• In the Empyrion root folder which can be found by right clicking on Empyrion in your steam library > Properties > Local files > Browse local files look for 'Empyrion.props' & open it with notepad++ or notepad & remove the # & return space before the parameter for example:
  
  # DisableTextureStreaming = true
  
  DisableTextureStreaming = true
  
  then save the file & try starting the game again.
  
  If there is still a crash at this point supply the logs folder that is generated for the build you are on found by right clicking on Empyrion in your steam library > Properties > Local files > Browse local files > Logs
  then make a copy of the folder which is named by the build number f.ex 2763 (which is the current public build as of typing this) & compress it.
  
  Then look for the crashes folder from any of these locations & also create a copy of the folder:
  
  C:\Users\\AppData\LocalLow\Eleon Game Studios\Empyrion - Galactic Survival
  
  C:\Users\\AppData\Local\Temp\Eleon Game Studios\Empyrion - Galactic Survival\Crashes
  
  & also export the registry entry & send us the .reg file. Go here in the windows registry editor:
  Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Eleon Game Studios
  & then right-click on "Empyrion - Galactic Survival" and select Export, save to desktop.
  
  Attach the client log, crashes folder & .reg file to a email & send them to [email protected] & give a brief description for your issue.

  Some questions we would ask you first concerning the game not starting on your system:
  When you start the game...
  
• is there a game window with the "Loading..." text visible at least for a few seconds?
  
• is after a few seconds the version number (e.g. "Alpha 10.0.2") displayed in the top left corner?
  
• did you try to directly start "Empyrion.exe" or "EmpyrionLauncher.exe" from the folder where Steam installed it?
  
• you can find the location in Steam: right-click on "Empyrion - Galactic Survival" and select "Properties", then select "Local files" tab and click "Browse Local Files..."
  
• in the opened Explorer window go to the "Client" folder and start the exe or try with the "EmpyrionLauncher.exe" in the Empyrion root folder
  
  To better understand what exactly happens it would be good to observe the following:
  
• open Windows Task Manager (CTRL-SHIFT-ESC) (or better the "ProcessExplorer" if you use that tool)
  
• start directly Empyrion.exe or try "EmpyrionLauncher.exe" from the folder where Steam installed it
  
• immediately watch Task Manager window: there should an "Empyrion.exe (2)" be added
  
• now: what happens?
  
• does the Empyrion.exe quickly disappear from Task Manager?
  
• in that case it would be helpful to do another start but expand the "Empyrion.exe (2)" as soon as it appears to see what processes are listed inside. It should only be "Empyrion.exe" and "UnityCrashHandler64.exe"
  
• is for a very short time a "WerFault.exe" visible?
  
• or does "Empyrion.exe" stay in the Task Manager and needs to be killed by "End Task"?
  
  A video documenting the above being tried may also help if you can record this & upload it to youtube, google drive or https://streamable.com/.
  To record I would recommend using obs https://obsproject.com/ with a 'Scene' setup to 'Display capture' as it's 'Source'.

  If any client_log files are generated for the build you are on after trying to start
  Steam\steamapps\common\Empyrion - Galactic Survival\Logs
  
  or a crash folder is generated in this location:
  C:\Users\\AppData\LocalLow\Eleon Game Studios\Empyrion - Galactic Survival
  
  Please attach them to a email & send them to [email protected] & give a description of the issue you are experiencing.

I followed every single step. Game launches fine (altho it seems like its crashing), but when I select new game and go into the loadingscreen, after loading the planets to 100% the screen goes black. 10 seconds later it crashes to the desktop, closing down steam completely and 50% of the time forcing me to restart my computer as well, because everything is messed up.
