Update: How to do it. I'm still not 100% sure what causes the ability to travel so far. I'm thinking the Bird Bones is needed. No strange in numbers necessary.

You need a jet packed chassis. You set up this trap, crouch on it, trigger it. When it flings you, you press Y or whatever respective jetpack button your platform has. Drain your entire AP jet packing. Then you can keep pulsing the jetpack as your AP refreshes while midair. Causes a floating skywalk, similar to the old bird bones strange in numbers glitch. But different, because the trap sends you in ONE DIRECTION. You cannot deviate left or right. So aim the trap carefully.
