- Q: How do I log into Account Management for my EVE Online account?
A: You will need to log in via the SSO (Single Sign On). So go to “Account Management” (https://secure.eveonline.com/) and click the green button with a Steam Icon[support.eveonline.com]. This is where you input your Steam credentials.
- Q: I am not authenticated when I login.What's wrong?
A: If you just bought the game, then you will need to patch the game fully and restart the launcher to authenticate (there is a 5 min delay before you account is created if you patch really quickly, so just wait a little before starting up the launcher again).
If you already have the game, please wait for it to fully patch and then restart the launcher. Otherwise SSO (Single Sign On) page might be down, please try again in 10-15 minutes.
- Q: How to create an EVE Online username and password?
A: Just visit the following thread.
- Q: Can I upgrade an alpha account with a starter pack, without it creating a new account?
A: If you created an alpha account on Steam, then yes.
- Q: Can I combine my existing EVE Online account with Steam?
A: Standalone EVE Online accounts cannot be combined with Steam integrated EVE Online accounts. If you wish to use Steam you will need to create a new account via Steam. However, you can use the Steam EVE client to log in with these accounts: in order to do so; click the “Switch user account” link in the EVE launcher under the “Play” button.
- Q: Can I transfer my character from/to Steam account?
A: Yes you can, this option costs 2 PLEX or $20/20 EUR. Please visit Character Transfer[secure.eveonline.com]
- Q: When does the subscription time start after purchasing the game ?
A: Once you run the game for the first time or login into your account management for the first time.
- Q: Can I use my Steam Wallet to purchase EVE Online products?
A: Yes you can. By default you can use your Steam wallet to purchase any products on Steam, with the exception of EVE Subscription plans.
- Q: Do I get billed automatically? How to turn it off?
A: You will not get billed automatically, unless you check it in your payment options. You can stop it by canceling your subscription at https://secure.eveonline.com/CancelSubscription.aspx and also in your Account Details on Steam.
- Q: Why I can't buy subscription? It get's removed from my cart.
A: This is an issue with Steam still thinking you are subscribed. Please visit your Account Details and cancel subscription listed there for EVE Online. Then you will be able to purchase it again.
- Q: What is Launcher Error code: F860551A-5380-4AD0-8DBD-318C6961A016 (or something like that) ?
A: This is the error you will receive due to SSO (Single Sign On) page being unavailable. Please try again in a short while.

- Q: What are PLEX and how can I redeem them?
A: PLEX are in game items that can be purchased via Steam for real money and can be used in many ways. You can sell them in game for EVE currency (ISK), convert them into game time, or use them to pay for a service in Account Management. Additional information on PLEX is found on our Help Center[support.eveonline.com]
Once you have purchased PLEX it can take up to an hour to show up in the redeeming system. Even after an hour has passed, some players may need to restart their game client (if they were logged in when the purchase was made).
