36s uh but yeah so today's topic as people
40s have seen on the um the titles we're
42s talking about property
44s uh claims ownership uh the new type the
47s new different property types as during
50s the settlement stream that picker was a
52s bit lost
53s um it's back so now I can show that show
55s how you select different property types
57s between cultural and residential
62s um yeah I think we're since I'm here
65s alone
66s um don't really have anyone to to kind
67s of buffer out with so

90s and so when you're starting off and
93s you're joining a new world and you've
95s seen this a little bit before
98s uh yeah the the claim tool is working
101s and and all of that all of that fun
103s stuff

105s it's on my Branch so it'll be deployed

113s yeah when you start off you have all of
115s these nice starting points
117s um there's still a couple of issues
118s remaining where once you click it it
121s doesn't really load that specific chunk
123s quickly enough so you'll you'll do a
125s little bit of a flying um as we'll see

128s these are just quick notifications for
131s what general is available
134s for the immigration thing
137s um these will get replaced with
140s Battlement immigrations
143s so once you have a town it'll pop up and
146s and you can write some text and whatnot
147s but we'll we'll just pick one here
150s and we'll do a bit of a
152s we'll do a bit of flying to avoid that
154s we are going to add some sort of DeLay

158s you click a spawn point and it'll
160s actually load the chunk that you picked
162s before so you don't have that
165s amazing experience

191s generating quickly enough however the
193s terrain does and the loading is looking

201s when you're driving around you won't be
203s running into the same kind of
206s void that you're always seeing

212s but we'll pick we'll pick this nice

217s uh yeah once you come into the game and
221s fair warning here I know some people
223s have had this issue come up with um

234s where you're seeing this camera thing
236s this is a deprecated feature so this was
238s just kind of a mock-up and used for
240s debugging this is not working so if you
243s do try to interact with this on the play
245s test as is right now it'll break the UI
247s and you're gonna have to restart your

250s um so just ignore that this exists until
253s it actually gets removed
257s um but yeah so
259s one of the things I wanted to do with
261s this stream in particular is that when I
263s had John on here doing the settlements
266s the settlements is such a behemoth of a
268s feature across the board it touches so
271s many different areas
272s and it's really kind of all-encompassing
275s and it felt like we'd kind of sped
277s through a lot of the detailing and a lot
279s of the uh the general finer details and
281s then
283s um
285s implementations of it so I just want to
287s kind of break it down into multiple
289s streams where we eat go through kind of
291s each segment more explaining a bit to
294s people and they can also use the
296s reference for when they're starting out
297s and when they kind of either testing it
300s out or just playing in general
302s um just as kind of a reference feedback
305s thing
307s um so yeah starting off on the new world
309s you've got your amazing little
311s amped up
313s um
314s I've already created an avatar which is
317s something that you do when you first
318s start the game in 10 if you don't
320s already have one created
323s um and we've already shown that so we
324s kind of skipped through that process
327s we place down your tent and you are now
330s a resident because if the it's
331s automatically joining any kind of
333s property that you have that is
335s residential
338s you get these claim Stakes that you've
340s seen and these are the determining
343s factors to the property types
346s so we open this up as usual go into our
349s storage and we'll pick up the claim tool
353s uh
355s yeah so the Avatar is persistent and is
358s saved towards your account
361s like locally on your account so if you
363s if you do jump into somewhere else it's
365s not Cloud synced
367s um but yeah that is persistent across
371s um
371s so you can create your avatar and then
373s once it's created you can join multiple
375s servers with it or you don't have to
376s recreate it every time you join a new
378s one it will save it individually for
381s female versus male you could have a
384s character looking one way for female and
386s another one for male
390s um yeah so
392s this plot still generates its usual
395s claims
396s and gone and I've gone ahead and also
399s increased
401s for the new speed for a bit
403s and it doesn't exist
406s um we have a certain amount of plots is
409s tied to the property limit so the stakes
413s are kind of your bread and butter you
415s don't have these claim papers that you
417s spawn in with the beginning as you can
419s see those are gone
421s so the innate property limitation is in
424s your Stakes
425s and this is a single one and then inside
429s the plots tab is where you see these
432s limitations got some descriptions and
434s this is also where you drop in the claim
436s papers when you want to improve and
438s expand on it so
440s 12 for the homestead is the base
442s limitation
444s and it also says how many you claimed
447s but then if you wanted to exceed these
450s 12 you need to add more claim papers
454s and the claim papers will go into as
457s soon as we opt down our first town
460s Foundation
461s is where you acquire new ones
465s so everything up here
467s Works kind of the same but the big
470s limitation is going to be the stakes
471s because you can't create a new property
474s even if you'd have claim papers you
478s still can't
479s claim
480s as you will because one it's not
482s adjacent to it
484s there is a bit of an inconsistent pop-up
488s there but claiming itself works
492s but this will allow you to claim up to
494s 12 odds and then it'll prevent you from
497s claiming more because you're you're at
499s the limit
501s now with the change to this one of the
504s things that we we really kind of looked
506s into and and are still a bit debating
509s about how we want to be doing
512s is previously using the property tool or
515s if you if you were to use your map for
518s instance
521s um and I know some people know of this
523s trick some people don't you could look
525s over
527s um
528s the error should going up there but
530s let's ignore that for a bit
533s um once you moved over your property
535s type or you're mousing over it
538s you could access it
540s through here and that would pop up the
544s property window so you could check the
546s different statistics and everything from
548s the map view without being
551s present locally
554s as well as the the property value and
557s who is on it and the residency and all
559s of that
560s you had this delete button here
563s and the delete button is no longer
566s existing on the claim
568s because the claims are tied to a
571s physical object in World space
573s so in this case this Foundation
576s needs to be removed when you're deleting
578s the claim
580s so if we do this if
582s grab a model hammer
585s and you pick this up it'll uproot and
588s remove all of the plots that are claimed
590s so this is essentially replacing that
592s delete function
594s and
597s uh assets since the claims aren't you
600s know their own unique thing and and a
604s non-world object we kind of had to
610s um do something about that because
611s otherwise you would be able to remove
613s the claim from the map but you would
615s leave the stake
617s which is kind of causing issues or a
621s multitude of reasons
624s yeah and if you only have one property
628s the property tool will automatically
630s change to whatever assigned Deeds that
633s you can claim for
637s and
639s I think I think that's it if
644s yeah so or a couple of questions there
647s will there be different tiers of claim
649s papers the claim papers are tiered but
652s they're linked to specific settlements
656s and for the admin purposes
660s if you're looking at things like
663s specifically for for admin claiming
666s roads Etc
669s um we are adding a command that allows
671s you to
672s own claims and Stakes specifically tied
675s to a settlement of your choice
677s so you would do something like slash
679s spawn settlement stake and then you'd
682s specify the settlement and then the
683s amount
686s and to kind of get around that
688s now
690s how do you recover it so workbench
694s if you'd lose it or say uh
699s you have lost that deals with inactivity
702s and the property that
705s could no longer exist in terms of like
708s unclaiming abandoned people and and so
710s on so forth
713s and this person comes back and want to
716s get back into it previously you you were
718s kind of shanked
719s and couldn't really
722s get back to it without begging someone
724s for claim papers or getting them handed
726s out
727s this is slightly remedied because
730s homesteads are the inherent owning of
733s the property you are limited to
736s homesteads or limited to one Homestead
739s per individual citizen
741s but you can craft them
744s so if you have someone returning
746s they can craft a new Homestead clean
748s state
750s and then that would allow them to create
752s a new property and kind of get rolling
754s again if they do come back and you've
755s reclaimed their stuff
759s uh yeah I think
762s I think that's that's it for General
764s homestead's unique pieces

770s or property things in general

777s monsoon's asking about how renting works
780s with only having one Homestead well

784s there's a difference between owning
785s something and renting it says renting it
788s gives you access to it at the cost and
791s allows you to place residency but it's
793s not something you're actually
795s owning in a sense
799s it'll probably be a bit more
803s Improvement to the renting system itself
807s rather than
809s something else because we do want to
811s expand on the renting a little bit and
813s I'm gonna make it more
815s more fleshed out and kind of working
816s more

818s yeah and also to
820s clarify as to why why the homesteads are
823s unique is that homesteads are placeable
825s anywhere in the world from the start
827s last year we kind of wild
830s wild flaming
833s um and it's something that you can do
834s even if you are
836s even if you're a member of a town you
838s can still place a homestead I believe at
841s the moment I'm not gonna swear on it but
845s we'll we'll give it a whirl here in a
846s bit and see
848s um so I want to pick up my Homestead
850s because I want to show something else
851s that is related to it
854s um so let's do
855s let's do that and just level off this
857s area we have some playing rounds uh
865s now we have some Bean empty space
868s so
869s uh inside to kind of progress through
873s that

875s I did show a little bit earlier but you
877s have The Ballot Box
879s that is a bit sneaky right now it'll
881s probably get a shifted recipe eventually

888s super happy with how it's looking right

892s but The Ballot Box is your entryway into
895s the regular and the expensive civics
898s since every town is gonna need a Ballot
900s Box it felt like it was the
903s the more logical workstation we use even
906s though it's technically not a
908s workstation per se
909s but it just it made sense in terms of
912s where you're coming into Civics because
914s everyone needs a Ballot Box to be able
916s to vote on
917s their or can I run for office and do
921s elective titles and all of that
923s I mean here is where you have the
925s collective Civic crafting items
929s so one of the big things that we are
931s going to
933s or
934s getting kind of further is the town
936s Foundation which is your next kind of
939s stepping stone
943s add one of those
945s and then we do a little bit of more
950s for this uh so we unlock
955s seven
957s here we go
962s ourselves loose so
964s when you're starting off a town and this
967s is regardless if you have
970s if you don't have property at all
972s because you can create a town without
974s owning any property most of the time
977s you're gonna be having at a homestead
979s since that's your kind of
982s then it's yours
984s and if you have a homestead placed
988s it'll act as a limit a range limit piece
993s for towns so when you create a new town
996s and you have a homestead placed you're
999s gonna need to be close enough to that
1001s Homestead in order to actually
1005s create a town so the town will shout at
1007s you for if it's if it's not close enough
1011s and
1013s it does this by
1017s here
1020s might have yeah so towns
1025s this is also where you're renaming it
1027s and as you can see here that we didn't
1030s have last time
1031s requirements are not met
1033s and that is because a town requires at
1037s least two citizens to be created
1041s and then also as a kind of precursor it
1044s requires all the plots in the room to be
1046s claimed on the single tile so this is
1049s falling into the same scenario as the uh
1052s the claim stake or the homestead stake
1055s each of these objects have their own
1058s property Deeds
1060s so when you create and place down this
1063s Foundation the foundation needs to have
1066s its own deed set
1068s and this now shows up as I can select
1071s and interact with both of these Deeds
1077s and if you Mouse over you can see which
1079s speed it's currently claiming for you
1082s right click it with your mouse that's
1083s when you access this feed selection
1090s now I can claim it and
1093s now it's all happy because all the plots
1095s in the room is claimed so this is
1097s something that's also applying to
1098s furniture
1100s as well as crafting stations and
1101s everything as long as you have something
1103s that you want to give value or get a
1105s bonus inside your room
1106s the entire room needs to be cleaned
1110s and this was something fundamentally
1112s changed in 9.6 I believe
1117s in coloring
1120s so now we're here we need another
1123s citizen
1125s and I have a
1129s wait oh I believe
1132s and that gives us a bunch of citizens
1134s that join my town
1136s is obviously a QA command so make sure
1139s that you test the commands out properly
1141s before you use them on a live server
1143s because some of the things that I use
1145s May destroy things
1147s and are not necessarily meant for
1149s long-term use on servers especially
1153s these with kind of that generates fake
1155s users and
1157s extensions of criterias of things

1171s have it here somewhere
1176s probably we can find
1179s um so once you have this criteria set
1181s you have enough players that have been
1183s wanting to join your town you can see
1185s here an example on how it's looking
1188s yeah
1189s it is work in progress
1192s um you can see that these are people
1194s that have applied to the town themselves
1197s so they've gone up to this foundation
1198s and said hey I want to be a part of this
1200s town
1202s um and the immigration laws in this town
1205s is allowing for anyone to actually apply
1207s to it
1209s and then you have these two that have
1211s been invited so these gets this prompt
1215s similar to
1218s um when you invite someone to a
1219s residency it'll pop up saying like hey
1221s this town has invited you you want to
1224s accept and join it and if they click OK
1225s they'll be passed into the actual
1228s citizens
1229s so these two are applied we can improve
1232s we can improve them and they'll be
1234s popped over here
1235s uh since they're fake users they're not
1237s really behaving in the way normal
1239s citizens would be
1241s and this allows us to set the name for
1244s it so if we want to change this out to
1246s Autoville
1248s and here we can also change out the
1250s color that the map overlay has
1254s a secondary color and a primary color
1258s and see how it's still the requirements
1261s are met but the Constitution has yet to
1264s be
1266s sorted out so
1268s similar to how the general government is
1271s created
1272s um
1273s it needs the Constitution to be able to
1275s dictate the terms of the general rules
1277s and legislation that is allowed it to be
1279s happening in that region
1282s as towns are each town is its own
1286s government body
1288s it does make it a little bit more
1290s complicated in terms of how you kind of
1292s set up if you're just playing this as a
1293s group
1294s now it should be mentioned that there is
1298s a way to disable the entire settlements
1302s feature
1303s and that will just hand out claim papers
1306s and claim Stakes similar to how it's
1308s doing
1309s pretend
1312s but if we're happy with this default one
1314s we don't want to change anything or
1317s maybe we want to change out the executor
1319s so I can do magical things and just pass
1321s laws willy-nilly
1323s will ratify it
1326s and then everyone that's inside and are
1330s valid citizens
1332s are gonna get this election pop up and
1335s be able to vote on it
1339s do this
1341s and we finish the election
1344s and you can see some some achievement
1346s stuff that's happening as well
1350s there are notifications and now we have
1353s a past Constitution for this and we go
1356s through the founding process and now we
1358s can actually found it
1361s and this then prompts as we saw before
1363s prompts all the users that were involved
1366s in actually creating this town
1368s and they'll have their nice little name
1371s as well as icon showing up on the plaque
1375s and it also prompts that we are no we're
1377s not a member of any country
1383s um
1385s over the claiming question
1387s um it'll just not allow you to do that
1392s it'll prompt I believe it will prompt
1395s you and say like hey
1398s um
1400s it's not valid and
1403s need to make sure that it's connected
1408s this is out here just
1410s just to make sure I'm not lying to you
1413s we're making this up
1417s um yeah actually here we have we have we
1419s have an interesting effect here now that
1420s we have a town created
1422s you can see this red border that is
1424s showing us the limitations of the town
1428s so now that this Homestead is a member
1430s of a town it can no longer claim any
1432s property and exert its presence outside
1435s of the Town influence
1439s we do this
1442s try to do that it gives you this error
1444s message saying cannot remove this plot
1446s as it would split the homestead
1450s I'm cannot swear if that was actually
1454s fixed or because this view still has
1463s yeah that that that's still that causes
1466s some wonkiness because this is

1472s not really supposed to do that
1476s but there are some innate oh boy
1481s oh boy

1490s it may have not liked that sorry
1494s that is very true
1498s if it wants to let me back in again
1503s a lot of red text I might need to
1505s restart the server because of it but I'm

1527s as you can see some things are not meant
1529s to happen and some things are just not
1531s covered yet but as Dennis said
1535s um it is a work in progress and it is
1538s something that is
1539s still having some some quirks that we
1541s need to fix out and make sure that it's
1543s not a valid action
1544s such as that as you as you saw the
1547s direct action was preventing but it
1549s wasn't preventing me from doing it from
1551s the map view

1557s once it validated on the client side it
1563s it disappeared
1565s where was I yeah so now that the
1568s homestead is inside a town and it's
1570s registered as the owner of the homestead
1572s is registered as a townie
1575s you have this nice little red
1578s can't claim outside of it
1581s um
1582s and that is kind of where culture comes
1585s in and culture is its whole
1589s all other kind of ball game where you
1592s increase the culture value of a town
1595s and that'll increase the influence
1598s radius
1600s you can see here
1604s so here we have our town influence and
1606s anything outside of that is something
1607s that is just not touchable for us
1612s so how do we expand that because a
1616s there we go
1618s um
1619s on a property type and this is kind of
1621s where
1622s we're talking about different types of
1624s properties
1625s so in here we have a new
1628s new kind of drop down that is not
1630s filtering completely
1633s uh
1635s any foundation of a town
1639s or a town Foundation or a country
1642s Foundation or a federation
1644s Foundation
1646s is a cultural property because culture
1648s is what's deciding the influence radius
1651s but this cannot be changed from a
1653s cultural type
1656s um
1660s but this is how you are able to extend
1663s cultural value
1665s so the properties that you can create
1668s here if I go in here and you can see
1671s that you know you can see that it
1673s spawned a bunch of new claims and it
1675s spawned a bunch of papers due to the
1677s amount of citizens that I have in this
1679s town
1682s so we can grab this
1685s and we can grab some paper just for good
1686s measure
1689s and we Mouse over it and you can see
1692s that it starts indeed
1694s or authorville when it's been placed
1698s so this is a claim stake that is only
1700s able to add properties inside of this
1703s influence radius
1706s so to expand the culture for instance
1710s one of the one of the ways of doing it
1713s is if you pop one of these down
1718s place it down here
1721s and then we go in here and
1725s I believe it's that one
1728s General naming is a bit
1731s let's add one paper just to make it even
1734s claiming because
1736s uneven
1737s now it should update there
1740s now I can claim six tiles here

1749s as a rule of thumb
1751s residential housing is what allows you
1753s to get housing bonus
1755s cultural property is what allows you to
1758s add cultural value to the town
1762s up or down
1769s moving on the property and here
1772s you see how it's pre-selecting residency
1776s and here you have a selection down for
1779s cultural and residence so as you can see
1783s unless you have it as residence you
1786s won't get a multiplier for your housing
1788s bonus
1789s and cultural
1792s apparently I'm not owner why am I what

1800s but somehow it's deciding that

1887s the picture and that will provide
1890s the picture itself is worth a certain

1895s and that will be your cultural object
1898s that you can drop out and you can have a
1900s bunch of different things
1903s uh yeah several so the claims are
1908s limited to inside the town radius the
1910s town radius is expensive and the
1912s cultural increases the radius
1915s leave if you
1918s a bit tricky here I wonder if working
1922s properly now
1925s foreign

1946s this might get a little bit messy as
1950s I'm doing this let's grab that and let's

1955s just to show this off so if I grab all
1958s 75 flames in here I drop them in now I
1961s can claim 84 tiles
1964s so you could in theory have like a huge

1967s and they could have you know their their
1969s entire town as
1971s this sort of Community immune
1975s and a sharing property
1978s um with the exception of creating a
1980s separate one for specifically housing
1983s but if they wanted to have like a
1985s production town and they all wanted to
1987s share the the property they could do
1988s that
1994s we do this and then we clean this up
1996s just to make sure that it's in this
1998s property and we
2000s also peace
2003s leave
2010s not really update really
2014s updating
2027s what does it saying
2028s oh okay yeah I see what I did there I
2031s wonder if anyone else noticed it before
2033s I did
2034s I wasn't claiming it for the town I was
2037s claiming it for this other deed I had
2038s set up
2041s I wanted to be that
2047s there we go now you see that this is a
2050s cultural room
2052s it provided value
2057s or if it actually increased the radius a
2061s little bit I'm still kind of working on
2063s the design
2064s and the balance part of it
2066s to make sure that we kind of get the the
2069s range of the values for cultural so you
2073s have different thresholds you reach
2076s um actually it expanded a little bit
2080s um basically getting that math right
2082s where
2084s um
2085s you're kind of your your the culture
2087s kind of balls into the same value as
2089s housing where a certain amount of levels
2091s get you up to thresholds and then
2093s that'll keep bumping your radius
2100s um if you don't cover within the radius
2103s completely you won't be able to join it
2106s because you're too far away
2110s and it'll actually prompt you that that
2112s which is where you would need to kinda
2117s either relocate migrate a little bit or
2120s maybe bribe the mayor into placing down
2123s and building a cultural property
2126s closer to where you're at and I expand
2129s the border into that region
2133s if we continue on this
2140s so once you have
2143s uh yeah no school is
2147s kind of a a slip in there it's not
2150s really supposed to be in that list
2154s um
2155s at least not now
2157s um so that'll it'll it'll be removed but
2161s the the idea is that that will be
2163s working towards the um
2165s education Branch stuff that
2170s not really talking about right now
2172s um
2174s so once you have your your town and you
2178s have that order going out
2181s and you want to include this other town
2184s if I can uninvite myself here now that
2186s we have a bunch of people
2189s um so if you're a member of a town and
2191s you want to leave the town
2194s I can leave it because I transferred
2196s over the property ownership to the mayor
2199s and right now my Homestead isn't really
2201s limiting us
2204s uh
2210s foreign
2214s it's not prohibiting on the homestead
2216s which is
2217s sort of it's supposed to do
2220s um
2221s but
2223s as a reminder it is a work in progress
2225s and all of these kind of small hiccups
2228s and
2229s misses that kind of crop up during the
2231s play test is going to be super helpful
2241s yeah right now it's it's essentially
2244s just like all the properties it's just a
2246s cut out from it but that's not really
2248s intentional
2249s the intended feature is that if you
2251s wanted to leave a town you're gonna have
2254s to kind of pack up your property
2256s um and relocate completely
2260s or you know sell it off to someone in
2262s the town that wants to buy it from you
2264s perhaps maybe some hard-earned altered
2267s coins
2268s but uh yeah so once you have your town
2272s and you want to create
2274s as I'm not a part of that one let's just
2276s pop other town here
2286s oh let's not do that
2289s but badly
2297s like that and
2299s have the foundation
2303s close enough
2305s uh great
2308s I am still a very old author Bill
2311s I pulled
2320s I am so bad at title's commands this is
2323s what we have these amazing GMS that
2326s sorts these out for us when it comes to
2329s the public servers
2331s they should have I think we can we can
2334s give them a virtual medal here
2336s amazing GM staff that kind of handles
2338s all of this
2342s titles

2350s I think that should do

2359s same situation here where this claim
2362s needs to be its own uniform thing
2365s otherwise it'll be bad and not really

2486s terms of how many claims they have

2495s in what do you mean if you have like two
2499s very adjacent towns because they do have
2502s their own unique property so you can't
2504s kinda can't Place One Foundation on top
2507s of the other Foundation because of the
2509s Deeds
2510s but if you have them kind of bubbling up
2512s against each other
2514s at the moment it's gonna be essentially
2516s the first one that gets created
2519s it's gonna cover the big area of
2521s influence and
2525s it should be preventing the other one
2528s but I'm not entirely sure if that
2530s restriction is in place right now
2532s but if you have a town that is created
2537s and you want to create a new town next
2540s to it there is a range limitation in how
2544s much of a proximity you can place a new
2546s town in

2554s so a town Foundation at the moment
2557s as a
2561s and a plot limitation of I mean so each
2566s Foundation kind of comes with nine tiles
2568s that you claim
2571s and moving on to the country because it
2573s is expanded it is expected that a
2576s country is gonna be needing more space
2578s by default because you're probably gonna
2579s want to be placing some chords maybe
2582s some zoning office and maybe some some
2584s other General Civic structures
2587s we kind of wanted to give that leeway
2590s um
2593s you'll be doing that
2600s this off here to make sure
2604s numbered
2607s and
2609s as you can see here the the country also
2611s has a bit of a different type of
2614s requirements so now you need to have at
2616s least two member towns
2619s you need to have at least a certain
2621s amount of citizens across all the member
2622s towns
2625s and you also need to have a total amount
2627s of culture value across those members
2630s and as you can see here apparently
2631s there's zero
2633s because
2635s each in a town joining this Foundation
2638s or this this country
2640s this tube
2643s we haven't we have a name for this
2646s their land
2651s uh
2657s red and green just yes
2660s um so citizens can still join without
2662s being a member of the town you can have
2664s like wild citizens
2667s um
2671s but the
2673s General member citizens is a
2677s it's a Civic action
2679s and
2680s a Civic action is whenever you need to
2684s vote for something to happen
2686s and so inside your actual town
2690s a tab and a component called Civic
2692s actions and this is also where you're
2694s voting to change the name of the
2696s settlement
2697s where you're revoking citizenships from
2699s someone so say you know you want to pick
2702s this guy and is really just polluting
2705s the heck out of the place or he's he's
2707s really just killing authors and you want
2709s to kick him out of the town
2711s you can push for an election to do that
2715s um
2718s yeah so
2720s you join the country
2722s we have this and
2724s you can like to join it and you create
2728s an election for it which works the same
2730s with everything else it first generates
2732s a draft
2735s and then this kind of lumps up any other
2737s Civic actions
2739s uh
2741s and this creates a local election inside
2743s this town for
2745s if this town wants to join it and all
2748s the people in this town gets to vote on
2750s it assuming that it has a general
2752s election
2755s so we complete that through
2758s command
2759s and
2761s it still says not a member of any
2763s country because the country is not yet
2764s existing
2767s on here
2769s we now have this as applied so the
2772s person kind of responsible for accepting
2775s the different towns is the person who is
2777s also placing it and owning it
2779s and this is kind of handled through
2783s Head of State title or there is a whole
2786s bunch of pretty iterative names for it
2788s but essentially
2790s the elected title that owns this country
2794s is automatically set as the person who
2796s approves towns adjoining or sets up the
2800s constitution in the way they want it to
2802s be
2804s and they pop in here as applied
2807s if you approve it they pop in as member
2810s settlements
2814s and we can do
2818s um so one command for admins that was
2822s someone was trying that out on I noticed
2826s on on Discord
2829s oh yeah the texts be a bit wonky not
2833s sure I can probably
2836s let's do this I'm not sure why no one

2839s told me this but I mean we could just
2842s visit the interface scale a little bit

2883s so you have a new one and that's all

3031s uh now that that one is in election I
3035s should go yep
3045s and we do in as that's a slash finish
3049s Quick Command or any Civic uh election
3053s that is happening at the moment and this
3055s is kind of a volatile command because it
3057s will pass the first election it can find
3062s which means if you have a if you have a
3065s live server and you're trying to do this
3067s and suddenly someone pops up say a road
3070s law when you in fact wanted to um
3074s to create a
3078s or pass an election for say a district
3080s and then someone pops up a law for
3082s preventing everyone from placing a a
3084s campsite you do want to specify exactly
3088s which election you want to be targeting
3092s while I just do a blank slash bin
3095s because it just passes the only election
3096s existing in the world
3100s now that that's done we have this here
3102s and we can found the country
3104s and Bam it includes all the citizens
3107s that is a member of the towns that
3110s participated in this
3113s and
3114s they pop in here
3116s yeah historic moment
3119s and as you can see here
3122s all these citizens are spawning claim
3125s papers
3127s as long as they're a member of a town
3128s that is a member of a country
3132s and
3134s this kind of scales up so once you move
3137s into Federation then the Federation is
3139s going to be spawning all papers for all
3141s the citizens that is
3143s sort of it's umbrella covering in the
3146s different towns and in the different
3147s countries
3149s now that we have this here we have this
3152s country and at the moment like I said
3155s I'm experimenting a little bit with the
3157s ranges and radiuses
3159s so one of the things that will be
3160s happening is making sure that
3162s the cultural range of the initial
3164s country is covering
3167s the radius of those two first towns
3170s so there's there's still a little bit of
3172s work to be done there
3175s um
3176s but yeah so once you have this
3179s all of these claims can be used on any
3182s claim stake that is within the influence
3184s sphere of otterland
3187s and the same thing for these claim
3188s Stakes
3190s they can be used anywhere inside this
3192s country
3196s which means the bigger and this is kind
3200s of deriving to the cultural value of a
3203s town it's going to add to the cultural
3206s value of the country so if you have a
3208s really cultural boosted Town it'll make
3212s that country that actually
3214s and that adds to it gonna make that
3217s country radius even bigger
3223s um and yeah so to answer
3226s then he's kind of poked at it but um
3229s what happens to use the claims if a
3231s person goes from active to abandoned
3233s well there is an a higher incentive to
3237s keep people in the game and in your town
3243s um where
3244s as you can see here you've got claim
3246s papers per active slash abandoned
3249s citizens as 20x5 and this is also a
3252s value that's
3254s it's multiple at the moment so it's not
3256s a preset
3258s encoded one so anyone cannot tweak it
3260s and change it for their server
3263s but if you have an active citizen in
3265s your country or like a non-abandoned I
3268s should say
3270s um that citizen is worth 20 claims
3274s and if you claim those 20 tiles and then
3279s that citizen turns into abandoned you'll
3282s run into something called a property
3283s crisis
3286s and
3287s this is kind of the limit
3291s um in a way
3293s um where a town or a country is limited
3298s to the total amount of claims possible
3301s by the active community
3303s so you really want to keep people alive
3306s and and keep people around you
3309s um
3310s to keep kind of a healthy
3313s ongoing town and not having to deal with
3317s properties
3320s um I'm gonna come up with a good way to
3322s describe it essentially you know
3325s um
3326s you can have 20 claims but if that
3328s player goes inactive
3330s that claim count goes down by 15 at the
3333s moment
3334s so you're gonna need to unclaim 15 tiles
3338s to be able to continue claiming
3341s it's kind of an innate
3343s limitation in the towns and in the
3345s settlements
3347s to deal with property shifts where you
3350s might if you have someone that goes
3351s inactive you might want to unclaim a
3354s couple of tiles for him to make sure
3356s that he's still within the valid count
3358s to kind of reclaim that property
3361s but not boot him out completely because
3363s he is still a valued member of that town
3366s for his contribution up to that point
3370s even as an abandoned player
3373s and part of this is to
3376s kind of give a bit of incentive for
3379s people that might not be super active or
3382s they might disappear and come back next
3384s week and I have all their stuff
3385s completely ripped out
3387s um
3389s they're still necessary for the town
3391s so you shouldn't want to be incentivized
3394s to kick them out immediately
3397s now this might be a bit controversial
3401s um
3402s that does that also happen if there's
3405s still claims left or do you will have to
3408s remove the claims
3409s um
3410s in terms of the total count yeah you
3412s would need to
3413s unclaim or or reclaim the property or
3417s the um the country or for the town
3419s and then kind of unclaim because it is a
3423s total count towards the settlement
3425s total of death here
3429s so if you have say you know 400 claims
3432s that you can make with the people that
3433s you have in your town and then suddenly
3435s half of them leave and you're down to
3437s 200 and you're gonna have to unclaim 200
3439s tiles before you're allowed to keep
3441s claiming more for someone else
3445s foreign
3448s falls under the curfew of the government
3450s of that settlement
3452s to make sure that they have a
3453s continuancy plan for when people go
3456s inactive when people join
3458s and that kind of Falls us into
3461s the last bit that we wanted to cover
3463s here
3465s and that was a bit more in depth on the
3468s immigration
3469s because that kind of got browsed over
3471s now that we have the influence radius
3473s properly reacting
3476s so inside the immigration desk
3479s you have a default immigration policy
3482s when you create your town or your
3485s country or Federation can I go just
3487s going with the the settlement
3491s reference here
3493s the ones one of the things that were
3495s fixed here lately was that when you
3499s place down a Civic object you have an
3501s Associated settlement
3504s and if there's multiple influences this
3507s can happen too
3509s they get selectable here so if we do we
3512s add one more of these and we pop it into
3516s into here it should pop up here yeah so
3520s this town is inside the influence radius
3522s of both alter land as well as other town
3525s so I can select
3528s um
3529s where
3531s this is
3535s um in which area this should be enacted
3538s in and this is something that you can't
3540s change the associated settlement if
3542s there is an active policy or an active
3544s law
3548s um and it'll default to whichever is
3552s gonna make sense for it so if it's in
3554s the town it'll be here if it's placed
3556s only in the nation it'll pop down here
3559s but inside this
3562s we're going to revise the immigration
3563s policy
3565s we have a couple of
3571s and a noteworthy and really important
3573s options
3576s um one of the things being around
3577s applicants so if you set this to to not
3580s or no
3583s um
3584s you can you cannot apply freely to it
3588s so this is basically turning it into an
3591s invite only state
3594s you can also set requirements for any
3597s new settlements that that they are
3599s needing to
3600s complete to be able to apply to it so
3603s say
3606s um
3607s you know you they want them to be a
3610s resident of a certain District or
3614s they you don't want admins in your town
3617s and then you can select it's not admin
3619s and yeah just not let admins in here or
3623s you can do the opposite and you can have
3625s an admin town and no one else is allowed
3626s to join except the admins
3628s and then you also have who is approving
3632s these conditions so this is what I was
3634s talking about with the head of state
3635s being the default selected option for
3637s approving New Towns joining the country
3642s so this is something that you can revise
3643s and change out to whatever you want
3647s and then you have requirements for
3649s continued citizenship which is fairly
3651s self-explanatory if they breach this
3654s condition they'll be kicked out of
3656s kicked out of the settlement after a
3658s certain amount of hours and then this is
3661s the set amount to hours that is required
3663s to be
3664s and remedy the situation
3668s and then you have the option to allow
3670s brand new people to instantly join
3672s and then requirements for new child
3675s settlements
3677s um
3679s this will basically prevent
3683s um
3684s you from startings in New Towns inside
3686s this
3687s this is also handled inside the
3689s immigration so if you want to create a
3690s new town in this country
3694s this would need to be set as yes
3698s if this is a no then you can't create
3701s new towns so this is something that is
3703s available for countries that may not
3705s want more towns to be generated under
3707s its umbrella
3711s um
3712s and then you have
3714s the allow brand new people to instantly
3716s join
3717s so this will be it'll allow you to join
3722s this settlement
3724s when they spawn in in that town
3726s and this was what we were talking about
3728s I believe this should probably work
3732s perhaps

3747s is an election and it passes through the
3749s same criterias as everything else if we

3821s you know time zone you're in that is
3823s preferable to be able to play together
3825s or you know any kind of like vtext thing
3833s and you have multiple immigration
3835s policies that you so you can perhaps
3837s have a general one and one for skill
3839s plays I don't think it allows for more
3843s than one active policy
3845s or settlement
3852s that
3855s that I believe
3860s somewhere
3863s um yeah this will be
3866s some of the pieces here will be covered
3868s in the later stream with culture and
3870s annexation and kind of hostile takeovers

3875s a bit more into that but I believe at
3877s the moment immigration policies is just
3879s one per country but it is it is an
3882s interesting Prospect and I think it's
3883s something that we

3988s that could be tricky you do have like a
3991s generic if I do slash give claim papers
3997s and paper I can't remember what they're
3999s called they might even be
4001s it might actually be
4008s property claims
4016s if I spawn them in
4019s they don't have a link to anything
4021s and I believe they shouldn't be usable
4023s either they might be at the moment
4027s yeah at the moment they're they're still
4029s usable and they're Universal which means
4031s you could shove them in to do anywhere

4036s but we are also adding a command for
4039s admins that allows you to spawn in

4054s settlement feature enabled at all
4056s you are still limited to the claim

846s a lot of the detailing and a lot of the
848s the general finer details and then

853s implementations of it so I just want to
856s kind of break it down into multiple
858s streams where we each go through kind of
860s each segment more
862s um explaining a bit to people and they
864s can also use the reference for when
865s they're starting out and when they kind
868s of either testing it out or just playing
870s in general just as kind of a reference
873s feedback thing
875s um so yeah starting off on the new world
877s you've got your amazing little

883s um I've already created an avatar which
885s is something that you do when you first
887s start the game in 10 if you don't

922s uh yeah so the Avatar is persistent and
927s is saved towards your account
929s like locally on your account so if you
932s if you do jump into somewhere else it's
933s not Cloud synced
936s um but yeah that is persistent across

940s so you can create your avatar and then
942s once it's created you can join multiple
943s servers with it or you don't have to
945s recreate it every time you join a new
947s one it will save it individually for
950s female versus male you could have a
952s character looking one way for female and
954s another one for male
959s um yeah so
960s this plot still generates its usual
963s claims
965s and
966s I'm gonna I've gone ahead and also
968s increased for the new speed for a bit
972s pretend it doesn't exist
974s um we have a certain amount of plots is
978s tied to the property limit so the stakes
981s are kind of your bread and butter you
984s don't have these claim papers that you
986s spawn in with the beginning as you can
988s see those are gone
990s so the innate property limitation is in
992s your Stakes
993s and this is a single one and then inside
998s the plots tab is where you see these
1000s limitations got some descriptions and
1003s this is also where you drop in the claim
1005s papers when you want to improve and
1007s expand on it so
1009s well for the homestead is the base
1010s limitation
1013s and it also says how many you claimed
1016s but then if you wanted to exceed these
1019s 12 you need to add more claim papers
1022s and the claim papers will go into as
1026s soon as we opt down our first town
1029s Foundation
1030s is where you acquire new ones
1033s so everything up here
1035s Works kind of the same but the big

1153s and you pick this up it'll uproot and
1157s remove all of the plots that are claimed
1158s so this is essentially replacing that

1165s uh assets since the claims aren't
1169s and uh their own unique thing and and on

1180s otherwise you would be able to remove
1182s the claim from the map but you would

1200s assigned Deeds that you can claim for

1216s will there be different tiers of claim
1218s papers the claim papers are tiered but
1220s they're linked to specific settlements
1225s and for the admin purposes

1239s you to
1241s own claims and Stakes specifically tied
1244s to a settlement of your choice
1246s so you would do something like slash
1248s spawn settlement stake and then you'd
1250s specify the settlement and then the

1259s how do you recover it so workbench
1263s if you'd lose it or say uh
1268s you have lost that deals with inactivity

1315s they can craft a new Homestead clean

1320s a new property and kind of get rolling

1324s reclaimed their stuff

1556s it'll act as a limit a range limit piece
1561s for towns so when you create a new town
1564s and you have a homestead placed you're
1567s gonna need to be close enough to that
1569s Homestead in order to actually
1573s create a town so the town will shout at
1576s you for if it's if it's not close enough

1581s it does this by

1594s this is also where you're renaming it

1629s so when you create and place down this
1632s Foundation the foundation needs to have

1637s and this now shows up as I can select
1640s and interact with both of these Deeds

1786s when you invite someone to a residency
1788s it'll pop up saying like hey this town
1791s has invited you you want to accept and
1793s join it and if they click OK they'll be
1794s passed into the actual citizens

1801s improve we can improve them and they'll
1802s be popped over here
1804s uh since they're fake users they're not
1806s really behaving in the way normal
1807s citizens would be
1810s and this allows us to set the name for
1813s it so if we want to change this out to

1817s and here we can also change out the
1819s color that the map overlay has
1822s a secondary color and a primary color
1826s and see how it's still the requirements
1830s are met but the Constitution has yet to

3276s killing authors and you want to kick him

3293s you can like to join it and you create
3296s an election for it which works the same

3303s and then this kind of lumps up any other

3314s if this town wants to join it and all
3317s the people in this town gets to vote on
3318s it assuming that is it has a general

3343s accepting the different towns is the

3650s preventing everyone from placing a a
3653s campsite you do want to specify exactly
3657s which election you want to be targeting
3660s while I just do a blank slash pin
3663s because it just passes the only election
3665s existing in the world
3668s now that that's done we have this here
3670s and we can found the country
3673s and Bam it includes all the citizens
3675s that is a member of the towns that
3679s participated in this
3681s and
3683s they pop in here
3685s yeah historic moment
3687s and as you can see here
3691s all these citizens are spawning claim
3694s papers
3695s as long as they're a member of a town
3697s that is a member of a country
3701s and
3703s this kind of scales up so once you move
3706s into Federation then the Federation is
3708s going to be spawning all papers for all
3710s the citizens that is
3711s sort of it's umbrella covering in the
3714s different towns and in the different
3716s countries
3718s now that we have this here we have this
3721s country and at the moment like I said
3723s I'm experimenting a little bit with the
3726s ranges and radiuses
3728s so one of the things that will be
3729s happening is making sure that the
3731s cultural range of the initial country is
3734s covering the radius of those two first
3737s towns
3738s so there's there's still a little bit of
3740s work to be done there
3744s um
3745s but yeah so
3746s once you have this
3748s all of these claims can be used on any
3751s claim stake that is within the influence
3753s sphere of ultraland
3755s and the same thing for these claim
3757s Stakes
3759s um they can be used anywhere inside this
3761s country
3765s which means the bigger and this is kind
3769s of deriving to the cultural value of a
3772s town it's going to add to the cultural
3774s value of the country so if you have a
3777s really cultural boosted Town it'll make
3781s that country that actually
3783s and that adds to it gonna make that
3786s country radius even bigger
3791s um
3792s and yeah so to answer
3795s then it's kind of poked at it but
3797s um what happens to use the claims if a
3800s person goes from active to abandoned
3801s well there is an a higher incentive to
3805s keep people in the game and in your town
3811s where
3813s as you can see here you've got claim
3815s papers per active slash abandoned
3817s citizens as 20x5 and this is also a
3821s value that's
3823s um it's multiple at the moment so it's
3825s not a preset
3826s encoded one so anyone cannot tweak it
3829s and change it for their server
3831s but if you have an active citizen in
3834s your country or like a non-abandoned I
3837s would say
3839s um that citizen is worth winning claims
3843s and if you claim those 20 tiles and then
3847s that citizen turns into abandoned you'll
3850s run into something called a property
3852s crisis
3854s and
3856s this is kind of the limit
3859s in a way
3862s um where a town or a country
3866s is limited to the total amount of claims
3869s possible by the active community
3872s so you really want to keep people alive
3875s and and keep people around you
3878s um to keep kind of a healthy
3882s ongoing town and not having to deal with
3885s properties
3889s um
3890s hope it's a good way to describe it
3891s essentially you know
3893s um
3894s you can have 20 claims but if that
3896s player goes inactive
3898s that claim count goes down by 15 at the
3902s moment
3902s so you're gonna need to unclaim 15 tiles
3906s to be able to continue claiming
3910s it's kind of an innate
3912s limitation in the towns and in the
3914s settlements
3915s to deal with property shifts where you
3918s might if you have someone that goes
3920s inactive you might want to unclaim a
3923s couple of tiles for him to make sure
3924s that he's still within the valid count
3927s um to kind of reclaim that property
3930s but not boot him out completely because
3932s he is still a valued member of that town
3934s for his contribution up to that point
3938s even as an abandoned player
3942s and part of this is to
3945s kind of give a bit of incentive for
3947s people that might not be super active or
3951s they might disappear and come back next
3952s week and I have all their stuff
3953s completely ripped out
3956s um
3957s they're still necessary for the town
3960s so you shouldn't want to be incentivized
3963s to kick them out immediately
3966s now this might be a bit controversial
3970s um
3971s that does that also happen if there's
3974s still claims left or do you will have to
3976s remove the claims
3978s um
3979s in terms of the total count yeah you
3980s would need to
3982s unclaim or reclaim the property or the
3986s um the country or for the town
3988s and then kind of unclaim because it is a
3991s total count towards the settlement
3994s total of depth here
3997s so if you have say you know 400 claims
4000s that you can make with the people that
4002s you have in your town and then suddenly
4004s half of them leave and you're down to
4005s 200 then you're gonna have to unclaim
4007s 200 tiles before you're allowed to keep
4010s claiming more for someone else
4014s foreign
4016s falls under the curfew of the government
4019s of that settlement
4020s to make sure that they have a
4022s continuancy plan for when people go
4024s inactive when people join
4027s and that kind of Falls us into
4030s the last bit that we wanted to cover
4032s here
4034s and that was a bit more in depth on the
4036s immigration
4038s because that kind of got browsed over
4040s now that we have the influence radius
4042s properly reacting
4045s so inside the immigration desk
4048s you have a default immigration policy
4051s when you create your town or your
4054s country or Federation can I go just
4056s going with the the settlement
4059s reference here
4061s the one one of the things that were
4064s fixed here lately was that when you
4067s place down a Civic object you have an
4070s Associated settlement
4073s and if there's multiple influences this
4076s can happen too
4078s they get selectable here so if we do we
4081s add one more of these and we pop it into
4085s into here it should pop up here yeah so
4088s this town is inside the influence radius
4091s of both alter land as well as other town
4094s so I can select
4097s um
4097s where
4099s this is
4103s um in which area this should be enacted
4106s in and this is something that you can't
4108s change the associated settlement if
4111s there is an active policy or an active
4113s law
4116s um and it'll default to whichever is
4120s gonna make sense for it so if it's in
4123s the town it'll be here if it's placed
4125s only in the nation it'll pop down here
4128s but inside this
4130s we're going to revise the immigration
4132s policy
4134s we have a couple of
4139s and a noteworthy and really important
4141s options
4144s um one of the things being around
4146s applicants so if you set this to to not
4149s or no
4152s um
4153s you can you cannot apply freely to it
4157s so this is basically turning it into an
4159s invite only state
4163s you can also set requirements for any
4165s new settlements that that they are
4167s needing to
4169s complete to be able to apply to it so
4172s say
4174s um
4176s you know you they want them to be a
4178s resident of a certain District or
4183s they you don't want admins in your town
4186s and then you can select it's not admin
4188s and yeah just not let admins in here or
4192s you can do the opposite and you can have
4193s an admin town and no one else is allowed
4195s to join except the admins
4197s um and then you also have who is
4199s approving these conditions so this is
4202s what I was talking about with the head
4203s of state being the default selected
4205s option for approving New Towns joining
4208s the country
4210s so this is something that you can revise
4212s and change out to whatever you want
4216s and then you have requirements for
4217s continued citizenship which is fairly
4220s self-explanatory if they breach this
4222s condition they'll be kicked out of
4225s kicked out of the settlement after a
4227s certain amount of hours and then this is
4229s the set amount of hours that is required
4231s to be
4233s and remedy the situation
4236s and then you have the option to allow
4239s brand new people to instantly join
4241s and then requirements for new child
4243s settlements
4246s um
4247s this will basically prevent
4251s um
4252s you from startings in New Towns inside
4255s this
4256s but this is also handled inside the
4258s immigration so if you want to create a
4259s new town in this country
4262s this would need to be set as yes
4266s if this is a no then you can't create
4269s new towns so this is something that is
4271s available for countries that may not
4274s want more towns to be generated under
4276s its umbrella
4280s um
4281s and then you have
4283s the allow brand new people to instantly
4285s join
4286s so this will be it'll allow you to join
4291s this settlement
4292s when they spawn in in that town
4295s and this was what we were talking about
4297s I believe this should probably work

4315s is an election and it passes through the
4318s same criterias as everything else if we

4379s advertisement thing or maybe specify

4389s you know time zone you're in that is
4392s preferable to be able to play together
4394s or you know any kind of like vtext thing
4402s and you have multiple immigration
4403s policies that you so you can perhaps
4406s have a general one and one for skill
4408s place I don't think it allows for more
4411s than one active policy
4414s or settlement

4424s I believe
4429s somewhere
4432s um yeah this will be
4435s some of the pieces here will be covered
4437s in the later stream with culture and
4438s annexation and kind of hostile takeovers

4556s that could be tricky you do have like a
4560s generic if I do slash give plain papers
4566s and paper I can't remember what they're
4567s called they might even be
4570s it might actually be

4585s if I spawn them in
4588s they don't have a link to anything
4590s and I believe they shouldn't be usable
4592s either they might be at the moment
4595s yeah at the moment they're they're still
4598s usable and they're Universal which means
4600s you could shove them in to do anywhere

4604s but we are also adding a command for
4607s admins that allows you to spawn in
4610s specifically linked papers and

4620s um as for if you don't have the
4622s settlement feature enabled at all
4625s you are still limited to the claim
4628s Stakes but they're generated on level
4629s UPS
4630s and the papers are still generated the
4632s same way
