[2023] Sign up crash - can't log in

I can't log into the game. Screen freezes during sign up screen, I can't even make it to the main menu. Had this happening since I installed the game for the first time in May, but it used to just fix itself by restarting the game a few times. But now I've restarted like 10 times, no success.

I've read this is a long known issue, but haven't found any conclusive fixes. Can anyone help me?
