4s | Behind every great Fleet Commander in New Eden |
---|---|
7s | is a chain of industrialists working to produce their ships. |
11s | Every massive war or fleet fight relies on production of vital Tech 2 equipment. |
16s | Bolstering the front lines through the invention of Tech 2 blueprints is a highly desired skill |
22s | which can be very rewarding to specialize in. |
24s | To get started with the production of Tech 2 equipment, |
28s | you'll first need to use the industry window to invent the blueprint. |
32s | Nearly all Tech 2 blueprints come from a blueprint copy of their Tech 1 variant. |
36s | A Tech 2 Acolyte drone, for example, can be invented using a Blueprint Copy |
41s | of the Tech 1 Acolyte drone. |
43s | This upgraded version is usually better in every way |
47s | and will fetch a higher price on the market. |
50s | As with any other area of industry, invention requires a certain set of skills. |
55s | You can see what's needed by right clicking on your blueprint copy, |
59s | choosing "Show info", and then looking at the invention section. |
63s | The skills required for invention and Tech 2 production can be quite high, |
67s | but it is a valuable investment for the aspiring industrialist. |
71s | Remember that a blueprint copy is created from a blueprint original. |
75s | The Material and Time Efficiency of the copy will not matter for the process of invention, |
80s | but the copy will be used up in the process! |
83s | Once your blueprint copy is ready, drop it into the Industry window |
87s | and click the Invention button. |
89s | The left side of the window shows your input. |
92s | For invention, this uses datacores found in data sites, |
95s | and the right side shows your output. |
97s | Invention only has a limited chance of succeeding |
101s | in creating the T2 blueprint copy. |
103s | You can see the likelihood of success next to the output. |
106s | To see which skills affect your chances you can hover over the number. |
111s | In addition to the required datacores, you will also see a slot for decryptors, |
116s | which can be used to improve the outcome of the invention process in various ways. |
120s | These are optional input items that come in many varieties. |
124s | Some may improve your chance of a successful outcome, |
127s | whereas others may lower your chances |
129s | while offering a more efficient blueprint if the job succeeds. |
133s | You can click to bring up the decryptor menu |
135s | and try them out before committing to the invention process. |
139s | When you're ready, start the job! |
142s | As with any industry job, you will need to wait for the process to finish. |
146s | If your invention is successful, you'll receive a limited-run Tech 2 BPC, |
151s | which can be used to make Tech 2 items! |
153s | Note the different categories of items which go into the new T2 item. |
159s | Building Tech 2 items requires a wide variety of ingredients, |
162s | including moon materials, minerals, a Tech 1 version of the item, |
167s | and components produced from planetary industry. |
170s | If you have the capacity, you can attempt to gather all of these yourself, |
174s | however it will take a lot of work. |
177s | You can instead buy the necessary components off the market. |
181s | Much like T1 manufacturing, just combine all the required materials |
185s | and start the job to make the item! |
188s | Knowing how to complete your first invention job |
190s | is just the tip of the iceberg in industry. |
193s | Keep building and you'll have the start of an industrial empire before you know it! |
