0s | Hello everyone! |
---|---|
1s | And welcome to our new video about Guild Expedition Level 5! |
6s | If you haven't heard about this feature yet make sure to check out |
9s | the short teaser we prepared a few weeks ago for the Beta release of the feature. |
13s | And today we'll take a deeper dive into the mechanics of the |
17s | feature and tell you about its development. |
19s | But before we begin, please subscribe to this channel |
22s | to never miss any news about Forge of Empires! |
29s | My name is Nastia. |
31s | I'm Community Management Specialist for Forge of Empires and today I'm joined here by Karl, |
37s | who is our Product Manager, and he participated in creating the new Guild Expedition level for you. |
42s | Hi Karl! |
43s | Hi Nastia! |
44s | Okay, first off, congratulations on launching the new level. |
48s | I know it was a challenging project and you wanted |
51s | to bring something brand-new to the game, is that right? |
53s | Yes, thank you, first of all! |
56s | We wanted to bring new content |
57s | to the endgame players which are super invested in their Guilds. |
61s | And we know that Guild Expedition is important for a lot of players, but especially for this group. |
65s | Yeah, for sure! |
66s | And it must have been pretty challenging to come |
69s | up with something new for them with a new challenge. |
72s | Is that why you decided to create defensive encounters instead of the offensive ones? |
77s | Yeah, pretty much. |
78s | The Guild Expedition Level 5 is the first top tier feature in the game which uses |
83s | the Defensive Army Boosts instead of the Attacking Army like the rest of the game. |
86s | Could you tell us a bit more about how it works exactly? |
90s | So, is it going to be anything like the City Defenders Army? |
94s | So, will players have to select units specifically to participate in the Guild Expedition? |
99s | No, the encounters will work exactly like you're used to, |
102s | but in the end you just use the Defensive Army Boosts here. |
106s | As you can see, you select as normal, and then your army uses the Defensive Army Boosts, |
111s | and the formerly Defending Army will now use the Attacking Army Boosts. |
115s | You can check your Defensive Army Boost in the Town Hall. |
118s | But many players will have now a low Defense Boost, because normally they don't even need it. |
124s | So right now, everyone cares about the attack bonus. |
128s | Yeah, we expected that. |
130s | Actually, it was also intended to use this Defensive Army Boost now, |
135s | because we feel like it's currently underutilized in the game and with |
139s | Guild Expedition we want to have a way to promote it more now. |
143s | And this is just the first step in this direction. |
146s | It's going to take some time until players balance out their Defense Bonus, right? |
150s | Does Guild Expedition Level 5 offer any ways to make it easier for players? |
156s | It does! |
157s | We created Fortification for that purpose. |
159s | So, Fortifications are little building structures that you can build on each encounter in the Guild |
165s | Expedition, and they offer Boosts, like an increase in Attack Boost, for example. |
169s | Okay cool! |
170s | And are those Fortifications only for yourself or for the whole Guild? |
175s | And what is going to be the cost? |
176s | Fortifications are individual for each player and encounter. |
180s | The costs will be Goods, and they will also depend on the encounter and the player age. |
185s | The players can also shuffle the costs for a small Diamond investment. |
190s | Okay, that's cool! |
191s | Are Fortification only useful if you want to fight your way out of an encounter? |
195s | I saw that you still can negotiate like you always do. |
198s | Yes, you can still negotiate and Fortifications will also be useful there. |
203s | We added two for that. |
204s | And the first one will reduce the number of Goods you need, |
208s | and the second one the number of choices you need to make. |
210s | Yeahy awesome! |
212s | Karl, that is all great, but you know that our players are most interested in rewards! |
219s | So, can you tell us a bit more about that? |
222s | Of course, we added quite a few, so I would suggest we focus on two of them. |
227s | The first one is the Forgotten Temple, and the second the Feathered Serpent. |
231s | So, can you tell us about the Forgotten Temple? |
235s | Yeah, this is a limited building with very strong bonuses. |
238s | It will provide you with Attack and Defense Boosts and Forge Points. |
242s | It is a limited building, so it will expire after a month and turn into the Decoration afterwards. |
248s | But how do you get it exactly? |
250s | It is intended to be hard to get. |
252s | Players can obtain Fragments by winning the big encounters on the Guild Expedition and |
258s | the number of Fragments you get increases with each number of the big encounters. |
263s | Basically, the logic is if you win the Guild Expedition every week, |
266s | you can have this building permanently. |
269s | And if you can't, then it will just take more time until you get the full building. |
273s | Sweet! |
274s | But in my personal opinion the Temple doesn't look nearly as badass as the Serpent! |
281s | Why didn't you make the Serpent the main reward then? |
284s | It looks so cool!? |
285s | We initially wanted to focus on the Serpent actually, but with the idea of the limited |
290s | building and the Serpent being a Chain Building... this didn't really match. |
294s | The Serpent on the other hand is permanent, and also gives quite some nice customization options, |
300s | deciding on the elements that you put there. |
302s | It also gives Forge Points and Defensive Boosts for the Defending and Attacking Army. |
309s | So, you can basically boost up the bonuses by adding more |
312s | segments to the Serpent as often as you win the Guild Expedition. |
315s | Yeah! |
316s | And is the Serpent also built with Fragments? |
319s | Yes, it is! |
320s | Both the Serpent Head and the Chain Fragments, which are fins and scales, |
325s | are built with Fragments, and you get them the same way like the Temple Fragments. |
330s | Okay, I think we're done with the rewards. |
332s | I mean mean not all of them, but let's leave our players some room to test it |
338s | in the game and actually see it for themselves. |
340s | Thank you very much Karl for joining today and telling us about the feature! |
344s | My pleasure! |
345s | Quick reminder, Guild Expedition Level 5 is available right now on live servers, |
349s | so feel free to check it out! |
350s | Awesome! |
351s | And please join our official Facebook group and |
354s | let us know what you think about the new addition to the Guild Expedition! |
358s | Bye! Bye! |
