I was sitting in my base by Whitespring station and I heard a kid asking another player if he had a gun he could have. I immediately figured it was a beggar, but I went over to find a level 9 wearing chunks of wood armor and his vault suit. He offered the guy his last 27 caps for some pump action shotgun, but the guy told him he wanted 100. I told him to come over to my base and made him a decked out handmade with 1776 rounds(Happy 4th of July), and a pipe pistol he could use until he hit level 15. He immediately starts trying to give it all back because he feels guilty. He said he didn't know he could scroll up in the pip boy and find more of his unbroken guns. Then I gave him 50 diluted stimpaks and 50 diluted rad aways and he wouldn't pick them up he just kept saying it was too much. Finally he grabbed them and I had him trade me a bullet for 1k caps. He asked if I had gearsso I gave him 100 of them and he said he needed them for his base. I added him to a team and went to his base and decked it out with everything he would need plus lots of turrets. Then he asked about power armor. I took him to Graham's mining and we unlocked the excavator power armor and he got his first power armor chassis. He was PUMPED. After that I had to go for a bit and told him I would be back later. I went to my base and AFKed for a bit so I could clear some stuff from vending machines while I was gone. He stayed in my team and the wholesome moment started that made everything I gave to him worthwhile. He started yelling for his mom. "Mom come here quick! Hurry! Close your eyes! I just met the coolest guy, he gave me weapons, power armor, even 1k caps. Okay open your eyes!" She apparently plays the game because she started explaining how to fix guns and clean out his inventory. There was so much more to this with all his reactions to different monsters. It was great. I had a blast and this will stick with me for a long time. I always help out new players, and moments like that make it all worth it.
