Context:
Since the build competition announcement, I worked tirelessly on this thing to get it in an acceptable place before the deadline. I uploaded my video tour last night, thankfully. I struggled to get a good screenshot, however. Since there's no free cam mode in the game, my character's head was always in the way.
Remembering a post on Reddit about a free cam screenshot-focused cheat table, I looked into that this morning. It seemed to work well enough, allowing me to grab these few screenshots (though so much more isn't captured....) However, something about the sun's orientation was starting to bug out. So I turned it off and logged out.
When I logged back in, I was met with a "your data is corrupted" prompt. In a panic, I logged in but thankfully found everything seemed fine. I logged back out and back in one more time some time later and was greeted with the same prompt. Clicked through, loaded game and...I was back at spawn. Ut oh... Opened my map and everything was present except my flame altars. UT OH. No flame altars, no builds, right?
Right...
I took what I thought was a backup of the 2 world files last night JUST IN CASE, but copy/pasting those in doesn't seem to do anything.
Sorry for the vent. I'm just so demoralized at the moment. I feel like a shell. I know it'll pass and it's just a silly game, but it feels awful to lose something that I poured myself into for 150 hours.
Any technical advice would be immensely appreciated. I haven't lost all hope, but it's looking pretty gloom at the moment. .
Anyway, hope you at least enjoy the screenshots. I'd really appreciate it if you could give the video a look and some love as well. Building for the community in Valheim and now here is what gave me the drive in the first place. Thanks a lot <3
