Why using time and energy to implement mechanics experienced in other similar games? Don’t the developers of this game have any original ideas for their game they can bring to live instead?
Beside from that, there is so many other areas where the time could have been spent better.
Look at the water for example. Even Minecraft have water that floats. This game just has a static plane as water. Try to dig at the shore … it looks like s…!
This “release” or forced update couldn’t have come at worse time – it just spoiled the Christmas holiday gaming joy in Empyrion for me and my kids. Guess I might as well go cancel my private family server at g-portal, ‘cause there is no way I’m starting all over again. I’m the kind of gamer that continue to build and expand and it seems that is not an option right now. If I wanted to start all over time and time again, I would go play another game.
Empyrion was simple fun building, raiding and shooting with a survival element, now it something more complex … something different and not what I came for.
One might want to ask oneself, as a game developer: Why does people play our game and not one of the countless other that looks alike? Maybe … just maybe, we have something they like better…
You know what? Sometimes “simple” is better than complex and complicated.
