Friends, we decided to ask Nikita Buyanov a few questions. Material was collected from emissaries and players. We present to your attention a small mini-interview.
Question: How did the idea to create the movie series “RAID” come to the studio? Can you tell us more about the beginning of the production of the series: the origin of the idea, how Anton Rosenberg came into the project, how the production went, whether Nikita was on the set, is the series “RAID” related to the future plot?
Answer: We made the very first trailer and then the idea arose to film the adventures of these two comrades in the form of a series, but in full CGi. Then, in fact, all this “mutated” into the movie series. The plot of the series repeats the plot of the game as a whole. After the release of all the series, a film about the film will be released in which some interesting moments of the filming process will be revealed.

Question: What is the next perk (skill) you will introduce into the game?
Answer: There will be new skills related to the Hideout. Now the main work on skills associated with their rewriting and rebalancing.

Question: Will the “sphere” around the player be removed, inside which objects are loaded better, and worse outside, or not loaded at all. Sometimes this creates real discomfort, even with good graphics settings.
Answer: As I understand it, I mean the system of lodging (LOD) of objects. This is in any modern game, another thing is that it may not be very well tuned, and what we are doing is quality tuning of lod.

Question: In the list of exits, in the raid, some exits are marked “red”. Such exfils can not be used in the raid? Or has this exfil has already been used by other players? How does this system work? There are many questions about this.
Answer: Here we need specific examples of such situations. Sometimes a red exit means that the exit has already been used, for example, an exit with a car or an elevator.

Question: How is cooperation with the Unity development team going and what benefits have both development teams already received?
Answer: This is a regular consultation and code review. A lot of things come up in terms of productivity and its improvement. The Unity team often makes us some special editor builds to solve certain problems.

Question: Will you add more “anti-night” or “anti-thermal vision” methods, such as special smoke grenades or anti-thermal suits?
Answer: This can easily be implemented.

Question: Is there a “final vision” of how each location will look and how big they will be at the end, or is it a continuous process based on user feedback?
Answer: There is a final vision. Gradual development and expansion of maps until they all become one big location in a separate game mode. User feedback also affects this process.

Question: Healing teammates, unconsciousness, dragging bodies ... Is there some kind of rough plan, or priority for this mechanic?
Answer: Perhaps something similar will be done, but not in the near future.

Question: Language localizations, some localizations are already ready for a long time, but they are always updated (implemented?) For more than a year. The community periodically asks about this. Why do some localizations take so long to add to the game?
Answer: Many factors affect localization - updating under HUD, checking the correctness of texts - all this takes time and resources.

Question: Is there a plan for the DLC? I am wondering which DLCs will be added to Tarkov. New maps (e.g. BSG Office map lol) or other interesting things?
Answer: DLC will combine complex additions - new locations, items, merchants, features, etc.

Question: What games influenced the development of Tarkov?
Answer: EVE Online, Deus EX, S.T.A.L.K.E.R., DayZ. There are a lot of games, books and films.

Question: What features will you work with the greatest interest in the future?
Answer: We all work with interest. Of particular interest are features that no one has ever implemented in games.

Question: Is there an expected time to enter the Emissar in-game tag?
Answer: Coming soon.

Question: Are there any thoughts about privileged options, for example: if a player reaches level 40, he can count on keeping the caches / skills and progress in quests? Or for example, will be able to change the faction?
Answer: This description is more suitable for some kind of prestige system. Perhaps something like this will happen in the future if you get to the maximum level and reset your account.

Question: Is there a time frame for the Arena mode and maps that will be added for more complete gameplay and clan wars?
Answer: There is no information about this yet.

Question: Any more detailed news about directional sound enhancement. When will we see it in the game?
Answer: Sound enhancement is to be expected with Steam Audio.

Question: Are you planning to have a mobile application for managing Hideout, inventory, etc.?
Answer: A mobile companion is planned.

Question: There are buttons on the bottom panel in the "Menu": merchants \ flea market \ stash- will there be a Hideout button through which it would be possible to quickly find out what items are needed / already available in order to level the Hideout.
Answer: The game interface is not final, various improvements will be required.

Question: Do you plan to add various types of quests, for example: to guard the location for a certain period of time or to accompany the NPC that follows only the player?
Answer: Various new quests and random events are planned at locations.

Question: Do you plan to reduce desynchronization on European servers?
Answer: The question is strange, as if European servers are special. They are the same as everywhere else in the world.

Question: Is "Free Roam" still in effect? What will he look like? Is this comparable to other Open-World games?
Answer: Free Roam is planned. How it will be - we will all see later.

Question: What do we expect from the karma system? What will the fines look like?
Answer: Karma will restrain some players in raids and make them think about the consequences. Karma will also give some bonuses for good actions, and penalties for bad karma. For example: bad reputation with merchants.

Question: Will it be possible to go offline raiding with a friend or a novice to show him locations, exits, loot places, etc.?
Answer: Offline with friends is in our plans. To do this, most likely there will be separate dedicated servers without gaining experience points (XP).

Question: Will there be random assignments for Scavs and PMCs?
Answer: Random tasks are scheduled.

Question: Is there anything currently stopping you from transferring loot from hand to hand (instead of throwing loot in the raid).

Answer: We thought about additional entertainment in the Hideout. Perhaps something similar will be made, but then again, when there will be no more important tasks.

Question: When will more information be introduced about which weapon the player was killed in the raid?
Answer: With the quick treatment system, some additional information will appear after the raid.

Question: What will the “final” beginner's manual look like? Will it be more than just a Guide?
Answer: Basic training is planned. For new players, the primary location will also be implemented. But we do not want to explain to players all aspects and nuances of the game. The player himself must gain experience and basic knowledge in combat for PMCs and Scavs. Playing as a scav is also a great way to explore the world of Tarkov.

Question: There are more and more hardcore players, what do you think of these players and the addition of special content or features for them?
Answer: It depends on what is meant by “hardcore” players. The game itself is intended for a hardcore player. And it will develop further on the basis of this aspect.

Question: The Austrian player community asks for the STG-77 (Austrian military weapon, also known as Steyr AUG). Will it ever be added to the game?
Answer: Steyr AUG is planned.

Question: Have you ever thought about balancing players in a raid by level, skill, group?
Answer: We have already talked about this. There will be no division by level, skill, or group in any form.

Question: BattlEye Launcher sometimes causes extremely high CPU utilization when starting a game and it takes several minutes (even on good PC configurations) to launch EscapeFromTarkov.exe. This question is already known and have been worked on? I'm not sure, but I think there is a connection between BattlEye and the Windows Antimalware Service Executable, which is a hindrance to BattlEye and Escape From Tarkov.
Answer: We constantly communicate and interact with the developers of BattlEye, various improvements are introduced into the anti-cheat constantly. Additionally, such questions can and should be clarified with BattlEye technical support.
