A little context for my confusion:

I play on a small server with under 7 other people, we are friends so we're just playing for fun. I have been elected leader and the current 'hot topic' is concern over bridges (some people want them others don't). Some bridges have had the land claimed by the builder, to prevent sabotage and stuff. Unfortunately, debris has fallen onto his bridges, slowing traffic and he has not been online to clear it.

Cue the law system. I proposed the following law:

  • 'When attempting to unclaim property where (performed on property Bridge) - allow)

This was supposed the allow for people to unclaim the bridges and remove debris but obviously, this didn't work so I'd like to know where I went wrong, or if it's even possible in the current state of the game.

Additionally, I proposed these laws too:

  • 'When attempting to Abandon Specialty - allow'
This was to allow for flexibility in professions
  • 'When attempting to run for office - prevent'
For that sweet USSR roleplay but also to prevent any trolling by starting an election

Neither of these two laws have passed yet so I do not know if they will work, and I'd like to know if they would. If they do not, why and how can I change this?

It would also be very handy to know what kind of limitations I can expect when trying to propose a law, because I really thought I had it with the Bridge Nationalisation Act.

Cheers for any helpful advice.

Hey there.

'When attempting to unclaim property where (performed on property Bridge) - allow)

Only the owner of a property can unclaim it. This law is the default, it does not do anything, only prevent would do something, otherwise it's allowed for the owner anyway. You cannot allow others to unclaim plots from other people via laws yet.

'When attempting to Abandon Specialty - allow'

Same here with the addition that abandoning specialties was removed from the game in update 8.0. But before that everyone could abandon specialties by default, only prevent had an affect.

'When attempting to run for office - prevent'

This will work.
