Following feedback from Space Age: Jupiter Moon and the Forge 10th Anniversary event, we wanted to address some concerns that have been raised.
Particularly, we wanted to address some feedback we have been receiving in terms of the prevalence of technical issues, as well as frustrations expressed that community feedback was not acted upon.
Firstly, regarding technical issues, we certainly understand that this caused some frustration. Ultimately, we want players to enjoy their time on BETA. However, it is important to mention that BETA is a testing server, and one we use to improve the quality of events or features before they go live.
Events and features within Forge of Empire are a large undertaking that requires considerable resources in terms of time, planning, and staff. And for good reason, they are core to the Forge of Empires experience.
Throughout development, we do detailed testing, and we do our very best to find and resolve matters internally. However, it is not always possible to cover all bases and plan for the type of issues that come up during a live environment.
For this reason, having a live testing environment with a loyal and experienced community is instrumental. Your feedback is vital. It helps us catch technical issues as they happen and plan fixes. More than that, it provides us with great feedback to help us improve continually.
With your feedback, we also wanted to provide some more insight. Every week, we collect comments from feedback threads and the development team discusses them at length. As you can appreciate, the feedback comes in all shapes and forms, and there are clear feedback points that are easy to apply and others we need to consider further.
For instance, with how we do event balancing, we need to consider how to make the event a fun challenge that will maintain interest throughout its run-time. Moreover, we also need to consider the wider balancing of the game over the long term.
That means certain adjustments to balancing will not always translate to the immediate feedback we have been provided.
We want to assure you that we are very much listening, and we would encourage you to continue providing detailed feedback. However, please keep in mind, that it is not always possible for us to apply all of it.
I hope this at least addresses partially the concerns you have raised. As a primary goal of ours, we would like to improve transparency, and therefore, we would like you to get involved in the discussion.
Please let us know your thoughts in the feedback thread.
Thank you as always for being the great community you are!
Sincerely,
Your Forge team.
