Hey!

So we've chatted and the sentiment on removing the level entirely is split within the community, so we aren't doing that for now.

Importantly, progress on the crown grab fix:

For Season 2.5, we thought we'd deployed a fix that would help a large portion of these errors, but it really didn't do that for us. We've been working hard on a fix for this and explored many options, but ultimately, we're going to be deploying a change in Season 3 that separates the mechanic for grabbing the crown from the rest of the grabs. I am not very literate with game mechanics, but I hope that makes sense.

This should fix instances like this one - however, some misses will 100% be down to lag. Those situations won't be fixed - most often we see it when two players grab at almost the same time. We're working on improving visibility of your connection in-game to indicate when a player is experiencing high latency.

If it was changed to be the first person to touch the crown the level would be functionally the same and no one would notice the difference. People trying to grab would still win if they got to it first and people that missed the grab for whatever reason (bug or otherwise) would now get a win. The devs are clinging to this idea of grabbing the crown so much they are willing to make an entirely new mechanic to support one broken part of one level.

Totally valid suggestion, and I just discussed with the team to understand their perspective there. We're open to this, but we want to deploy the fix in progress first before exploring alternative endings :).

Since you brought it up, I sincerely hope fixing the desync is one of your top priorities right now. Yes, every online game will have some degree of latency, but this game is by far the worst I’ve ever seen.

We get a lot of feedback on it and it's something we do take seriously, but it is a difficult one. I've not spoken about it recently with the team so next time we chat about it I'll come back here to let you know what's up.

Slightly related question, why can’t we grab the crown while diving? We can grab tails while diving and it’s an extremely useful technique for grabbing ledges in Wall Guys. All of the previous experience we have with grabbing indicates it should work but all of a sudden you get to a final and dive grabbing is actively bad.
