Seriously, just split the game into two modes. One where the casuals can keep collecting stuff and level and have their bars fill up.
And then another mode for those people who bought the game 3 years ago and believed in the "hardcore" game.
Because if you tweak sniper AI so the most r------ded and stupid players never take a hit, then it will be 10 out of 10 settings too easy for hardcore players.
A "sniper" AI should be so dangerous you should be too scared to peek out of a piece of cover at 500 meters distance from him.
The entire game appears to be designed now by casuals walking through the map without any sense of tactics or cover. And then they take a hit and act offended. Then they take that story to reddit, blow it up with fake exagerrations and gone is another feature or the difficulty is lowered.
At least the devs managed to resist toning down the AI for a full 3 weeks, unlike the usual 2 days after a patch. One difficulty for all players is not going to work. It should work, if BSG would simply ignore the casuals and let them adjust to the difficulty.
We are stuck in a perpetual inflation of all good features of the game. Economy, difficulty, medical system, weapon handing, characters. All of it gets casualized. We need a gamemode that does not adapt to the player. Where it is "do or die". (Or as they say in russia: "die but do" I believe?)
