Game Pass Version Errors & Fixes

After playing Freespace 2 a long time ago, I always wanted a simple but fun space game, and this one checked all the boxes. I really enjoyed the first few hours but then ran into issues after an update that just wasted a day's worth of time to fix. I almost gave up but got it to work again.

For anyone using the Game Pass Version, I just wanted to share the errors I was seeing and what fixed it, in the hope that it helps other fans here.

This one seemed to be due to corrupted files though weirdly reinstalling didn't fix it. But here is what did

1. Go to the installation folder and delete everything except the ES2/Content folder
2. In the Xbox App, go to ES2 > Manage > Files > Fix & Repair
3. It should do a quick update to replace files (~300 MB)

This seemed to be related to the save files.

1. After doing the steps above, the first time you launch the game, you will see a dialog that says syncing data.
2. Hit cancel and wait for the game to start behind the dialog, continuing to sync then.
3. Restart the game
