I saw some Twitter post from Watts24fps, to which Klean answered inspiring me to post my thoughts here. I hope that u/trainfender sees this and can give us his thoughts as he is more active here than ever :)

We have a weird problem in Tarkov. The meta. In games there are metas generally, true. In this game, which is supposed to be hardcore and so its mechanics - meta should not exist. By meta here I mean building guns for each raid that have possibly the lowest amount of recoil and the biggest magazine, the best grip, the best stock even if the gun looks really bad with it. What is more, anyone who builds weapons differently - what a loser and noob omg, u should put CQR stock and the longest LVOA handguard for lowest recoil and the CQR grip!

Why such situations even take place??

Because of the full auto, lowest recoil (longest gun because they have the lowest recoils ingame), biggest mag META. Here I want to focus on the full auto thing. Why full auto meta only? Because of the engagement distances that we have in Tarkov, which usually are <50 meters. This is the first thing. The second, more important - assisted recoil control. I know what You will say here - in RL trained operators can fire full auto like we can in the game!

YES, of course - however, in RL soldiers are trained to NOT waste ammunition and destroy gun components like barrel or bolt with full autoing, spraying 60 rnds over and over. Still EFT is a game - we dont have to look for ammo numbers and guns do not jam (because for a gun to jam the durability must be pretty low) etc. So what Can we do? Let us test UNASSISTED recoil mechanics. We are testing EFT this way or another, so why not trying this one?? I would like to know what You think about that at this stage of EFT development. Nikita is it even possible for us to try it?? I remember that You said like now our recoil control skill is maxed and in the future it will be lowered step by step. Maybe from the next wipe we could try that or try totally unassisted shooting??

TL;DR - Let us try unassisted recoil mechanics because after playing EFT for a year I am sick of METAs .
