So I haven't played Fallout 76 since 2019, recently got back into it and thought I should buy the Fallout 1st membership because why the hell not. So of course my stupid ass, having not read or been updated on anything Fallout related since 2019, automatically assumed that everything was interchangeable between PC versions of the same game. I went to Bethesda's website, clicked to buy the annual membership, and then chose what I thought was a billing option through Steam (because I already had Steam credit). Spoiler alert: It wasn't just a billing option. Pretty stupid in hindsight, but now here I am.

After panicking a little because Steam doesn't allow me to refund the annual membership and Bethesda only lets you transfer from them to Steam, I read a lot of stuff on both Reddit and the forums and am starting to believe that besides having to download Fallout 76 through Steam, I'm not really as screwed as I thought I was. After all, my accounts have been linked since last year, and even if I can't use Bethesda Atoms while playing through Steam, I can just use my atoms from Bethesda to buy stuff there, and the items will be there when I log in through Steam. I wanted to know if I'm missing anything? Like if my Legendary Race progress will be saved?

You can file a support ticket here if you'd like!
If not, your progress will carry over between the two platforms. Your atoms, however, will stay on bethesda.net but your Fallout 1st atoms will show on steam. Hope that makes sense!
