We've pushed a config update live to fix team sizes being uneven. Because of the nature of this change we're slightly shooting in the dark, so it would be great to get feedback on the following.
Namely:

  1. Are you still seeing uneven team sizes being selected?
  2. How does the round flow feel now that this change is live? Are there certain rounds you're now never seeing/seeing more than you were before?

Thanks all!

The people working on hacking are not the same people fixing team sizes! We're doing both, don't worry.

Do you know how many players were ultimately in the round of Fall Ball? It's possible that a player from the previous round hadn't connected, and so the 15 player Fall Ball possibly got selected with less than 15 players.

Why the hate for team games? :(

I’m actually sad that yesterday’s update has resulted in significantly less team games for me. I don’t want uneven teams for sure, but I don’t want the team games to disappear... I know a ton of people hate them but I really love the team games.

Before you say team games have no skill, I vehemently disagree. Sure you can get stuck with a bad team, but your contributions are very important to the outcome. It also changes up the speed of the game in a very welcome way versus only solo games, and that change of pace makes the whole game more fun overall in my opinion.

I’d hazard a guess that qualify more than 80% of the time from all team games (including Fall Ball). It’s easy to blame others for losing on team games, but if you’re good enough it’s not too hard to be a major factor for your team!

That said, don’t try to “carry” and be a hero - see what your team is/isn’t doing and fill the gaps, no more no less. Your role will and should change virtually every team game as you work out an impromptu role for your team. That keeps team games far more fresh than any other type of game in my opinion.

((So this next bit is going to sound very arrogant and obnoxious. I truly don’t mean it that way but I completely understand if it upsets people for coming off like that.))

This comes from a person that’s won 120 crowns (103 on my account and 17 on my sister’s account so she could get the skins she wanted) and has the platinum trophy on PS4. I play -a lot- of Fall Guys both by myself and with my siblings whom I can’t see in person as I’m still in strict quarantine.

I’m on furlough from my job (I work in college study abroad and absolutely agree that we shouldn’t be sending students abroad right now, just a sucky situation). I also have to maintain strict quarantine until a vaccine is out as my partner has multiple sclerosis and take immune-suppressants, so if they catch COVID it would likely be fatal for them. These two things got me extraordinarily depressed.

However, the utter wholesomeness and silliness of Fall Guys coupled with the ability to play with family of all ages really resonated with me and is keeping me sane as I await my return to work. Team games and the zaniness attached to them are a big part of that for us. So I’m really hoping that there will be an update that simultaneously eliminates uneven teams without lessening their appearance frequency in the game.

Hey! Thanks for the thorough write up! It's looking like this has nerfed team games harder than we intended. After the bank holiday we'll likely be bumping their weightings back up.

I feel like if the first round elimination amounts were tweaked to favor numbers divisible by 3 or 4 (36, 39, 40, 42, etc) instead of always a raw percentage, the team games would jump back into the mix rather naturally.

Good idea this!
