[2021] Why the pulsing WiFi symbol is bad for Hard of Hearing/Deaf players

For those of you who don't know, this new update released a pulsing WiFi symbol in the bottom right to indicate if one's WiFi connection is poor. The symbol part of it, I like, and think it's a good idea.

The pulsing decision is a bad one.

Many HoH/Deaf people, myself included, tend to use visual cues a lot in day-to-day actions (it's why deaf people are roughly just as likely to be in a car accident as somebody who can hear). The pulsing WiFi symbol is a visual cue, so like all new visual clues, it draws the eye. However, as it's pulsing, it draws the eye every ~2 seconds. Yes, I can try to ignore it, but doing so is tough, like having somebody tap your shoulder the entire time, and I quit my 3rd show post mid-season update due to how distracting the pulsing flash is. If this isn't changed, I'll be much less likely to play in the future.

Stop the pulsing WiFi symbol.
