So recently I bought a new SSD, so I decided it would be best to put EFT on it, as I had it on HDD up to that point. I fully uninstalled the game and the BSG launcher from HDD and then installed it on SSD.

Since I did that, the game became so laggy and slow that I cannot even load into a game. Whenever I start loading into a game, my HDD usage goes up to 100% and starts lagging out the game to the point that I get disconnected from the server as soon as I load into a game (lost a lot of gear already that way). There is no trace of the game on my HDD, so it baffles me why this would happen.

Screenshot (X drive is HDD, Z and C drives are SSD. Tarkov is on Z drive): https://i.imgur.com/SBV7UpS.png

The game only starts lagging out when loading into a game. It works with no issues when browsing inventory or market. If I manage to get into a game (which is like 50% of the time) it tends to lag a lot when scoping in and out or when opening inventory. Basically, it lags when the HDD is being used, but I cannot figure out why it's being used.

What I tried so far:

  • Re-installing the game again
  • Removing every trace of Tarkov I could find from the HDD
  • Clearing cache
  • Verifying game files

Please let me know what I can do to solve this issue because I couldn't find any forum posts about anything like this and I cannot play the game until I fix it.

What would you recommend then? Should I have no pagefile at all?

The swap file is required anyway. And if it's installed on a faster disk, it's better.

Objectively speaking, the resource of modern SSDs allows you to use a swap file on them, because you will buy a new SSD faster than any problems with the used one will appear.
