Yeah, this is looking like it's going to be a rough launch. Lots of tweaks made, lots of people are going to get annoyed, and none of us can play right now.
But seriously, this game was released in August. And this is already Season 3. I can't imagine the crunch that the team at Mediatonic is going through just to get everything in place for you beans every 60 days. The fact that they had to hire a ton of people to support this game doesn't surprise me either.
Give them the few hours to make this season playable. Be patient as they work through more bugs as they come along. These are humans just trying to maintain a cheery, fun game for this awesome community.
It's the holiday season, so let's be positive for once, hmm?
