Please use this thread for feedback on the open beta for the 64-bit EVE Online client.

As part of the celebrations around the launch of EVE Online: Invasion, we’re delighted to announce that the opt-in open beta for the 64-bit EVE Online client is now live!

The transition to a 64-bit client is a huge technical milestone in the sixteen-year development history of EVE Online, and we’re super excited to be able to offer this open beta as we finalize testing and development of the new client.

How Do I Provide Feedback?

Part of the reason that we’ve been able to deliver a 64-bit open beta ahead of schedule is due to the incredible support we’ve received from the community during testing on Singularity.

All the bug reporting, discussion and flagging of issues has paid off, so be sure to provide bug reports and information on any issues you encounter.

Here’s a couple of resources that’ll assist you with the EVE Online 64-bit open beta:

Can you file a bug report, preferably in-game? (Press F12 and then click Report Bug.) Include screenshots if you can. Then, post back here with the EBR number of your bug. I’ll make sure that the graphics team takes a look.

If you have a driver that sets display settings on launch based on the binary that’s running, it’s possible that you may have to reset those settings for the 64-bit client, since it’s a different binary file than you have been using to launch Eve in the past.

Hey there, I’ve been investigating this issue since first reports of it. If it’s still occurring in your daily experiences I would really appreciate a bug report with the specific steps and settings you set to make the UI scaling issues occur. I have a 4k monitor available to me for testing and have been unable to reliably reproduce the issue, however it is a known issue we are trying to get to the bottom of.

Can you please submit an in-game bug report about this, by pressing F12, clicking Report Bug, and filling out the form? Your exact hardware, driver versions, etc. which get automatically submitted with such a report would be helpful to let us attempt to reproduce it on our end.

Also, try setting Interval One in your graphics settings if it’s not already. That in itself might account for the issue you’re seeing.

I took a look at your report. It was closed because it appears you’re running the game under Linux using Wine, which while it may work, isn’t a configuration we support, and we weren’t able to reproduce the problem running on Windows with a similar GPU.

I took a look at your bug report. In fact, the response was that your graphics card DRIVER was two years out of date and this may be related to your problem. You can download an updated driver for your 1070 at www.nvidia.com.

Also, the response pointed out that our current system recommendations do suggest not exceeding a resolution of 1980x1200. This is mainly a performance-based recommendation, though, and a number of our graphics team run the game with 4k monitors routinely, so it shouldn’t be a barrier to being able to choose a higher maximum resolution if your graphics card and driver report it as an option.

If you update your drivers and still have the problem, please update your bug report (which you can do at bugs.eveonline.com) and let us know.

Fantastic! I’m glad to hear the issue was cleared up by the update!

Try running it with the “Run clients with logging” box checked in the launcher. The LogLite app should open and gather logs, which might include a useful error message, or you can save the log and attach it to a support ticket or bug report.

If you open your launcher, go to the menu, and choose Show in Explorer -> Launcher Logs, you’ll see additional logs that might be helpful to add to your support ticket. (Or, you may be able to see something in them that helps correct the problem yourself.)
