[2019] What is a Co-Op game and what do you mean by local?

Yes it's may a bit confusing since steam definition of local coop means same game same screen same computer,
But our "local" coop is indeed a methode to just start a game in coop mode so other players can join your game via lan or internet ip.

and no coop is not pve only if you travel for exampel to ningues wich is a pvp playfield by
default you can fight each other

Correct technicaly is nearly like a dedicated server but you don't have to care about portforwarding and configuring complicated .yaml files you can start it just by click coop instead of start in the game menus.

quite unsure about this since i never tryed, theoretical you can just copy over the save from your dedi saves folder to the clients save folder and load this up, but since i never tryed this i suggest backup everything and try - but on your own risk .
anyway since your dedicated is running (well?) why changing - never change a winning horse or so :)

Yes. But you have to quit and save your singleplayer game and load it up as coop wich is quite easy to do now, then you can right click your friend and invite him to your game.

to do so :

save & quit your current singleplayer game
resume game
choose your previously saved singleplayer game
click the small arrow on load game - 'local coop' should appear
click 'local coop'
a windows popup appears - allow it (yes)
wait until everything is loaded up and you have joined your game
now hit shift+tabulator
click on 'all friends"
in the list of your friends right click the friend you like to invite to your game and choose invite to game

this step are also useable with a new created game , but there you have the possibility to configure also some rules - the usual ones like scenario difficulty ect + password and some coop rules.
