64s we are got a whole bunch more exciting
66s matches for you today we saw a couple of
68s good ones yesterday a couple of
70s questionable comps being brought as well
71s of course and a number of teams going
74s home a number of teams securing their
76s spot into the main event later this year
79s so yesterday a couple of those matches
81s let's uh let's take a quick look at the
83s results so we saw the teams of guns one
86s Federation Platinum sensitivity Brave
88s Collective the Ancients paper number
90s numbers Deepwater Hooligans and dark
94s side secure themselves a spot in
96s Alliance tournament 19. they are done
99s until August they just need to practice
100s practice and try and win some pretty
103s Pogba prizes uh some other teams didn't
106s do so well they dropped those matches
107s and they moved on into the uh the
110s Elimination Brackets essentially now
111s they're a situation where they do not
113s win and they go home and no one likes
116s that unfortunately we did say goodbye
118s bye to a couple of teams we saw said
120s goodbye to Banana we said goodbye to
122s worm again we said goodbye to Sugar so
125s today we start with a couple more
127s elimination matches the first one being
130s snuffed out versus kitchen sinkhole and
132s again this is an elimination match no if
135s it's not for a kitchen cycle don't win
136s this they do go home winning does not
138s get them into the tournament however
140s there are still plenty more rounds to go
141s and that will culminate in the galenti
144s gamble uh CCP zealous went into a dark
147s room shot all the blinds and then came
149s out days later with this absolutely
151s insane rule set galenti ships only no
155s bands no no real restrictions just
157s complete and utter Insanity so three
160s teams will eventually have to go through

163s I don't know what you can call it
164s Gauntlet for one remaining spot so this
168s first round winning in that that takes
170s 24 of the 28 available slots for the
173s feeder rounds the other four uh teams
175s will have to compete for and it will be

203s also featured our first boundary of the
205s tournament from snuffed out managing to
207s boundary one of their ships straight out
209s of the Arena you go past 125 kilometers
212s and uh both CCP sales and CCP convict
215s are just there with high caliber sniper
218s rifles ready to blow your ship right up

222s matches yesterday there were some good
223s matches yesterday I'm looking forward to
225s some good matches again today I think
227s snuff is probably one of the ones I'm
228s looking forward to most alongside most
230s of the Wormhole matches too because it
232s means I get to Flame other cast members
234s yeah speaking of one more matches uh it
237s has not been the tournament of the
239s wormholder now uh last year we saw
241s Odin's call Wormhole group make their
243s way all the way to the Grand Final
244s before they dropped finally to truth
247s honor light in an exciting culmination
249s of last year's tournament they're a
250s wormhole group uh so they were carrying
252s that flag for all wormholers all over
255s New Eden but yesterday
257s that flag was very much not been carried
260s by anybody uh every single Wormhole
261s group that we saw lost by exception of
264s one where it was wormholer versus
266s wormholer so by sheer technicality one
269s normal group had to win uh that's just
272s like there's no other way around it uh
274s Wormhole candidates CSM Mark mazaraxis
277s uh will be with us later on and I'm sure
279s you'll have some Choice comments to that
280s uh moderator what do you make of the the
283s struggle that we've seen from from the
285s Wormhole group so far
287s well you have to understand that you
289s know some of the Wormhole groups are
291s there because they just can't compete
292s with the rest of the teams so uh
295s naturally that's why they have to go to
297s their own little area no in all
298s seriousness um there has been kind of a
301s history of Wormhole teams going very
303s deep and doing very well uh it just
305s hasn't been there year so far but uh you
308s know we have three entire more days of
310s matches and I'm sure a few of them will
312s make it to the main event
313s yeah I have I hope Wormhole groups tend
316s to be uh you know pretty high skilled
318s they'll have a good bit of farming of
320s course but uh a lot of the the sort of
322s PVP that exists in Wormhole space
325s um is is pretty intense so I I do have
327s faith that some of these wormholes uh
329s will pull something together our first
331s two matches will in fact feature
332s Wormhole groups and then we see later on
334s today we see whole control uh who will
336s go up against Rusty hyenas Clan so
338s wormholes you have a chance to you know
341s pull it back day one wasn't the day of
343s the wormholder perhaps day two will be
345s you know www for all of the Wormhole
348s groups
350s um we have just a few minutes now until
351s snuffed out versus kitchen sinkhole so
353s let us take a look at the bands for this

373s the Deacon and the kitchen sinkhole

389s of the tech two Logistics frigates so
391s basically you're saying hey you either
393s have to bring you know a Tech Two
394s Cruiser Logistics uh or you know you
397s have to bring tech one frigate and
400s to complement your other Tech too so so
403s basically saying you know you're gonna
405s bring the guardian since we do see in
407s onero so you're gonna bring you know
409s um another tech two Shield Cruiser
412s and mystical my pretty standard looking
414s bands from kitchen sink called Blackbird
416s we spoke about yesterday a super
417s powerful ship in tournament format and
419s the uniro's probably the strongest of
422s the armor Tech 2 Logistics Cruisers
425s um do you see anything being telegraphed
426s here or is this just pretty standard
428s bands
429s one of the Bands looks like it's just
431s them trying to counter one of the snuff
433s comps that they brought before the first
434s enough comp that we saw had two
436s blackbirds in it it didn't perform well
437s they lost
439s um but it's maybe something kitchen
440s sinkhole don't want to go up against the
442s ineros ban is interesting because snuff
444s haven't used in an era so far in the
446s tournament they've used Guardians and
449s tech one Logistics frigates
451s um not using those Tech 2 ones that
453s they've banned out in this in this round
455s so I don't know if it's necessarily like
458s dealing with any particular snuff comps
459s or if it's just something they've
460s practiced against and they want to force
462s enough into a slow-moving comp so
464s they're removing the logic for example
467s awesome well it is time to head over to
469s the arena for snuff dad versus kit and
471s sinkhole and our casters Mark

490s snuffed out they've brought it's almost
493s a pseudo dad comp they've got some
495s medium long range guns on their starting
497s an Absolution but importantly they've
499s got two curses and not a whole lot of
501s low end DPS meanwhile kitchen sinkhole
504s what have they brought Mark yes thank
506s you fear kitchen sinkhole has brought to
508s counter the astart and Absolution
510s they've brought dual Nighthawk with a
513s host of other Shield ships we have a
515s shield brawl compost Nighthawks are fit
517s with heavy assault missile launchers and
520s the game is now a foot kitchen single
522s we'll be looking to close that distance
524s so they can apply those hams up close at
526s the same time we see now snuffed out
528s moving back getting some range creating
530s some distance so they can do some
532s control plays in the middle
534s now this Vengeance playing screen right
536s now for snuffed out as what a few
539s maintenance spots Shield maintenance
541s spots have been dropped by the side of
542s kitchen sinkhole
544s I'm just trying to poke and prod a
547s little bit they do need to get in range
549s for their heavy assault missiles but at
551s the moment you have to realize snuffed
553s out they don't actually have that much
555s DPS they have an EOS a starting
557s Absolution and that's it for their
559s medium guns very different to the pseudo
561s dad comps we've been seeing from other
563s teams such as Platinum sensitivity uh
566s that focus on you know eight ships all
568s with medium guns plus an oracle so uh
571s has large guns on that one either way a
574s little bit of damage going on a barrel
575s in the Drake Navy issue right now from
578s snuffed out but meanwhile uh these
580s frigates from snuffed out their carries
582s their Confessor are being chunked out a
584s little bit but the strike Navy issue is
586s going down pretty fast he stalls the
587s semitar on top of him though with the
589s cursing is coming out he's not gonna
591s live that long yeah kitchen sinkholes
593s DPS is kind of all over the place right
595s now they've gone back and forth between
596s the Confessor the carries the Vengeance
598s this berolt in the Drake Navy will drop
601s as soon as he gets into armor uh these
603s Drake names not especially well known
604s for their armor tanking prowess but as I
608s say that he's just barely holding on but
610s he's right in the thick of it he will
611s not be long for this world at the same
613s time the carries from you Millennium and
615s snuffed out uh is now taking well I said
617s that I was taking some armor damage uh
620s and is now back up to full so overall it
623s looks like he's about to drop
625s and get your single really just needs to
626s find a focus in in in this swarm of
629s snuffed out ships and and pick something
631s that they can nail down
633s yeah I mean Shield brawl Shield Rush
635s ships you have to find a Target and pick
637s it down you typically start from uh what
640s is the most efficient chip in terms of
642s DPS for ehp and then you move yourself
644s uh down that list but starting on the
646s low end of these utility ships feels
648s like a little bit of a mistake
649s especially because they haven't really
651s been able to catch much with their low
653s ends quite yet they have a hyena they
655s have a jackdaw they should be able to
656s get on top of somebody the caracal maybe
658s issue already being chunked out to half
660s Health this curse of duck Slayer finally
663s getting some damage on top of him but
664s he's going to at least get this caracal
667s Navy issue before he goes down if not
669s more
670s yeah the kitchen sinkhole Fleet really
672s is relying on a lot of DPS they have a
674s ton of DPS in this Fleet those
676s Nighthawks are scary the caracal Navy
677s was scary uh that awesome the O and I
680s also these are ships that have you know
682s they can apply a lot of damage when they
684s get in in close but the the stuffed
686s outfit is is countering that by both
688s having a lot of armor buffer the
690s Absolution the EOS of course having a
691s ton of buffer and having a lot of
693s control in this Fleet in their in their
695s their their screening is playing this
697s really well but we see now that the uh
699s the duck Slayer and the curse absolutely
701s swarmed with drones uh but not a whole
703s lot else over there right now and again
705s kitchen sinkhole just is not focusing on
707s anything specific they're kind of spread
708s all over the place right now
710s the Scimitar he's got ancillary Shield
712s booster charges so the curse isn't
714s affecting him too much right now but
716s once he runs out of those charges and is
718s already up three out of the nine times
719s make that four it's going to be a very
722s quick deaths for the semi and finally
725s got some damage on the curse from
726s Kitchen sinkhole uh on to snuffed out
728s but he's living to win at the moment uh
731s with their tech one Logistics frigates I
734s mean this is just a weird comp from
735s snuffed out but the execution just not
738s there from Catching senko right now
739s they're about to lose their Scimitar and
741s they have yet to kill a single member of
743s the snuffed out team yeah that
745s scimitar's Shield HP was bouncing back
747s and forth like a yo-yo he will drop and
749s even if they kill the carries now which
751s it seems like they were trying to go in
753s on on the carries of you Millennium
754s early uh or at least within the last
756s couple seconds I don't feel like trading
758s three of your ships including your
759s lodgies a fair trade for a single
761s carries
763s yeah at some point you just got a
766s question the target calling priority
767s from uh this side of kitchen signal or
771s their ability to actually grab a target
773s with their low ends they have a hyena
775s they have long range webs but this time
777s around they just haven't been able to
779s grab anything at all they lose their
781s Osprey Navy issue right off the bat uh
783s these Nighthawks are about to go down as
785s well even though they are fairly tanky
786s ships they are easier to kill with these
788s medium guns uh than the hyena carries
790s checked all and mollus will be uh he's
794s 1983 the primary target for snuffed out
798s and they will win this match 100 to zero
801s uh goodbye kitchen sinkhole at least you
804s went out with a win in feeders so I got
807s minus 50 points for you instead of minus
810s 100. uh here is to hoping Novak actually
813s wins their match because otherwise I'm
815s gonna be minus 100 out of feeders yeah
818s these I'll tell you the with these these
820s kind of all in Shield Rush fleets that
823s rely on so much of this up from damage
825s from The Nighthawks so much of it relies
827s on your application and being able to
828s hold something down and if you can't do
829s that you're going to be in a rough spot
831s and as we saw here you know well played
834s of course by the snuffed out team but
835s really kitchen sinkhole needed to pick a
837s Target needed to find something they
838s could grab and really needed a lot more
840s I think from their low end to to support
842s the height I mean they had a ton of DPS
844s at the start of this match and we could
846s see the attack bar was so high to start
848s and you know that has all just fallen
850s off now when this Nighthawk goes down
851s they'll have nothing else except for a
853s couple ships that are maybe lucky to
855s avoid being shot just by hiding out the
857s uh the the handful of of uh sunkout
861s tackle but more than likely they are
863s going to get slapped as well
866s yeah Shield Rush getting kited I mean it
869s is unfortunately the thing Shield Rush
871s doesn't do super well if it's a
873s Nighthawk based one is actually chased
875s down upon uh kiter ships even these
877s armor kite setups uh still I can't help
880s but think that stuff that's comp was a
882s little bit weird here uh they didn't
885s have that much overall DPS and this time
888s around they just haven't uh really uh
893s like I feel like this was kitchen set
895s tools match to lose and they definitely
897s lost on execution here yeah not played
900s especially well I mean these kind of
902s these kind of armor control fleets are
903s are you know they're tricky uh you know
906s they they have like I said quite a bit
907s of armor buffer but uh you counter that
910s with a lot of VPS and security single
911s had a lot of DPS you're absolutely right
913s it was their match to lose and sure
916s enough they have lost it we see Goya
918s rollered in the carries going down we'll
921s pass it back to the desk after an
924s exciting if not perhaps predictable
926s about half way through first match to
928s the second day of feeders in the
929s alliance tournament 18.

999s um over kitchen sinkhole who perhaps
1001s should have brought a plug to uh you
1003s know stop everything trading straight
1005s down the drain out of the tournament
1006s they are gone they are done thank you
1008s for playing uh we'll see you next year
1012s um mystical might interesting comps
1014s bought by both teams look their kitchen
1016s sinkhole had a pretty high DPS Rush comp
1020s um we heard the casters talking about
1022s how uh it looked like from the start
1025s that you know they should have had that
1026s match based on on the matchup yet they
1029s didn't what happened
1034s I think it was an interesting mix of
1037s snuff playing okay and kitchen sinkhole
1040s playing badly
1042s um kitchen sinkhole brought a hyena I
1045s think everyone's expectation behind the
1046s scenes was that the hyena would be able
1048s to pin down one of the larger ships like
1050s the Absolution and get the rest of the
1053s team on it so all of The Nighthawks and
1055s the direct navies the Oscar Navy the
1057s caracal Navy
1058s and that's going to be doing a lot of
1060s damage right you're not going to be able
1061s to keep that up with the two laundry
1062s frigates that they had on their side
1065s um So eventually you'd be able to go
1066s through each of the core ships the
1068s damage dealing ships on the snuff side
1070s and they'd have nothing left
1072s um instead kitchen sinkhole decided to
1074s kind of loiter in the middle of the
1075s arena for a bit for making any decisive
1078s decision to burn towards the snuff team
1080s and by that time
1082s um snuff had managed to pull back a bit
1083s they'd been using their curses to start
1085s draining capacity from some of the ships
1086s I'm on the kitchen sinkhole side as we
1089s saw with the Drake Navy for example
1090s which was dead in the water wasn't able
1092s to turn on its hardeners and just fell
1094s through wraps
1096s um and kitchen sinkhole importantly
1098s didn't have any range projection and no
1100s way to deal with frigates so they were
1102s pinned down by the tackle from the snuff
1104s team while the curses were guidance
1106s disrupting them which means that they
1108s were applying poorly and they couldn't
1109s project Beyond like 10 kilometers anyway
1111s so they had no way of actually Breaking
1114s Free at that point so yeah it was just
1116s enough match to slowly and gradually win
1118s as long as they didn't make any big
1119s mistakes
1121s and more do you want to be feeling
1123s pretty pretty chuffed with snuff there
1125s uh your your home team taking their
1128s first victory over the last tournament
1130s 19 feeders and continuing to exist for a
1134s little while longer how do you feel
1135s right now
1136s you know I'm feeling you know pretty
1138s good about it they have another chance
1140s in
1141s um the round four if they win they're in
1143s and if they lose at the stage of the
1145s tournament all teams uh would be going
1148s on to the gallenti gamble or the
1150s absolutely insane uh match that somehow
1153s CCP zealous came up with uh but on the
1156s whole I'm glad that they're moving on
1159s awesome I wanted to also ask you a
1161s little bit about um how because you've
1163s played in a bunch of matches uh with
1164s some pretty high-end teams over the
1166s years
1167s um when you were up in a situation like
1169s that you have this kind of this Rush DPS
1172s Rush comp one of the most important
1173s things at that point is Target calling
1175s so how does that normally go down from
1177s the team lands in the arena
1180s so you land on grid you look at the
1184s ranges that you're at and that the other
1186s team's at you look to see what kind of
1187s weapon type they have fit and then you
1190s base their decisions off of that then
1191s you assign individual pilots and players
1195s to say hey this is going to be our
1197s general kind of game plan adjust as we
1199s need uh tackle here's what we want you
1201s to get on top of ECM this is what you
1203s need to lock down amps you need to
1204s mitigate Target ranges on these chips
1207s and it's a lot of just assigning uh
1209s different roles to your players that
1211s should know their ships and understand
1212s their capabilities and in this match it
1215s seems like uh both lotto and Athena did
1220s a pretty good job at understanding what
1221s they needed to do and just stringing out
1223s that Navy Drake stringing out that
1225s Nighthawk and not allowing them to
1226s allowing them to get on top of any of
1228s the snuff core
1230s that's a great um great point and it
1232s brings me right on to my next one
1234s mystical might uh one of the things that
1236s we talk about all the time both in times
1238s of matches and also hear people talking
1239s about this on TQ as well the concept of
1242s screening uh going to walk us through
1244s what screening is why it's important you
1246s know how one might do it yeah um so in
1249s Eve online screening is the term that is
1252s often used
1253s um when a team or a group of Romas or
1256s anyone else
1257s utilizes tackle ships within their comp
1259s to slow down hostile ships that are
1262s burning towards them typically so if
1264s you're screening you're stopping
1265s hostiles from getting tackle on You by
1268s either using your long-range webs that
1270s hyenas rapiers hugans have for example
1272s or you're using scrams which you have on
1275s your vengeances or your male addictions
1276s things like that your tackle ships
1278s basically an effective screen is usually
1281s one that can burn past the target or
1283s close enough to the Target to scram them
1286s to turn on my warp drive off or to get
1287s their webs off for a time without
1289s necessarily lingering in the same area
1291s to get tackled back so there are
1293s different ways of screening and
1295s depending on what you need your ship to
1296s do sometimes you'll fully commit the
1298s Vengeance onto the Nighthawk because the
1299s Nighthawk can't kill it but if you're
1302s going up against a lot of medium guns
1304s for example maybe having your Vengeance
1305s out of position isn't the best thing so
1307s you'd want him to to fly in scram and
1309s fly away again really quickly
1310s essentially it's just a way of
1312s protecting the core ships on your side
1314s from the hide probably high damage
1316s dealers on their side so you can make
1319s better use of your own range advantage
1321s awesome so that was a interesting match
1325s over our own first match of the day uh
1327s Wormhole is taking unfortunately yet
1329s another L uh and a living stuffed out to
1331s continue wormholes have another chance
1333s in our next match it's going to be the
1335s initiative versus no vacancies so let's
1337s take a look at the bands for this
1339s upcoming contest
1347s all right so uh the initiative Banning
1349s out the balgorn and the Blackbird uh I
1353s think again Blackbird becoming a Super
1355s common band we're really seeing this one
1356s getting getting chosen all the time uh
1359s Ball Ground also kind of common
1362s um we saw a bunch of them yesterday and
1363s then Novak Banning out the Scimitar and
1365s the carries perhaps a bit more
1366s interesting set of bands there moderator
1368s what do you think of these bands from
1370s Novak
1371s yeah Novak is choosing to ban out two
1374s ships that we would see typically in a
1376s more uh kind of uh Shield or even a
1379s control setup so uh you ban Scimitar
1382s because
1383s um you're you know it's it doesn't rep
1386s as much as it's uh called our encounter
1389s Park
1390s but it's much more faster much more
1392s mobile uh and very hard to also screen
1395s or attack on like we were talking about
1398s earlier and the carries is going to be
1400s just a very common generic and like the
1403s Blackbird wanting to get rid of
1404s effective T2 damps
1407s and Misty Banning out this uh burger and
1411s Blackbird uh two ships that are pretty
1414s good at kind of countering on the shack
1417s called perhaps even a double the share
1418s comp and we saw the initiative uh
1420s brought that yesterday they seem to
1422s quite like it you know do you think
1424s they're almost telegraphing hey you know
1426s the Shack's pretty cool we might bring
1428s them again
1429s I think it go it could go one of two
1431s ways I think the balcon and the
1433s Blackbird combo is very good against
1435s both of the concert initiative brought I
1437s think they brought the Lush access to
1438s like you mentioned but they also brought
1440s a Nighthawk sleptner Rush as well and
1443s the combination of long range webs and
1446s really strong needs from the balgo one
1448s would uh in combination with the jams
1450s from the black bear so that they can't
1451s actually shoot anything that's tackling
1453s them would also probably be fairly
1455s deadly to their ability to win those
1457s matches so I I think it's just a strong
1459s pairing anyway I don't think no
1461s vacancies have flown about going or a
1463s blackbird yet in this tournament but
1465s maybe it's something that initiative
1466s practiced against and have decided they
1468s again can't deal with it with the comps
1470s that they want to bring in the feeders
1472s uh on Banning strategy mod
1475s um if you're going to put bands in for
1477s your team you've seen what the what
1480s ships the other teams like to bring
1481s you've got a little bit of information
1483s you know what your comp doesn't do well
1485s against that you want to bring you know
1487s how much of one are you leading in are
1489s you going all just unbanning what I
1490s don't want to see or are you going to
1492s try and Target bands against what the
1493s other side likes to bring
1495s I mean it could be a little bit of
1497s column a column B if you know that your
1499s opponents are a one trick and really
1502s only have one really really good comp
1504s you can just say hey no fun allowed
1506s you're gonna have to bring something
1508s else that you're not as good or uh
1510s practicing and uh there can also be you
1515s know a thought process of hey maybe
1517s we're just weak against this we don't
1518s like it
1519s um in the end you should understand how
1522s your comp fare against every other kind
1524s of generically good comp in the event
1528s and kind of Base your banding strategy
1530s around if we ban this and this it means
1532s this is open and we can bring this comp
1534s uh that's a little bit of the strategy
1536s we're going to start seeing in the main
1538s tournament not so much in the theaters
1540s just quite yet because we don't have
1541s enough bands available
1543s yeah we have only two bands for each
1546s team and the way the Banning system
1547s works uh analyze term 19 is both
1550s captains submit two bands completely
1552s blind from the other the other team you
1555s just submit them you say hey we're
1556s Banning those chips if those chips
1558s happen to contain any duplicates then
1561s you get what we call trickle bands so if
1563s you both choose to ban a ballgan uh then
1566s you would have a third bank if both of
1568s you choose to ban say balgar and bar
1570s guest then you both will get two more
1572s bands if they all happen to be the same
1573s as well then you know cool you know
1576s maybe try to be more original but it
1578s there's no more bands after that so
1579s there's a potential for a maximum of
1581s four bands per side with a total of six
1583s possible ships maximum being banned in
1585s each match this is different from the
1587s main tournament it's less bands which
1589s means it's a little bit easier in my
1591s opinion uh to you know not be banned out
1594s of comps the the number of ships
1596s available leave online compared to say
1598s uh you know 10 plus years ago when two
1601s bands was was the common system has
1602s obviously increased and there's a lot
1605s more opportunities to you know go off
1607s the wall and bring some interesting uh
1609s Shenanigans but I think we are almost

1645s pretty much in
1646s um in touch with his inner triglavian
1648s because they brought less sharks again
1651s that we saw yesterday that I think a
1653s couple of us behind the scenes didn't
1654s really like but I think it's a different
1655s variant of the double effects I don't
1657s remember them having an Armageddon with
1658s it as well
1659s um and it's going to be quite an
1660s interesting matchup to see how it comes
1661s up in this presumed Newt War that's
1663s going to go on here with uh you know the
1664s Armageddon on the other side of Fury or
1666s at least for no vacancies
1667s interestingly neither of those guidance
1669s have any lunches so this is going to be
1671s full nude getting on both sides as well
1675s I think the other thing is the
1677s arbitrator here I think the arbitrator
1678s is quite an under underrated ship the
1680s arbitrator and the Sentinel combo
1681s together you get so much disruption it's
1683s exceptionally powerful and when as you
1685s said there's no guns on the Armageddon
1686s so all of initiatives damage is going to
1688s be on those two Le shacks and tracking
1690s disrupts can just break your spool or
1692s just stop you spooling entirely you
1693s literally can't shoot if they're out of
1694s range even if you load Nissan and you've
1697s got 15 kilometers range you're still
1698s another Shack you haven't really got the
1699s speed to get on top of them it can be
1701s very very difficult to play the game if
1702s that arbitrator goes uncontrolled that
1704s is right uh dark shines though is
1706s charging forward it's a little bit of a
1708s risky play because like the other um
1710s Armageddon and the other check is a
1711s little bit behind so let's hope that
1712s they don't get screened and then bumped
1714s off so they kind of deal damage and
1716s spool
1717s um the storm bringer actually by Carl J
1720s those is already working on the drones
1721s on the other side One Flight of the Bots
1724s is already down they're working now on
1726s the DPS drums um that modules coming in
1728s though so he's doing a field day heavy
1730s I'm about to drop on the initiative side
1732s and they are slowly going towards the
1734s shark of dark shines seems to be primary
1736s this this Punisher of style Steve has
1738s burned in his I think to try and hold
1739s down this little Shack just land a scram
1741s on him but he's immediately swarmed with
1742s a bunch of acolytes coming from the
1744s initiative ships here so this Punisher I
1746s mean I'm not sure if he's still holding
1748s scram here if he's actually just
1749s tackling if his Target got away and if
1751s he's just held by the Magus or something
1753s but it doesn't look like he's
1754s particularly where he wants to be around
1755s Punisher obviously a very tanky tech one
1757s frigate but if he hasn't grabbed
1759s anything then you know he's kind of
1760s stuck there and he hasn't done what he
1761s needed to do
1762s I'm not sure if he didn't like get um
1764s hit by a heavy uh news or something and
1766s then stopped in his tracks goes like
1768s there are two midships so they cannot
1770s have a cup um booster on it
1773s um dark shines is slowly heading to half
1775s um
1776s um but it does and the fury all the
1779s listen I'm not getting is Comfortably
1781s tagging right there on the other side
1782s it's not looking good because the nudes
1783s are going to be starting to take effect
1785s the longer the match goes on
1788s yeah I'm not sure about killing the
1789s Punisher here because I mean once you've
1790s got him scrammed he's not really doing
1792s anything he's already missed his Target
1794s you've sprung the Trap you've evaded it
1796s both of your Shacks have got through but
1797s you don't you don't really need to kill
1799s the Punisher anymore you can hold him
1799s with something else and just keep
1800s putting those distract damage into
1801s something else you keep pumping the
1803s Armageddon you need to keep pushing
1804s forward here because dark times as you
1805s said is going to take damage here and
1807s I'm not certain that they're going to
1808s win the new war here and this get him to
1809s get a match up
1811s yeah Rocky is the only Shack that is
1813s currently shooting and um his
1814s disintegrator is not the bright red that
1816s we want to see it's still like oranges
1818s so I don't know if his spool is even
1819s that high maybe he got broken off maybe
1821s he got bumped off got out of the range
1822s but um um it's not looking very good for
1826s the initiative team right now
1828s they have finally got these the Shacks
1830s parked up right on top of Fury orderlies
1831s though although dark shines does need to
1832s learn to press control space and stop
1833s his because he's massively out
1835s tracking himself right now
1836s um hopefully he'll slow down I think the
1837s other team is helping him out a little
1838s bit by webbing and he is entering low
1840s armor here he's probably not even going
1841s to get to sports along in fact is he
1842s even shooting his guns I think he may
1844s just be suffering really heavily from
1845s the new pressure here from this get him
1846s there is a lot of split DPS on the uh
1849s Novak side The Inquisitor is getting
1851s damaged the hyena is getting damaged the
1853s Magus is getting damaged on the
1854s initiative side so there's a lot of
1856s strain on those two attack oneology
1858s frigates and dark shines is no longer
1860s for this world
1861s yeah they're sort of caught between a
1863s rock and a hard place because one of the
1864s weaknesses of those logic frigates is
1865s their range they've got decent fall off
1867s on the Reps but I think they're optimal
1868s range is like five kilometers so if
1870s you've got you know you're trying to
1871s deal with half your Fleet on one side of
1872s the grid and the other half you know
1873s trying to peel off the little Shacks
1875s um sorry peel off those bad arm again
1877s and just keep keep the doubt keep the
1879s Reps flowing in both directions it's
1880s very hard to position yourself in a
1881s place that sort of helps both sides of
1882s the match and in that situation you've
1884s got to choose which one are you gonna go
1885s for you can't help them both so
1887s it just forces you into a difficult
1889s position
1890s interesting that the hyena like seem to
1892s absolutely accomplish nothing for the
1894s initiative team maybe it got muted off
1897s um but it definitely did not screen The
1899s Punisher it didn't help catch anything
1901s on top to deliver those little Shacks so
1903s um
1904s and then one first Inquisitor is down
1906s for the initiative I think this is going
1907s to be a spiral they cannot uh recover
1909s from anymore
1910s yeah I mean like you said at the start
1912s the armageddon's don't even have guns so
1913s even after they clear this no vacancies
1915s Armageddon the damage won't change it'll
1917s still be in about an Absa and EOS
1919s pumping into you the second Inquisitor
1921s is going to go down and that much damage
1922s will be able to just rip through what's
1924s left on the initiative side here and
1925s this is indeed looking like an issue
1926s they're going to be heading for an early
1927s exit
1929s do you think that maybe
1931s um the tele bands the initiative have
1934s banned balgoons three times in a row I
1935s believe so was it a little bit of a
1937s Telegraph and the vacancy were really
1939s smart to capitalize on that and prepare
1941s for this very top heavy uh even heavier
1944s than in the previous matches version
1945s with the Armageddon on top
1947s yeah I think it's possible I think you
1950s know seeing the bow gone ban balgown
1951s when it comes to new Wars is just such a
1953s terrifying Prospect because you can't
1955s really mute it out if it's got noses
1956s it'll always win
1958s um so it's it's just it's you've got the
1961s range on the Armageddon
1962s um and I think initiative we're hoping
1964s to use the range newts on the Armageddon
1965s without the presence of album on the
1967s other side to screen it and just push in
1968s and get the Shacks on target but it
1970s hasn't really worked out as you said the
1971s hyena not really making much progress
1972s the Vengeance I don't think I saw the
1974s Vengeance go particularly aggressive at
1975s the start and this double shot comp you
1978s can see when you land you've got a
1979s little bit of time there's an arbitrator
1980s on a sentinel you know that your tubular
1981s Shacks are not going to have much range
1982s and you need to get pushing in ASAP
1986s that's right and uh at the same at the
1988s same time um
1990s I'm pretty sure that those Sentinel and
1992s the arbitrator they didn't bother even
1994s with GDs so that LE Shack with um occult
1997s is going to be like 3K maybe and um
2001s added the new pressure on top I don't
2003s think this is a fun time for the zarya
2005s enjoyers over here
2007s yeah I gotta be honest I think Alex
2009s katsuo in the uh Sentinel is probably
2011s having a great time because from my
2012s experience in scrims when you come up
2013s against all these comps like this where
2015s it's got like two really heavy gun
2016s battleships and you're flying like a
2018s little Sentinel and you're tracking
2019s disrupting them both and you're just
2020s zooming around them at like three
2021s kilometers like you will never touch me
2023s you can't touch this and that you can
2024s see them red boxing you know they're
2025s trying to kill you and they just can't
2026s hit you this pathetic little five-point
2028s disabling both battleships it's
2030s such a powerful feeling
2031s I'm really curious as the last check
2034s um on either side well really that was
2036s only a initiative mind but I I'm really
2038s curious if they even had the cap
2040s transfer because um uh due to the magic
2042s of cup transfers um they can elevate a
2045s little bit of a news pressure maybe that
2046s would have given them a little bit of a
2047s easier time and as I say that the other
2049s Initiative for Shack Bites the Dust
2051s pretty red explosion
2054s yep so it's just gonna be clean up now
2056s for no vacancies and it's looking like
2057s it's not even going to be a single point
2058s on the board for the initiative here
2060s with just minimal damage left the
2061s Armageddon of Fury is surely gonna pick
2063s back up now and it is going to be no
2064s vacancies eventually continuing on I
2067s believe to face snuffed out I think it's
2068s next Sunday uh we'll have to double
2071s check the schedule for that but I think
2072s they those teams will match up against
2073s each other next Sunday and I believe the
2075s winner of that will advance
2078s um so that'll be one to watch for sure
2079s it's really nice to see a warm holiday
2081s team advance and take on another
2083s medium-sized group like independent uh
2085s initiative Alliance
2087s um even though they've lost I have to
2088s give a shout out to the Stormbreaker
2091s choice because I think it's very nice we
2092s we are seeing a lot of inquisitors a lot
2095s of deacons and uh what do you think it's
2097s in general those teams they tend to
2099s generally rely heavy on the arm robots
2102s so having that stormy zap them safely
2104s from 80 kilometers away or even 120 I
2108s think is the um last uh snipe strike
2112s range you can do nothing about that and
2115s this is like a really important part of
2117s the um of your composition to keep those
2120s logic frigates alive with uh with all
2121s your Bots
2123s yeah for sure when it comes to lodgy
2124s free get comps most of the like the tank
2126s of the logic frigates isn't in Rory HP
2128s it's in mitigation with their size and
2129s their speed so relative to their HP bars
2133s the impact of lodgybots is far far
2135s greater so like you say the Stormbreaker
2136s to zap those drones can be super super
2138s impactful and yeah it was a really smart
2139s choice to bring it but yeah it just
2141s wasn't enough to swing the match in this
2143s case good idea I didn't pan out
2147s I think for the Armageddon of Master
2149s Turin to go down surely but slowly uh
2152s he's actually taking his sweet time
2153s today so maybe he's up as I said that he
2156s just chunks straight to the uh the
2158s structure of Hip-Hops
2163s yeah congratulations to no vacancies
2165s they've made it the second weekend
2166s unfortunately for initiative they are
2167s knocked out uh let's send it back to the

2243s end as they win over the initiative and
2245s secure it themselves still further
2247s deeper into this feed around of course
2250s the initiative we say goodbye to them
2252s they are they are out for now uh we will
2254s not see any more of them of course that
2256s means there are pilots uh no longer have
2258s a team to compete for in Alliance
2259s tournament 19. perhaps they could mark
2261s for a successful team that has maybe
2263s made its way into the Min tournament an
2265s example being gunsmart Federation that
2266s would be a team that perhaps could look
2268s for pick up some extra Pilots you never
2270s know I'm sure those two teams in the
2271s past have uh have worked
2273s between each other
2275s um mystical might
2277s what do you think of bringing an
2278s Inquisitor and a deacon obviously if you
2280s bring two deacons you're gonna get hit
2282s by Point inflation but you know
2284s The Inquisitor is the tech one it's a
2287s lot weaker right
2289s say it's necessarily A Lot weaker it's a
2292s fair bit weaker than the Deacon but I
2295s still think it's one of the tankier
2296s logistics frigates that you can bring
2298s and in terms of the rep amount I don't
2300s think anyone's bringing lodgy frigates
2302s with the intention of fully keeping
2305s something up during the match it's more
2306s about delaying its depth and allowing it
2308s more time on grid so I don't think it's
2310s necessarily a bad decision to bring The
2312s Inquisitor and the Deacon together as a
2315s fairly tanky Duo frigates that can get a
2318s little bit closer than maybe the Navitas
2320s and Thalia can because those are a
2323s little bit more prone to dying
2325s um if they get shot so I I think it's an
2327s okay decision and it gives them a few
2328s more points that they can use then to
2330s flesh out the rest of their comp
2332s allowing them to do a bit more damage
2336s yeah speaking of points
2338s um moderator we saw the initiative bring
2341s 71 points just in battleships with uh
2345s dual Shacks taking the extra points from
2347s the point inflation Rule and that full
2350s new Armageddon that's a huge amount of
2353s points in just three ships
2355s yeah we're seeing a lot of teams bring
2357s this double the shack core it has been
2359s decent ish in previous tournaments but
2363s one of the things that we're seeing now
2364s a lot is it very much get bullied by
2368s teams like no vacancies that bring
2370s essential arbitrator and when you throw
2372s all of those tracking disruptors and put
2375s it into optimal range on a shack your
2378s optimal range is basically nothing as
2381s the cast alluded to so it's definitely
2384s fallen out of favor and I I frankly wish
2386s teams would stop doing it it's 2023. you
2389s got to get new scratches and new comps
2393s message you think uh the initiative you
2396s know was there a point they could have
2397s taken that match and swung it or was it
2400s really no vacancies to to lose
2402s essentially
2405s to say I'm trying to think exactly about
2408s what strategy the initiative could have
2410s used to win
2411s um they both had the Armageddon I think
2414s the no vacancies Armageddon was put to
2415s better use than perhaps the initiative
2418s one
2419s um as the Armageddon on the No Vacancy
2421s side was able to turn off some of the
2422s lashac spools and micro walk drives over
2425s the course of that match so both
2427s resetting their damage down to the base
2429s damage that they do at the start but
2431s also lowering their mobility and their
2433s ability to catch up to their no
2434s vacancies team I think that the
2437s initiative probably should have taken
2439s greater steps to play behind their
2441s Vengeance and their hyena they pushed
2444s their battleships forward towards the no
2446s vacancies team and we saw dark shrines
2448s fly into the lead and then kind of get
2450s isolated if they played behind the
2452s Vengeance and the hyena I think they
2454s would have had a better chance of
2456s catching one of the vacancy ships
2459s um kind of alone and then they can put
2461s their Grapplers to use because it looked
2463s like both sides were utilities and
2464s Grapplers to maybe web down some of the
2467s inquisitors and things like that on the
2468s vacancy side if they got close enough
2470s for them to want to swap I think they
2472s could have just powered through the
2474s abandon our Absolution to be honest
2476s um without needing to worry too much
2477s about shooting the Armageddon first as
2479s that's likely to be the tankier ship
2481s because you don't need heat sinks for
2482s your note for your newts to be good
2485s awesome thank you and one last thing on
2487s that match
2488s um for you mod we heard one of the
2490s casters there was talking about how uh
2493s it looked like dark shines needed to
2494s control space and he might be out
2497s tracking himself what exactly was Darren
2499s talking about there
2500s yeah so uh turn it ships unlike missile
2503s ships have this uh rate at which your
2506s guns can do the spinny thing around and
2508s actually Focus fire on top of another
2511s ship and when you are in a battleship
2514s your guns are very slow at actually
2516s physically turning and doing that so if
2519s you are going faster in a straight line
2521s then your actual guns can spin around
2524s and catch up with that and we do see
2526s this excellent infographic shown by our
2529s production team uh explaining how
2531s tracking Speed Works unfortunately dark
2534s shines especially with the tracking
2535s disruption that was on him would have
2538s had a great deal of difficulty keeping
2539s up and actually applying damage

2546s opens up a whole new world for us we
2547s could talk about all sorts of mechanics

2552s that uh yeah but as I said the
2554s initiative done no vacancies in zone uh
2557s let's move forward and look at our next
2558s match so we have our code versus test
2561s Alliance please ignore let's check out
2564s the bands and see what these two teams
2566s are choosing uh not to face
2570s so it looks like uh test Alliance please
2574s ignore Banning out the looky and the
2576s carries interesting to Banner are
2578s looking not a very common ship it's
2580s quite heavy in points as well we don't
2582s see them super often in fact usually uh
2585s the uh the Russian teams tend to field
2587s them more than more than the rest but
2589s again interesting band and then barcode
2591s Banning out balgorn and curse so eor is
2594s not their Forte let's look at my any any
2596s further thoughts on these bands here
2598s it's interesting to see the Loki band
2600s come out from test maybe they've been
2603s um scrimming against some of the rush
2605s comps that we know about like The
2606s Nighthawks slept news low-keys things
2608s like that which we've seen in previous
2610s tournaments I don't know how effective
2612s they would be in the tournament this
2614s year but perhaps it's something they've
2616s tested against and their comps haven't
2617s done too well against the combination of
2619s high damage from the hams and the long
2621s range webs that Loki possesses and the
2624s carries I think is just going to be a
2625s standard ban alongside things like the
2628s curse in this tournament just because
2629s with the rule change to the damps only
2633s being able e-war in general being only
2636s allowed on ships that have bonuses for
2639s that e-war
2640s you're limiting the ability for other
2642s teams to bring damps that will
2644s some of the comps that you may be able
2645s to bring and the carriers is just a
2647s strong ship anyway
2649s exactly uh any any further thoughts on
2651s these bands from you moderator
2654s yeah I'd like to see kind of the the
2656s Belgian curse man is basically saying we
2659s really really hate Newt we really don't
2660s want to get controlled it's also a setup
2662s that I would bring if I wanted to bring
2665s either a kite or a rush to the
2667s potentially uh curse is very good at
2670s kind of nuding out things like logic
2671s frigates that you need uh and
2674s balgorn again good at using its newts
2677s and webs to control Rush setup so
2681s um I'm interested to see what all five
2684s members of both barcode and tappy bring
2686s to this
2687s yeah this could I mean underman comps
2689s are a thing they tend to not do very
2692s well uh if this is your first time
2694s watching uh the alliance term in any
2696s form welcome uh this is 10v10 this takes
2699s place on Thunderdome these are the
2700s feeder rounds the teams are competing
2701s for 28 total spots to get into the main
2704s tournament four teams already got direct
2706s invites by virtue of coming top four
2708s last year that is truth on a light
2711s Odin's call we from Volta and the
2713s tuskers the rest of every team that
2716s wanted to join they have to run through
2717s this Gauntlet now worth mentioning um we
2721s have come back to round one matches now
2724s so this is a win and in match for this
2726s these two teams if barcode win this they
2729s are guaranteed a slot in Alliance
2731s tournament 19. if test Alliance please
2733s ignore witness they're guaranteed a slot
2735s in Alliance tournament 19. so this is
2737s one of those moments where you have to
2738s think hey you know how all end do we go
2741s do we want to just just go balls to the
2744s wall get our first win and then we can
2746s relax go back to practice until August
2748s or do we try and play a little bit
2750s subtle
2752s I mean I don't know what the standards
2754s of these two teams are obviously uh so
2756s Darius from test a long time tournament
2758s veteran he's he's pretty you know pretty
2760s up there with uh with good Pilots
2763s barcode team they had success and I
2765s think online tournament 15. we haven't
2767s seen them much since then mystical might
2769s do any predictions of what we might see
2771s here
2772s um I'm gonna I'm gonna hope for my
2774s friends in Winter Cohen and pray that
2777s tests managed to get through on the
2778s first round I expect that barcodes have
2781s basically quit Tranquility to play
2783s entirely on Thunderdome and practice for

2791s um but you know maybe they choke you
2793s know I think a lot of the members are
2795s fairly new to the to the tournament
2796s scene so maybe some of the boundary

2829s now the third match of the day we have
2832s the team from barcode a very interesting
2836s Alliance uh name uh also pronounced
2840s who have a kind of an armor uh control
2843s comp with dual exec Navy's EOS oniros
2847s Prof Navy brutix Navy and Oracle and
2849s fear what are we seeing from the team
2850s from thessalance please ignore
2853s uh Tapia brought an underband King
2856s Slayer comp and I want to to point out
2859s real quick that typhoon has a rate of
2863s fire bonus and the Armageddon Navy issue
2864s has a damage bonus
2867s so their clip times will not align up
2870s this is not typically what you want to
2872s see in a king's uh and a king killer
2874s setup uh they are up against a lot of
2876s medium ships though so it might work out
2878s for them but first off the bat this may
2880s just being chunked out quite heavily by
2882s these medium guns from barcode but
2884s conversely the Oracle not a very tanky
2887s ship as it is an attack battle cruiser
2888s is going to be the target from test
2890s Alliance please ignore yeah we see the
2892s barcode Confessor coming in to kind of
2894s get some range but perhaps provide a
2896s little bit of screening there in the
2897s Middle with the British Navy of necrox
2899s uh the rest of the team is posting up in
2902s in sort of a back uh Arc away from the
2905s team from test while the team from test
2907s again is is kind of spreading out you've
2909s got the arm getting in the Middle with
2910s the typhoon there as well Deacon of
2912s course in the Pawnee there with them
2914s well the vigi celestes makers and value
2916s all kind of hang towards the back line
2918s both these seams neither one teams
2919s really want to engage too heavily but
2921s now we see the Oracle of coconut water
2923s in getting chunked deep into armor I
2926s will need match reps quickly or you will
2929s go down but as I say that the Typhoon
2931s from solarius and test Alliance also now
2933s chunking into armor there's a back and
2935s forth between these two see which one
2936s will go down first
2938s yeah there's just a lot of damage in
2939s these medium guns plus large guns from
2941s the Oracle uh with the pseudo died setup
2944s coming in from barcode and they're
2946s actually able to keep this Oracle alive
2947s through the rapid heavy Clips I think uh
2950s this might be an A B Oracle or something
2952s of that nature because typically rapid
2954s heavy should be able to deal with an mwd
2956s version of the ship uh fairly quickly I
2958s don't know that for a fact though uh
2960s either way this typhoon also has capped
2963s shreps but meanwhile this Deacon
2965s absolutely demolished by barcode and
2967s they might move on to Thalia next these
2969s medium guns working exactly as intended
2972s yeah barcode absolutely making the the
2974s true gamer play to go for the lodge
2976s early this T1 free Lodge if you can find
2978s a way to apply to it uh is is absolutely
2981s going to melt it does not hold up quite
2982s as well some of the other ships on grid
2984s and you know what's really good at
2985s killing smaller ships or smaller guns
2987s which is exactly what they have fit now
2989s the hyena from Star Melnick on the Barco
2991s team now getting chunked into armor but
2993s again the Logie the Fernando neroes of
2996s Sid the Kid shout out to my boy Sid is
2998s absolutely doing the God's work over
3000s there to keep these ships up and make
3001s this seem competitive
3003s yeah an Aeros rep's very very powerful
3006s obviously Some people prefer the
3007s guardian but uh just the nearest I think
3010s is typically uh what you see from a lot
3013s of these kite setups in armor just
3015s because of the better cap of the ship

3042s again especially with only one Lodge he
3044s left on grid you're going to be in a
3045s tough spot there either way now we see
3047s the Magus of somniferous AE being
3051s chunked into armor and again just a
3052s single Thalia is not going to be enough
3054s to keep this up and there's just so much
3055s damage left on the side from barcode
3058s they're going to have their way with the
3059s rest of this team I would be surprised
3061s if they don't 100 to zero the team from
3063s 10 who came in undermanned against a
3067s very good team from from barcode and uh
3070s yeah this is not I think too surprising
3073s considering what we saw at the beginning
3074s of it uh but either way well played from
3076s the team from barcode well test has
3078s finally turned their rapid heavy zones
3080s in the arrows but unfortunately uh
3082s barcode probably has this as a dual prop
3084s in arrows so he should be able to escape
3086s these rapid heavy missiles pretty
3088s effectively especially with his own
3090s armor rep we'll see how well that works
3093s down I don't know if the scenaris is
3094s tackled it is not uh it is just being
3097s damped right now by the celestis so uh
3099s should be able to live for at least a
3101s bit of time while it uh swaps props but
3105s by the way test Alliance plays like Nora
3107s can color setups not amazing against
3109s armor kite setups and we're seeing
3112s exactly why uh this time around they
3116s just did not the catch to be able to
3118s hold the Target down and kill it and the
3120s rapid Heavies if you're not killing
3121s someone in a single clip it's not gonna
3123s work for you and we saw that uh earlier
3126s around this typhoon also once again with
3130s a rate of fire bonus that's not the
3131s bonus you want to see in a king killer
3133s setup that's why we typically will see
3134s typhoon fleets over the typhoon just
3137s because a pure damage setup uh from
3141s every or pure damage bonus gets you a
3144s better clip times or ratio of time
3146s you're doing DPS to time you're doing a
3149s Reload saldarius goes down and test as
3152s you mentioned probably gonna lose this
3153s hundred to zero yeah the the the the
3156s Barco team really played this about as
3158s well as they could have because if you
3159s if you're not going to defend somebody
3161s and go for their DPS first the next best
3163s thing you can do in a lot of cases just
3165s to take away their hands right which is
3167s what they did they went for the low end
3168s they use those medium guns they applied
3170s well took out the logic we see the last
3172s value going down just now and with with
3174s that left all they have left now are the
3176s two get navies which are great ships
3178s love these ships you know very strong
3180s but against you know a fully operational
3183s Barco team not long for this world uh
3187s and teslance will go down here uh
3190s thankfully this is not their last match
3191s they have one more to pull it out later
3193s on today but we will see the team from
3196s barcode Alliance uh advancing to the
3200s next round

3382s reloaded uh many years ago what it is is
3385s you take a core of usually at least

3390s um heavy rlml battleships and what you
3393s do is you try to kill the logistics
3396s which was why it was called a king
3398s Slayer you try to break that and then
3400s from there on out you slowly work
3402s through the rest of the core
3404s um unfortunately tests couldn't even
3407s really kill
3410s um
3411s the Oracle on that side of barcode which
3415s does not bode well
3417s um unfortunately one of the issues with
3419s kingslayer as brought by test is that it
3423s really needs a couple things you need
3424s long-range webs to actually apply and
3428s hold something down so that that
3431s combined with ideally a painter to mix
3434s your rlml damage apply that much better
3438s foreign yeah it did seem that they
3441s struggled to apply Misty as we saw them
3443s go initially for the Oracle uh Oracles
3446s of course not exactly famously tanky
3448s ships uh usually they're basically uh
3450s you know a glass Cannon and there's
3453s pretty heavy DPS comp could not break an
3456s oracle uh surely at that point the test
3458s team had to be thinking oh you know what
3460s do you do then in that scenario
3463s in to a degree I can see where it makes
3466s sense that you would try to primary a
3468s high damage and fairly non-tanky ship at
3471s the beginning of the match if you're
3473s able to break through the Reps then
3475s you're clearing both the battle
3477s Cruiser's worth of I guess large gun
3479s damage
3481s um but also you're making sure that
3483s there are fewer ships on the other team
3484s that are able to headshot your smaller
3486s ships
3487s um with application from the hyena
3489s assisting the Oracle you're probably
3491s going to get some decent shots in on
3493s some of those lower end things like the
3495s maguses and you need those for your
3497s links anyway
3498s um failing that they should have just
3500s switched straight to the ineros and
3502s ideally they would have had long-range
3503s webs and some form of rep drone clear
3506s whether that is smart bombs on the
3507s battleships or Ace I was going to say
3511s Stormbreaker but skybreaker is probably
3512s better because it takes up a frigate
3514s slot it's fairly quick and it still
3516s projects projects very far and it also
3518s applies a bit better than Stormbreaker
3519s gun does
3521s um with the small Arc Voltron projector
3524s Thing versus the medium
3526s um it's a mouthful of a name and you
3528s don't need to know because you're not
3529s going to see it much on TQ anyway it's
3530s fine initiative's the only one that
3532s flies it
3533s um
3534s so yeah anyway ideally you would pair
3536s those together with the rapid heavy
3538s missile launchers and they didn't so
3540s they were already starting off on the
3541s wrong foot
3543s uh mod one of the things uh the barcode
3546s did was they brought quite a lot of
3548s medium guns which obviously have decent
3550s range decent tracking decent projection
3554s um you know they brought two exactly
3555s Navy issues which got buffed about a
3557s year ago I believe in the uprising
3558s expansion uh super popular ship now in
3561s tournaments uh you know mobile fast
3563s Tanki High DPS long range pretty good
3565s and then they brought that hyena and a
3567s Confessor as well so it felt like to use
3571s a uh a turn of phrase those logic frags
3574s were not long for this world right from
3575s the very start
3577s um how do you feel about you know
3578s bringing this sort of medium gun setup
3580s against what could quite easily be uh
3582s Logistics triggers
3584s I think it's one of the better options
3585s you have uh as some of the casters have
3589s been mentioning Navy executors got a
3592s recent buff like you were just saying
3594s but they're also Point discounted
3595s because this is a gallante sponsored
3597s tournament and the sheer value that a
3601s pair of those brings for 14 points
3603s you're doing more than Battleship damage
3606s especially with close and ammo and they
3609s bring a lot of Mobility they're very
3612s good at kind of being an intermediate
3614s tackler so you have between your
3617s Confessor your Mueller your high net
3619s those two executors you have five ships
3621s that can really get down on top of
3623s something and really just not let it go
3625s and that's exactly what we saw with
3627s those logic rigs we saw the paints in
3629s the webs of the hyena and then they just
3631s got destroyed by that tracking
3635s yeah and I just want to give a bit of a
3638s call out to one of the logistics
3640s frigates of test one went down pretty
3642s quickly the other one did a pretty
3644s incredible job of positioning himself
3646s around our Casters in the back talking
3648s about it
3649s um you know moving around as a sole
3651s Logistics figure you got to be super
3652s aware of your positioning Mister you've
3655s you've obviously seen this done uh in
3656s various matches uh talk to me about how
3659s important and how hard positioning a
3661s logistics frigid is yeah I've flown
3664s Logistics frigates a fair bit as well
3667s um while I was still playing in the
3669s alliance tournaments alongside Lucas
3671s Khan
3672s um
3673s it's fairly
3675s tricky it depends on the setup you're
3676s going up against I think you need to
3678s identify whether they have ships that
3681s are able to get on top of your Logistics
3683s forgets and do damage first of all
3686s you're thinking about things like speed
3687s pools but then you also need to think
3689s about maulers as well not necessarily as
3691s damage dealers but as ships that will
3693s have newts that will just want to follow
3695s your Logistics frigate around and
3697s basically delete it from the game by
3699s reducing your ability to rep things
3702s when you're being shot in a logistics
3705s frigate you need to also make the
3706s determination whether you can hold under
3709s the Reps from your Logistics frigate
3710s friend or whether you are going to waste
3713s as much time as possible by just burning
3715s away dragging those drones with you
3717s making them switch to longer range ammos
3719s that they have to spend all of that time
3721s trying to kill you or they have to
3723s switch to something else we use that to
3725s great effect and a lot of our alliance
3727s Open matches where I think Lucas
3729s basically died first every time because
3730s his name is recognizable
3732s and I'm a nobody so that's fine and then
3735s they'd switched to me and I'd end up on
3736s the edge of the Arena just dying to some
3738s drones somewhere but that that's all
3740s damage that isn't being done to the rest
3741s of my team while my team is getting to
3744s work killing things so it's just about
3746s clear communication with your Logistics
3748s friend
3749s um and also understanding how much you
3750s could achieve alone on the based on what
3753s your
3754s what the other team has on grid
3757s awesome thank you yeah it's pretty hard
3759s I've done a bit of a logistics for good
3761s piloting and uh you know mainly practice
3763s matches and it is it's pretty intense
3765s you don't have a good line of
3766s communication with uh with your other
3768s partner and yeah the the lack of range
3771s compared to the the tech devices
3773s Cruisers means that positioning becomes
3775s so Giga important all right let's look
3777s at our next match up of the day which is
3780s going to be till Doomsday versus
3781s literally triggered and again this is a
3784s win and in match so let's look at the
3787s bands for this so till doomsday Banning
3790s out the guardian and the Blackbird uh
3793s where it's literally triggered burning
3794s out Blackbird and Nighthawk then we have
3797s trickle bands coming in for the first
3799s time today till doomsday choosing to ban
3801s the curse and literally triggered
3803s Banning out the kitsuni so not there's
3806s gonna be a significant lack of ECM in
3809s this matchup uh moderator what do you
3810s what do you make of these bands here
3813s yeah literally triggered trying to get
3815s rid of the Nighthawk that has been a
3817s core of a lot of these Shield Rush
3819s setups that we've seen in past years but
3821s also saying man I really really hate
3824s getting jammed by
3826s um kind of the these medium point but
3829s very high effective uh ships uh till
3831s doomsday uh again maybe they've seen
3834s something that makes them not want to
3837s see the guardian or Nero system or
3839s common band but a curse is a solid third
3842s band for just all the reasons we've said
3844s throughout the day just how much
3846s tracking disruption and neutralization
3849s up it applies
3851s yeah you must come out anything to add
3853s about these bands here
3857s I I know that we usually favor the
3859s ineros on on the desk whenever we're
3860s talking about the armor T2 Logistics but
3864s I do think the guardian has a fair place
3866s in the online tournament scene it's not
3869s as fast or versatile as the ineris is
3873s because it doesn't have that many mids
3875s so typically we favor the ineros because
3877s it's able to fit in my court drive maybe
3879s an afterburner a cat booster and the
3881s sensor Spirit wants to so it's harder to
3884s jam it's harder to pin down and it can
3887s still rep whereas the guardian has more
3889s rep power and is I think a little bit
3891s tankier than the ineros but it only has
3894s one prop mod and it can only fit the cat
3896s booster or a sense booster typically a
3899s cap booster because you want a rap so it
3902s is more susceptible to jams which is
3903s where you may see the Blackbird band
3905s come in
3907s um you know if you're trying to feel
3909s that right
3911s um I don't really know what it suggests
3912s about the literally triggered it's uh no
3916s sorry the other team uh not literally
3918s triggered till doomsday I believe with
3920s the ones that banned the guardian I
3921s don't know what it suggests about what
3923s they're going to be Fielding because if
3924s they can deal with a Narrows I'd imagine
3926s they can probably deal with the guardian
3927s eventually it would just maybe take
3929s longer so I'd be interested to see what
3931s they come up with
3933s as will I and it looks like just looking
3935s in twitch just now um we have the
3938s predictions are currently being run by
3940s the uh the incredible CCP convict
3943s um so make sure you gamble away your
3945s Twitch points to see if you can win more

4017s them uh two armor Battleship core they
4019s seem to quite like this last year I
4021s think they used a lot of the uh Tempest
4023s fleets but this time they're going for
4024s Vindicator megathorn maybe so pretty
4026s heavy armor call they're backed up with
4027s uh sort of assorted armor smaller that
4030s you tend to expect in this kind of two
4031s armor Battleship setup so I guess
4033s pontifex links hyena carries malam
4035s mawlers so just a lot of evil support in
4037s the low end there
4039s interestingly uh the garden bun they
4042s opted to burn the garden but they still
4043s brought an auger is it like they were
4045s really worried that the guardian would
4046s be filled by the other team but um still
4048s bring the Army and we are off uh The
4051s Vindicator is charging forward while
4055s um the mega chance also come in so they
4057s both teams are setting up for a brawl
4060s yeah immediately tele Merlin and the
4062s mollusk gets absolutely blast out of the
4063s Arena he's gone those smaller stamps are
4065s not going to be happening and the
4066s carries of Hilo is looking pretty soon
4067s to follow
4068s um the one thing I do want to be careful
4070s of for um till doomsday here is lodgy
4073s frigates the Deacon that they've got
4075s um if he gets in range of The Vindicator
4077s the Bindi webs can be absolutely
4078s devastating so they are in fact deciding
4080s to just pump straight through the Bindi
4081s here
4082s um with all the damage while while they
4083s still haven't taken any losses just get
4085s that Bindi off the field stop him
4086s applying those webs and it will help to
4088s stabilize you know anything that's
4090s taking damage and if they can if he has
4091s the ability to swap to the lodge if he
4093s gets to stabilize the logic frigate as
4095s well
4095s it is an interesting choice to go in
4097s with all those prophecy navies and Olga
4099s and the Absolution as they all are
4101s sporting the long range guns this is
4103s what's killing those um dumping ships on
4105s the end of uh eldric and now the hyena
4108s is also taking damage so he's not going
4109s to be long for this world at the moment
4111s they start tracking at the same time uh
4114s The Vindicator is
4116s um taking damage and like he's bleeding
4118s structure right now so I think after
4120s after he dies it will be really
4122s difficult to come back from this
4125s yeah it's excuse me it's uh he's just
4128s getting absolutely pumped right now he's
4130s sat on top of the Megatron Navy's those
4131s two are pumping each other Elias and
4132s lumahan
4134s um but of course you've got the
4135s Absolution you've got the prophecy
4136s navies you've got the organization
4137s they're basically just stationary parked
4139s up at their optimal range just blasting
4140s into this Vindicator and he is going
4142s into hole now and as you say with losing
4143s those webs and the DPS from The
4144s Vindicator it's going to be a big big
4146s loss for the team and obviously the
4147s auger as well of LAX booster is going
4149s down on the Deacon and Thalia basically
4151s untouched and I I really doubt the
4153s ability of literally triggered to
4154s actually deal with the Deacon and Thalia
4156s at all without The Vindicator wheel I
4157s mean they've got webs on the hyena but
4159s it's it's still just not quite enough
4160s when you've got two battleships for your
4162s damage
4163s what would Theology and The Vindicator
4164s anchor of the team basically die at the
4166s same time it's interesting to see that
4168s the auger was actually uh trying to run
4170s away from validation and Confessor and
4172s slowing down and picking up speed so
4174s there was definitely some capacity
4175s problems over there maybe
4177s um it's just well it's just inaugural it
4179s doesn't have much cup and wrapping up
4181s um takes a lot of it they were going to
4183s lose the Crusade that most likely over
4185s here
4186s um on the Doomsday side but I don't
4189s think this is going to matter anyway
4191s yeah that's just a little bit of Solo
4192s pvping in the low end there where you've
4194s got the confesses out uh fighting each
4196s other you've got a swarm of red Bots
4197s over there as well it's just a little
4198s bit of sort of low end fighting but
4199s ultimately it's not going to matter here
4200s because there's just not going to be any
4202s damage left from the top end of the
4204s Megatron Navy here
4205s um
4206s they do lose the mega from Navy but the
4209s L3 one is true to follow in a couple of
4211s seconds now as well as the Ponte well
4213s the thing they could have done anything
4215s better over here
4217s uh I think they needed to get the vindi
4221s onto the lodgy frigates I think if you
4222s leave the logic frigates alive
4224s um it makes the match very very
4225s difficult I think having the hyena webs
4227s to start it off get that initial grab on
4229s one of the logic frigates and then get
4230s rolled up of India put the Bindi web on
4232s it and then just blap it out of the sky
4233s I think you need to do that at the start
4235s because if you leave it until the match
4236s goes on and maybe your Mindy's chunked
4238s and you lose it or it's not you can't
4240s get onto the logic as it's tackled by
4242s something else it just makes it a very
4243s very difficult scenario to come back
4244s from
4245s the same time they did have Armageddon
4248s so I wonder if this arm again how
4249s impactful it was on the uh till
4251s Wednesday side because
4252s um the other both auger and navy and the
4254s deacons and the Confessor they they're
4256s they can be basically Alpha by the heavy
4258s Newt and this is going to make the job
4260s of chasing and shooting and as I say
4262s that Megatron 90 on the LG goes down but
4265s um this loan um again I wonder if it
4267s couldn't have been utilized in a way so
4269s that you can get rid of at least some
4271s DPS so your windy has easier time
4273s tracking and you can actually put him to
4274s work because as you said Baza even the
4277s hyena is not going to be enough to kill
4280s um a deacon wilderman or tenant man
4282s enable that Mega Navy to track and
4284s really apply sdt as the Bindi webs are
4286s something that you cut a unique thing
4288s that you cannot really replicate that
4290s way
4291s yeah I saw a really interesting not to
4293s get two maths nearly like I did last
4294s night but I saw a really interesting
4296s chart the other day that basically
4297s showed like the effects of different
4298s numbers of webs and how they stack upon
4300s each other and it was something like
4301s four normal Tech 2 webs so 60 webs on an
4304s unbonused whole something like that is
4306s the equivalent in terms of tracking
4307s bonus from one vindi web so vindi webs
4310s are insanely powerful and you need to
4311s stop those ships if you're going to try
4313s and kill the Deacon and Thalia the other
4314s thing is the Mala here as well I think
4316s we may have not seen the the newts on
4318s the mallow used to its full potential as
4320s you said with the Armageddon you can
4321s Alpha their cap but they are going to
4322s have cat boosters to just boost it back
4323s up the Mala with the smaller medium new
4326s cycle time is just it's so oppressive if
4328s you can get it on one of the frigates
4329s unfortunately because of this one has a
4331s full rack of heavy pulses so oh yeah
4334s usually I would agree with you but not
4337s in this case
4338s um the Muller has actually taken over
4340s vexor in a couple of years as a choice
4342s to um pick one uh youth Cruiser just
4345s because it's so tanky and has so much
4346s power grid you can fit a full rack of
4348s mediums and don't even sweat it
4350s um the Armageddon is down for electric
4352s side the hyena is sure to follow so um
4356s this is going to be a clean Victory
4358s unfortunately they've lost the um the
4361s Navy Mega themselves on the Crusader but

4490s win this first match like it's you know
4492s up to 10 minutes and then you're
4494s straight into the the main tournament

4498s easier than that like if you win this
4500s match you're doing well otherwise you're
4502s gonna have to sit there and focus uh for
4504s a potentially a couple more days and try
4505s and kill off a couple of like pretty

4509s um would you say 10 minutes but of
4511s course if it gets to the full 10 minutes
4513s and the teams are tied on points and we
4517s get uh one of the more fun things uh
4519s about the alliance tournament that is
4521s reverse time dilation so if the teams
4525s are tied at 10 minutes then what happens
4528s is normally when we hit tie-dye on TQ
4530s everything starts to go slower down to
4531s 10 percent of normal speed which is uh
4534s you know 10 times slower but in the
4536s alliance tournament things get faster uh
4538s the server starts to just like you know
4541s give the hamsters a little bit of red
4543s bill and we send them on their way and
4544s they start running and running and
4546s everything moves faster so when you get
4548s to I think first of all it goes to 200
4550s tie-dye which means everything's
4551s happening twice as fast so your modules
4553s are cycling twice as quickly your ship's
4555s moving twice as quickly uh you know
4557s things burn out twice as quickly and
4559s this keeps ramping up and ramping up and
4561s ramping up to I think
4564s 750 percent uh is the cap which is seven
4568s and a half times faster uh pretty absurd
4572s uh if I'm brutally honest uh mystical
4575s Murray I think we saw last year in the
4576s alliance tournament uh the first first
4578s time dilation match in a long time uh do
4581s you think we'll see any this year

4585s leaning more towards heavy damage comps
4588s I think most teams are comfortable with
4590s just bringing as much damage as possible
4592s to a grid and then not quite brawling it
4595s out because there's a lot of projection
4597s going on in the mirror at the moment but
4599s basically just punching each other in
4600s the face until one of them falls down is
4602s I think the general idea behind most
4605s teams I think the the time that we were
4608s most likely to see time dilation or
4610s reverse time dilation was back in the
4612s marauder Meadow where you could just sit
4614s with Bastion in the middle of the arena
4615s and both teams bring a Marauder and then
4617s you just punch each other in the face
4619s and no one dies until someone runs out
4621s of capisters basically or mismanages a
4624s module in the seven and a half speed
4626s that they get
4627s um I don't think it would be that likely
4629s to see Tyler this this tournament unless
4631s teams decide to start around the edge of
4633s the arena and not do much for the first
4635s eight to nine minutes of the match
4637s yeah that's a good point we used to
4640s allow the Bastion module in Alliance
4642s tournament I if I remember correctly
4644s Alliance tournament 13 was the year of
4646s the marauder there's plenty of times the
4649s match could end with just two Marauders
4651s both in Bastion mode just shooting each
4654s other and it would just start to ramp up
4655s ramp up and eventually go to some sort
4657s of uh tie brick situation at the end of
4659s reverse tie-dye and but I do remember
4661s one extremely exciting moment when
4664s um there was a paladin and a Golem
4667s fighting each other and the the Paladin
4669s was out of range really of the the Golem
4673s and it couldn't really project very well
4674s and they're both wrapping each other the
4677s Paladin comes out of fasting mode starts
4680s immediately
4681s eating quite hard but he turns
4684s aligns towards the the Golem mjds right
4688s on top of him goes back into basti and
4690s wraps himself back up slaps he's heavy
4691s newts on and then starts to slowly
4694s demolish the Golem it was a very
4695s exciting moment uh in what was
4698s essentially a lot of incredibly
4700s painfully boring matches so we banned
4703s the Bastion module uh moderator what do
4706s you think about that is there still a
4707s space former Rodgers without Bastion
4711s [Music]

4713s a lot of the space that has been taken
4716s by what the unbasking Marauders has been
4719s kind of taken over excuse me by some of
4722s the freshly uh buffed uh battleships a
4725s lot of them have gotten a lot better uh
4728s we see some of the tech 2 uh Black Ops
4731s actually taking some of the space and
4734s frankly a lot of the Marauders for the
4737s points just really haven't been worth it
4740s because it means you can bring one maybe
4743s two of them you're jumping all your
4745s points into two ships it can be very
4747s easily guided into track and disrupted
4749s and you often just don't get that much
4753s of value for the points it cost
4757s now let's take a quick uh review back of
4760s the the match that we just saw so that
4762s was still doomsday defeating literally
4764s triggered
4765s um some interesting piloting perhaps on
4767s the literally triggered side that was uh
4769s being noted by some of the casters uh it
4772s looked like we saw uh Misty one chip
4774s just burning Sweden at the start and he
4776s got Shrek pretty hard and then we saw an
4779s Armageddon kind of running around doing
4780s his own thing uh what happened there
4784s well it's hard to know exactly what
4786s happened in the minds of the pilots that
4788s we see on grid but I would say that the
4791s Armageddon wasn't necessarily playing
4793s optimally
4794s um I think Bart pointed out in one of
4796s the the bat channels that the Armageddon
4798s was successfully newting the battle
4800s cruisers on the non-litally triggered
4804s side which was the till doomsday side
4807s there we go but managed to perhaps
4810s misposition himself and then when I
4812s looked over at the Armageddon he was
4814s putting all of his notes on the logic
4815s for it so it wasn't exactly the most
4817s efficient use of his newts
4819s um he did eventually swap to an
4821s Absolution so you know credit where
4823s credit is due he got back to the job at
4825s hand
4826s um I think that the
4829s literally triggered side could have
4831s played better
4833s um they misplayed a lot
4834s um considering the the comp that they
4836s had I think the Vindicator should have
4837s been put to use a lot more with pinning
4840s down some of the smaller ships in
4841s clearing some of the logistics frigates
4842s where possible when they got in range
4844s but also they should have all just kind
4847s of stuck together I think they got
4848s fairly spread out with the augura
4850s burning off into the sunset the follower
4852s carries and eventually out positioning
4854s himself so The Vindicator fell quite low
4856s before he got back into range
4858s yeah it's uh because sometimes be super
4861s easy to almost like Target fixate like
4863s you see your body going down and you
4864s burn after them and then you just end up
4866s in the wrong position uh and then you
4868s know whenever it is swapped back onto
4870s you know perhaps say The Vindicator
4872s you're gonna have to turn around burn
4874s back in and potentially you know
4877s overshoot that way and get yourself in a
4878s spot of bother but you know that's just
4881s something that comes from experience now
4883s I want to talk a little bit about one of
4885s the changes uh from Alliance tournament
4888s previously to this year last tournament
4890s 19 and that is the removal of direct
4893s entry buy-ins so previously in Alliance
4896s tournament uh the you know the number of
4899s direct invites which usually went to
4901s captains this year also they went to
4902s teams directly so truth on the light
4905s wouldn't call Volta and tuskers all but
4908s direct invites by coming top four last
4909s year the remaining 28 slots previously
4912s we would have perhaps had say 16 direct
4915s buy-ins through a silent Plex auction
4917s where you would submit a blind bid of
4919s how many Plex you wanted to pay to get
4921s into those slots and if you you know
4923s were one of the top 16 uh rich people
4925s then you would get in and you would just
4928s go straight into the main tournament and
4929s everyone was very happy if you didn't or
4931s you didn't want to do that then you
4932s could come in through the feeders
4934s this year you can no longer do that uh
4937s flexing the Plex is off the table you
4939s have to come in through this route so it
4941s means that you know if you happen to be
4944s a team of below average Pilots but above
4947s average wealth you can no longer
4949s guarantee yourself straight entry into
4951s the main tournament you have to win at
4955s least one match to get through perhaps
4956s more depending if you drop that first
4958s one so I think this is super exciting I
4960s think the quality of teams 32 teams that
4964s have either got topped for last year
4967s or earn their way into the feeders I
4969s think it's going to be super exciting we
4971s sometimes see these hundreds of zero
4972s matches where one team clearly it just
4974s is stronger than the other I don't think
4977s we're going to see as many of those in
4978s the main tournament all the teams are
4979s going to have some sort of pedigree
4980s super exciting change another Cool
4983s Change Is that previously you would get
4985s 10 skins if you won a match in the main
4988s tournament this year you get 10 skins if
4990s you win a match them in tournament and
4992s if you win a match in the feeders so
4994s even if you go out having lost uh in the
4997s feeders but you've won at least one
4998s match you will still go home with a
5000s couple of these awesome Alliance
5002s tournament Victory skins this year of
5004s course we are sponsored by the galenti

5008s are gold they are glorious mystical
5010s Knights uh wow what do you think of
5013s these skins I mean I am sad that I won't
5016s be receiving any this year necessarily
5019s from any teams because I'm not on any

5024s we've seen come out of the alliance
5025s tournament
5026s um I'm thinking you know contrasting
5028s this against the central skins that we
5030s got where you could barely tell that
5031s there was a Santa skin on it but you
5033s paid term bill for the skin package I
5035s think this one is going to be fairly
5036s clear that you're rocking a tournament
5039s skin and it also applies to a wider
5041s range of ships which I think is really
5043s cool so definitely something that I hope
5045s people will look at perhaps investing in
5048s because it applies to a lot of the Navy
5050s ships not just the mainline ships there
5052s you know the two battleships and
5054s frigates that they usually do
5058s cash injection for for teams that
5061s managed to get them you know 10 of these
5062s it could be worth a good couple of
5064s billion each so if you win a match yeah
5067s your team can go home with between 20
5069s and 30 billion depending uh sometimes
5070s more sometimes less
5072s um Less on occasion of Alliance
5074s tournament 13 when we won skins it was
5076s the first year I think that happened uh
5077s Team I was in our captain Nash cadaver
5079s uh instead of listing them for uh six
5082s billion a pop he accidentally listed
5084s them for 600 million a pope and all 10
5085s sold immediately uh so that was fun uh
5089s so you know if you do win some of these
5090s skins make sure when you list those
5092s Market orders to get your risk you check
5095s where that decimal point is is super
5096s important get the right number of zeros
5098s otherwise you'll be very very sad all

5121s so I think the Le Shack ban is
5125s interesting especially when uh paired
5127s with the curse band I think that the
5129s shack is something that we've seen a
5130s fair bit and I think it's also a ship

5133s dare I say some of the weaker teams will
5136s lean on because it does a lot of damage
5138s in two ships if you bring two of them
5140s and you can build a court around them
5142s um I don't know whether it's necessarily
5144s bandworthy because I think that it is
5146s fairly easy to deal with a Le Shack just
5148s by bringing some of that utility like
5151s tracking disruptors and neutralizers
5153s maybe even ECM or ECM drones to break
5156s spool I do think it's interesting to see
5158s the Nighthawk and the bogus band it
5160s seems like they are looking to prevent
5162s some of the high range damage bursts
5165s that you may get with a bar guest comp
5167s I would say that it's fairly replaceable
5170s with other ships to be honest I don't
5171s think it offers much in the way of
5173s utility outside of a flagship bar guest
5175s because you're not able to fit the
5177s office or tackle on it to get that super
5178s long range scram in this format but it
5182s still does have like a 19 or 20K scram
5184s with I think Tech two links and heat so
5189s it may still be fairly useful at
5191s screening for itself and then I hook his
5193s the standard anti-dps band basically
5196s because it feels the same role as the
5198s sleptner does but it does it a little
5199s bit better with higher damage and a
5201s better tank

5335s white white squall has you know a pretty
5338s standard Affair but look white squall
5340s now realizing the position that they're
5342s in those throwing those they're
5343s thrashing oh yeah they're absolutely
5345s gonna Rush well I say that but then
5347s they're like I don't know and they're a
5350s little hesitant a little shy of this
5351s team from white squall not quite willing
5353s to commit all the way across the Grid at
5355s the same time the team from Nvidia
5358s Gloria comes just kind of hanging out
5360s back here just kind of you know feeling
5362s that little Waters just trying to get to
5364s know them a little bit better
5365s so so other ships that we don't normally
5367s see other than the hugen which both
5369s teams have brought is the Basilisk solo
5372s basilisk in the at what is this yeah
5376s very strange Choice very interesting
5378s choice but so is bringing six pilots in
5380s a material so you know listen we're
5383s we're it's this is like jazz baby we're
5385s just it's all about the song all about
5387s the notes you don't play you know what I
5388s mean I'm very interested to see how this
5390s plays out but right now there's not a
5391s whole lot going on just a little bit uh
5393s just a little bit of feeling here
5395s feeling there testing the waters looks
5397s like the uh Nvidia Gloria come scene
5399s will push a little bit on the hugin I
5401s expect that hugin will have not too much
5403s trouble dealing with that

5427s actually of Jacob Preble and not even
5429s this nightmare uh as the Basilisk had
5432s been uh webbed down by this hugin oh my
5436s almost all the way in to low uh shield
5440s and in towards armor uh I might want to
5442s let's talk a little bit about this
5444s basilisk pick because we don't really
5446s see this a lot in a t why don't we see
5448s the Basilisk in an at other than you
5450s know the commentator from YouTube well
5453s I'll tell you what if you're slow as
5455s hell uh it's just it does not really fit
5457s well I mean this is like this is this
5460s ostensibly looks like a shield kite comp
5463s kind of but maybe going down a rum uh
5467s get drain though yeah I mean if you
5469s trade an exit Navy for the only one of
5471s six ships which happens to be their
5472s lodgy I say it's a pretty decent trade
5474s yeah another on to Jack Oldman and the
5476s hugun so working low end up from white
5481s squall but all these ships are worth a
5483s lot of points or a lot of tech two ships
5485s now they're onto the stork out of the
5486s hugin absolutely melts uh REM great
5489s gidrine is still alive and down goes the
5493s stork so no one has died from white
5494s squall quite yet
5496s and they now have a Claremore a
5499s nightmare and I still can't believe it a
5501s material for my GC but it is melting
5504s right now under these medium guns yeah
5507s large guns from the tornado
5509s you know sometimes you just go into
5512s these things and you're really just
5513s there to have a good time you know what
5514s I mean and and this nightmare of Juan
5516s Madness is having a good time he's
5518s mixing it up he's jiving he's having you
5521s know he's living his best life right in
5523s the middle of their Fleet he was going
5524s after the exec Navy of Rim get dreamed
5526s for a second uh but at the same time his
5528s good friend Alex cardan not having as
5531s good a time very sad situation back
5533s there will die quickly uh because he has
5536s no lodgy and also he's in material
5539s ha
5541s pretty tanky ship as like a fleet ship
5544s or even as like a small gang like you
5547s you know you can go with like AC Max
5550s Zoom past people because you're really
5552s fast yeah you know it's it's kind of fun
5554s tournament setups though we'd never see
5557s the material just because of the pirate
5559s battleships it has the worst bonuses for
5563s at typically if you pick a pirate
5565s battleship in at you need a utility uh
5568s bonus to actually make it worthwhile
5570s that's why they say The Vindicator
5571s that's why in years past we've seen the
5574s rattlesnake and the balgorn right uh
5577s nightmare absolutely getting melted
5578s right now uh that's another one we don't
5580s see a whole lot of but we see more often
5582s just because it has the tracking bonus
5584s yeah but either way the sex act Navy
5586s will stay alive just barely maybe if
5589s Claymore gets on top of them he'll go
5591s down but it doesn't look like it also
5593s Shield Ox Zack navies uh this is
5595s something we saw a little bit yeah this
5597s is something we saw a little bit in the
5598s last tournament but it's not something
5600s you typically associate with that ship
5603s as this Claymore is about to go down
5604s it's going to be a perfect 100-0 for
5607s white squall as soon as the Claymore
5609s Falls and probably the weirdest matchup
5611s of at I have ever commentated yeah very
5615s strange situation you know I'm sure that
5617s our our broadcast team back in the booth
5619s is absolutely uh in a dead panic because
5622s I'm sure half of them are still in the
5623s bathroom not expecting that one to go uh
5626s about three minutes long but you know
5628s what as 18 19 things are gonna get weird

5715s they will be back uh they brought one of
5718s the more unique comps that we've seen

5722s feeders uh but but I always say this
5726s when we see teams bring an on-demand
5728s comp we saw a tester eleven with nine we
5730s saw igc just do it with six uh it's so
5733s easy for teams who can't bring like the
5736s whole 10 to just throw in the towel and
5738s not even bother turning up uh we saw a
5741s couple of teams Singularity Syndicate
5742s for example and uh Prismatic Legion just
5745s pulled out completely I would much
5748s rather see an entertaining match from a
5750s team even if you can't field all 10 it's
5753s you know they've took the time out of
5754s their day to come along and at least
5755s give it a give it a solid shot and I was
5757s I was rooting for that executive Navy
5760s issue I was watching it drop six percent
5761s structure I was like come on baby but
5764s unfortunately
5766s which is uh you know 407 igc was a it
5770s was a valiant effort right with sex
5772s Pilots now mystical might
5775s um
5776s it would seem like coming undermined it
5778s doesn't seem like it would be that bad
5779s really because
5781s um you know you can bring more big ships
5783s right so why did we not see more teams
5787s take less Pilots
5791s like you said it doesn't seem
5793s necessarily that bad when you first
5796s think about how you would distribute uh
5798s distribute sorry your points across
5800s fewer fewer Pilots right fewer people
5803s means you can put more points into each
5805s pilot
5806s um what it doesn't do is allow you to
5808s round out a comp
5810s so while you can put more people into
5812s bigger ships
5814s what you're doing is you're sacrificing
5816s your ability to go out and Tackle you're
5818s sacrificing your ability to have you War
5822s um and you're sacrificing
5824s um the need for the enemy Fleet to
5827s actually spread the evil that it has on
5829s more pilots so they can focus more of
5831s their efforts into the few Pilots that
5833s you do have so if we had seen for
5835s example a tracking disrupter or a couple
5838s tracking disruptors in that previous
5840s match against the nightmare in the
5842s material there would have been less need
5844s for them to spread those tracking
5846s disruptors across any other ship so they
5847s could focus all of their efforts into
5849s those two which means that they are even
5851s more impacted by
5854s um hostile War coming in towards them I
5857s would also say that
5858s having fewer Pilots means that you're
5860s putting more pressure on it the few
5862s Pilots that you do have so you're
5864s expecting them to fulfill more roles
5866s you're expecting them to
5869s um catch more things on grid really when
5871s you have more people you're able to
5873s think about and segment out different
5874s parts of the grid so someone who's
5877s responsible for the tackle Wing can
5878s focus solely on that and help coordinate
5881s efforts whereas if you have fewer people
5883s then you have maybe one person focusing
5886s all of the efforts into tackle which
5887s means that mistakes are easier to come
5889s by and they'll happen more frequently
5891s and that will also contribute to your
5893s team falling apart
5894s and one of the things I wanted to pick
5896s up on there is uh you mentioned that
5898s it's more easy for the other team to
5899s focus uh e more onto onto your ships you
5903s have less other than there's less
5904s targets for them to spread it across
5906s um apparently
5908s um so weapon disruption is something
5910s that is pretty common uh and it's
5913s basically you normally maybe you're
5914s tracking maybe you're shooting in range
5916s and it's super easy to hit something and
5917s an enemy applies either uh tracking
5920s disruption or guidance disruption from
5921s missiles and that can do things like
5923s reduce the range that you're able to
5925s apply to it can make your turret
5927s essentially turn slower by reducing your
5928s tracking speed itself and then take what
5931s is on paper a very high amount of DPS
5934s being applied to a certain Target and
5935s significantly significantly reduce it
5937s when you have less of these uh less
5940s ships like full stop and if the other
5943s team has multiple uh weapon disrupting
5945s ships then they can start stacking these
5948s on you now there is a certain amount of
5949s stacking penalties it doesn't just you
5951s know to her Air Track disruption module
5954s on you isn't the same as you know it's
5957s not 200 is always going to stack to
5959s certain uh reduction every single time
5962s but if you have less targets like you're
5965s going to just slap them all onto the uh
5967s the important ships and more that we saw
5970s igc bringing two not common ships in the
5973s alliance tournament a nightmare and a
5974s mercario
5976s um what they're pretty good chips on TQ
5978s how can we not see them more often on on
5980s the tournament
5982s yeah um like you said uh these are ships
5985s that on Tranquility in a fleet setting
5988s are you know very good when you have a
5990s lot of them you can just kind of throw
5992s them at things and they have a lot of
5993s tank unfortunately
5996s um you have to think about what kind of
5999s utility a nightmare brings uh in these
6003s sort of setups and for how many points
6005s they cost and
6007s by and large teams have just kind of
6009s realized that they're not very good for
6012s how many points it cost like a Macario
6015s is still going to cost you 20 something
6017s points but it doesn't do that much it
6020s has a fall off bonus right it doesn't
6022s have the bonus of like a Vindicator
6024s would have where it's like oh I have a
6026s 90 web that means I can lock something
6028s down and it's never ever moving it's
6031s just about what you get for those points
6033s and how you apply them and unfortunately
6035s certain ships just really aren't there
6038s for the value
6040s yeah um and one final thing on that
6042s match
6043s um it's so common we see an Enderman
6045s comp that it doesn't actually meet the
6047s 100 points so kudos to uh IDC there for
6051s actually managing to use the full
6053s hundred points with with sex Pilots uh
6056s the reason that's important is any point
6057s you don't field essentially are
6059s automatically given to the other team
6061s before the match even starts so you'll
6063s know the score will be zero to zero uh
6065s if you bring say like 95 points another
6067s team will start with a five point
6069s Advantage being that even if no one
6071s kills anything you will still lose
6073s because you are five points down so
6075s getting that full 100 points out of six
6078s ships actually you know pretty pretty
6081s clever
6082s um so let's look at our our next match
6085s now so we're going to see Rusty Hyena's
6088s client go up against whole control so
6090s again we are still in the very much in
6092s the win and in
6093s um moderator uh Russia newsline we've
6096s seen them a few times before uh do you
6099s know much about them
6101s uh I would have to
6103s recall I believe that they made it
6106s actually through feeders last year into
6108s the main event and
6112s they managed to lose to Temples calcif
6115s after fighting their mimitar Brethren
6118s and Alexis and Atari and then uh they
6122s got knocked out by Rook Capell so they
6124s have made top 24 in the past but they've
6127s struggled against uh what is very
6129s unfortunate uh draft in the years past
6132s but on the whole
6133s um you know if you were strong enough to
6135s get out of last year's feeder uh there's
6137s a pretty good chance that you will be
6139s able to do the same this time
6141s yeah I have I have Recollections as well
6143s of Russia Hyena's Clan doing pretty
6145s solid in some of the the smaller player
6147s run tournaments things like the anger
6149s games uh the event T Series I'm sure
6151s they were run back then as well and
6153s they're going up against hold control
6155s um one of the the Wormhole groups
6156s mystical my uh tell us a little bit
6158s about hole control yep they are
6160s definitely one of the Wormhole groups
6163s um so I decided to to ask Mark a few
6166s questions as the CSM member for worm
6169s haulers
6170s um I wanted to get his feedback on whole
6171s control and hit their chances in the
6173s tournament really
6175s um to better understand who I'm going to
6177s put my points on
6178s um in the in the Taylor show that we had
6183s um I believe that they were ranked

6232s Clan and Hall control so Russia hyena is
6235s Banning out the Armageddon Navy issue
6237s and the Nighthawk and Hall control bang
6240s out the Scimitar and the Loki another
6242s Loki ban uh moderator thoughts on these
6244s bands here
6246s so just looking at the bands
6249s um Rusty Hein is not wanting to deal
6251s with that Rush setup
6254s um and whole control not wanting to deal
6256s with kind of a long-range control uh
6259s that the Loki could bring in a shield
6260s comp not wanting to deal with getting
6262s kited and Armageddon Navy issue is not a
6265s bad ban if you just don't want to deal
6267s with a lot of the heavy uh brawling
6269s setups they've been buffed in the last
6271s couple years and they're very good for
6273s the points that they bring
6276s awesome and Misty any further thoughts
6278s here in these these bands
6280s I mean again the Nighthawk one I think
6282s is pretty standard at this point the
6283s Armageddon Navy one is fairly
6285s interesting
6286s um I don't think it's necessarily the
6287s strongest Battleship that you can go up

6292s um I I think that you maybe value some
6294s other ships more with your Banning
6296s strategy I don't think the Armageddon
6298s Navy does anything that cannot be
6300s replaced by another battleship is what
6301s I'm trying to say
6303s um so it's a curious choice I do wonder
6306s if this feeds into perhaps some of the
6308s practices that they've done and there's
6309s merely a reflection of some of the ships
6311s that they have had issues against and

6314s you know a thought about what their
6317s opponent might actually bring in this in

6424s control and uh we've got 22 interesting
6427s comps over here buzzer would you care to
6429s walk us through them yeah so it looks
6431s like both teams have opted for this
6432s fairly similar Shield Rush here I
6433s haven't had a chance to look at the guns
6435s just yet but just looking at the comps I
6436s imagine they are mostly going to be
6438s hands-fitted it does seem hands on one
6439s side here I've yet checked the other
6441s side but just my general Vibe is that
6442s these two teams are going to be pushing
6443s pretty heavily into each other all
6444s controller hold hands that is right
6447s um
6449s alar is already eating in try and catch
6453s something however the hyena is uh
6456s paying attention and he's um and they're
6460s not moving Chrome in the cycling Fleet
6461s is just sat stationary here he needs to
6462s get moving he's 20 seconds 20 seconds
6465s he's got these cruises bearing and the
6468s Australian Navy of table caracal navies
6470s are just charging in here and trying to
6471s grab what they can
6473s um the old spray is taking a lot of
6474s damage on the back end there's a huge
6476s form of drones following that Crow as
6477s well but I'm not sure that's really
6478s necessary the crow not really going
6480s aggressive tackling here Zed motorcycles
6482s has tackled he's not going anywhere and
6484s he's just evaporates probably in the
6486s buffer on it but they trade it for the
6487s Osprey so it's not so bad still however
6490s um let's look at any of those Cruisers
6492s uh Battlegrounds are actually tackled uh
6493s Chrome is tackled man you have to start
6496s moving if you want to kite 15 seconds is
6498s not enough and uh the whole team is
6500s sitting on however they are also
6501s shooting Cold by uh Rogers in the car
6504s called Navy so he's gonna go down as
6506s well hyena is dying pretty quickly those
6509s currencies and molasses at this point
6510s are kind of um redundant we we lost one
6514s hand boat on the side of Hull control
6516s and um however the Cyclone on the rusty
6519s hyena side is going down so this trade
6521s is not so even
6522s yeah I think from this point on
6524s obviously when both lodges are dead it's
6525s just going to devolve into a DPS race
6526s and both teams are just going to be
6527s trying to call the right primaries make
6529s sure they can clear as much DPS as
6530s possible and win that race at the moment
6531s I think whole control might be winning
6533s it of course this year there was their
6535s roster is bolstered by the numbers of
6536s tech evil one obviously a very
6537s experienced pilot coming from the
6538s tuskers
6539s um instead joining whole control this
6541s year and from my experience scrimming
6543s like my own my own experience with uh
6545s hiddenly Village this year having
6547s someone on the team because we've picked
6548s up virion Stone shell respectively FC
6550s having someone on the team who's been
6552s through a tournament cycle who you know
6553s has has permitted themselves heavily to
6555s it before can be really really big asset
6557s for a team to pick up so hopefully that
6559s table can you know have a big impact
6561s going forward for whole control and it
6563s seems like they are on the upper foot in
6564s this match obviously he is going to have
6566s experience in these 10 situations maybe
6567s if someone says you know we need to
6568s shoot something that's that he thinks is
6570s the wrong target maybe he can step in
6572s and say actually in this situation
6573s should be something else maybe you know
6575s he's he's actually just a line member
6577s and he's not calling anything at all who
6578s can possibly know um but for the moment
6580s they do seem to be pretty on target with
6581s their target pool and taking out the
6582s fleet Cyclones those things absolutely
6584s pump damage at the same time though
6586s um now that we are past the initial
6588s scramble the kiting team if they are
6589s fast enough they can maybe try and uh
6592s start applying DPS while the ham team is
6595s bleeding on we've got the CFI running
6597s for the tournament micro jump drive but
6599s I don't think he's going to turn around
6600s in time to not boundary and not get
6603s scrammed by this screeching horde of the
6605s cruises here and there we go there is a
6607s web effect on them already they lose the
6609s character Navy but there is going to be
6610s a couple of guys to take over the
6612s webbing beauty of him too
6613s is burning he's 100 kilometers from the
6615s arena center so it's getting a bit close
6617s to the arena I think he might have broke
6619s he's not read anywhere just yep
6621s obviously he needs to turn he's going up
6623s so I don't think he's going straight out
6624s of the Arena he has managed to escape
6625s and as you say this kite and Compass
6626s they can get away at the moment it does
6627s seem like the Drakes and Drake navies
6629s are just suffering from a lack of speed
6631s here obviously the author is faster Oz
6633s Pro Navy very very quick cycling Fleet
6635s very quick so it's actually proving to
6636s be quite difficult for these handbrakes
6638s to get on top of anything and karab is
6639s slowly going downhill I would not also
6642s put the drones on the models at this
6643s point honestly it's a kind of a waste of
6645s a DPS you can try to bleed through uh
6648s the shields of cyclones or the orifice
6650s or anything really
6652s um this is like 100 DPS per flight so
6655s it's when you when you add up six ships
6657s it's not nothing uh the Drake Navy of
6659s Carib is going down slowly but surely so
6662s Hall control is going to lose one Drake
6663s however Cyclone is again webbed I think
6666s there I don't see the web effect again
6668s so is he Breaking Free
6670s um there's only a NOS effect on him
6672s I think I think the capacitor at this at
6675s this point can be difficult for some of
6677s these Cruisers the austriannavian
6678s character maybe in particular when you
6679s burn around so long with the microorbe
6680s drive on as they have been doing trying
6682s to chase these guys you can end up
6684s pretty starved on cap here and then
6685s obviously in a hand boat when you've
6687s only got like 20 kilometers 30
6688s kilometers range it can be very
6689s difficult to actually do much of
6690s anything if you don't stop in a
6691s reasonable position Nessa does seem to
6693s be going down through Shields here but
6695s they're trading for the Osprey Navy
6697s um maybe he can go maybe he can go if
6700s the cable dies because uh the cable is
6701s only holding the uh the web using his
6704s gnosis right but after that there is
6706s nothing else there is another Drake
6707s trying to box in the Cyclone but uh I
6711s don't know if he will be in time those
6713s drones now they might finish off the
6715s Cyclone even if he tries to burn away
6716s he's picking up speed I'm not sure if
6718s it's going to be uh fast enough though
6720s yeah I haven't said that three more
6722s seconds he could have he could have had
6724s enough residual Health here to get away
6725s but have a look at this place I'm
6727s holding him the Cyclone is taking
6728s absolutely chunks here he's just getting
6730s melted through Cyclone Fleet goes into
6732s hell all Cyclone is still boosting with
6734s his xlasb but he's getting absolutely
6735s melted into armor I'm not sure who's
6737s going to die first but it's still it's
6738s going to be two Drakes against a drank
6740s Navy and an authoris
6742s however arrested hyenas they do have the
6744s advantage even though they have less ehp
6746s and less points as you mentioned the cup
6748s on uh caracal Navy is probably spent at
6750s this time the Drake regular Attack One
6752s Drake and Drake Navy issue are also
6754s chasing the the entire kiting team if
6757s they don't opt to use an mjd Beacon they
6759s might have really hard time chasing and
6761s arthrus Osprey Navy that they can just
6763s stop burning at some point when they're
6765s uncomfortable range and then just keep
6767s regioning
6770s yeah and this Cyclone Fleet is somehow
6772s still living I need to run DPS on him
6776s so he's he's trying his hardest that he
6778s is going to be the swan blue drone
6780s slowly finishing off the acolytes do
6781s take him down so now we're into this 3v3
6783s situation but I think the rusty hyenas
6785s team they are in a better position here
6787s they have a little bit of range and as
6789s we said the capacitor is probably pretty
6790s empty the Drake and the Drake Navy is
6792s sure are quite slow the author of
6793s nonspreneur issue going to be very
6795s difficult to catch here
6797s um four minutes so if they keep on
6799s running then um and the reasoning cup
6801s utilizing mjd beacons they may be able
6803s to uh uh just kite them forever
6807s um the caracal Navy already a lot of
6809s them have a shield
6810s um it's an interesting situation
6812s actually because
6814s um it seems like whole control uh they
6816s banned Loki and um seeing them seeing
6820s the Nighthawk band as well they were
6821s like cool cool bands bro I'm gonna look
6823s at this stuff though and I brought the
6824s ham rush anyways
6826s um however uh they just didn't manage to
6829s uh secure enough targets quickly enough
6831s to like just pin them down and then stop
6833s pounding on them
6835s from how slow the Drake and the Drake
6837s Navy issue are compared to the cycling
6839s Fleet I think that's cycling Fleet of
6841s um what was the name reset was able to
6842s buy so much time burning away and it
6844s took so long for them all to get on top
6846s of him and by the time they were over
6847s there of course they're all out of cap
6848s and they need to burn the other way to
6850s deal with what's left on the rusty
6851s highness team and of course fighting
6852s away the other side of the Arena so I
6855s think both teams they did correct Choice
6856s by utilizing four Cruisers slots to
6858s abuse maximum amount of ehp and DPS per
6862s slot Navy cruises are very Point
6864s efficient uh so I I think like if you're
6867s trying to kite over uh or ham this is
6870s the optimal way to build the comp
6871s however
6873s they fumbled I think on the whole
6875s control side is choosing Drake navies
6877s and just take one Drake Over a cyclone
6880s Fleet Cyclone I think is much better of
6882s a ship honestly it might have my one
6885s less uh mid-slot but brings two links
6887s it's faster pumps the same DPS so I
6890s don't know if they'll have played
6891s anything that it would have been easier
6892s for them to control and secure targets
6895s or for hand pounding but uh
6898s it's there yeah for sure I think the
6901s police Cyclone's insane the nine percent
6903s rate of fire bonus on the hull is just
6905s incredible for the DPS it can pump out
6906s and that is actually one of the ships I
6908s think we're bringing two of them is uh
6910s totally viable it just has so much DPS
6912s it's got these links
6914s so you don't have to lose anything yeah
6915s exactly so really really great choice of
6917s ship there
6919s um and it is I think gonna come down to
6920s a point situation here but we are seeing
6922s the Drake of Hull control
6924s um going down and I think that will
6926s solidify the win for Rusty hyenas I
6928s don't see a way back in this for them
6930s unless the Drake can live and they can
6932s somehow kill off the needles pray the
6933s authorous but they're just so far away
6935s from these two battle Cruisers that
6936s there's not really MGD down towards the
6938s Drake Navy of Rusty hyena so maybe he
6940s will be able to catch that but I'm I'm
6942s not sure if this is too late at this
6945s point and he bumped a little bit he's
6947s bumping off the tournament begin I think
6948s oh this is painful
6950s yeah they all both these strikes all sat
6952s on mjd beacons on opposite corners of
6954s theater you know so you can see here but
6955s I mean that the um Rusty hyenas Clan
6958s team are choosing to burn in towards
6959s humpback ostagia on one of these beacons
6961s and maybe he's gonna mjd somewhere but
6963s eventually it doesn't seem like there's
6965s many options for him here not really as
6967s long as you keep like around 60
6968s kilometers away and he initiates over
6970s here he's going towards the next Beacon
6972s so he's trying to live
6974s and he lands pretty decent position next
6977s to the another Beacon but what the the
6979s Cruisers of Rusty highness can do is
6981s just burn in and start applying damage
6982s again so there isn't really anything
6984s that he can um do to
6986s help him team uh delay the defeat I
6988s think it's sealed at this point buzzer
6990s yeah and we also see these swarm of bots
6992s Following over as well very annoying to
6993s deal with drone control range can always
6995s be uh you know a pesky mechanic
6997s sometimes you know drones they're
6999s supposed to stop shooting at 60
7000s kilometers and then you burn off and
7002s they keep following you and they keep
7003s following you and they keep following
7004s you and you're 120 kilometers away from
7006s the nearest ship and they keep following
7007s you and you just can't stop them and
7009s they're slowly killing you and there is
7010s nothing you can really do about it and I
7012s don't think it's gonna be enough to kill
7013s off Humper castosha but
7015s great
7019s the drones like even the swarm of
7021s acolytes and infiltracers also following
7023s that
7024s um Cyclone Fleet he was so fast and do
7026s the due to the Drone mechanics they were
7029s not always shooting so they were
7030s shooting resetting catching up shooting
7031s resetting catching up and um yeah it's
7034s really funky uh the drones if you are
7036s not using like a drone bonus ship but at
7038s the same time I don't think they should
7039s have put them on them earlier maybe he
7040s would have died faster instead of
7041s killing molasses that are pretty much
7043s meaningless
7045s dies though so
7047s yeah and in the end it is a points
7049s victory for Rusty hyenas Clan 84 to 69
7051s but a very close match up there and two
7053s very similar comps so it's interesting
7055s to see those two teams slightly
7056s different takes on it their ideas on how
7057s they think it should be executed and you
7059s know rusty iron is coming out on top of
7060s the police Cyclones there so let's send
7062s it back to the desk for a bit more

7142s Rusty Hyena's Clan securing themselves a
7144s spot in the last tournament 19 with that
7146s pretty commanding Victory overhaul
7149s control to where indeed controlled and
7152s unfortunately could not pull it back in
7154s this particular instance uh mystical
7157s might at the start of that match we saw
7159s Russell Hayden's Clan kind of at the
7162s pack of foot like they they were you
7164s know sitting still they they weren't
7166s really positioning very well a couple of
7168s early uh headshots from hold control
7171s made it look like whole control was
7172s going to be in a much more commanding
7175s position than the ended up uh you know
7177s resulting in where did that all go wrong
7180s yeah I think a lot of us were surprised
7183s with how Hull control took kind of
7185s charge of the match towards the
7187s beginning
7188s um most of will probably mark
7189s resurrecters because he doubted whole
7191s control so much and you know at the
7194s beginning of the match I assume that
7196s whole control we're gonna win
7197s um they managed to burn most of their
7199s core into the rusty hyenas team
7202s um I assumed that they were going to
7203s spread tackle across the um the battle
7206s cruisers on the whole control sorry uh I
7211s assumed whole control were going to
7212s spread their tackle across the battle
7213s cruises of the rusty hyenas team and
7216s which they failed to do they instead let
7217s the their entire Core Go basically in
7220s favor of killing the basilar switches a
7222s fair deal and it basically evaporated it
7224s died immediately
7226s um but what they did was sacrifice their
7228s opportunity to really pin down the
7230s kiting ships of race the hyenas which
7232s meant that they had to spend the rest of
7234s the match trying to catch up the ships
7235s that were just faster than and had more
7238s range than them and that eventually led
7240s to the collapse of their their ability
7242s to win their match
7244s one of the things that we saw that
7245s differed between those two teams is
7247s rustica's Clan they chose to spend 16
7250s points and bring a basilisk whereas
7252s whole control they spent just nine and
7254s run Osprey the tech one version uh why
7258s would my attention do that
7260s yeah so we see that kind of being like
7262s the trade-off guys do you spend seven
7264s more points on a Tech Two laundry and
7267s get more tank and more rep power or do
7270s you choose to spend that seven other
7272s points between the two of those ships on
7275s something like more powerful
7278s um frigates you know going from a tech
7280s one forget to Tech Two do you upgrade
7282s some of your battle cruises from you
7283s know uh just tech one to you know
7285s faction or even pirate uh things like
7288s that or is kind of the trade-off and
7291s it seemed like whole control was
7293s thinking in this matchup hey we're gonna
7295s put all of these points into making sure
7297s that we can bring uh you know three
7300s drinks two of them Navy one regular uh
7303s cyclone and then they spent a lot of
7305s points kind of on their mid-end double
7307s Navy caracal Offspring Scythe
7311s um kind of wishing maybe they spent a
7313s little bit less points on that mid side
7315s and maybe went for like a couple really
7318s fast frigates that could get on top of
7319s something or even a t3d
7324s awesome and Misty one of the things that
7325s we heard some of the commentators
7326s talking about during that match was
7329s um Navy battle coaches being one of the
7330s more Point efficient choices in the
7332s tournament and then the decision to
7334s bring Drake Navy versus the Cyclone
7336s Fleet what's your thoughts on that
7338s obviously the commentators were
7339s certainly uh leading towards cycling
7342s being a stronger Choice do you agree
7344s with that
7345s I think it's a balance of damage speed
7347s and tank right I think the Drake Navy is
7350s a little bit slower than the Cyclone
7351s Fleet
7352s um depending on the fit that you have
7354s it's not actually that much slower but
7356s it's still like to 300 400 meters a
7358s second slower so over
7361s a longer period of time that difference
7362s does kind of add up
7364s um I guess I would kind of favor the
7367s Cyclone Fleet in a rush setup because it
7369s means that you're going to be doing
7370s damage
7371s uh sooner and for a longer period of
7373s time than you might with a drake Navy
7376s um I think the Drake Navy does more on
7377s paper damage but you need to factor in
7380s the travel time of your ship because you
7381s could you don't really have much travel
7382s time with your missiles which means that
7385s the longer you spend burning after a
7386s ship even if you have higher DPS
7389s that's more time that you are not
7391s putting damage into that ship which is
7393s something that people need to kind of
7394s factor in there is the added benefit
7396s however of bringing a full car diary
7398s lineup which is if you go into an ECM
7401s setup it's unlikely that they're going
7403s to have a full rack of cardari jams
7405s which means that it's harder for the
7407s Hostile team to jam your entire comp out
7409s instead they'd have to pick one or two
7411s ships that they want to focus their
7412s caldari jams on and then the rest of
7415s your ships will probably get an
7415s operational Jam here or there but it's
7418s not likely to break your lock that often
7420s so it makes it a lot easier for you to
7422s focus your damage into a singular Target
7424s because more of you are able to lock at
7426s any one at one period in time so there
7429s are trade-offs to Bringing
7431s um
7431s you know the the kaldari Navy upper end
7435s um but in this case again we saw them
7437s burn into the middle of the rusty eye in
7439s his team there's no reason why they
7440s shouldn't have been able to spread some
7441s scrams and it wouldn't have mattered if
7443s they had Cyclone Fleet issues or direct
7445s navies because Rusty hyenas forgot how
7447s to double click for a bit so it's really
7450s irrelevant
7451s yeah one of the last things I want to
7452s talk about that match is um we saw at
7456s the end the whole control team uh the
7458s two remaining bricks spreading out onto
7459s the micro jump drive beacons in the
7461s arena if you've never played in
7463s tournament match before the arena is 125
7465s kilometers in radius so 250 kilometers
7468s across if you cross that to a 125
7470s kilometer point you will just
7472s immediately explode there is no if
7473s there's no but that is it you are done
7475s uh within the arena there is a cube of
7479s uh micro jump units that are anchored
7481s there at 100 kilometers on each side and
7485s there's also one extra one in the center
7486s of the Arena itself of course they ping
7489s you forward 100 kilometers when you
7490s activate them and you can be bumped with
7493s them and jump yourself out of the Arena
7495s if you're not careful also worth noting
7497s we don't actually allow teams to bring
7500s uh the command Destroyer micro jump
7502s field generator because as much as it
7504s would be Giga hilarious for someone to
7508s manage to uh mjd Bush the entire enemy
7511s team out of the Arena
7513s um or conversely with and just jump
7516s themselves out with arena with no one
7518s um it would also be just probably a
7520s little bit too chaotic so you can bring
7523s your own local micro jump drives fit
7525s onto ships that can support them usually
7526s battleships and battle Cruisers or you
7529s can use those beacons so sometimes we
7531s see teams spread out onto the beacons
7533s when they've lost their logic but
7534s they're up on points and they just need
7536s to not die they'll spread out and then
7538s jump themselves around there when you're
7539s trying as long as possible uh to prolong
7543s everything
7544s all right we have one match before we go
7546s for a short break and this one should be
7549s interesting is high SEC minors versus
7551s templates calcif and the bands for high
7554s set miners are balgart and Blackbird and
7556s they're going up against Tempest Castle
7557s finding out the Le Shack and the bar
7559s guest uh moderator Vargas ban the shack

7565s yeah so uh Bargas has been a classic
7569s band not wanting to deal with kind of
7571s this utility scrim it brings it has that
7574s you know bonus to that range uh various
7576s very powerful rapid heavy missile ship

7584s um whereas balgorn and Blackbird is just
7587s very common standard bands but we're
7589s going to see throughout the prelims here

7594s bands work out for tempus calcif or if
7596s asset miners will be the ones that are
7598s victorious as we head over to the arena

7631s much of recently what are we seeing fear
7633s from our team from temples calcif
7635s uh it's another pseudo dad setup this
7638s time they brought up with Jesus though
7640s so long range scrams as well as uh some
7644s pretty powerful damps alongside T2

7670s gets absolutely destroyed by temples
7673s calcif yeah you gotta get that
7675s transversal up fear yeah a lot of long
7677s range weapons on both these teams uh
7679s these absolutions both those absolutions
7681s do have beams the fact was bucket Badger
7685s also getting just a samote right out the
7688s gate and for no trade I mean they push
7690s the Punisher into half armor the high
7693s signature now they're onto the Gog oh
7694s man this is this is rough that's a lot
7697s of damage being applied so quickly and
7698s no response yet from the theme from high
7700s stick miners they have to have some way
7702s to respond to this I I I'm not sure
7704s what's going on here they're gone for
7706s the Harvey of auroraqual uh right now I
7710s think what's interesting is there's a
7711s bit of a damp war going on but calcifer
7713s winning it pretty heavily this carries
7715s has done absolutely nothing while the
7717s Sleep Jesus is full dams on the mid
7719s slots no scrams whatsoever and we take a
7721s look one two three four five ships
7724s damped out by this uh lachesis with no
7729s other damp ships on their team it's just
7731s impossible for high stuck miners to do
7733s anything they lose their Omen Navy issue
7735s their carries is also going down pretty
7737s quickly as well and even though they're
7740s getting damaged under this heartbringer
7742s he's gotten OG probably the best T1
7744s Cruiser lodgy in the game to keep him up
7747s right now and meanwhile temples calcif
7749s they're just working bottom up they're
7751s on to the first eni of lower waffles
7754s yeah that lakis is absolutely brutal
7756s against these kind of comps that need to
7758s be able to uh you know sort you out from
7762s range
7763s without being able to lock up you're
7765s gonna have to dive and none of these
7767s comps are designed to dive Lawler waffle
7769s in the exec Navy now breaks I it's just
7772s it's staggering how much damage they're
7774s getting out of their I mean a lot of
7777s damage from the team from Temple's
7778s Castle but doesn't seem out of the
7780s ordinary but we're still seeing ships
7781s just get getting almost nearly volleyed
7784s through the majority of their armor and
7786s again here now the second exec Navy
7787s taking a lot of damage as these
7790s absolutions are absolutely burning for
7792s their life trying to find some way to
7794s get away from this damage but it's just
7795s too much
7796s yeah it's just way way way too much
7800s damage now for high stuck miners to deal
7802s with especially without any sort of
7804s logic and while they're all damped out
7806s and the more ships die the more dams you
7808s can put on
7810s everyone else
7811s this is really the power of the laches
7813s versus the celestis uh even though
7816s celestis has better quote unquote better
7818s damps at longer ranges uh the logistics
7821s is just such a powerful ship not one we
7824s see a whole lot of just because of the
7825s amount of points it takes but we can see
7827s this is the impact of a single e-war
7830s ship with five damps on it
7833s five damps on the switches it's just
7837s impossible for heisock miners too
7838s anything really well played from
7840s templates but I can't help but feel like
7842s they won this in draft Yeah tables
7844s Castle needs to be taking different pink
7845s and out to a bar tonight making sure he
7846s does not pay for a single drink because
7848s that one ship not just not to discredit
7851s any of the work done by any of the rest
7853s of the team I'm sure they're all great
7854s Pilots but that one ship being able to
7856s put such oppressive uh lock range newts
7860s on our lock range Nerfs rather across
7863s the entire high-sec minor scene it
7865s didn't matter you know any kind of of
7867s range cop was not going to work it would
7870s have had to have dived early they didn't
7872s respond to it and now we see the last s
7875s start go down and that will do it we're

7951s showing that high SEC minors they may
7953s have had their mining permits they
7954s certainly did not have their PVP permits
7956s as they get swept 100 to zero in that
7960s just overwhelming match there uh pretty
7964s solid performance from templar's calcif
7966s lots of control mystical might uh that
7969s the Jesus there just damping damping
7972s everybody out uh as we look at the The
7974s Mechanics for damping tell us just what
7977s happened there for uh High set miners
7980s yeah absolutely so high SEC mine has
7982s actually brought a fairly good comp to
7985s the grid um I actually expected Thai
7987s minus to be able to win that match
7989s um but what we saw was that the
7991s logistics was just fully damp fit with
7993s armor tank and was able to spread those
7996s damps across the core of the high SEC
7998s miners team and when you're using a
8001s range script in a dampener it's going to
8003s reduce the ability of the ship being
8006s affected by The Damp to lock by like 50
8009s or 60 depending on your bonuses and your
8012s ewall skills
8014s um so because there's a number of core
8017s ships on grid you have to spread those
8018s damps out but as we saw the template
8021s calcif team was able to quickly delete
8023s like three or four ships within the
8025s first minute of the match which means
8027s that they can start focusing their damps
8029s onto a a smaller smaller segment of the
8032s Isaac miners team so really it's just
8035s about preventing the high SEC minus team
8037s from projecting their damage into the
8039s templar's calcif team templates were
8041s able to protect their weaker ships like
8043s the augura and the likesis by by keeping
8046s them back and we saw that
8049s High segment is essentially just wasted
8052s their time shooting at first a Punisher
8053s and then switching to a Harbinger
8056s um which they then did not swap off of
8059s um despite the fact that they were not
8060s breaking it

8106s calcif all secure themselves spots by
8109s winning the first match uh in the
8111s feeders for themselves and going
8113s straight in the The Losers of those
8114s matches go into the rest of the bracket
8116s and they have to win a bunch more before
8118s they can actually guarantee themselves a
8119s spot we have two more of these win and
8122s in matches to go today followed by some
8125s elimination matches uh teams I've
8127s already played they have already lost
8128s they will go up against each other if
8130s they lose those matches they are out so
8132s our next match will be cast about versus
8134s Exodus a match I've been looking forward
8137s to cast about basically formed from
8139s people in the caldari I think kalai
8143s rookie Corp the corpse that you joined
8144s when you make a new character even if
8146s you join another Corp and leave you can
8147s never get back into that Corp so they
8149s play most of the time on TQ exclusively
8151s in that Court never leaving which is
8153s pretty awesome and they tend to put a
8155s team together let's take a quick moment
8157s and look at the balance between cast
8159s about and exodus uh cast about it's
8161s Banning out the bar guest and the curse
8163s and exodus batting at the EOS and the
8166s Nighthawk you might not have joined by
8168s two new people Blackboard pirate and the
8169s Basilisk uh Bart tell me about these
8172s bands
8173s I think this is one of the first times
8175s we've seen the EOS get banned we did see
8177s a team run a drone set up yesterday and
8181s almost maybe possibly do okay except
8184s that they like didn't run it correctly
8186s but it looked like it might have worked
8187s so
8188s um Exodus is kind of uh they've been
8190s doing this for such a long time and
8192s they've always sort of specialized in
8194s the Nano gang capabilities that they
8197s used to be really really well known for
8198s on TQ we've seen time and time again if
8201s you're fighting Exodus you have to be
8203s prepared to fight against kite and uh
8207s traditionally historically drone setups
8209s have been pretty strong against kiting
8211s setups so I could see Exodus saying hey
8213s like let's get rid of the drones um we
8215s haven't really seen them a lot on the
8215s feeders but the feeders is always a
8217s mixed bag of wonderful and interesting
8219s comps that are definitely good maybe
8221s sometimes
8222s and Baza what do you think about uh
8224s these bands here any any comments on
8226s them yeah I I just mirror what BART said
8228s I think EOS is going to be banned a lot
8230s more as we go forward into the
8231s tournament not just in drone setups but
8234s as just a pure links command ship it is
8236s really really strong you can get four
8237s links and you can run all the drones
8239s um obviously not losing any DPS for
8241s doing so so
8243s um yeah really strong armor
8244s battlecruiser I'm surprised that this is
8245s I think the first time we've seen a band
8246s but the other three bands as well
8247s bargest
8249s um just very ubiquitous sort of Rapid
8251s heavy Battleship good and a lot of comp
8253s so yeah I mean four legitimate bands
8255s here I think yeah I mean Burgers I think
8257s is a pretty good band against a team
8259s like Exodus as Bart says they're kind of
8261s known almost as like kaiting kings if
8263s you come across those guys on TQ they're
8265s likely to be somewhere 60 to 70
8267s kilometers away from you uh controlling
8269s you and shooting you from range and they
8271s do it exceptionally well they have some
8273s of the the most high school uh
8275s individual Pilots possibly in uh on TQ I
8279s know csb Swift has a soft spot for Wasa
8282s QC one of the members of uh Exodus and I
8286s do see him on grid so that is he's
8287s flying in a ship that is high skill so I
8290s expect to see uh some interesting
8292s tactics coming from this team but it is
8294s time to head over to the arena for this

8318s cast abouts versus Exodus Exodus have
8321s decided to bring as I believe they are
8325s on the blue side uh a balgorn dual Abba
8329s comp so heavy armor control meanwhile uh
8332s on the red side what do we have Mark
8333s interesting bit of David Goliath action
8336s going here with a triple Bell or the
8337s triple battleships from Exodus we're now
8340s seeing a quad battle cruiser comp coming
8343s from our friends in casabouts with the
8345s astarde Absolution hurricane Fleet and
8348s brutix navy uh along with a handful of
8351s Cruisers and support ships uh right out
8354s the gate we're seeing some action as the
8356s uh the team in red from casabas is you
8359s know kiting away doing their work and
8361s we're starting to see these abaddons and
8362s other battleships start to slowly plot
8365s their way across the the grid uh
8368s abaddon's not well known for their
8370s ability to run down uh kiting fleets
8373s yeah typically not known for that but we
8376s do see quite a few tracking disruptors
8378s uh trying to close the gap coming in
8380s from this arbitrator out of uh Exodus
8384s meanwhile though carries and mollus
8386s first time we're really seeing both of
8388s those in the same comp they've got five
8390s or four or five dams between two of them
8392s currently three ships are being damped
8394s including that arbitrator who had had
8396s the track interceptors out now it's damp
8398s so much that they can't actually do
8399s anything we see Webb's honor this
8401s Absolution right now from the battle
8402s Gordon and he is dipping way low in
8404s armor yeah I don't know why the asterity
8406s is coming back so quickly to lend moral
8409s support I guess the Assad is absolutely
8411s diving into this blob getting right
8413s within those that the swarm of
8415s battleships there in the middle uh down
8416s on top of that balgorn I understand the
8419s Battleground is part of the primary here
8420s and you can see some damage being put
8421s onto that balgorn from a sabotage uh but
8425s again putting your sarde a huge DPS
8428s dealer for your Fleet right in the
8429s middle of this comp is maybe not the
8432s best play here
8433s yeah and accidents were they're known
8435s for bringing kite setups this time
8436s bringing the armor control they got
8437s first ball with the Absolution they're
8438s gonna get this a Saturday down two and
8440s none of their ships have really bled any
8442s armor uh quite yet so this is an early
8444s lead for Exodus that said you still have
8447s a fleet hurricane and natov brutex
8448s double Navy exec uh from the side of
8450s castabouts if they're able to get away
8452s but this Navy exec of Nazca looks to be
8455s the next primary from the side of Exodus
8458s yeah those those abaddons not really
8460s known for their speed but definitely do
8462s are known for their range and those
8465s beams will absolutely Pummel that exec
8466s Navy if you cannot get his transversal
8468s up or get some range away from this he's
8471s in a tough spot and again this is where
8473s those uh the the dams have come in great
8476s help uh for the team from cast about
8477s damping down those abadons forcing them
8480s to you know pick another targets or pick
8482s something closer to them might save the
8484s exec Navy but again he's dipping into
8486s whole nazgath now dropping deep into
8489s Hull trying to get ripped up but it will
8492s not be enough in the exec Navy does go
8494s down
8495s something else to note here this is a
8497s gun battle from the side of Exodus so
8499s they've got uh bonus lasers on the Abba
8502s on blowness lasers on the Bell uh
8504s probably gonna be two newts and a NOS
8506s but uh that long range web has been so
8509s important for them they've got the web
8510s under the enyo now uh trying to get some
8513s of the screen off the field as a sweet
8514s hurricane Navy Brew decks and augur are
8518s also being taken on pretty effectively
8520s they got paint so now another web under
8521s the OG and down he goes yeah I misread
8525s that as well these are pulses on the uh
8529s on these are abaddons and again I mean
8532s same difference you know at this range
8534s it's it's still being able to apply a
8536s ton of damage uh but now this is just a
8538s matter of mopping up the rest of this
8540s cast bass Fleet the brutix Navy of Avon
8543s Farrell in half armor will go down
8545s there's not there's you know there's
8547s nothing left on the on the feel that
8548s could support and and really nothing
8550s left that could break through these
8551s abatons have so much tank you really
8553s need all of your DPS to be able to apply
8555s losing these Saturday early was you know
8557s obviously a problem
8559s um and you know there's just not much
8562s left at this point you're just writing
8564s down waiting for this armor control comp
8566s to uh you know to chew you up
8569s yeah uh Exodus bringing something a
8571s little different than what they're known
8573s for and they execute it very well uh
8575s they end up taking down ananyo a Brooks
8578s Navy issue now they might end up winning
8579s this match 100 to one as they did bring
8582s a 99 Point comp really it's just not
8584s enough DPS left on the table for cast
8586s about to really kill anything and they
8588s just lost in the kite matchup they were
8590s forced in by this arbitrator and then
8592s once they got the dams out they didn't
8593s move out fast enough and they just kept
8595s getting caught by this Bal Gore and dunk
8597s as the hurricane Fleet issue and exodus
8600s moving on to the at
8601s the expected outcome I would assume uh
8604s but still making it a perfect match for
8607s them has to feel pretty good yeah I I
8609s mean Exodus and 80s no no great surprise
8613s there this is a pretty well matched or a
8615s pretty well coached team pretty uh well
8617s experienced team over the last couple of
8619s years they've been uh pretty active in
8621s this uh format uh and yeah I mean again
8625s getting the app or the Absolution early
8627s getting that tackled removing that DPS
8629s and then forcing for some reason they
8632s started to burn back in right into the
8634s middle effectively sign their death
8636s warrant from the word go so uh you know
8639s a clean sweep here for our friends from
8641s Exodus uh you know well played obviously
8643s but some real critical missteps I think
8646s for the team from
8648s asked about so we see the carries making
8650s getting ready to make the uh the the
8653s jump play down here at the very bottom

8750s that spot in Alliance tournament 19 in
8752s August uh cast about uh getting kind of
8755s controlled there by somewhat unexpected
8758s comp from Exodus I feel like every time
8761s we oversee Exodus they no matter what
8763s the matter is they always just kind of
8764s bring uh you know High skill points
8768s kiting uh you know execution comps this
8771s is very different very very anti-classic
8773s Exodus and you know didn't really match
8775s up what we thought they were going to
8776s bring Blackboard pirate what was uh what
8778s was that come from Exodus there
8780s uh it was really really similar to the
8783s old Amar laser Rush that was really
8785s prevalent I would say about 280s ago
8789s um at the time the points were a little
8790s different so people would run like two
8792s or three abaddons at once with pulse
8794s lasers and then throw a bunch of other
8795s uh laser boats like you'd see pulse
8797s oracles and you know sometimes maulers
8800s and it would just do like 8 000 laser
8802s DPS which is a very big number
8804s um I think yesterday I heard one of the
8807s commentators I think it was genton
8808s talking about how every at team needs to
8812s have certain things and one of them is a
8814s minimum of 3000 DPS uh reason behind
8817s that is that's generally accepted to be
8818s the amount that it takes to break
8820s through a logistics pilot uh 8000 is a
8824s significantly larger number than three
8825s thousand
8826s um just to make sure that everyone is
8827s tracking their math skills here The
8830s Exodus team was probably sitting at
8831s about like four to five thousand it was
8834s a little bit different generally we see
8835s these triple Battleship teams be maybe
8839s not so great because that when they
8841s dumped you know almost three-fourths of
8843s their points into three ships but they
8845s did it they flew a really good job and
8847s they still had like 4 000 damage and the
8849s algorithm allowed them to kind of ram in
8851s grab something and then just melt them
8853s down um it was a little bit different
8855s but it was still like really cool and uh
8857s intelligently set up on their part like
8858s hyena Anna balgorn
8861s can't really kite away from a 800 uh
8863s speed Abaddon with that yeah we saw a
8866s castle about to try and just blap that
8869s hyena of water QC really early on
8871s probably a good first Target to try and
8873s go for because if you can hit it hit it
8875s well right at the starter match when you
8877s know people are most vulnerable probably
8879s the closest Reign she was ever going to
8881s be and then you're going to be in a much
8883s stronger position taking those
8884s long-range bonus webs and paints off of
8886s the field uh obviously it didn't happen
8888s uh they they shot them pretty hard
8890s pretty quickly but he managed to get out
8891s and get reps from his buddies in the
8894s lodgy frigates who did a fantastic job
8895s uh keeping everybody alive on The Exodus
8898s team uh shout out of course to
8901s um the cast about pilot who managed to
8903s hit 205 kilometers uh past the Edge of
8906s Glory as we mentioned the boundary is
8908s 125 kilometers if you go past that you
8910s do explode if you can mjd yourself past
8913s that using those beacons uh you can
8915s obviously get a lot further and the
8918s record currently held by Azure and
8919s arrogant from guns foreign Federation is
8923s 231.5 kilometers and he took that from
8927s boundary violation Superior expert
8929s Casper 24 last year and currently is
8933s still holding it is a superb effort 205
8936s I believe uh is the best we've had thus
8939s far in the live stream in 19 so we'll
8940s keep an eye on that particular score of
8943s course it's incredibly important to keep
8945s track of this uh Baza we saw also a
8948s decision there between the two teams
8950s that varied one team bringing magazine
8952s pontifex the other team bringing a
8954s starting Absolution for links what do
8957s you think here about this decision
8958s I think both are totally viable options
8961s I think it all depends on how you're
8962s building the rest of the con I think if
8964s you're running the three battleships
8965s like Exodus one obviously you aren't
8966s going to have the points to index into
8968s command ships
8969s um and I think that obviously plays into
8971s their decision to ban the EOS at the
8972s start because they're saying we aren't
8974s going to use this we know we want to run
8976s three battleships we aren't gonna have
8977s the points to spare for anything else we
8978s think it's a good ship in general so
8979s let's get rid of it and the same for the
8981s night org on the other side the
8982s astarting app so I think if you're
8983s running uh battle cruiser sort of gun
8985s spam comp I think those are totally
8987s viable options as well that just comes
8988s down to what your comp in general is
8990s trying to achieve and what the sort of
8992s optimal way to fit the points in is
8995s awesome and then Bart if you're gonna
8997s pick uh I mean what you're thinking
8999s obviously if you take three battleships
9001s you're probably not gonna have enough
9003s points left to take
9004s um a command Cruiser so you command
9007s battle Crystal sorry so you're gonna
9008s have to probably go down to those
9009s command destroyers do you think it's
9011s worth obviously not for access in this
9013s case they won but in general do you
9015s think it's worth dropping one of those
9016s battleships for getting those stronger
9018s links or the just the power from the
9020s Dual abundance plus the Battleground was
9022s uh you know so much higher
9024s so in general I don't think that a
9026s triple Battleship team is particularly
9029s good but uh we're in the feeders and the
9032s feeder meta is
9033s completely you know wackadoodle random
9036s like you see people show up with six
9037s people for instance which nobody has
9039s ever won since Tinkers weren't a thing
9041s with an underman team like underman
9043s teams don't win for the last probably 10
9045s years now uh you see weird stuff in the
9047s feeders I think that for Exodus
9050s obviously the triple Battleship team
9051s worked but Exodus is a very good team
9054s like they've consistently been I'd say
9056s on average about top eight obviously
9059s sometimes they've done worse sometimes
9060s they've done better but this is a team
9061s that we see do good
9063s every single year for at probably since
9066s at least a T12 at13 so like we're coming
9069s up on a decade of them being a like a
9072s gatekeeper team up into that popcorn and
9076s so you kind of got to look at it from
9078s that perspective right so like yeah
9079s basically triple Battleship they did
9080s good does that make triple Battleship
9081s good that makes this good
9084s um I think we've seen a lot of like
9085s really high DPS uh teams just Crush
9088s these sort of new routines in the
9089s feeders and that's what Exodus is
9091s they're just like hey like what are you
9092s gonna do if we just Ram you and they're
9094s like oh we don't know yeah I feel like
9096s Exodus has been running for a little
9098s longer than just uh around 80 13 or so
9100s I'm sure I have memories of them around
9102s about 18 9 or 10 and they were if I
9105s remember correctly they were heading up
9107s like they were top four a couple of
9108s times even I can't quite remember uh I
9111s think at-10 was ready to collapse who
9113s won and I can't remember if it was
9114s pandemic and they beat uh but usually
9117s your memory doesn't go past first place
9119s very often uh but I'm sure Exodus
9121s certainly have been around for a very
9123s long time uh doing doing cool things and
9126s like you say kind of a gatekeeper uh
9128s these days they I don't think I've seen
9130s them crack even they've been close to
9133s top paid a couple of times they might
9134s have made it in the topic a couple of
9135s times but they certainly haven't cracked
9137s their top four for for quite some time
9139s but they have still
9141s been one of those teams that you know if
9144s you're if you don't have your
9145s together then X this will beat you they
9148s are a very very solid team you cannot
9150s underest it I'm pretty sure even the top
9153s four teams uh each year if you're facing
9155s it because this is a team you have to
9156s take seriously you know uh I'm sure
9159s Hydra when they're playing they aren't
9161s going to just be like oh it's Exodus
9162s it'll be pretty easy they're gonna
9164s they're gonna get them some respect
9165s which is which is you
9167s I actually looked just randomly we've
9170s got like a back end graphic that like
9172s shows all the team's positions over the
9173s years in the tournament I was like let's
9174s just look at Exodus they've been around
9175s for ages and speaking of their record I
9177s found out I think over the last 10 years
9179s their worst finish in the Lions
9181s tournament has been two and two which is
9182s top 16 and I think they got that once
9184s and every other time they've got three
9185s and two four and two five and two they
9187s are for sure a really really good team
9189s I think they're also one of those teams

9212s um it's always cool to see new teams
9213s coming in but it's equally as cool to
9215s see you know these these teams with
9217s great Prestige uh and a long long
9220s history in the alliance tournament uh
9223s you know we'll see some more of them
9224s next weekend we'll see for example
9225s pandemic Legion a five-time winner of
9228s Alliance tournament pandemic Legion
9229s struggled a bit the last couple of years
9231s uh and you know can they turn this uh
9234s this boat around and move themselves
9235s back towards top 16 maybe even top hit

9239s get through the feeders uh but let's

9246s and play and Yeet Pray Love which just
9249s gonna say uh massive fan of that name it

9254s of it so let's look at the bands for for
9255s plug and play versus each pre-love Plug
9258s and Play choosing to ban out the Deacon
9260s and the Nighthawk meanwhile each prelove
9262s Banning out the barges and the curse uh

9267s interesting bands coming from Plug and

9269s yeah I think the the Deacon's a very
9271s interesting band
9273s um I feel that it's it is definitely
9276s like a decantalia is such a it opens up
9279s so many interesting armor setups there
9281s that I can understand why you would take
9282s like that because like you could fly a
9284s Thalia and then like an Inquisitor but
9287s tech one logic frigates are really
9288s really bad
9290s um tattoo laundry forgets are actually
9291s pretty decent the Nighthawk band I'm a
9294s little confused about uh I personally
9297s don't think these ham rushes have been
9298s performing anywhere near as good as they
9301s did maybe two years ago uh it but it is
9304s has always been like this kind of back
9306s pocket team like well what if they ham
9307s Rush us and I can understand you know we
9310s ban the Nighthawk because it's something
9311s that a lot of people are flying and a
9313s lot of people practice and are probably
9314s practicing with I don't think it's a
9315s good team but I get it but yeah the
9317s Deacon is definitely like a that's a
9319s that's an interesting one it's such a
9321s versatile it's not a versatile ship but
9323s it opens up very versatile armor cops
9325s yeah I feel like by Banning out the
9327s Deacon you either force people to like
9329s you say take uh tech one Justice
9331s Cruisers sorry take one Logistics
9333s frigates if they were going that way or
9334s maybe go for
9336s um uh you know twin plenty ones and
9338s taking the point inflation or of course
9340s changing their company trying to fit in
9341s a tech to Logistics Cruiser instead
9343s rather the uh Our Guest is a super
9346s popular uh ship in these sort of high
9349s action economy running around the arena
9351s kiting comps good band do you think yeah
9354s I think so for sure I think as as we get
9357s towards the actual Tournament of course
9358s we'll see a variety of like Flagship
9359s fits I think Argus is likely to be
9361s chosen as a flagship again
9363s um and you can have armor fits you can
9365s have Shield fits Shield kite Shield Rush
9368s um it's pretty versatile it pumps out
9370s more damage than any of the other
9371s battleships like just both in terms of
9373s clearpan in terms of DPS so I mean yeah
9376s I think it's a really good a really good
9377s choice
9378s yeah especially we don't actually have
9382s um flagships in the feeders uh but when
9384s we get to the main tournament the
9385s flagship rule will be in effect again so
9387s you will declare one particular uh
9389s Battleship from a list of specific
9391s eligible ships to be your Flagship uh
9393s and the normal restrictions which are
9395s Tech 2 modules and Below uh not no
9399s longer apply there's an expanded list
9400s you can put on some expensive officer
9402s modules some fancy Dead Space stuff
9405s um you can really you know pimp the hell
9408s out of your your bar guests and if you
9410s think you know the range of a Tech Two
9412s scram versus the range of a really nice
9414s officer one uh put on a bar guest with a
9417s bonus it can be an incredibly powerful
9419s and oppressive ship
9422s um I think we will see a lot of our
9423s guests again this year and they were
9425s popular last year they were super
9426s popular two years ago when of course
9428s there were points discounted Bart do you
9430s have any thoughts on the how the
9431s flagship meta might start to shape up
9433s this year
9434s it's it's weird
9436s um I think Vargas is still probably the
9438s best Flagship just because of all of its
9440s weird strengths which we probably don't
9441s have a lot of time to go into right now

9446s gallante I feel like some people are
9447s probably going to try and do like Navy
9449s Domi flagships I don't think it's gonna
9450s be good but I think the Bargas is still
9452s probably going to end up being the ship

9547s well they've brought double rapid heavy
9549s Armageddon Navy issues and versus The
9552s Shield Rush this is actually the exact
9555s matchup that you prayed love last year
9557s nanofiber tokens took Brave out of the e
9561s t width with dual rabbit heavy army gun
9563s navies versus near because they
9565s uptanked the Armageddon Navy issues
9567s we'll see if cable who was on the brave
9569s team last year can remember what exactly
9571s happened uh to that team last year and
9574s maybe make the adjustments they need to
9576s either way they are going to start
9578s chunking down this armor Gibbon Navy
9579s issue of Chadwick we'll see if these are
9581s as uptanked as they were last year
9582s during the lower bracket of the at and
9584s oh my God the armor is not going away
9587s that fast no it is not but they are the
9590s xerithfulness in the Thalia taking a lot
9593s of damage right now this team from uh
9596s Plug and Play may be thinking that if
9597s they can if they can uh you know push
9599s the other value to have to focus either
9601s on its friend value or the Navy maybe
9603s they could split some attention but that
9605s Chadwick in the Armageddon Navy now I
9607s was slipping down into mid armor Midway
9610s through his armor buffer I don't know
9612s I'm actually not sure about this one the
9614s Sentinel goes down at the same time as a
9616s stabber they opted to go for the stabber
9618s in their dual rapid heavy comps I feel
9620s like that's quite a bit of a mistake
9622s because it's armor to get a Navy issue
9624s with Chadwick he's now down all the way
9626s to 15 armor remaining and these slutners
9629s remembered on Navy issue broadsword
9630s these do a combined like 5000 DPS
9633s between those four ships and they're
9635s almost done with this arm we get a Navy
9637s issue this could be disastrous for you
9639s pray love they're gonna take down this
9640s exit Navy at the very least so they're
9642s gonna lose their last lodgy or at least
9643s one of their Logie in return from the
9645s wolf pack of uh Nano or not now fiber
9648s tokens excuse me plug and play they lose
9650s their arm we got Navy issue and the
9651s majority of the DPS is still online for
9653s Plug and Play they're under the EOS now
9655s yeah and he play Love really does not
9657s have that much DPS left they're burning
9659s through the EOS now of avix tillerin
9662s once that EOS goes down the only DPS of
9664s any note they have left on the grid is
9666s why can't in the Armageddon Navy while
9669s the Plug and Play team still has two
9671s slept nears a Merm Navy and you know the
9674s the two jackdaws which are not nothing
9676s to scoff at this is a disastrous
9678s situation now for the yeah these are
9680s rocket jackdaws too they've been going
9681s in pretty ham at the moment they're
9684s gonna lose their sight Fleet issue which
9686s is a correct Target to be taken down uh
9689s from ye pray love but this EOS is about
9692s to fall and once again they only have
9694s the remaining damage of an Armageddon
9696s Navy uh this vexer Navy issue if I take
9698s a look at it right now does not have any
9701s guns on it so this is a full new vexard
9703s Navy issue uh up against this team from
9706s plug and play as it's EOS goes down this
9709s could just be the match single clip of
9711s Rapid heavy missiles will not kill
9713s anything left on the field from Plug and
9716s Play yeah Plug and Play playing this
9719s very smart once again putting dual
9721s pressure on both the EOS and the Thalia
9724s making the Thalia half the force whether
9725s it's going to get range or way to try
9727s and save itself or the EOS or in this
9730s case probably neither because both are
9732s gonna drop the value now glow low armor
9735s uh he is he's getting wrapped up a
9737s little bit by those by those Bots but
9739s it's not going to be enough
9741s well this Navy is actually going down
9742s pretty quickly at the moment I mean
9745s they've got damage from this arm again
9746s Navy issue and the murder Navy doesn't
9747s really have a whole lot of tank if it's
9749s Shield fit uh which is what we see here
9752s the Osprey has been completely neuted
9753s out by the specs or navy issue and with
9756s that uh this marmadon Navy issue will go
9759s down yeah these slept nears really need
9761s to start paying attention to the next
9762s Navy
9763s Plug and Play effectively has no lodgy
9765s at this point that Osprey is just slow
9767s boating around out there miserable as
9769s hell right now cannot do anything to
9771s affect some kind of response for its
9773s teammates but at the same time now we
9775s see the Armageddon Navy starting to take
9777s damage because both of these we've got
9778s the broadsword tackle right on top of it
9780s and both of the slept nears now are
9781s getting in range and playing full power
9784s from their Auto cannons Into the Dead
9786s Navy just trying to burn it down before
9788s they can do any more damage anywhere
9789s else
9790s and the Jato swap Valley is on a magic
9793s card they're taking him down the half
9795s armor but these dual jackdaws just
9796s haven't been able to actually kill this
9798s logy which has helped uh you pray love
9801s stay in this match Grant you the
9802s nears they don't need the repping from
9805s the Osprey to stay alive they have
9806s xlasbs they have their Shield rep bonus
9809s and so nine reps out of them is all
9811s they're gonna see but the Thalia finally
9812s goes down which frees up these jackdaws
9815s to start killing other things but turo
9817s gorp all the way down to half Shields
9818s right now remember he still has his
9819s xlisb charges but he's got to wrap up a
9822s lot faster this Armageddon Navy issue is
9824s not falling right now yeah and we can
9826s see the Osprey Navy still just hanging

9829s vaccinating chilled out completely out
9831s of new no thoughts in his head cannot do
9834s a single thing while watching Turon gorp
9837s just getting slapped in the face slapped
9840s in the face by these these rapid Heavies
9843s from the dead Navy it's it's it's it's
9844s tough to watch car breaker goes down
9846s Skywalker goes down it's just the
9848s arbitrator that's our Navy and
9850s Armageddon Navy you left on the field
9852s Baxter and everyone's getting full Newt
9854s the armaged Navy issue has heavy needs
9855s of their own they're trying to nude out
9857s the near of cable Utah but once
9858s again cable Utah he's got a xlasb
9861s charges same thing with turo gorp so
9863s they really don't need any sort of
9865s active modules to do what they need to
9866s do on this field this Army got a Navy
9868s issue now down all the way to 56 armor
9872s remaining but we're almost out of xlasb
9874s charges for two or Corp this might
9875s actually be a really close match when it
9878s comes down to it because the only uh DPS
9880s left on the table is going to be the
9881s slept near Broad torque and dual rocket
9883s jackdaws the vexard Navy issue is
9884s finally getting some damage from the
9886s material guards all the way into armor
9887s against one locks after lasp charge off
9890s at the end of this but I don't think
9891s he's going to live tiru gorp he's gonna
9893s go down the lead is still in favor of
9897s Plug and Play at the moment but it's
9899s slowly slipping from their grasp as his
9901s army because maybe you might be able to
9902s survive the remaining damage yate
9905s Prelude still down on points they need
9908s to kill the slept near they absolutely
9909s have to kill this left near cable Utah
9911s who has all these charges left now it's
9913s just a race it's a race between who can
9915s die first cable Utah or Hawaii Kant in
9918s the Armageddon Avion the Armageddon Navy
9920s has the lead here now undying being
9923s closer to death the reaper lingers
9925s around how I kante but again there's a
9928s lot of damn all of us Focus now is on

9936s actually go down here they knocked down
9939s cable uta's team last year from Brave in
9942s the tournament now they're gonna get
9943s knocked down by the combined radicos

9953s last DPS off the table and plug and play
9956s are going to advance to the main
9958s tournament and radicos is currently oh
9962s so clenched right now but he finally
9965s made it into the tournament through a
9967s feeder uh well done to them and plug and
9971s play Nano fiber tokens last year they
9973s had a top eight showing uh beating out
9976s Brave Collective for that spot and so
9979s this year they're gonna have to make
9981s their way in through the rest of the
9983s feeder bracket but I think they're the
9984s strongest team in that lower portion so
9988s good luck to them but Plug and Play they
9992s make it into the main tournament and
9994s they are very happy about that yeah

9998s boy radicos finally finally does not
10001s choke early uh came in with a strong
10003s with a great plan applied it well slept
10006s near so good Auto Cannon slept and

10016s Navy's with the with the might of the
10018s minmatar Republic behind them absolutely

10165s I mean that's that's what a shielders is
10167s supposed to be like I I don't know
10170s um how many people here have watched
10172s enough to understand the exact little
10174s intricacies of the attack bar but uh
10177s it's it's the potential DPS right so
10179s right off the rip when you see these two
10181s teams and you see one of them have an
10182s attack bar that's like a fourth the size
10184s of the other one you can kind of look at
10186s the other team and say oh these guys
10188s have a lot of potential damage and
10191s um you know quick math they probably had
10192s like eight or nine thousand DPS of Auto
10195s cannons which is a very very very very
10197s large amount like we saw ships just
10200s completely melting there uh and that's
10202s actually what we you want to see with
10203s the shield rush like the Minotaur Shield
10205s Rush performed amazing last year
10208s obviously it has a little was able to
10209s get a little better because it was
10210s discounted points but it's still
10212s performing well this year like you know
10214s screw this ham Rush hamrush is silly do
10217s the autocannon rush it's way better it's
10219s way more fun till you go really fast and
10220s then sometimes you blow up quick so
10221s instead of getting these like slow drawn
10224s out like oh we got to take a Nighthawk
10225s down it's like nah just go in with a
10226s stabber going with the Scythe Fleet yeah
10228s maybe you have 30 000 HP but you know at
10230s least you're gonna look cool you do it
10232s you agree with that buzzer you're gonna
10234s look cool while you've got in I'm gonna
10236s be the rare voice of descent and I say I
10238s completely disagree to be honest I think
10239s ham Rush is a far more reliable I I'm
10241s not personally a fan of the AZ sledness
10243s and the rush comps
10245s um in this in this matchup I think it
10246s worked well because they were free to
10247s push in
10249s um at their Leisure as they were and
10250s park up on the Armageddon Navy's and
10252s unleash the damage from those sleptness
10254s um but I think in many match-ups it can
10256s play out a lot differently you get
10258s tackled down by a Confessor or a hyena
10260s or something and it whips you off and
10262s suddenly your 700 800 DPS letting is
10264s only doing 300 because he's had to
10266s switch to barrage and he's 20 kilometers
10267s away from the primary so in that
10269s situation I feel like the hamrush
10271s variant is more reliable you've got a
10273s bit more range to play with and you
10274s don't have to worry about the
10275s intricacies of tracking an optimal range
10276s especially when you come up against
10277s arbitrators and Sentinels you can just
10280s completely your guns
10282s I have been told
10285s um that uh if you Lord hail then thou
10288s shall never fail uh how does that
10291s interact with your Escape well that
10293s sounds that sounds like eating praying
10294s and loving and that didn't go too well
10296s for them so I mean
10298s I get I mean it was uh
10302s the other team um Plug and Play who did
10304s it so I mean you know they they plug and
10306s played they banned the Nighthawk and
10308s plug and played the sleptness in so I
10309s mean props to them for living up to the
10311s name in that regard I suppose
10312s all right you thought you had a you had
10314s a comment I do so the the thing though
10317s to remember is that yeah if like let's
10320s let's say that it happens right somehow
10322s these feeder teams learn how to screen
10324s which they don't know how to do we've
10326s seen this like for literally a decade
10329s that these teams you know generally the
10331s screening is hard it's really hard to
10332s screen a slapner anyways because if they
10335s can actually just swap to you and blow
10336s you up really fast but if you screen a
10338s Nighthawk off 20 kilometers off the
10340s target it also can't actually hit
10343s if you screen a sleptner off 20K off it
10345s can do 300 DPS right so up here's this
10347s barrage you can hit so you know you can
10349s probably apply it 300 damage like 30 to
10351s 40 kilometers pretty easily
10353s um heavy assault missiles there's a spot
10355s where they just they disappear they
10356s fizzle away into space and it's between
10358s 15 to 25 kilometers you know depending
10360s on the ship
10362s um also you know your kinetic lock also
10364s your ship is half the speed like a
10366s slutner can go almost 2.5 k meters a
10369s second like they are fast those stabbers
10371s I you know I didn't actually see its top
10372s speed but I've seen uh Scythe Fleet
10375s issue actually last tournament in the
10377s finals when truth honor light brought a
10379s Minotaur rush and cleaned house in like
10381s two and a half minutes in like the
10383s second to last match we saw a scythe
10385s Fleet issue hit like 5K I got like 5K
10387s yeah oh yeah I'm here so yeah I mean the
10391s Minotaur Rush has always been insane
10393s it's just kind of hard to pull off
10395s because it's a very
10397s um sort of team-wide APM intensive thing
10399s uh heavy assault missiles those are
10402s those are for noobs like they're for
10404s people that are like oh yeah I don't
10405s have to worry about tracking I don't
10407s have to worry about it this is the fetus
10409s fault we should be promoting these ideas
10411s two noobs we should be saying you know
10412s this is the preliminary rounds you need
10413s to be using the noob strats don't go for
10415s this uh Hydra AC rush you know is that
10418s right
10419s oh absolutely it's true
10422s certified excellent all right and also I
10426s believe a uh Flagship feeding enjoyer uh
10428s if I remember correctly from last year
10430s someone's going to the quickest
10431s flagships to get fed it was uh it was uh
10434s very sad I'm not gonna lie what should
10436s have happened I wish I could have seen
10438s it uh your face in person as it's
10440s happening
10442s but we got to we got to hear it because
10443s I think you cast it that much yeah I
10445s think I was molding a little bit but
10446s yeah that's okay
10449s um I want to talk about two other things
10450s that we saw in that last match which uh
10452s we don't see much of thus far obviously
10454s the slept near historically one of the
10455s most popular ships in Alliance
10457s tournament for for a very long time last
10460s so these days with the the the change of
10462s matters but still a solid solid ship
10465s um and there was a lot of talk about him
10466s firing off his xlasb
10468s um Baza what is an xlasb the Excel and
10471s ancillary Shield booster so you can load
10473s it up with cap Chargers you load it up
10475s with navy cap under maybe cat booster
10476s 400s or 800s if you're
10479s Doing It Wrong um because then you get
10481s like four cycles and no benefit
10483s um so you can get nine cycles of you
10485s pump these
10487s just it's just chilled HP on demand it's
10488s just a shield booster nine Cycles off
10490s the nine Cycles it costs a ton so
10492s you probably won't get a 10 cycle unless
10493s you're in a battleship
10495s um but it's like you know it's like a
10497s more efficient Shield extender if you
10498s can fit it you get more HP for the slot
10501s yeah it's always fun to watch a ship
10503s getting shot with them and you see they
10505s tend not to have as much just raw Shield
10506s HP so you see the shield get chunked
10509s down pretty hard then the xlsb fires and
10511s it goes up and as Baza says it tends to
10514s be loaded with around about nine uh
10517s charges so people start counting them to
10520s see uh you know how long can this guy
10522s tank for and of course then if people
10525s shoot you and use five then they switch
10526s off you then end up in that super
10529s awkward situation be like hey do I just
10532s not risk reloading because that takes 60
10534s seconds and keep those four charges or
10536s do I just say hashtag Yolo reload and
10539s hope they don't swap back to me in the
10540s next 60 seconds while I'm stuck be
10543s loading or what's your what's your
10544s thought on that
10546s I think generally you just reload it
10549s like and you send it and you see what
10551s happens you know maybe maybe get like
10552s one or two more charges off to get to
10553s Max shield and then reload it
10555s um we've seen some actual really good
10557s play with sleptner Pilots too that
10559s they'll like burn out of damage range
10561s and then reload and then come back in
10563s which is sort of the ideal situation uh
10566s yeah it's it's really powerful I mean
10568s the yeah slap your insulator Shield
10570s booster will pretty much take a single
10572s battleship's rapid Heavies by itself and
10575s their reloads are close enough that you
10577s know you can get situations like that
10579s where once that uh once that first
10581s getting was down he's like oh this is
10583s over like they won't be able to break
10585s this up there so they don't have enough
10586s damage just because of the mechanics of
10587s the ancillary Shield booster like even
10589s if nothing else happened
10591s they were fine at that point
10594s yeah and uh as Casper 24 points out
10596s sometimes while burning away you can
10598s also just run straight out of the Arena
10599s can't be sure if your ship has exploded
10603s um it's a solid tactic uh I know Casper
10605s deploys that regularly uh I haven't seen
10608s the boundary for a while though but he
10609s used to be just a uh over the boundary
10612s enjoyer regular regular times uh across
10615s across that Edge of Glory uh another
10617s thing that we saw in that last match of
10619s course was broadsword heavy into
10620s detector
10621s don't see them very often around in
10623s tournaments they have a very specific
10625s purpose in a comp like that as a 30
10628s seconds why would you bring something
10630s like a I'm sorry the heckpoint it's a

10684s normal bands until we hit the Vindicator

10690s Vindicator they're not like they're good
10692s ships but they're not as good as
10696s they could be like we saw it used a ton
10698s last year but it was with these like
10699s very specific uh kind of double
10702s Battleship and then really heavy e-ore
10704s teams where having a really heavy DPS
10706s relatively tanky uh 90 web ship was
10709s really good
10711s um we're not seeing a lot of e-word this
10712s year uh whether or not that's because
10714s the feeder teams don't are scared of it
10716s and they don't understand how to use it
10718s or because of the rule changes making it
10720s not as good but the Vindicator
10723s I don't think that's like again that's
10724s not the ship began here right like Evan
10727s of indicator and you can bring a Navy
10728s Mega it's similar uh similar roles
10731s actually significantly less points too
10733s but I did see something
10736s I think it was Baza who actually said it

10740s triggered it doesn't bring an AV Mega

10759s Vindicator and we bring a Navy Mega haha

10762s look the same I mean it's the same

10768s these bands here I mean Kerry's bargain
10770s from test seems pretty pretty sensible
10773s yeah yeah it seems pretty standard here
10775s I mean it's just again generic bands
10777s that you don't want to come up against
10778s if you come up against the belgawn and
10780s you you're in a comp that particularly
10782s suffers from the newts and the web
10783s controller can be just it can make the
10784s match very very difficult from the
10785s outset same for the carries with the
10787s dams it can just in some matchups it can
10789s just make it very unplayable so yeah
10791s just good broadbands
10793s awesome now one of those
10796s um ships that has been banned there uh
10797s that Blackbird we talk about ECM a bunch
10801s of spark can you just run us through as
10802s we look at this graphic explaining ECM
10804s what does ECM how does it work
10807s CM uh it's pretty much the simplest
10810s mechanic in Eve online to actually
10811s understand funnily enough because you
10813s take your sensor strength and you take
10815s your jam strength and you divide one by
10817s the other and that's your percent chance
10819s to get jammed it's actually super super
10820s simple
10822s um obviously you can never 100 chance to
10824s jam and you can have a zero percent
10825s chance to jam but if you get jammed by
10827s ECM uh you as the pilot can only lock
10831s the ship that is jamming you now a long
10834s long time ago I'm gonna say this is
10836s actually like three or four years ago
10837s but for some people that was a long time
10839s for some people
10840s yeah okay six or seven see my brain
10844s doesn't work
10845s um if you're a jam you couldn't do
10846s anything now you can still shoot the
10848s other ship so it was a pretty big Nerf
10850s uh
10851s just because it's like hey we can now
10853s Target the ship jamming us
10855s um but it still prevents you from like
10858s locking anything else and so it's
10859s especially effective against like
10861s Logistics or short-range ships perhaps
10863s Navy Mega that could may or may not show
10865s up uh because if you're being jammed
10868s from 50 kilometers and you have blasters
10869s you're not going to hit it if you're a
10871s logistic ship and you're jammed you
10872s can't rep your friends so it's still
10874s pretty powerful
10875s um we haven't really seen it used
10877s effectively we've actually seen it lose
10879s really hard in the feeder so far uh
10882s thinking of thinking of you whoever was
10884s brave enough to bring three scorpions
10885s yeah nice try it was terrible though
10888s yeah jams used to be like a super solid
10892s meta because you could if you had good
10894s Intel what your opponents were going to
10896s want to bring uh back in the day it was
10898s super common uh well the only way to
10900s practice was to practice on Singularity
10901s and you could do things like spy on
10904s people practicing find out what they
10905s they might like to bring and then you
10908s know take a bit of a Gamble and skew
10909s your jams obviously if you go for uh
10911s multi-spectrals then you get flat bonus
10913s across the board to all the different
10915s racial ships but you have those four
10918s different racial uh jams as well so if
10921s you think hey if I ban them out of say
10923s both good Shield Logistics they're gonna
10925s have to bring armor you can probably
10927s skew into armor Jam so jams did have a
10931s bit of a play and count to play around
10932s it but it is it did become a bit of a
10935s bit of an RNG at times you know roll the
10938s dice sometimes you win we've seen ships
10940s uh the hero Ibis the one point Ibis
10942s which is actually an ECM bonus ship the
10944s rookie ship uh Landing a jam on a
10947s flagship I think it was one time a
10949s couple of years ago uh you know the
10950s chance of that I think people worked out
10952s something like point one percent but the
10955s dice landed exactly right and uh you
10958s know that Flagship got jammed out by
10959s this little tiny Ibis and won the match
10961s we've also seen Brave with a hero
10963s Griffin in a match one time do something
10965s similar Banning out jamming out
10967s something pretty exciting
10969s all right um I see we had a bit of a
10973s delay we had a disconnect from uh one of
10975s our teams so we're just waiting for uh
10978s the teams to get onto grid now I see all
10979s the team members are in system and and
10982s warping into the arena if you've never
10984s been in a tournament match yourself
10985s before uh the way it works it can be
10987s pretty scary you sit in a station
10989s somewhere just chilling out some very
10992s nervous Captain is telling everyone to
10993s double check you have the right ammo
10995s double check you've loaded everything
10997s Etc everyone's getting ready and then
10999s all of a sudden you just get teleported
11001s out of that station that you have staged
11003s in into uh the great void of space where
11006s all your ships are placed very nicely
11008s one next to each other and a line it's a
11010s great option to take some screenshots uh
11012s and you're told hey check your ships
11014s make sure everything's there make sure
11015s everything's working by the refs at that
11017s point you can't warp at all you're
11018s locked in position you cannot move both
11021s teams are way off of discount from each
11022s other opposite side of the system and
11024s they have actually picked one of four
11026s beacons to warp in from the rest will
11028s then unlock working and the T teams are
11030s allowed to work into the arena arrange
11031s of their choice between 0 and 50
11033s kilometers occasionally people do things
11035s like warp to the Sun or warp to 70 or
11038s 100 this is in fact illegal and they get
11041s teleported to zero amongst other
11043s punishments that can happen including
11045s setting their Hull armor and shield to
11047s 50 if it is particularly egregious but
11050s we haven't seen that for for a couple of
11052s years all right so the teams are ready

11086s have brought a a similar but different
11089s triple Battleship setup with two
11091s Armageddon navys and a Hyperion
11094s incredible to see this on the grid uh
11098s you know our boy Wayne that does love
11100s the hype and here we go these teams now
11103s both establishing some some control over
11105s the middle of the match you see them
11106s just kind of testing the waters on the
11108s sides with their uh their battleships
11110s kind of set at range from each other
11111s just putting in some volleys seeing
11113s who's going to break first
11115s these dual Army got an HV issues of test
11117s Alliance please ignore our rapid heavy
11119s fit mismatched with the Hyperion of Ave
11122s American and unfortunately they're up
11124s against an arbitrator which means
11126s missile disruption onto both Armageddon
11128s Navy issues and tracking disruption
11129s under this higher period this is exactly
11132s why you don't miss your go mix your gun
11134s systems because if you're up against
11135s scripted e-war like this you run into
11138s trouble so this arbitrator going to be
11140s the target to watch from the side of
11142s laterally triggered both these teams
11144s getting a little bit of pot shots in on
11146s each other but the Sentinel of literally
11148s triggered Grim of axmorpher goes down
11151s first from Tesla lines please ignore
11154s yeah it's interesting to see how the uh
11157s the the team from test is kind of
11158s situated themselves the the Armageddon
11160s Navy both of the Armageddon navies or
11162s rather one of the armaged Navies has
11163s kind of gone in on the uh on the fleet
11166s from literally triggered by the Hyperion
11168s over here at range is kind of sitting by
11170s itself I'm not quite sure what it's
11172s shooting at it's just it's shooting at
11175s drones I think well it's arbitrator
11177s right now is taking a whole lot of
11179s damage because his armor got Navy issues
11181s with their dual rapid heavy setups do
11183s quite a bit to Cruisers especially Tech
11185s One support Cruisers like we're seeing
11187s from this arbitrator uh they nearly took
11190s down Hilo on the exact Navy he was able
11191s to rep back up but they're up against
11193s dual lodgy Frakes so they might be able
11195s to break through this arbitrator with
11197s the rapid heavy clip and the steakin
11198s antholium might not be able to beat
11199s enough to hold them in place meanwhile
11202s from the side of literally trigger they
11204s don't have a primary right now they're
11205s just sitting around shooting absolutely
11208s no one uh they've got some newts on top
11210s of their Fleet Tempest but otherwise
11212s they just haven't caught anyone and as I
11214s said that there's web grapple on SOL
11215s Darius and the Navy Armageddon that will
11217s be the primary from the side of
11220s literally triggered yeah we're seeing
11222s the Armageddon or rather the arbitrator
11224s now drop that's going to be huge it's
11226s huge for those for those rapid Heavies
11228s uh and now but the team from test
11230s Alliance is going to be able to apply
11231s quite a bit better but this is an
11234s interesting situation there's some there
11236s has to be some damage yeah disconnect
11237s somebody called Shoot the Armageddon
11239s Navy and they're two Armageddon navies
11241s and now we've got split damage that's
11243s that's just that's the mistake you don't
11245s want to make at the same time the test
11247s Alliance team is not making that same
11249s mistake going Whole Hog now on Michael
11252s Rima in the Abaddon uh but I say that
11255s but then again the exec native Gila also
11257s taking some damage on the back they're
11259s trying to flip the lodgy frig uh damage
11262s for the logifrag wrapping power I should
11264s say they have paints on this uh hyena
11267s and it has been helping them out quite a
11269s bit
11270s this exact Navy going down to the rapid
11271s Heavies this is the exact way that you
11274s want to run it when you have dual rapid
11275s heavy because the ABBA is a very tanky
11277s ship they lose their exact Navy issue
11280s and this abaddin of duroc he is not
11282s tackled right now in fact so Darius got
11284s away from the tackle so Durock is
11286s staying alive through these large lasers
11288s I can't believe it Tess is actually
11290s winning a match yeah test Alliance
11293s please ignore in the year 2023 actually
11296s being successful in a match against
11297s another team
11299s incredible to see this fear for the
11301s first time in my life with my own human
11303s eyes I'm glimpsing it but they're doing
11305s it and they're doing it in a convincing
11307s fashion uh duroc has both of the uh the
11310s logic freaks nearby to rep him back up
11312s and the Deacon from literally trigger
11315s drops the only logic they have left is
11317s the Thalia of Jeff mcgeeffrey
11321s uh Jeff mcjoffrey you know he's he's
11325s gonna we're trying to think about that
11326s for a little bit longer it's a great
11327s name meanwhile though Durock finally has
11329s been caught and he is being taken down
11331s very quickly by these triple battleships
11333s we say tests are winning the match right
11335s now but you also have to remember there
11337s is significantly more DPS potential uh
11341s from the side of test for the time being
11343s but once they lose this Army got an AV
11344s issue uh as we see this attack bar
11346s beginning to ramp up from the side of
11349s literally triggered they have three
11351s battleships that don't rely on clip
11354s reloads and they take down this first
11355s Army got a Navy issue they might move on
11357s to the second next and wait save the
11359s Hyperion for lost but their Thalia is
11361s quickly dropping and goes down yeah they
11363s really need to take out one of these
11364s battleships quickly that's a lot of DPS
11366s to put on to Sol Darius and the
11368s Armageddon Navy you can see him now
11370s already right about 60 percent UH 60
11373s armor and dropping fast they need to
11375s counter quickly to be able to at a
11379s certain point they have to get rid of
11380s some of this DPS there's still so much
11381s DPS left on the side of literally
11384s literally triggered that and again
11387s you'll see it right here so Darius
11388s dropping so quickly the value in the
11390s Deacon are not enough to keep it up
11392s yeah they went for this low end which is
11394s what do you need to do with these rapid
11395s heavy comps but completely ignoring the
11397s high ends they just can't kill anyone
11399s right now this Tempest Fleet issue of
11401s Geronimo is currently the primary but
11404s he's sitting at 80 armor remaining to
11406s the 19 from saldarius he is starting to
11409s rep back up I think he got an Ansel
11411s reload in so we'll be able to actually
11412s stay alive for the time being wait a
11414s second they might actually be able to
11416s turn this around he's all the way back
11417s up to 45 armor he got his reload in on
11422s the AAR and now tests are back in the
11426s lead of this match yes I never doubted
11428s you for a second theft Alliance I of
11430s course was once a test Alliance play it
11432s and and I understand the Legacy and
11435s history of test maybe better than local
11438s yeah
11440s knows what's going on oh yeah and test
11443s you know test they finally pull a win
11446s this week after losing TTT and losing
11450s their first match uh they will be able
11453s to at least hold on until next weekend
11456s when they will be playing for uh seeing
11460s who actually uh ends up going into the
11463s glance I gamble but the time being they
11466s have taken down literally triggered in a
11469s what twitch chat thinks is a major upset
11471s 75 to 25 in terms of Channel points and
11475s test Alliance please ignore uh hats off
11479s to you you did very well this match yeah
11481s they did really really well played it
11482s exactly the way they need to like you
11484s said earlier they went through the
11485s bottom they went through the back end
11486s and the lower end of their uh of the
11489s literally triggered I cannot say that

11493s all of that application all that support
11495s and then all they had to do was DPS race
11498s the top end and they it looked sketchy
11501s for a second but man oh man that
11502s Hyperion with the large blasters has so
11505s much potential damage all they had to do
11507s was clear out the the frick logic
11508s there's not much on grid that's gonna be
11510s able to deal with a full face a face
11512s full of hot neutrons like the the
11516s Hyperion can apply
11518s yeah just I mean test Alliance please
11520s ignore I mean they found the reload on
11522s the AAR for saldarius that's what won
11524s them this match because they take down
11526s the Tempest Fleet issue and I want to
11527s come to overall DPS uh the Abba and the
11530s Armageddon Navy have better sustained
11532s DPS just because they're uh aren't
11534s dealing with rapid heavy reloads in fact
11536s neither of those ships have to reload uh
11538s the way that they are running them but
11540s at the same time they can't kill
11541s anything and test Alliance please ignore
11543s I was a dual rap armaged Navy issue
11545s which I didn't think was something
11547s people would run and I assume this being
11549s Tesla's a dual rep Hyperion as well so
11551s uh getting the bait tanks off getting
11553s the AR reloads off really really nice
11556s showing from the top end Pilots of test
11560s Alliance please ignore they're gonna
11561s take down this Magus and maybe the apple
11563s with two minutes remaining in the match

11829s into uh win and in matches and it was
11832s barcode who's triumph over test Alliance

11837s literally triggered into this bracket uh
11840s in video Glory Glory comes got uh
11842s dumpstered essentially by white squall
11845s um and then Rusty Hyena's Clan took a
11847s solid victory over Hull control in a
11849s very exciting match then we saw Tampa's
11851s calsuff uh win and in against High SEC
11854s miners we took a short break and we came
11856s back to see Exodus uh forgo their normal
11859s uh kiting meta and bring a hardcore
11862s armor control comp which they used to
11865s great effect against cast about securing
11867s themselves entry into alliance
11869s tournament 19. plug and play then went
11871s up against ye pray love and one of the
11873s most exciting matches of the day uh Plug
11875s and Play managed to pull it out and send
11878s yeat pray love into the uh the lower
11880s brackets and secure themselves a spot in
11883s uh the main tournament in August finally

11947s really really hoped in the last couple
11949s hours Nvidia Gloria found four more
11951s pilots because six is not a very good
11954s number of people to go into these

11958s struggling with uh you know just sex
11961s Pilots especially with the other team
11962s has the full 10.

11967s you're bringing sex is pretty solid
11969s because that Jesus could probably damp
11971s down your whole team and just you know
11974s the amount of control that would land on
11975s you would be unfathomable with only sex
11978s Pilots so yeah this this is them

11981s a good crack and I so they're on I'm
11983s always appreciative that they're not
11985s teams aren't just pulling out uh I hope
11987s to see some sort of interesting crazy

12085s mjd beacon and they're gonna try to mjd
12087s right on top of igc we're also burning

12102s team they are just sitting on the June
12106s the unit they're turning back around for

12571s the feeders like everybody's showing up
12572s and they're trying which is really
12575s really nice because at the end of the
12576s day it's about spaceship explosions for
12577s everybody to watch right it's I mean to
12580s them it's about winning but for the rest
12581s of us we're here to watch people and you
12584s know say oh that was such a good player
12586s oh wow look how terrible you guys are so
12588s yeah I mean I really appreciate the fact
12590s that they showed up they tried they got
12592s some kills too I mean you know that
12594s could have actually gone a little
12595s differently if they had had like one
12596s more ship I think hold control might

12602s experience is experience uh back in the
12604s olden days before the Thunderdome server

12607s you have to put money in to get into the

12617s um and then you would lose your ships
12620s for real on on TQ you could only fly
12623s what you had the the skill points to fly
12624s so if you were like a Alliance composed
12627s of younger Pilots with less experienced
12628s people that wanted to play they were
12630s kind of relegated into small ships and
12632s probably wouldn't be able to fly them
12633s optimally compared to some people with
12634s you know 150 plus million skill points
12637s whereas here on Thunderdome we have this
12639s fantastic opportunity for teams who want
12642s to give it a go to you know give it a go
12645s there is literally no down inside uh you
12647s get to see yourself on the television uh
12649s you get to uh you know shoot some people
12651s in space and the experience for it's
12653s like to be in a tournament 100 it's
12655s we're in such a healthy state for for
12657s new teams to come in right now I'm I'm
