We all know of the REAP-IR, but rarely do we use it, and it's not just for it's exorbitant cost, ballooning your load out cost by over a hundred thousand roubles, but rather, because it's awful refresh rate making it neigh unusable for non-stationary targets.

I know there was a lot of concern in the Escape From Tarkov community about it's balance when it was first announced; I was one of them. Battlestate, for good or bad, responded to the community concern by lowering the refresh rate considerably, not to mention the fact that you are unable to spot people beyond a certain range with it.

Now that we've had the REAP-IR in the game for a considerable time, I'd like to have the refresh rate upped, if not to 60 hertz According to it’s product sheet[PDF] at least to 30 hertz. It's obvious BSG has plans for more thermal optics as showcased on their Twitter and in their Talking Tarkov podcasts where we have seen at least one more thermal imaging device.

Since the price is already a very limiting factor, can we at least make the optic practical for it's price? I very much doubt we'll see a meta shift towards thermal optics once the absurd gear supply of Labs dries up, since the current effects it has had on the economy is not what I'd call sustainable, but that's a topic for another post.

Agree or disagree, I'd like to hear some other nuanced perspectives on it from the community rather then the "it's OP" or "it's useless" that we encounter far too often, resulting in knee-jerk balancing.

we plan to add 4 + more thermal scopes. so REAP IR will be changed in a good way
