53s | from the title and I also have a cat |

57s | the zone um we've got 10.1 out of the |
62s | gate we've got a few hot fixes out for |
64s | that uh hopefully people are having a |
66s | somewhat smooth Journey um we have been |
69s | really trying to break down and make |
71s | sure that we get as much broken stuff |
76s | um uh as much broken stuff out of the |
78s | way and kind of get a lot of Polish and |
81s | Bug fixes out and a armored so you |
84s | popped over into twitch as well um so it |
88s | you know it's been it's been pretty uh |
89s | pretty hectic for a lot of the team um |
92s | but everyone is kind of back in Action |

96s | speed uh and today we'll break down a |
99s | few things that we have planned for 10.2 |
101s | there's still there's still a few things |
104s | that we haven't really gotten completed |
106s | and we in like game play introduction |
110s | phase um so unfortunately there are some |
115s | things that I just don't have in-game |
117s | visuals for uh but we'll break down a |
120s | little bit on what we uh what we have |
122s | planned what we have in store and what |
124s | we're |
125s | uh uh how these things are going to be |
127s | looking and um especially in regards to |
132s | what we're doing with smelting which is |
134s | a big topic and I know someone was |
137s | commenting early on in the chat here |
139s | that oh but smelting isn't you know |
142s | isn't that much of a Powerhouse um |
144s | compared to some of the other |
146s | professions and that's true if you're |
147s | look if you're looking at uh Mechanics |
149s | for examp which is a which has you know |
152s | all the iron Goods as our dependency |
155s | unless the smelters deliver and is |
157s | really up to it and churns out all the |
160s | different raw materials then these the |
163s | mechanic isn't going to be able to build |
165s | any trucks or you know whichever |
168s | part and I think we just kind of switch |

175s | um we'll do a bit of a bit of a |

181s | um with a flow shart of |
185s | how um and and I'm kind of just jumping |
189s | into it immediately you know hi uh my |

219s | goes above and beyond be it by trying to |
222s | figure things out in the vanilla side or |
224s | the modders who are absolutely Stellar |
226s | that tries to fix anything that isn't |
228s | part of the vanilla um while we trudge |
232s | along and do things um from our side and |
234s | kind of improve their |
237s | life and uh yeah so what we're looking |
240s | at here is what we have today in 10.1 or |
247s | you know previous Eco um where you had |
251s | smelting as a kind of all encompassing |
256s | does everything with iron copper and |
258s | gold um in terms of raw material con you |
261s | know production into intermediary |
264s | ingredients and then ships it off to |
265s | electronics or |
268s | whatnot and then we have advanced |
270s | smelting that is doing basically the |
271s | same but anything that is not basic iron |
274s | bars um so the steel processing which is |
278s | um turning iron bars into steel |
281s | converting it as well as creating the |
283s | steel bar the um the rivets out of steel |
286s | rebar pipes um as well as having two |
289s | craftable block |
292s | sets |
294s | and a big problem that we ran into and |
298s | and have had a lot of feedback about |
300s | back and forth and and trying to kind of |
301s | scratch our heads in what we wanted to |
303s | do with it and what we could do with it |
306s | without dumbing it down |

410s | steel saws used for the crafting tables |
412s | if there's no need for crafting tables |
414s | you know you're not going to sell more |
415s | you're not going to make more steel |
416s | sauce and and so |
418s | on um the blue being tools which is |
421s | going to be moved over |
424s | so um so this is you know you know where |
426s | we going um added on some notes for like |
429s | what my where my thoughts are looking at |
434s | this uh almost but close enough um so |
438s | the big the big problems we have with it |
440s | is it has both of these professions have |
443s | very very limited very remote purchasing |
448s | power involvement into the General |
451s | market and that's something that we |
454s | significantly wanted to change because |
456s | you could do a ridiculous vertical |
458s | scaling which is a big concern for a lot |
460s | of people that play either Solo or with |
463s | very few groups or you know few |
465s | individuals in their |
466s | groups and the like having that mining |
471s | smelting Advanced smelting suddenly you |
473s | could do industry if you wanted to and |
474s | just on four skill points or specialty |
477s | points you could just cover a very very |
481s | large volume of the progression Spectrum |
485s | you'd still have dependencies in things |
487s | like milling and um you know tailoring |
490s | and whatnot but there's there there's |
492s | very few fractions of involvement in |
496s | there like there's a very few pieces |
498s | that goes here a few pieces goes there |
500s | they're essential but it's not a big |
502s | item transaction in between these two |
504s | professions on the contrary where mining |
508s | to smelting and smelting to Advanced |
509s | smel thing |
511s | is a very very large chunk of um the |
515s | gameplay Loop which is something that |
517s | we're looking at breaking down to be |
520s | more |
522s | sensible um but also leave a bit more of |
525s | an expansionary area for later things as |
530s | well um yeah and and advanced smelting |
533s | also has tier three tier four block sets |
535s | as well while tier four revolves in oil |
538s | drilling um for those uh epoxy |
541s | involvement the corrugated steel isn't |
543s | so that's basically you need three |
547s | Specialties and you can just do tier |
548s | three building blocks without having to |
550s | involve anyone |
553s | else um so that's kind of our our |
556s | starting point where we really kind of |
560s | wanted we we took a look at it and went |
562s | like this is this is really really weird |
565s | um compared to what we've done with |
567s | lumber for example in it's heavily |
570s | involved with everything else |
572s | um starting to do it a little bit with |
575s | glassworking and kind of nudging some of |
577s | these other auxiliary professions to |
579s | have |
580s | more |
582s | um of where you know kind of nudging it |
585s | to be more of a web area and more |
587s | involvement in the general Community |
589s | also while at the same time still trying |
591s | to keep enough stuff in these |
593s | professions to make them a constant |
598s | work |
600s | um so a few of the things that kind of |
604s | we poked on is how can we split these |
607s | recipes up where do we want them to land |
609s | what new intermediary ingredients can we |
612s | be looking at in terms of adding where |
615s | and |
617s | how um so a few things that kind of |
622s | stood out is things like the pipes which |
626s | is a really weird thing to have on an |
628s | anvil for for |
630s | example |
631s | um what if we involve smelting into be a |
635s | more direct casting part which would |
638s | allow us to do things like a a lesser |
641s | version of um some of the high high |
646s | consuming items for mechanics like gears |
649s | and so on um which would allow us to do |
653s | smelting would be more of a transitional |
655s | thing into mechanics as well by |
657s | supplementing some of those parts |
661s | um while still retaining the hole it |
663s | focus is on smelting you know turning |
666s | concentrate and and ore into usable |
669s | Metals |
671s | um and separating some of these direct |
674s | hard craftables out and that's kind of |
677s | where the whole color coding thing broke |
679s | down into to make sure that we have we |
682s | always have something in the professions |
684s | that are a constant need consumable item |
687s | that you can constantly have as Revenue |
689s | Source um in between and and you know |
692s | being able to export and constantly make |
694s | money in this |
696s | profession while taking out some of the |
698s | pieces that may not be |
700s | necessary and leaving them into so I |
703s | started breaking this up into a |
706s | more |
708s | uh shifting things around a little bit |
710s | now the extruder isn't done yet which is |
712s | why I haven't included it for the pipes |
715s | um so smelting will be doing things on |
717s | the extruder for that same thing for |
720s | for um like this thing |
724s | here that one and that one would go on |
726s | the extruder same thing for the |
730s | rebar |
731s | um so I wanted to keep so looking at |
734s | blacksmithing it immediately made it |
737s | really uh really evident to and and kind |
739s | of tricky to |
742s | see where this kind of constant sail |
745s | thing was going to be happening because |
748s | suddenly you know you have Bank you're |
750s | going to be making like two or three of |
751s | those you got the bint maybe you know if |
754s | if it goes really crazy you have |
758s | that |
759s | um you know a few towns may have |
762s | different currencies but mainly you |
764s | generally just see like a global |
765s | currency or some rival currencies and |
768s | then it goes into that |
771s | um same thing with like decoratives and |
774s | housing you can only make so many which |
777s | is a a big flaw at the moment that we're |
779s | looking at um we've been speculating a |
781s | little bit about like maintenance and |
783s | and being able to add that constant |
786s | economy revolving aspect of it and just |
788s | have that durability drain which you |
791s | know replacement of things so the two |
794s | the two things in blacksmithing that |
796s | really kind of had to happen was one |
798s | tools being given |
800s | because um one I'm I'm not really a fan |
803s | of how much tools we have all over the |
805s | place in different areas with very OD |
810s | kind of Specialties for it like Advanced |
813s | smelting |
814s | dust things and then regular smelting |
817s | dust things but none of them are really |
819s | kind of focused into actual crafting |
821s | hence why this kind of felt like a good |
823s | area to explore and see how it |
827s | worked um so nails for lumber Lumber |
830s | kind of falls off as well um and that's |
834s | also a good point like the iron wheels |
836s | are made by basic engineering at the |
838s | moment could be a blacksmithing thing um |
842s | the pens a little bit um I was also |
845s | tinkering with the idea of um smelting |
849s | having casting tool |
851s | heads which would basically be just a |
854s | consumable for the blacksmith to uh as |
857s | an intermediary to do tools |
860s | with |
863s | um yeah and and the whole the whole idea |
865s | of repair repair and recycle has also |
868s | been a big thing |
869s | that haven't really decided on but I'm |
872s | looking into whether or not we do want |
874s | to do wet Stones um to |
877s | allow kind of everyone to repair things |
882s | um but have that availability |
886s | um so you don't have to constantly visit |
889s | the blacksmith to get your repairs |
893s | up |
896s | um uh so just kind of about back and |
898s | forth there |
899s | now on these two now looking at what's |
904s | left in these professions once that's |
906s | cut |
907s | out um you are looking at a very glaring |
912s | problem because contrary |
915s | to where we are now where a smeltery has |
920s | a need for planks because of the tools |
922s | it has a need for lumber because of some |
924s | of the |
925s | craftables and the same thing for |
927s | advanced smelting has a need for for |
929s | some of the other materials like |
930s | fiberglass is necessary for the tools |
932s | and so on um glass is needed for some of |
935s | the signs and and |
937s | whatnot once all of that is kind of cut |
940s | out that purchasing power is ending up |
942s | with the |
943s | blacksmithing so suddenly blacksmithing |
946s | has all of these cool dependencies to |
947s | everywhere and and kind of webbed around |
951s | however um this the the actual direct |
953s | smelting had even less of a General |
956s | market impact in terms of what they |
958s | needed |
961s | um |
963s | so here in came like the the general |
966s | notion that you've been poking at in |
969s | chat um is the whole idea of |
972s | casts |
974s | and um we experimented a little bit with |
977s | them in terms of the lumber or the um |
979s | sorry the the wooden molds for the |
982s | bricks and I know it's a little bit of a |
986s | 50/50 in uh whether or not we want to |
989s | have them completely hard consumed |
993s | on um |
996s | use which is contrary to like the |
999s | barrels for oil drilling um which we |
1002s | also were looking into increasing |
1005s | volumetric craftables with it's |
1009s | been um it it's been um like multiply it |
1014s | by 10 or something so you craft more |
1015s | Barrels in one go just to reduce the |
1018s | amount of General |
1019s | interact ability the alternative is just |
1021s | making it cost more and then have a a |
1024s | much higher yield on things like um |
1027s | plastic and so on but have the craftable |
1029s | time a lot |
1033s | longer |
1036s | um that is actually a good question um |
1039s | curious like no one takes smelting that |
1041s | doesn't already take mining um is it |
1043s | actually useful to make an additional |
1045s | star skill that they'd have to take for |
1047s | the same jobs |
1049s | um yes and no one um it would need it |
1055s | would require you to spend an additional |
1057s | star to consolidate your foundation |
1061s | of what you're crafting and where you're |
1064s | at um and it directly inhibits you from |
1068s | being able to |
1070s | do all of it |
1073s | basically um and it it broadens out the |
1077s | spectrum of both the the early game as |
1080s | well as in into the mid game like you |
1082s | can't just cover the entire progression |
1085s | line um that deals with that |
1089s | um and armored Stone that's actually |
1091s | also a very good thing um and I'll I'll |
1094s | touch on that in a little |
1097s | bit so as we can see we have no |
1100s | dependencies everything's sort of |
1103s | gone um so the molds are are a thing and |
1106s | we do have a sneaky asset and I I think |
1109s | I enabled it and when I restarted the |
1113s | um uh the server let me just see |
1119s | if I think it's bter table |
1125s | Yeah so we have this thing that have |
1128s | been kind of creeping around the project |
1130s | it doesn't have an icon yet but |
1132s | it's um it's a thing |
1136s | so uh |
1139s | and and I forgot to add the crafting |
1142s | component on it um but yeah so basically |
1145s | what we wanted to do was one of the one |
1146s | of the resources that you really get em |
1149s | embedded in and then just drowning in |
1151s | early |
1152s | on um is |
1155s | clay and a fairly simplistic way to make |
1159s | cast |
1160s | molds is things like clay slash you know |
1164s | sand |
1166s | um as a base and we see the the pot |
1171s | scares me um we see this in a lot of a |
1174s | lot of really really really large scale |
1176s | Metal Works today where they have a |
1179s | basically a sand clay mold in the |
1183s | ground um to cast uh like like big ship |
1188s | cogs and and whatnot into um instead of |
1191s | having like these big bulky Machinery |
1193s | above ground and and you know having to |
1195s | kind of figure around um clay felt like |
1198s | a really good way to one |
1201s | use um add a Rocker Box Rocker Box be oh |
1206s | for for turning dirt into clay and |
1210s | sand um maybe we'll see |
1215s | um because we we still don't want like |
1217s | Total Resource conversion back and forth |
1219s | up and down um but it you know all all |
1222s | of those things kind of float around in |
1224s | my head constantly uh unfortunately |
1226s | can't get them out of there um so here's |
1231s | kind of |
1233s | where my caution comes in |
1237s | where I and as blastus points out would |
1240s | this make pottery into an earlier |
1242s | specialty |
1244s | and I don't like that idea per |
1249s | se um because of you kind of we kind of |
1255s | start shifting more and more Specialties |
1256s | into just like tier one tier two |
1260s | um |
1262s | however it what I was thinking of doing |
1265s | is do a little bit of what we have with |
1267s | the H mortar going on right now like you |
1269s | would have a horrible recipe for it in |
1272s | in lack of a better term and and kind of |
1274s | you know really driving the point having |
1277s | a bad/ horrible recipe for making brick |
1279s | molds or um clay molds for |
1282s | casting uh with Clay early on in like |
1285s | the workbench and then have pottery |
1289s | be able to do |
1290s | this um in a Potter table so you have a |
1294s | basically a tier one tier two kind of |
1299s | um recipe for it where one is affected |
1302s | by the module upgrades and one |
1304s | isn't um to revolve around sand or clay |
1308s | depending |
1310s | on and then we can we we can start using |
1313s | this thing as well as the art team is |
1315s | also looking at like doing whole whole |
1317s | bunch of more decoratives and bases and |
1319s | and everything else |
1321s | um and it will allow us to kind of split |
1324s | off some of the um some of the recipes |
1326s | from the Kil as well to drop it on this |
1328s | table instead um which would require |
1331s | which would allow us to do things like |
1332s | modular requirements in rooms like you |
1335s | have certain recipes that require a kiln |
1338s | and that's also what we'll what we'll be |
1340s | looking at in um in the metal Workshop |
1343s | as |
1346s | well um Glass Works really need an e |
1348s | reusable as well yes and that will we'll |
1351s | we'll go in on that a little bit here as |
1354s | well because I have I have something in |
1355s | mind that I think people might |
1360s | like uh Shale brick recipe should be a |
1362s | crushed iron ore recipe for |
1365s | bricks um not a bad |
1368s | idea |
1370s | um some other some other brick variation |
1373s | recipes might might not be |
1376s | uh completely |
1379s | alien |
1381s | um so yeah so casting will require the |
1385s | molds into it and I think I |
1387s | changed yeah so I I I just kind of threw |
1390s | them in a static right now um still |
1392s | debatable |
1394s | um drop in suggestions on what you'd |
1398s | like to see if you want the the the clay |
1400s | molds to or the the cast molds I just |
1403s | named them clay molds because brain |
1405s | freeze when I wrote it up um earlier |
1409s | um if you'd like to see them to behave |
1412s | like the wooden |
1414s | molds um in terms of |
1418s | static |
1420s | versus dynamic as well as refund versus |
1423s | no refund refund means it'll reduce the |
1426s | amount consumable required as you'd get |
1430s | stuff back however it also adds more |
1433s | inventory |
1436s | complication um |
1441s | and you know just drop messages out and |
1444s | and discuss it point it |
1447s | um taste it a little bit and see what |
1450s | you |
1452s | feel |
1455s | um so much hinges on Pottery already |
1458s | when moving to tier two making bars |
1459s | behind it seem it two seems silly |
1464s | um that was also a |
1466s | concern um however there is |
1469s | also it it's also kind of a weird |
1472s | transitional phase where you get into |
1474s | kind of mid game bricks gets super |
1476s | heavily used and then you move out of |
1478s | mid game and go into late |
1481s | game then you suddenly no one cares |
1483s | about bricks no one wants bricks no one |
1485s | makes bricks and it's like Pottery just |
1488s | completely falls |
1490s | off um hence why I kind of wanted it to |
1493s | be that now here's here's a curve |
1497s | ball uh um I was wondering whether or |
1499s | not it seemed sensible to have Gathering |
1503s | make the initial recipe for it so if you |
1506s | had the the crappy recipe would be |
1508s | something that gatherers can |
1510s | do um or if it's something that we |
1512s | wanted anyone to be able to do which |
1514s | then brings back to why would why would |
1517s | the |
1518s | smelters um bother with get getting |
1522s | anything else uh but Stick it to gathers |
1524s | which would then bring them around into |
1526s | it and then leave the pottery a |
1529s | bit |
1531s | um and see where it lands out so there's |
1534s | there's a few things there that might |
1535s | change um as we get this into play |
1537s | testing as |
1540s | well um so you know things may not be |
1543s | what you know may not result in |
1546s | what |
1549s | um what I kind of blabber out at the |
1551s | moment um as tweaks happened we might |
1554s | revise and go like hey you know this |
1556s | this sounded like a good idea but now |
1558s | that we see it in practicality it was |
1559s | absolutely |
1562s | horrific |
1566s | um gatherers already have a problem in |
1568s | late game where they don't really They |
1570s | Don't Really interact with the economy |
1572s | Beyond tier one and or tractors so |
1574s | adding more stuff for them to earn is |
1575s | counterproductive at best that that |
1578s | sounds like preor that |
1582s | that I'm confused about that |
1587s | statement |

1593s | yeah and that's that's also kind of a |
1596s | um something that I was looking on to |
1599s | Pondo as well in case of like what if we |
1602s | make the break we make the the the molds |
1604s | from |
1605s | Pottery being |
1608s | a thing related |
1610s | to just the steel stuff and then have |
1614s | like I don't know a |
1617s | primitive primitive type |
1619s | op um for iron or you know not have |
1623s | molds for one or the |
1626s | other green |
1628s | sand uh |
1631s | yeah uh in our rounds the farmers |
1633s | doesn't really need to invest once they |
1635s | have Mills and tractors so they just |
1637s | keep on earning and earning without |
1638s | having to spend more that is a true fact |
1641s | um and the main reason for that is |
1642s | because of the whole uh as we were |
1644s | talking about with the whole maintenance |
1646s | thing like you don't have a reoccurring |
1647s | cost and an investment which then means |
1650s | that certain professions ends up like |
1652s | the grassroot professions ends up in a |
1654s | state of I never have to worry about |
1657s | buying anything from anyone and I can |
1659s | just keep earning |
1662s | money and that's something that we |
1664s | definitely are looking into and breaking |
1667s | into |
1669s | um because you're part of the intention |
1672s | behind like durability and things for |
1675s | the tractors and |
1676s | whatnot um |
1680s | is to add that cost to |
1683s | Farmers in some |
1686s | way and then I see there there's there's |
1689s | a very |
1690s | interesting kind of opposite Camp going |
1693s | on here now |
1695s | with like Farmers farmers who commented |
1698s | on doesn't make |
1699s | money and then on the other hand is |
1702s | Farmers Only make money they have no you |
1704s | know they have no |
1706s | cost |
1712s | um so there you know there there's a lot |
1714s | of room for experimentation here in |
1716s | terms of where how this recipe |
1719s | explicitly will be looking at who wool |
1722s | can be crafting it um and that's kind of |
1726s | what I'll be doing and and breaking down |
1728s | into uh more analytically by |
1733s | U uh towards the week here and uh |
1737s | hopefully have everything in a |
1739s | PR uh early in the week to kind of get |
1742s | stuff tested and into uh in so people |
1746s | can poke at it if they want to on |
1747s | staging and play test |

1752s | uh so what are these things going to be |
1755s | looking at uh we you know we we talked |
1758s | about the general Tory we talked about |
1760s | the general functionality for them and |
1761s | and kind of the the heads space as to |
1763s | where and why we're doing the |
1765s | changes um but what are they going to |
1767s | actually look |
1769s | like uh we |
1773s | have we have first |
1777s | off we have |
1779s | a uh stage |
1781s | off for the black smithing |
1785s | table and here we are the art team is |
1788s | starting to really break down into |
1791s | refining the assets to make sure that we |
1793s | have LS for them we have all the the |
1796s | gizmos as well as uh a lot of |
1798s | optimization going into how these are |
1801s | being |
1804s | made |
1806s | um so you know completely new tech |
1809s | behind this asset um in in a lot of |
1812s | cases um it's sharing more texture with |
1814s | other |
1816s | stuff uh my concern is that smelting |
1819s | Advanced smelting will become kind of a |
1820s | boring job to like all dril and fing |
1822s | yeah |
1823s | so it it'll be more sensible once some |
1827s | of these other things are going in |
1829s | because part of the idea is that you |
1831s | need |
1833s | more um kind of expand more stuff in a |
1836s | workshop and so on like smelting will |
1839s | require um Extrusion and and like higher |
1843s | tier rooms to be able to do all the |
1845s | things necessary for |
1848s | them |
1850s | um black Smiths use forges yes we |
1854s | already have like for the actual |
1856s | smelting part and like since we don't |
1858s | really have a reheat you know a hot bar |
1861s | um put up you know put a bar into a fire |
1864s | and then take it out to actually work on |
1865s | it and and have like the state change of |
1868s | them um we already have the bloomery |
1871s | that is kind of Representative of this |
1874s | so someone that is doing the whole piece |

1934s | upgrade or so on and it would get a |
1936s | whole bunch of new tools or you know |
1938s | other changes visually to it so you can |
1941s | reflectively see what's going on with |
1944s | it um hence why we're we're sort of |
1948s | approaching World objects a little bit |
1950s | differently than what we used to do um |
1953s | so there's a few things that's being |
1954s | experimented in the background um AR |
1957s | Tech wise and so on so you know stay |
1959s | tuned for |
1962s | that uh and then we have currently |
1965s | untextured uh mileno is The Mastermind |
1968s | behind a mechanically forced driven |
1971s | power |
1973s | hammer so this is what you will be |
1975s | looking at in the mechanic era and |
1977s | transitioning over into steel |
1981s | production so this is moving all the |
1984s | general steel Associated recipes from |
1986s | the Anvil to being like a a steel |

1991s | Anvil so this thing has it's it's |
1993s | currently being rigged up it has a whole |
1995s | bunch of animations and everything it |
1996s | looked really cool um and hopefully |
2000s | it'll be |
2001s | uh it'll be done fairly um fairly |
2004s | shortly this thing is mechanically |

2007s | um and that's also kind of into the |
2010s | whole upgrade system we are looking at |
2013s | whether or not we can't just kind of |
2016s | switch the power layer on upgrades as |
2021s | well so if you drop in say an advanced |
2023s | upgrade it'll bump up and stop being |
2025s | mechanically powered to being |
2026s | electrically powered and so |
2031s | on um so there's there's some backend |
2034s | things there that we're looking into um |
2038s | and then we have something that I |
2039s | haven't mentioned earlier um it's |
2042s | potentially not making it into 10.2 it |
2045s | depends a little bit on |
2048s | um workload for art team um as well as |
2052s | kind of rigging it up in unity and |
2054s | sorting all of that |
2056s | out um but we have in mind to completely |
2059s | move all the bows and everything |
2062s | off the um like the anal and and all of |
2065s | that like make fletchery into to its own |
2068s | thing this would go into hunting Tech |
2072s | Tree um so this would be something that |
2075s | the hunters are producing and |
2076s | maintaining for other |

2084s | uh and then we have the uh uh the |
2087s | grinding |
2090s | stone which would be kind of where we |
2093s | shift over repairs |

2104s | oh yeah the whole the whole multiple |

2113s | um something that we're looking into |
2115s | because it would help and do a lot of |
2119s | things to boost that whole part and it |
2122s | would allow us to balance damage a lot |

2143s | thing yeah we we have it's been a topic |
2147s | back and forth a few times internally in |
2151s | uh if we don't want physically |

2174s | thingy and and yeah like like Creator so |

2188s | transmission thing um and It's tricky |
2192s | because there's a few objects that |
2193s | doesn't really make sense in terms of |
2195s | how they look how they interact and and |
2196s | the style for |
2198s | Eco uh yeah timberborn that was that was |
2201s | what I was looking for |
2203s | um because like mechanical Power gets |
2206s | really bulky really quickly and it's |
2209s | hard to build anything that kind of |
2211s | looks nice without making it 20 times |
2215s | larger than it needs to be |
2219s | um or you build something really weird |
2222s | just to kind of hide this you know the |
2224s | soall mechanical cables |
2229s | away and so tagging it onto the whole |
2232s | Wireless thing was something |
2235s | that was sort of a a |
2238s | um a compromise in terms of trying to |
2242s | keep it visually |
2243s | attractive while also kind of making |
2246s | sense for an energy consumption to |
2258s | happen |
2262s | um what's the plan for the grindstone |
2264s | you guys changing out how durability |
2266s | Works would be interested to see tools |
2268s | instead of just being either good or |
2269s | broken go from pristine sharp warn do |
2271s | chipped yeah prefix suffixes is always |
2274s | difficult and it's not something that |
2275s | really would |
2277s | not going to say work but something that |
2280s | would be very strange in Eco in terms |
2283s | of displaying the property |
2287s | somehow um that |
2289s | said it is possible to do something |
2293s | like every time like when you repair it |
2296s | it lowers the maximum |
2299s | durability so you would have a constant |
2301s | drain of tools because they would just |
2303s | never be pristinely repaired every time |
2306s | you repair |
2317s | uh yeah something in that line some |
2320s | something in those lines because a lot |
2321s | of there's a lot of survival games |
2323s | that's gone that route and I kind of |
2324s | like it because it has that constant |
2326s | replacement |
2329s | need um as for General the the general |
2333s | modules things um the one of the one of |
2335s | the thoughts that I have on doing is |
2337s | just scrapping the the one to four |
2339s | values for them and just have basic |
2340s | Advanced and modern across and then you |
2344s | would just have each of those in every |
2347s | table but that is you know further down |
2350s | the line 10 point 10 point something in |
2352s | the |
2359s | future uh Pottery requiring Advanced |
2361s | upgrades is a huge drain on players |
2364s | doing it most Potter seems to quit |
2365s | really fast yeah I I don't know if |
2368s | that's just because all they do is just |
2371s | like you know a single building block |
2374s | and they just you know don't have any |
2376s | more worktables |
2377s | and this is once again sort of into why |
2381s | we're breaking some of these things up |
2383s | especially the ones that have really |
2384s | really high volumes of recipes over very |
2386s | small crafting |
2389s | tables um it's easier to make reinforced |
2391s | over bricks to be honest yeah reinforced |
2394s | is also kind of a |
2397s | whatnot |
2399s | um basic upgrade suffers from not from |
2402s | not having modules for the research |
2405s | table |
2407s | um yeah that |
2410s | too |
2412s | um it is interesting though because then |
2415s | and that's it it brings into the whole |
2417s | like tier 2 tier three transition is |
2419s | just way too |
2421s | fast and it's something that I'd like to |
2424s | look at in terms of like you |
2427s | get |
2433s | um yeah tier four is let's let's not |
2438s | even go there I was about to say but um |
2442s | it's not necessarily to make progression |
2444s | slower it's just to have more stuff in |
2447s | between and make research make sense in |
2449s | between those sections like tier one to |
2452s | tier |
2454s | two you have a transition time off of |
2457s | you know roughly 5 days give or take |
2459s | like up to a week depending a little bit |
2461s | on what the service looking like what |
2463s | the collaboration is um the quantity of |
2467s | active |
2469s | players uh because as far as I've seen |
2471s | across the |
2473s | board um you have sort of a if you have |
2478s | too few |
2480s | players um it takes too long to |
2484s | progress and then you have that kind of |
2487s | sweet spot the server settings are tuned |
2490s | to have the appropriate amount of people |
2494s | on a server that's adequately sized in |
2497s | in you know volume so it's not small |
2501s | enough to be |
2503s | annoyingly you know |
2505s | surrounding while not big enough to |
2508s | cause a hurdle with very very long and |
2512s | frustrating |
2515s | um trans like transport |
2518s | time but then you have that once you go |
2522s | past that and you go into an even larger |
2526s | quantity of |
2527s | population the progression kind of halts |
2530s | off because you have more people that |
2532s | wants the same basic materials that's |
2535s | required to |
2537s | progress um or you have the opposite |
2540s | effect of everything everyone is doing |
2543s | is going straight into progression so |
2545s | you speed up very quickly |
2547s | but people don't have any materials to |
2548s | build with get bored and drop out |
2550s | because of |
2562s | that and we see this |
2564s | on I mean we we've seen this on tiger |
2567s | quite a few times as well or um white |
2570s | tiger official server where as long as |
2573s | you have kind of a functioning |
2574s | government that just like subsidizes |
2576s | stuff that people people think are less |
2577s | attractive or kind of steer the ship of |
2581s | progression and and making progression |
2583s | not speed out of |
2586s | control |
2588s | um and so |
2591s | on and then you you kind of get into a |
2594s | point where either the server will have |
2596s | infinite amount of building materials |
2597s | because they progressed so quickly they |
2598s | got up to that as as mentioned in the |
2600s | chat you get up to that late tier and |
2603s | you have excavators and skid steers and |
2605s | suddenly you know you lose the the need |
2607s | for 90% of the people just because no |
2609s | one needs to |
2611s | upgrade and that's a big chunk of why I |
2614s | want to look and and kind of change out |
2616s | how the the upgrade modules work and |
2619s | requires um because it it's an innate |
2622s | problem of like carpentry as a |
2625s | profession it never needs anything |
2628s | higher than tier |
2631s | one um where you know you you just need |
2636s | a tier one one house for your carpentry |
2637s | table and you you know that's that's it |
2639s | you never have to do anything else why |
2641s | would you care to stick |
2643s | around if you don't have a benefit of or |
2647s | a need to upgrade say if you're doing |
2649s | some basic uh you skill up and and you |
2652s | know you join a server you hop in you do |
2654s | some basic stuff |
2657s | um |
2660s | and like 80% of the population on the |
2664s | server just doesn't see seem |
2667s | to have a need to upgrade which is |
2670s | because they just do the bare minimum |
2672s | for to fit their worktables |
2674s | so a few things that we are looking into |
2677s | is have more auxiliary |
2680s | Furniture to do things |
2683s | like |
2687s | um uh to have like recipes locked in |
2690s | behind different types of furniture that |
2692s | would benefit upgrade and and ambient |
2694s | the room up to make to need kind of |
2697s | force people to need a |
2700s | workshop um and so on to kind of bump |
2703s | that we you know mechanics and Industry |
2705s | is a good example on this because we |
2707s | have the basic General table which is |
2709s | The Machinist table or the electric |
2711s | machinist table for the |
2713s | industry and we |
2715s | have all of these other kind of utility |
2718s | crafting tables that it has which bumps |
2722s | the volume scaling for the room so you |
2724s | need to have this big Workshop to fit |
2726s | the rooms and so |
2729s | on um and it's something that I'd like |
2732s | to see more for the for the enal |
2734s | professions which is |
2737s | why um it's one of the things for the |
2739s | blacksmithing that you know it kind of |
2741s | had to have at least three tables to |
2744s | make sense to be more utilitarian in |
2747s | purpose of what it's interacting with |
2749s | bumping in between the two and and yeah |
2752s | the chat is going absolutely crazy I |
2753s | love |
2755s | it |
2758s | um but it's it's it's bring bringing |
2761s | life into the profession and expanding |
2764s | the things you need for that profession |
2765s | that really keeps the economy going on |
2767s | the server because at the end of the |
2769s | day um unless you have a need to upgrade |
2774s | people are generally not going to |
2776s | upgrade that's just a matter of fact |
2779s | unless they you know creatively want to |
2781s | upgrade because they like the style of |
2784s | this particular building material and so |
2786s | on or you know they want to build a |
2788s | fancy Workshop you know Factory building |
2791s | or a cool looking aesthetically pleasing |
2795s | sales room and so |
2797s | on |

2805s | design point of view |
2807s | into helping players do that without |
2812s | arbitrarily |
2813s | just slap on uh you know oh you you know |
2817s | you can't just use this you're going to |

2820s | have Workshop three table in there to |
2823s | use these last three recipes and that |
2825s | requires a tier 4 room um but something |
2828s | that would progressively help you along |
2830s | the way and be uh kind of a carrot |

2835s | than you know beat you in submission for |
2838s | uh not |
2842s | upgrading uh maybe folks can have a |
2844s | Leisure item that provides a better |
2845s | Passage experience when they're relaxing |

2853s | um it's an interesting idea |
2857s | um needs to be reasons to upgrade here/ |
2860s | food that isn't just |
2862s | XP um it |
2867s | um it it's it's a long list of things |

2872s | just difficult to solve subjects because |
2875s | um it it's kind of we had a we had a |
2877s | discussion on this um internally here |
2880s | the other day with um why like why don't |
2884s | we see any super hardcore mods for Eco |
2889s | like what you know where if you compare |
2891s | to like Minecraft and whatnot um you can |
2894s | see all these like super super |
2895s | ridiculously difficultly increasing ones |
2898s | um and we can also see that oh yeah |
2902s | binary I the the the whole mining thing |
2905s | uh or or a finding |
2907s | thing um no but like you know something |
2911s | that would introduce like more health |
2913s | related things like penalized movement |
2916s | speed or um crazy amount of like food |
2921s | things that is kind of necessary to |
2923s | survive or you'll you'll you know quote |
2925s | unquote die |
2928s | um and I kind of had a hard time to |
2933s | put kind of finger on why in |
2937s | general |
2940s | and without kind of going too much into |
2942s | depth it for from from what I see and |
2946s | you know from from what I can tell is a |
2949s | lot of times the servers generally |
2952s | die |
2954s | for on on basically three |
2957s | principles and that's the the the |
2960s | primary one is they have a goal set for |
2962s | them when they join a server and this is |
2964s | you know not counting new play players |
2966s | or people that don't know what they get |
2969s | into when they jump into like a super |
2970s | moded server or uh whatever else is is |
2974s | and so on so |
2976s | forth um it's they set a goal for |
2980s | themselves of for things like I want to |
2982s | be the first mechanic or I want to be |
2984s | the best guy doing all the furniture and |
2986s | and housing for tailoring and |
2989s | carpentry um and and so on or I want to |
2992s | be the the person that just researches |
2995s | everything |
2998s | um yeah we we had we had a big |
3000s | discussion on it and and i' i' ra I'd |
3003s | rather have |
3004s | rewards over just like outright |
3007s | punishments um and it's kind of bringing |
3010s | into it |
3012s | so when a player is feeling like I can't |
3017s | achieve my goal they would rather opt to |
3020s | quit and hop in on a new server and |
3022s | restart and try the same goal |
3024s | again because then you know new server |
3027s | new population other area I might have a |
3030s | better chance of doing what I wanted to |
3031s | do |
3033s | here and that kind of makes it into like |
3036s | the mid game point |
3038s | being kind of a a very big Tipping Point |
3042s | for a lot of |
3044s | people |
3047s | um and yeah it it's PE people people do |
3051s | focus on being first or the only guy in |
3053s | this profession and so on um |
3058s | which is really hard like if you have 15 |
3059s | people joining server and they all want |
3061s | to be the best Carpenter then you know |
3063s | the the 14 people are going to get |
3066s | disappointed |
3067s | um and it's it's it's very difficult to |
3071s | do any kind of balancing or like |
3074s | artificial implementation of features |
3076s | from our |
3077s | side to counter this in a lot of |
3081s | ways because and and as leru is is |
3085s | pointing out like because the first |
3086s | person gets all the profit um it's it's |
3091s | very partially |
3093s | true um yeah you have a 93.3% chance of |
3097s | being |
3098s | disappointed um and I mean I've I've |
3102s | seen this on on Firs hand what I've been |
3104s | playing um but I've also seen a lot of |
3107s | cases where the first guy who does that |
3109s | and the top dog that does it gets |
3112s | absolutely burnt out because everyone is |
3114s | on his case of I need this I need that I |
3117s | need so and so and then he feels like he |
3121s | has to play for like 16 hours straight |
3123s | just to help everyone get supplied with |
3127s | everything and then they get burned out |
3129s | and they leave and suddenly you don't |
3131s | have that mechanic |
3134s | anymore um or you know that carer just |
3137s | ups and vanishes because they just get |
3138s | sick of people you know constantly |
3141s | hammering them about things and then |
3143s | they disappear and then you're half the |
3145s | ser dies off because suddenly no one can |
3147s | get mechanical goods and no one has a |
3150s | specialty point to spare to pick |
3158s | mechanics which is which is kind of |
3160s | another subject of why we're doing some |
3163s | of these breakups in professions |
3165s | and um why for me in in |
3169s | specifically it's important to make sure |
3171s | that all professions have these |
3173s | recyclable items and these constant |
3175s | consumption items items at least in some |
3178s | manner um and with breaking this up we |
3183s | can also do new cool things with the |
3185s | perks which has been a big thing that |
3189s | overall um kind of neglected for a |
3192s | longer period of |
3194s | time um once I'm done with this with |
3197s | with the black SMI thing um I'll be |
3200s | taking a look at the the the |
3202s | malfunctioning perk at the moment which |
3204s | I believe is po shot |
3206s | someone was saying that it it kind of |
3208s | kind of doesn't really work |
3211s | properly um and some of the um some of |
3216s | the ones that are kind of lacking |
3217s | interest uh which is uh the the logging |
3222s | perk |
3224s | obviously um kind of thinks that just |
3227s | wraps this up a little bit more um but |
3230s | with with a more specialized part for |
3236s | um the whole workflow thing is something |
3239s | that I I generally |
3241s | dislike um so when the perks got made |
3245s | initially uh which was prior to me |
3249s | joining um as the whole skill system was |
3251s | done in like |
3252s | 8.0 |
3254s | um there was plans for a lot of more |
3257s | Dynamic things but due to time |
3260s | constraints and kind of De |
3262s | prioritization a lot of the talents just |
3264s | got copy pasted per which is why you |
3267s | have uh you the whole workflow perks for |
3270s | level three unlike everything um even |
3273s | stuff that didn't even have |
3274s | craftables so that's parts that I'm |
3276s | looking at in particular now and for |
3279s | things like |
3280s | smelting um we can do we can do stuff |
3283s | like specializing |
3285s | in |
3287s | um instead of you doing like everything |
3290s | is upgraded X or |
3293s | z um |
3296s | and that's something that I believe |
3298s | binary I I talked to |
3301s | um I talked to some of the guys in in |
3303s | the moding side about it and like for |
3306s | smelting for example we can have the |
3308s | level three perk be either improve your |
3311s | imp imp um kind of stumbling on words |
3314s | here um improve your efficiency with |
3317s | smelting iron bars versus improving your |
3320s | efficiency with smelting golden copper |
3324s | bars |
3328s | just as a a a a kind of breaking things |
3331s | up in between like in the path of the |
3334s | professions themselves so even two |
3336s | smelters could have vastly different |
3338s | prices which would it wouldn't fix the |
3342s | general issue of oh but you know one |
3345s | smelter can can supply the whole world |
3348s | or one mechanic can can do everything um |
3352s | but it does look at |
3357s | General Pathways |
3360s | for splitting the professions in |
3362s | general um yeah armor I I know you hate |
3366s | any kind of benefit |
3369s | um and there's also some interesting |
3372s | parties in terms |
3374s | of doing actual recipe unlocks that way |
3377s | as well so you would have um I I I |
3381s | floated out some images um a while ago |
3383s | with things like um B for example where |
3386s | you could have a sub specialty of like |
3389s | pastry |
3390s | versus like sustenance food or like meat |
3393s | pies or or whatnot um so you could have |
3397s | actual hard set limitations in some of |
3400s | these things which would directly make |
3403s | you know two Cooks could have completely |
3405s | different |
3406s | recipes |
3409s | um which would then lead to you know you |
3413s | might need to have two or three or four |
3415s | chefs just to have access to all the |
3417s | recipes there is um which would start to |
3421s | mitigate some of the damage the whole |
3424s | kind of over over com like over |
3428s | production to one end um is |
3433s | causing uh yeah the shot's going |
3435s | absolutely nuts I love it uh it's it's |
3438s | super |
3440s | active uh would would certainly help in |
3442s | creating settlement character like |
3444s | certain biome Town good specialize into |
3445s | being main export main exporter of |
3447s | certain Goods |
3451s | um um why did you guys get rid of the |
3454s | original skill point system with the |
3455s | branching skill trees um there was a a |
3460s | few um |
3463s | it the problem with a large part of it |
3466s | is because it tied in it basically did |
3471s | what the Character level up is doing |
3474s | together with the special level up is |
3476s | doing um but at a set time |
3480s | rate and actually I I I went over and |
3483s | back and and rewatched some of the dev |
3485s | blogs um for the specialty stuff and and |
3488s | kind of the level UPS um as well as kind |
3491s | of reading through the the um the design |
3493s | docs and everything we had back in from |
3495s | that when I was looking at the |
3497s | perks um and the general problem we had |
3501s | there and and I I was completely guilty |
3504s | of this as well was basically you you |
3507s | you earned skill points the same way you |
3509s | do specialty stars |
3511s | now which |
3513s | means this also transferred into the |
3517s | level up you were in that |
3521s | profession um which resulted in you you |
3524s | hopped in on the game you ate the best |
3527s | food you could possibly do and then you |
3528s | logged off and then you just logged in |
3531s | 10 minutes every day just ate food |
3533s | because you didn't want to play the game |
3537s | until you had maxed out your efficiency |
3539s | of that profession which was just by |
3542s | inputting skill |
3544s | points so that was split into the |
3546s | specialty Stars which allows you to |
3549s | unlock the profession and then you |
3551s | actually have to do stuff in the |
3553s | profession as a separate experience |
3562s | game that's kind of where this the start |
3564s | of |
3566s | um why it was spit between like |
3569s | specialty Stars versus um the whole |
3572s | thing and it was it's it's in kind of a |
3575s | rudimentary form just because it felt |
3578s | like we needed to keep a simplicit part |
3581s | of it so we didn't go super crazy in |
3584s | terms of complexity |
3587s | because while Eco does really well in |
3589s | role playing it's not a direct like RPG |
3593s | kind of thing so |
3595s | um keeping sort of a |
3598s | a depth enough into it without going all |
3601s | too crazy into |
3605s | it |
3616s | uh chat is going absolutely crazy I need |
3618s | to I need to uh just read through this |

3651s | would have dirty fuels versus cleaner |
3654s | fuels and so on so so directly using a |
3657s | more expensive fuel like biodiesel |
3658s | compared to petroleum or gasoline um |
3663s | would have a direct effect of that uh |
3665s | but it's stuff |
3667s | that's still kind of |
3670s | in on Sideburn at the |
3673s | moment um will the smithing profession |
3676s | add any new item SL mechanics or be |
3678s | comprised of just things taking out of |
3680s | smelting um yeah so there are there are |
3683s | a few new intermediaries that |
3686s | I'm looking at how and where they'd fit |
3690s | in um part of it is as was discussed |
3693s | earlier with the whole like repairs like |
3694s | changing out if we'd want to do like |
3696s | repair instead of just having like iron |
3698s | bars or steel bars and so on as repair |
3702s | consumables |
3704s | um do an actual export capacity for like |
3707s | wet stones and repair kits of different |
3710s | types that would allow any user to be |
3712s | able to repair everything on the go |
3714s | instead of having having to kind of |
3715s | resell sell resell things constantly to |
3718s | be able to do |
3720s | that um so there's a couple of things |
3722s | that are still being experimented on and |
3724s | not |
3725s | set |
3729s | um but on on the subject of an an |
3735s | um yeah I I I like the wetstone mod it's |
3738s | it's |
3739s | neat um and there are there are there |
3742s | are a vast majority of mods in there |
3744s | that is just |
3745s | just crazily good in a lot of ways uh |
3750s | either by improving quality of life or |
3751s | just like hey I've added all of this |
3754s | that really fleshed out this specific |
3755s | profession um that's like really cool |
3759s | stuff |
3762s | um so there's there's kind of two things |
3767s | that um I guess three things left I |
3771s | think um as armored was pointing out in |
3775s | in way way earlier on in in this whole |
3778s | thing |

3835s | wanted to have an a version of it for |
3838s | infused |
3840s | oil um as kind of like a fish oil |
3844s | thing um as like you know you can of |
3847s | have as cooking condiment um in in |
3850s | more southeast Asia |
3855s | areas um fish traps are ridiculous they |
3858s | need to be baited with vegetables or |
3859s | something I don't know have you have you |
3861s | seen crab pots in real |
3863s | life granted you know they they can |
3866s | chuck in like a piece of a piece of fish |

3870s | then then they just they just self fuel |
3873s | themselves those those freaking Critters |

3885s | yeah the the fish traps and and crap |

3902s | from um the Nets so you can have that |
3905s | repair cost component to it it also has |
3908s | fuel cost to driving and so on so |

3920s | what's likely to happen is that the |
3921s | traps might get tuned down significantly |

3930s | the point where you can feed half the |
3933s | server with just dropping out like 50 of |

3945s | like it it's it's it's likely going to |
3947s | happen at some point um how quickly that |
3950s | might happen depends a little bit on how |
3954s | crazy things gets with uh some of the |

4440s | tool used for painting these things you |
4443s | select the color that you're painting |

4450s | like the hammer in terms of whatnot |
4453s | you'd have interaction for removing |
4455s | paint adding paint |
4457s | um as well as using different types of |
4459s | fill types to be able to quickly paint |

4465s | um so this means that you are still |
4467s | going to be using your basic Hune block |
4471s | to build stuff and then you can |
4473s | alternatively change the color of these |
4475s | blocks by just painting on them in the |
4480s | game as for the World objects it's still |

4489s | particular interaction to happen because |
4491s | it is going to be so this this is is |
4493s | going to be like Vehicles it's going to |

4550s | um but some of these functionalities as |
4552s | to how the actual interaction happens is |
4554s | still kind of on the drawing board of |
4557s | what we need however Jordan has like |
4559s | most of the back end Tech is done and |
4560s | sorted so that yeah it |
4570s | works um I will say my one concern with |
4573s | paint is players favoring one kind of |
4575s | building block because it looks the best |
4578s | painted um it is very true it is quite |
4581s | possible that people were like o I'm |
4583s | never doing Lumber again because I want |
4585s | my fancy black |
4586s | bricks um that is absolutely true but |
4590s | that is also something that we kind of |
4592s | have to ignore being a potential problem |
4594s | because otherwise you know with a Miss |
4597s | of adding something that is essentially |
4600s | just creative |

4604s | um in the favor of maybe someone gets a |
4610s | skewed interest in only wanting to build |
4612s | with one type which would would then |
4613s | only leave business for the pottery guy |

4628s | now in in real life like they'll they'll |
4630s | do obnoxiously green colored buildings |

4644s | where like the actual government will |
4646s | get involved in you can't paint your |
4648s | house this color because it's |
4650s | in uh you know a cultural zone for older |

4664s | things uh alpen glow for for any of the |
4668s | kind of modding interaction for this |
4669s | mechanic just drop them to uh drop them |

4683s | to think we have it was 40 colors at the |

4698s | mapped uh make a building here only have |
4700s | full valys if they mix building |
4702s | materials yeah but that that's also kind |

4704s | artificial requirement with suddenly |
4707s | forcing people to have to have floor in |
4710s | Lumber and then you know you if I want |
4713s | to have all my walls in bricks I |
4716s | shouldn't need to place you know 20 |
4718s | blocks in a cube in the middle of the |
4719s | room just so I can have |
4722s | that brick |
4731s | walls um but yes you know there there's |
4734s | there's all kinds of ideas kind of |
4735s | floating around but it |
4738s | is the entire building idea is |
4740s | artificial that is very true it is very |

4745s | um no but it's it's kind of within the |
4748s | curfew of the general Aesthetics of the |
4751s | game um and trying to add as much |
4755s | creativity to |
4757s | it um without hampering or being |
4761s | directly involving progression and so on |

4767s | on the whole camera thing while the |
4769s | camera has paintings and and all or the |
4771s | the eel and camera has paintings and |
4773s | things that's kind of coming out of it |

4865s | of get rid of uh malicious things but |
4870s | also go hey you know we're we're we're |
4873s | all voting on this to be used instead um |
4876s | you can't be paying people extra for for |
4879s | XYZ um so there's a few things in there |

4885s | um getting some touch-ups as well as |
4887s | some new settings and so |
4892s | on uh we definitely need more Vehicles |
4895s | like a steam front loader and logging |

4907s | tier mechanics era but they're not ready |

5124s | paint on the blocks in the |

5397s | tripod or if it's the um if it's paint |
5400s | and then once they've done that they can |
5402s | just run it through a printing press and |
5404s | just make infinite copies which is paper |
5406s | which is really cheap really ridiculous |

5413s | so one of the things that I was looking |
5416s | at doing is |
5419s | introducing um ink as a separate |
5421s | resource |
5423s | uh or you know |
5424s | ingredient so it would be something that |
5427s | is manufactured by paper |

5432s | then together with um so ink would be a |
5435s | mixture of probably oil and um |
5442s | charcoal combined with paper to create a |
5446s | paper supplies or printing supplies item |
5451s | and that would be your consumable item |
5452s | for the printing |
5458s | press um to kind of offset |
5462s | that we don't |
5464s | want a cheaper material or a cheaper way |
5467s | to get a copy of the same thing instead |
5470s | of just use more paints versus just |
5474s | ridiculously cheap paper and and at the |
5476s | same time we also didn't want to just |
5478s | make the cost have like ooh print a |
5481s | piece of uh |
5483s | um print a piece of um a picture and |
5486s | then suddenly you need you know 400 |
5489s | units of paper to do |
5495s | that uh question why do fiddle heads |
5498s | gets four times as heavy when you Shard |
5500s | them um probably need to take a look at |
5501s | the weight ratios between Shard versus |

5506s | because I kind of went through a lot of |
5509s | the the the weights for the raw products |
