s | welcome back to our new series beyond |
---|---|
s | the Shroud names suggested by our |
s | community members Brimstone 5931 and |
s | jandes it's a series of videos where we |
s | review some of the coolest builds our |
s | players have made and talk to them and |
s | find out a little more about their |
s | process and |
s | [Music] |
s | Inspirations this build is a solo |
s | project led by ganus and is inspired by |
s | ancient cities such as Rome and Babylon |
s | let's hear from glanes how this project |
s | came to life |
s | and again just so you know the voice |
s | you're going to be hearing that's not |
s | galanes which is going to be reading his |
s | answers so can you tell us what inspired |
s | you to make those incredible |
s | builds the current base is a mix of real |
s | and fictional architecture after the |
s | Roman theme of the first build I spent |
s | some time thinking about what the new |
s | base could be in the end I decided on |
s | the theme Babylon and the starting point |
s | was the famous Hanging Gardens just an |
s | interpretation of course for the |
s | surrounding buildings I looked at real |
s | Rec constructions of Assyrian |
s | architecture transferred them as best I |
s | could the Interiors are of course |
s | completely fictitious okay how did you |
s | get started do you make a plan or just |
s | go with the vibe how did this project |
s | evolve over time I now have an almost |
s | compulsive system for building first I |
s | measure the floor plan and make sure |
s | that the walls always have an even |
s | number of blocks also extremely |
s | important I always plan with at least |
s | double thick walls or even better triple |
s | thick walls as I often let the furniture |
s | sit inside of them with multiple layers |
s | nothing will protrude through the back |
s | walls |
s | later I then work my way forward step by |
s | step there's always a rough plan for the |
s | entire base but many things are decided |
s | spontaneously at this point I have to |
s | mention my friends beer free and AI were |
s | both always great sources of |
s | inspiration what are the coolest |
s | features of the build any secrets or |
s | unique elements you would like to |
s | highlight there's actually something |
s | I've been avoiding for a long time the |
s | main building the Hanging Gardens is |
s | built around a central column of white |
s | light blocks at its Center this column |
s | extends across all floors however to |
s | reach the source I.E the lowest floor |
s | you have to go through a labyrinth with |
s | lots of traps and obstacle courses apart |
s | from that I'm currently adding little |
s | stories and the newly added mannequins |
s | are perfect for that that's my current |
s | favorite activity because it's something |
s | brand new to the game there are also |
s | some hidden Easter eggs and surprises so |
s | you have to look carefully what is |
s | really important to me is that I always |
s | try to keep everything surprising as if |
s | you were constantly stumbling into new |
s | Little Worlds in each room what |
s | challenges did you encounter during the |
s | building process the biggest challenge |
s | is to turn the images in your head into |
s | something that everyone can see but I |
s | think we're now already doing this very |
s | well this is the second base we've built |
s | and I fortunately already overcome most |
s | of the sources of error was this a solo |
s | process or did you get help or feedback |
s | yep I actually created everything on my |
s | own sometimes that's a bit of a shame it |
s | would definitely be great to do |
s | something together with one or more |
s | people but I'm a bit particular when it |
s | comes to design so I think it's fine the |
s | way it is and do you plan to modify or |
s | add anything to the |
s | buildings as soon as new content and |
s | therefore new decorative items are added |
s | I will definitely find a way to |
s | integrate them but even with new updates |
s | I leave many rooms as they originally |
s | built both for variety and so you can |
s | see a bit of development do you have any |
s | other ined projects currently in the |
s | works or in the planning phase yeah I |
s | already have a very concrete idea but it |
s | depends on whether and when the new snow |
s | biome appears for the current base I |
s | definitely want to create a connection |
s | to the sun temple in the South and |
s | rebuild the bridge and the giant Gateway |
s | stylistically it fits well with the base |
s | and this would be the first time that I |
s | rebuild and expand something that |
s | already exists in the game wow given how |
s | much work you have put into this project |
s | are there any tips for anyone interested |
s | in Walking In Your footsteps to be |
s | honest I avoid giving advice every |
s | player plays differently and I think |
s | that's a good thing but I can give one |
s | little tip just do it and don't get |
s | discouraged eventually everything will |
s | come naturally and finally |
s | how can we visit I don't have a server |
s | but when I'm online you can visit me at |
s | any time there's no password for helpers |
s | and I'm always happy to have visitor |
s | that's it for the second build showcase |
s | we hope you liked it and remember we |
s | want to hear your feedback and |
s | suggestions for the next video for now |
s | take care and we will see you in the |
s | next one |
