're running
7712s it faster but is that just because
7716s of um smoother setup or is it just crazy
7721s time investment going on right now um I
7725s mean it's it's just a completely
7727s different pacing um mostly because of
7730s the way the upgrade modules work
7732s so I feel like uh last time we did this
7736s it was a lot of waiting for levels to
7738s get hit um for each of the different
7741s upgrade modules to to go and so I feel
7744s like there was a lot more just kind of
7747s standing around waiting or you know we'd
7749s be preparing for the next skill but it
7750s was a lot of locked
7753s progression right uh this time around it
7755s seems like we're always having multiple
7758s things going on at the same time so it
7760s feels you know more productive that way
7762s but at the same time there's a lot more
7764s that goes into each thing and
7766s so uh you know it's it's taking a little
7770s bit longer even though we're doing more
7775s things oh yeah and and yeah don't n
7778s points out that don't forget the later
7779s start time for the EU uh for for the US
7782s yeah you started at 6:00 p.m. which was
7785s a better better you time we started
7788s three hours later than the last time we
7790s did this and uh sleep schedule has
7794s definitely factored into this this
7796s run uh quite a bit more than than last
7799s time um we uh the the early game um
7805s takes a little bit more to get
7808s going um because there's a lot more
7811s skills that are needed um last time we
7814s didn't even really touch you know
7816s farming Gathering Milling fertilizers
7819s like those types of things um
7822s so having those going into the early
7824s game means it's a little bit lower paced
7826s at the beginning um and then faster
7829s paced kind of later on I think um but
7831s because of that that shifted a lot of
7833s the time where we needed to actually
7835s have a lot of people online into the the
7838s spot where a lot of people were sleeping
7839s I
7840s think
7842s right so all in all a generally more
7845s skill inclusive speedrun in compared to
7848s previous
7849s ones oh yeah yeah there's been way more
7852s times this time around where we have to
7855s interact with other groups I feel like
7857s last time we kind of had each you know
7859s we have Wood Group rock group food group
7862s um Tech group and kind of each of those
7864s groups kind of did their own thing for
7867s the most part um this time around
7870s there's way more interactions between
7872s the different groups um because of just
7875s the different skills that feed into each
7878s other um
7882s which has definitely added to the the
7887s challenge catfish I have stabbed no one
7890s yet the the
7892s ongoing ongoing gag with with her her
7897s and and white
7898s tiger
7900s yeah uh is see housing housing really
7903s got bumped up here
7906s um the yeah we uh we started off not
7910s really having much housing
7912s because uh you know as we said it was a
7914s lot more level gated the first time yeah
7918s uh we did the Run whereas a lot of the
7920s early game skills here don't need levels
7923s to to kind of reach the next progression
7925s level so housing wasn't as mandatory so
7928s we kind of waited to where leveling was
7932s a lot more important um and just made
7934s higher tier housing once we got to that
7936s point yeah I I talked about it a little
7939s bit just prior here with
7942s um kind of experience required for the
7944s early on skills is just
7947s so low compared to the later Tech skills
7953s um and it's probably something that will
7955s change um just to kind of smoothen out
7959s when you unlock things or or the
7961s general know you lack a thing to look
7964s forward to and kind of a miniature goal
7968s of your profession to kind of reach the
7970s next stage and that it feels like it
7972s takes away a lot of the
7975s um the initiative to keep going and keep
7978s playing in a
7979s way
7982s yeah yeah I definitely feel like there's
7985s I've been on some other servers where um
7990s if you have enough stars um to spend
7993s it's really easy to get a couple
7995s different skills at the start and kind
7996s of get ahead of other people um because
7999s it's just so easy to unlock the skills
8002s early on
8004s yeah it's also it that has been a very
8008s very tricky thing for me on balance side
8010s things like some some were pointing out
8013s with hey you know why why is the clay
8014s molds not being made by
8017s Potter um and the issue boils down into
8021s it's very hard it's very easy to
8022s granulate the skills and make them cross
8024s over into different ones but it's harder
8027s to do that when you need like intermed
8032s ingredients that would make sense in
8034s them is also would also make sense to be
8038s made by a later profession which yeah
8042s which then runs into the circle of like
8044s why is this not doing XYZ well then that
8047s would have to be like a tier one
8048s profession and then suddenly you have
8050s 75% of the professions in tier one
8052s because you need to have access to all
8054s of them immediately because of
8056s intermediary
8057s requirements yeah yeah I actually like
8060s the The Gather in getting that you know
8063s the the craft that you get
8065s that's yeah how how needed term the I
8069s did some some minor mold changes just
8072s prior to it you got the the 10.22 update
8076s just prior to the speedrun
8077s start
8081s um I I feel like the molds have actually
8084s felt really good um we've had we had
8089s a we had more gatherers than most other
8093s professions just because it was so
8096s important to us to to have that
8098s Gathering perk on getting as many crops
8100s as we could out of the world so it's
8102s really easy for us to to have a gatherer
8104s go and and cue things up I think um and
8109s and uh you know being in the jungle we
8111s get clay really easily so um I think
8114s it's it's been pretty easy for us to
8117s stay on top of the molds um and you know
8120s gives
8122s is something
8124s for for the gatherers and and Potters to
8127s do yeah it's keeping them engaged
8129s throughout so they just don't get
8131s neglected halfway through because the
8133s food the the food bins are all filled
8135s and they no longer have have a sensible
8137s place to do things
8142s yeah that Jagger is still still roaming
8145s around there just making sure no no
8148s squaders shows up I guess
8152s yeah we've uh We've definitely had
8153s people poking around that uh aren't in
8156s voice chat that
8158s uh um we I mean we've had a couple
8161s people that have been super helpful
8162s engaged you know helping quite a bit
8165s taking key skills and stuff and then um
8168s we have had some people though that come
8169s in and start poking around for things
8172s that we had planned to be used in other
8175s places and so we've kind of had to adapt
8178s with
8179s that yeah that that that has been a very
8182s interesting approach as well for for the
8184s general speedruns is um anyone anyone
8187s generally uh not aware of it so white
8190s cheetah is um a speedrun event server
8194s but in normal cases of you know explicit
8197s speedruns and and so on they tend to be
8200s very very hard lined in what's been
8203s crafted what times in what quantities
8205s and and so on so forth um as well as the
8208s general people that are involved in it
8211s every everyone's kind of accounted for
8213s and so on but this server is completely
8216s open to the public so anyone can join in
8218s and help out if they
8220s want
8223s um but do if if if you do hop in be
8227s mindful
8228s of you know nabbing a full stack of
8231s something that you might not be
8234s purposely have access to um and then
8237s absorbed into something completely
8238s different than what it was intended for
8240s specifically like critical research
8242s stuff is just very exposed in that
8244s manner
8247s um but it's it's open for everyone
8251s really which is which is actually really
8254s helpful I mean having so many people
8257s makes a lot of things really a lot
8260s easier that you know if you only had a
8262s dozen of your friends would take so much
8264s longer to try and get anything done you
8267s know even if you had more control on the
8268s situation you just don't have enough
8270s manpower
8272s yeah and that's what I was talking about
8275s in the beginning where looking at the
8277s metrics for the play test and seeing
8279s like
8280s hey you completed it within you know 32
8283s hours um so that's that's definitely Too
8286s Short let's just multiply all the
8287s consumption requirements but like 10
8289s times because it's supposed to take you
8291s know a week um which would be a very
8295s unfair metric to use because you need to
8297s look at the the complete set of hours
8300s spent by individual players to get a
8302s full time span for
8304s it yeah and and having I'll be
8306s interested to to see the the final Play
8309s Time CU I it it almost feels to me like
8312s we've had less people this time than
8314s last time but that might just be because
8316s we're spread more thin between the
8319s different professions and and you feel
8322s that a little bit more
8325s yeah um definitely you know all
8329s all uh we post stuff surrounding it when
8333s it gets uh when it's completed and I
8336s might compile a little bit on on General
8340s data on my end um for stuff in
8342s particular like housing uh time length
8345s and and play time and so on to
8347s see kind know where where things happen
8349s and in which order um so that'll be fun
8354s and like I said this is this this whole
8356s thing is just super helpful for everyone
8358s involved and you even manag to find
8360s critical break bugs in the process as
8362s well that seem to have escaped everyone
8364s else so uh yeah super good job on
8370s that yeah it's definitely interesting to
8373s see what uh what we didn't think was
8376s going to be challenges that were and uh
8378s things that we thought might be
8379s challenges that weren't
8381s so um hopefully that kind of feedback is
8386s uh is helpful absolutely um and like I
8390s said when compiling the play time Etc we
8392s can also kind of dive dive into like how
8396s much time it was played by certain
8399s professions as well oh yeah and I know
8402s which fan points out Huckleberry
8403s extracts being the hard limit um for the
8406s advanced upgrades I guess
8411s yeah yeah that was that that was a
8415s um which part is the the fertilizer
8417s papers yeah the fertilizer papers are
8420s far in a way the
8422s most uh involved paper um just they pull
8428s so many things and the 200 crops it used
8431s to be pretty easy to get 200 crops I
8434s think and then just with uh when you're
8437s trying to speedrun something yeah you
8439s don't have the time and luxury to farm
8441s plant yeah you you can't scale up
8445s um crops and so um try yeah trying to
8450s get the the huckleberry extract for the
8452s fertilizers trying to get um we thought
8454s that maybe the the pelts or the leather
8457s could be an issue if we didn't have
8458s enough people hunting early on but that
8461s didn't that wasn't an issue at all um so
8463s it's mostly just getting the crops and
8466s getting the the Huckleberry
8468s extract um there's still quite a lot of
8471s mushrooms um as well as a lot of
8476s the terror
8478s Roots yeah I think I think we uh we got
8483s most of the stuff close by and then it's
8486s just the the logistical issue of getting
8489s a bunch of uh the mushrooms or the the
8493s things that are further
8494s away I wasn't really part of the the
8497s Gathering so I don't know
8499s what exactly went into that but Marc
8504s with after this run I hope to never see
8506s a fish
8509s again uh yeah we were living off charred
8513s fish early on yeah no but it's been it's
8517s been an absolute pressure to is kind of
8519s roage around and and take a peek and see
8522s where things are being done what's being
8524s used um the the window the excessive
8528s window use is
8530s definitely an interesting tactic
8533s um I'm not particularly fond of massive
8538s gapped houses just because just looks
8541s wonky um yeah we uh we definitely save
8546s on a lot of resources that way but then
8547s you also don't get lavish um but most of
8551s us aren't hitting level six anyways so
8554s we're really too concerned with lavish
8557s Nerf coming um on on that topic the the
8560s general there is a plan and it'll happen
8563s eventually um so for servers that are
8567s interested in
8568s it um
8571s uh some people have seen on white tiger
8572s for example we have a hard requirement
8574s of you cannot have any gaps in your
8576s building and that is a a simple server
8580s Boolean so a server true false statement
8582s in one of the configs I think it's the
8584s difficulty config I can't remember
8586s exactly where it is um but you can
8589s switch that around you can also specify
8591s how many blocks of building material
8595s allows you to place or or have a gap in
8597s it so I think it's 10 blocks per Gap by
8602s default so for every 10 reinforced
8605s concrete for example in this
8607s house um allows you one extra window so
8611s if you have a house of 100 blocks You'
8614s have 10 free
8615s spacings
8617s um and the main reason we haven't turned
8620s that on by default is because we want uh
8624s it's mainly surrounding storefronts
8626s that's an issue uh but we may have we
8629s may have a solution coming for that in
8630s the future so that that might be uh
8633s might be something to need to take into
8635s consideration for the next run um
8639s because that might that might be that
8641s might have shifted around until then
8644s yeah from a from a more casual player
8646s I'm super excited to to see that type of
8648s change but definitely from the speedrun
8650s side of things makes everything a little
8653s bit more you need more materials for
8657s everything yeah the the k and a lot of
8659s the other aspects are defin going to
8661s throw some wrenches in the machinery for
8664s it oh
8667s yeah um cuz the the Decay will scale off
8670s of usage I imagine and not just time
8675s yeah you run through stuff a lot quicker
8678s yes Decay have a few variables for it
8681s one being um time in use kind of thing
8685s so as as you're turn as you're turning
8687s away and and the Machinery is being used
8689s it'll constantly can of eat at that
8691s durability
8693s part um but you also have a a dynamic
8696s component to it where um we can
8700s specify um if a recipe has a higher
8703s degree of consumption than just the base
8707s value so you could have certain pieces
8710s and certain parts that are costing more
8713s to kind of eating more of that
8715s durability part um when it's in use
8719s cool um so there are some there are some
8721s scalable values in there that we can use
8724s um we're just trying to kind of look
8726s over how to best present that
8728s information to the user and through the
8730s recipe list or like in the crafting
8733s order um yeah but that'll that'll
8737s definitely be interesting to see what
8739s what happens
8740s and a large part of that durability
8743s Decay and and everything is going to
8744s becoming in 10.3 as well
8746s so look forward to that um but
