I’m a college student with high functioning autism. I struggle with finding hobbies and ways to express myself, especially with the demands of college. I’m a girl with sometimes “boyish” hobbies so making friends is kind of hard. I downloaded Fortnite this past March and I’ve been hooked every since.

I know this seems silly because it’s a video game but Fortnite has really improved my life. It’s finally something that I can enjoy as I really love fictional worlds with tons of lore. I don’t have the attention span to watch tv shows and fortnite is just the perfect amount of repetitive hand motions that it allows me to “stim” (a repetitive behavior done by those with Autism when they are over sensitive and starting to enter a meltdown, such as flapping or rocking) in a non-harmful and fun way.

I took my hardest semester yet and got a 4.0! I couldn’t have done it without Fortnite “calming me down” during a potential meltdown or sensory episode. I don’t think I’ve ever been as excited as I was this morning when the trailer with Agent Jonsey started playing.

Thank you Epic for everything you to do to make the Fortnite universe come to life :)

That’s incredible, congrats on the 4.0. Your story is inspiring and I can’t tell you how excited the Fortnite team is to hear it.

Thanks for playing... enjoy the new season!
