19s location and the people of Atlantic City

56s super busy day to be interrogated I mean
59s interviewed about the new and exciting
61s things coming to Atlantic City so let's
63s just jump right into things we know the
65s lore we know the people and the location
67s of Atlantic City can you tell us
69s anything about the new enemies that we
71s can expect to go toe-to-toe against
72s absolutely this time around we have the
75s overgrown the overgrown are a natural
78s threat to Atlantic City and they usually
80s travel in these mysterious packs we
83s don't know too much about them they take
84s over bodies a little scary they are
86s incentive and their only goal is to
88s spread out and cover the world with
90s plant life secondly we also have the
92s Jersey doubles coming into play here so
95s New Jersey of course you're going to run
96s into a couple new Cryptids here the
98s Jersey Devil is running around running
100s rampant looking around for some lesser
102s doubles with the overgrown being a brand
105s new enemy group that we've never seen in
107s a Fallout franchise before what were the
109s unique challenges that you face setting
111s them apart from other enemies that our
113s player base has already encountered this
115s time around we wanted them to be a
116s little more dependent on one another and
118s have a very collaborative sort of attack
120s style so one of the challenges that we
123s faced was to kind of alter the existing
125s AI behavior in order to get certain
127s variants of the pack to go and heal
130s other overgrown so that's some new AI
132s that you're going to see in there which
133s really changes up the gameplay in
135s addition to having kind of focused AI on
138s just debuffing the player so yeah lots
141s of new behaviors there do you have any
143s strategies for us in battling these
145s enemies with the overgrown as creatures
147s they really like the pylon in the attack
149s what I would do specifically is always
151s keep looking over your shoulder because
153s you never know where they're going to
155s come from they may take you by surprise
156s Keep Your Head on a swivel definitely so

161s so much
165s contemporate this into into two separate
167s releases so can you tell us how that
168s impacts the new Cryptids that we'll run
170s into so the moment we knew that we were
173s visiting Atlantic City the first thing
175s that we thought of was the Jersey demo
176s that was just a given right there but we
178s wanted to break this down into something
180s that was fun for the player and engaging
183s so when we first visit Atlantic City
185s we're going to encounter a lesser
187s version or a lesser devil which is a
190s smaller devil that hunts and packs it's
192s very intimidating and can be more more
195s sneaky they will come like Raptors from
197s the sides in at you
199s foreign
200s so we wanted an encounter that
203s exemplified what a devil was but it
206s wasn't the Jersey Devil yet the Jersey
208s Devil however we will encounter at
211s another instance or visit to Atlantic
214s City but as opposed to being an
217s expedition we will probably encounter
218s the Jersey Devil in the main quest line
220s as the big bad boss and the Jersey Devil
223s is just intimidating I mean the name
225s just really implies it all right there
227s it is a devil it's just scary mean fiery
231s red with fire in its eyes he lives up to
233s his name he's definitely unique as far
235s as our enemies go I have already
239s player bases super excited to see him in
242s game the Jersey Devil has always been
243s one of the top requested Cryptids from
245s our community to join 76 so we are very
248s excited for that so now that we know
250s what kind of threats that we can expect
252s to run into what about the rewards that
255s we get for surviving uh let me tell you
258s we've been hard at work yeah you have
260s been heard we have been hard at work to
262s really assess the reward pools what
264s players are kind of trending towards and
266s what they really want out of their
267s rewards here so we have three missions
270s that are jam-packed with rewards we're
272s looking at interactable casino games
274s that you can play at your Camp so you
276s can go spend some caps and maybe earn
278s some Caps or set up your own little
279s areas there and you can also play with
281s them in Atlantic City while you are
283s earning them through the Expedition so
285s we have those in addition to a whole
286s bunch of Casino themed skins with light
290s ups and emissives we have plushies of
293s course are gonna be there you can earn
294s them in game along with some that you
296s can buy in the shop but we do have a
298s jersey double plush that you can earn
299s and
300s a new armor it's been a very long time
303s but we are coming in with a new base
305s armor that you can earn and equip and it
307s will give you a set bonus so Stephanie
310s this year we have seen a huge amount of
313s quality of life updates from weapon
315s description updates to free cam while
317s building what other changes will come to
319s the game with Atlantic City yes I'm
321s excited to share a few Camp quality of
323s life updates we've been working on to
325s bring more quality to your lives so free
327s cam and camps has already made a splash
329s for our Builder Community it empowers
331s the way you build camps and now we want
333s to use it to enrich the way you share
335s camps so with this update you'll be able
336s to enter free cam in photo mode while in
339s your camps so we can't wait to see your
341s cats from a bird's eye view with all
342s your filters frames poses and of course
345s it's untethered from the character it
347s will have its smooth cinematic controls
349s move through Camp object Collision so
351s you can create media of your Camp to
352s show it off in its best light I know at
354s least 10 of our community members who
357s are big into the role play side of
358s things that will be so excited to see
361s the free cam in video form it's going to
363s really Elevate the content that they
365s create in the role play stories yes we
368s love seeing all the community camps and
369s we can't wait to see them in this new
371s way we'll make a huge difference so the
373s second feature we are adding in this
375s patch the ability to control the weather
377s to create the best light for your camps
379s weather forecasts all over Appalachia
381s are predicting 100 chance of not raining
383s out your meat wheat cookout unless you
385s want it to you will be able to build new
387s weather station objects in your Camp to
389s generate your choice of weather within
391s your build area for everyone to enjoy so
393s if it's looking too sunny and Blissful
395s for a winter wonderland Camp you can
397s challenge your overcrowded power grids
399s with the snowstorm your choice of
400s weather can really complete the
402s aesthetic for your Camp builds we're
403s really excited to see this both in
405s images and a living artwork in
407s Appalachia that's going to completely
408s Elevate the camp building game I don't
410s know about you guys but I always make
412s the scariest looking camps that I
413s possibly can and if it's sunny it just
416s ruins the vibe it needs to be rainy I
418s need rad storms everywhere and snow
421s every year every year our community
423s wants us to add snow to the game so
425s there you go seriously though if you're
428s building a Halloween camp and it's
429s bright and sunny it just doesn't work so
430s a weather system is perfect some of my
433s favorite submissions from the community
434s have been the ones with dark dark drama
437s and you just can't
438s let in the game you can only see it in
440s images so now I'm excited to be seeing
442s it live this is a question for all three
444s of you go ahead and take your time on

448s personal favorite addition to the
450s Atlantic City update let's start with

453s I would have to say the showstopper
456s shotgun it's super cool very casino-like
464s it definitely gives me that fun casino
466s theme very upbeat and happy what about
468s you Christian for me I actually have two
471s things and one is the Jersey Devil
473s because I have been living with the
474s Jersey Devil now for the past several
476s months I know this creature very very
478s well every single motion move everything
480s that it it's supposed to do I'm right
483s there in addition to the Jersey Devil
484s one of my favorite additions for
486s Atlantic City is a foundation for what
488s Atlantic City really is and that's the
490s addition of the casino my goodness we've
492s been talking about adding a casino to
494s the game for years this was famously
496s something that we added to game Jam over
499s five years ago one of the famous
500s Bethesda game Studio game jams was
502s created that way so now that we're
504s finally able to implement a casino to
507s the game I've been able to go in and
508s help create animations for every single
511s slot machine roulette table horse racing
513s game anything that you would have in a
515s regular Casino we have there available
517s for us to play right now so that means
519s you can make it so my character wins
521s every time right now you're just gonna
523s ruin it for me now aren't you luck of
525s the draw it's all about the chance
528s how are you Stephanie what do you think
530s well I'm the Jersey Devil's biggest fan
532s he is the coolest enemy he really fits
534s with the environment and it's really
536s this whole moment that you get to
537s experience when you come across him any
540s of you have any fun behind the scenes
542s stories to share because I'm sure you've
544s got something with the animations for
545s the Jersey Devil yeah as we were going
547s through the concepting stage trying to
549s figure out what this was gonna look like
551s what what it was gonna do we were going
553s back and forth is it going to run around
554s on all fours is it gonna run around on
556s on two legs and so I was literally back
558s here in front of the camera with the
560s whole team watching just running around
562s acting like a wild man because we were
565s trying maybe it runs like this and then
567s I get feedback maybe it runs like this
569s or it attacks like this and so once we
572s made a fool of ourselves enough then we
574s were able to really kind of zero in and
577s dial in on what this thing actually
578s looks like and does and we ended on
580s something that's terrifying you had some
583s other people joining in there too like
585s the designers started off and they were
587s like no I think it should be yes and
589s once you start acting in front of the
591s camera it becomes infectious everyone
593s joins in Jay Stephanie did you guys have
596s any fun
599s double running with the Jersey Devil per
601s se I don't think anything really amounts
604s to that but on my off hours I put anime
606s eyes on the creatures
609s just really make emojis out of them you
612s have Jersey Devil Pink Cheeks and
615s sparkles
620s we have a lot of fun with Camp building
623s and in general behind the scenes I will
625s say the mallard duck Camp object is near
627s and dear to our hearts so I'll be
629s looking for that in all of your camps so
631s the last question that I have for all of
633s you today I know you're very busy so I
635s want to let you get back to your work
636s day and stop gabbing your ear off but
638s this is a very very important one that
640s all of our community is just up in arms
642s about so once you think very carefully
