[2022] v20.40 Update - Now Live

Downtime for v20.40 has ended and Sideways Showdown week has begun!

From now until next Tuesday — the Sideways Rifle and Sideways Minigun are out of the vault and bring a set of new quests to earn some extra XP.

Time to vote! Funding stations have been set up for the next round of voting – Shield Bubbles or Balloons?

Along with the new additions to the game come a couple of quality improvements:

• Latency Reductions for Playstation 5 and Xbox Series X|S
• V-Bucks purchased on Playstation join the Fortnite Shared Wallet.

Competitors,Downtime for v20.40 has ended.

• Arena Fill has been enabled.
• The Sideways Showdown unvaults are not included in competitive playlists.
• The winner of the Shield Bubbles vs. Balloons vote will not be unvaulted in competitive playlists.
• The remaining IO vehicles have been removed from competitive playlists. ICYMI: Vehicles and fire have been removed from competitive playlists to improve server performance.
• The primary fire of Siege Cannons has been disabled only in competitive playlists, but you can still launch yourself with the alternate fire feature.

Early heads up that the Scurvy Shoals Ventures Season will be making its last plunder on June 20 at 8 PM ET, giving ye’ plenty of time to collect ye’ treasure!
