So this is by no means my first post about this, I have tried tirelessly on unity forums, tarkov forums and support as well as here now to get this sorted. When I boot up tarkov it quits me out usually straight away but sometimes in the initial loading screen with the man holding the AK rifle and I get unity error:

2018.4.28f1_9270cea7d51e

I have a long list of the steps I have done to try and resolve this issue I will attach my logs also at the bottom:

  • I have tried different driver versions.
  • I have tried "run as admin" on both launcher and game
  • I have tried "disable full screen optimisations"
  • I have tried reinstalling
  • I have tried verifying
  • I have tried deleting cache
  • I have tried logging out and back in on launcher
  • I have tried "running in compatibility mode"
  • I have whitelisted the games folders in antivirus and firewall and turned antivirus off
  • I am completely updated on drivers, windows updates, directx, c++ redistributables and whatever else id need to be.
  • troubleshooted components in my brothers computer
  • Used my brothers computer to file share over local network to download his files into my game directory (his copy is confirmed working)
  • turned off paging file
  • increase paging file to 9GB on 5 drives
  • Increased paging file to 32GB on all 5 drives
  • Increased paging file to 9GB and 32GB on just C drive
  • Turned off XMP
  • Dialed down ram from 3200mhz to 3000mhz
  • Dialed down ram from 3000mhz to 2133 mhz with default timings
  • Changed ram into other slots on pc and repeated the last 2 steps
  • I have now tried moving to a second drive which didn't work
  • fiddling with Nvidia performance settings
  • Installing game from a known working copy with USB stick
  • I have installed all of microsoft's framework stuff including dev packages
  • I just did 15 passes on memory checker (windows built in one) wich cache on on the extended version, and guess what, my ram isnt to fault

Thanks alot for any help

Hello. Try reinstalling the game and launcher, removing all associated files. You can also try to install the new OS on a separate partition and check on it. It seems to be a software problem.

Ive already tried this multiple times using uninstall.exes and even going into appdata folders as well as my documents to clear everything. Ive ordered new components for my pc now if only id waited 8 minutes aha just to be told its something that could be fixed by software.

Anyway thanks for the reply. Its actually installed on a fresh copy of windows. An i mean litterally brand new the day i brought tarkov, i have tried my NVME ssd with tarkov installed on my brothers computer (its my main c drive so windows carries across) and it worked, no partition changes or formats or anything litterally hotswap my drive to his pc, this would indicate to me it isnt a software issue could you confirm this?

Edit:

I have now also just tried unplugging all my drives other than my main c drive thats got tarkov on and it still didnt work yet this worked in my brothers pc with my c drive. Its definetly not drivers or anything else software related i spent hours checking through, i suppose well see on the 2nd when my computer parts arrive

О_о. It really looks strange)

But, apparently, the problem is in some kind of hardware or software that works with it. Try swapping components separately, and check it each time you replace them.

Okay you might want to refer up to the other dude i replied to on this thread. Its gonna get confusing because ive got to list alot of swaps but here we go: My brother has a confirmed working pc and working copy of the game

I tried my gpu in my brothers pc with drivers i was using at the tine and the game worked

I tried my brothers gpu in my pc with the drivers he was using at the time and it didnt

I tried his ram in my pc which didnt work

I then tried my nvme in his pc which did work

So by proccess of elimination that would leave motherboard and proccessor left as we cant test those theyre not compatible with eachother. Ive always suspected maybe the asrock b450m pro4f motherboard is a bit crap theyres been no recent bios updates for the 2600x the cpu i use whether its that or a component dying im changing them both because ive had problems in other games with crashes ect although unrelated and on different engines for a decent mid range gaming pc thats well looked after and under 1 year old i wouldnt expect to have this many problems with it so something must be broken.

Once i recieve these components on the 2nd and install probably that day i can use the new motherboard to test if it was my cpu or motherboard causing this, i probably will anyway as if its just the motherboard its a cheaper fix so i can return the cpu and you can potentially help anyone else out who may have this issue. If that is indeed the cause. Hopefully it is

Yes, I forgot about it, but I remembered while reading your message. I think I remember met a user who had a similar problem and was helped by updating the BIOS version. Perhaps this is the case. Just in case, check if there is a more recent BIOS version for you. If not, then let's wait for the 2nd Jan and, I hope, find out what is going on)

Yeah it seams like my motherboard manufacturer asrock has left me in the dark and just doesnt really support the motherboard anymore even though its still fairly new tech, i can risk updating the bios further but it says its not recommended for my CPU only the new 3rd and 4th gen ryzen it may still work but it may break an otherwise perfectly working motherboard and annoyingly you cant revert the bios updates on the board, il have a check tomorrow anyway

I think, in this case, it is better not to do this) Wait for the new motherboard)

You know i understand the risks but reading deeper into it, amd litterally recommends running bios 1.0.04 or something like that well that is about 5 bios updates ahead of mine. I have a sneaking suspision that it only says not reccomended because in order to have enough room to include new CPUs in the ROM of the motherboard they had to get rid of some CPUs support as other motherboard manufacturers actually list "dropped support for cpunamehere" So its a question of have they actually removed the 2600x to make room for another cpu? Im sure the 2600x is pretty popular so i dont think this would be the case. So today i am probably gonna risk it if it stops working ive only got a few days to wait for new parts im willing to take the risk for science! Aha

Ahah, okay)
My personal opinion - that's why I use Intel and Nvidia)

Ah honestly mate i changed from intel to ryzen i7-4790k to 2600x because it had gotten a little friend when a power supply failed (only worked on 600x480p lmao) and intel was alot better for compatibility i could throw in whatever parts i wanted and it would boot. Amd on the other hand...

I just updated the bios past the recommended. The pc still works but the game does not i suppose this means the issue is within the CPU most likely

Hah, I have i7-4790K now)

So, waiting for a new motherboard and CPU

Yeah right now im waiting. Honestly im so annoyed that i7 4790k cpu was really good, i only used to play videogames when i owned it but now i do video editing and redering proffesionally now and again so i need the core / thread count of ryzen otherwise i wouldve got the same again. Ik i fell for all the youtube marketing like linus tech tips ect saying how great ryzen was but honestly ive not seen it myself, ive owned more amd than i have intel but like intel more already. Keep that cpu for as long as you can to be honest if your only gaming and doing light work theyres no point in a change

Well, I happened to do video editing, and the rendering was on the processor, and there were no special problems =)

So it is suitable for such tasks as well, although it probably does it more slowly.

Rendering a 4k video on a 8 thread intel cpu would take forever lol. Also a new cpu and motherboard fixed the issue so there we go anyone who comes across this issue best get your wallets on the ready. Thanks for your help

Ahah, that's for sure) I edited the usual Full HD)

So the problem was still in the hardware
