TL;DR Items get a FiR tag when they are looted from corpses not in your party.

I want more shooting. I propose a change to the new FiR mechanics which I think will still discourage RMT and hatchet runs, while also increasing the incentive to PVP.

Problem: The new found in raid mechanics did a great job of reducing the number of people doing hatchet runs and stuffing valuable loot in their secure containers. It also combats RMT, which is great. Unfortunately, the changes also mean that it not longer makes much financial sense to take fight – since most everything you would loot from winning a fight cannot be sold on the flea market.

How we Fix it: I think BSG should consider making it so any item you loot from a dead body that was not part of your party gets a FiR tag. This would mean that killing enemy PMCs can now net you lots of sweet, sweet loot that you can turn around and sell on the flea.

Just killed a sweaty boy with a storm trooper M4, but you’re low on cash or don’t use M4s? Sell that bad boy not to those cheapskate Dealers, but instead to the market. If I’m some RMT pubbie, I still can’t drop 5 BTC for a member of my party, because in this system, an item only gains a FiR tag when it is looted by a player (PMC or Player Scav) not in your party. Making it much harder to abuse.

How it’s better: Hopefully, this will make people want to engage more, enticed by the promise of piles of loot they can sell, rather than have it collect dust in their stash or be sold for a fraction of it’s worth to traders. More incentive to PVP means more shooting. And in Tarkov, shooting is always good. Bullets are love, after all.

Unfortunately that change would be far too easy to abuse - getting multiple parties into the same raid on some maps is incredibly easy.

Your proposed change also ignores one of BSG’s stated aims: that high-end gear should be scarce and that not every player should be running the best every raid. Your change does nothing to abate supply as things will still be constantly recycled rather than fed out to traders.

Sell crap to traders - it is still rather profitable.
