Main show. It's supposed to be the "anything goes" mode with all games a possibility and the fun comes in never getting the same run twice. So, why has there been a systematic effort to make that less and less the case? I've noticed for the last two weeks or so that I've been able to pretty much always predict the order of rounds in the later stages and so I did a little maths on my FG play today.
Now I will say that the randomness and variety is still there in the first 3 rounds of most Main Show runs but the final two rounds are increasingly becoming a procession of the same old games.
So, today I tallied the following from 18 runs on Main Show
I made the pre-final game 16 times and these were what I got
Hoopsie Legends 7 times (44%)
Wall Guys 5 times (31%)
Tail Tag 2 times (13%)
Fruit Chute 1 time (6%)
Block Party 1 time (6%)
Any team game 0 times (0%)
So, getting to a pre-final today has meant a 75% chance of getting Hoopsie Legends or Wall Guys. 75% ! In a game mode that's supposed to be all about the variety of runs, 3/4 pre finals have been boiled down to two games.
Now I will tack on to the end the fact that of the 10 finals I made it to, 60% were Jump Showdown with the other 3 finals sharing the 40% between them, which is also a bit BS but obviously it's not as mathematically sound as the pre-final numbers because if I had made more finals I would likely have seen more variety but if we take RF out of the picture because of it's rarity, I still don't feel like the other 3 finals come up 33.3% of the time each.
This also isn't just a random snapshot of data from a random day, I think anyone who plays a lot will confirm this tallies with their experience of playing the game lately as well.
Is this something that's going to be addressed in the update next week? Ironically with fewer maps, season 1 seemed to give more variable runs than we're seeing now.
