[2020] Suddenly can't boot up the game?

I've been playing FFXIV with no problems for a while. Suddenly when I go to boot it up it says Unsupported 16 bit application: contact the software vendor to ask if a 64-bit compatible Windows version is available. I updated my driver today and that's it. I have Nvidia GTX 970. Does anyone have any ideas?

Obviously we can't provide support for third party issues, but NVIDIA recently announced that they would stop supporting 32-bit versions of Windows, which may have something to do with it. As /u/vlorsutes suggested, it might be a good idea to look for the last working version of the driver. Hope that works out for you!
