Issues with Quest 3 -- any help is appreciated

I've got more than 1100 hours in the game, but today I tried playing ED for the first time with my Quest 3 headset. I am able to launch ED both through Steam (selecting "Launch Elite Dangerous in Steam VR Mode) and launching from the Quest 3 itself. In both cases, the game will launch, and I'll get to the main menu ("Continue," "Social," "Game Extras," "Options," etc.). I'm in the hangar in front of my ship, but the game will not accept any control inputs. My HOTAS, which I used in the game yesterday (non-VR) and for the past two years, will not make any selections. On a whim, I even tried using my XBox One controller which is also paired to my PC. Nothing. Also no result with keyboard/mouse. Does anyone have an idea of what could be happening?
