[2021] Can someone explain Player Numbers to me (PS4, XB, PC/Steam)

I only play on PC in EU Region. If i install the game every 6 months or so, i am always confronted with very limited player numbers - i literally play FH only against bots with the players that are found. According to Steam stats there are over 3k at any time (which is still much) but i never get connected in 5-10 minutes.
Is this similar on consoles?

For players who are having issues getting into games in a timely manner, I've been directing them to the For Honor Reddit just in case they're interested in using it to play with a team that communicates/is friendly. Feel free to check it out if you're interested.

Keep in mind that queue times can vary depending on which region you're playing in and what game mode/time you're queuing.
