On the story of 'The Battle for Lion's Arch'.

Need to complete a certain number of events/kill enemies, and the progress bar goes up.

I get about 4/5th of the way through, and get the popup the map is unpopulated and asks if I wish to move to a new instance. I do.

Goodbye story progress! Now I have to do that all over again.

Now I know some of you are going to say "so what?" or "why switch then?"

This is something that should:

  1. Either be warned about
  2. Not reset the progress

And the events are group-specific. If I didn't switch, I would have struggled and clearly the instance had emptied out.

Not everybody has time to do the same mission several times. I wanted to make progress on the mission between work projects and wrap up 'Battle for Lion's Arch' chapter today. Turns out I can't due to flawed game design.

This quest step isn't intended to reset progress under any circumstance; I'll investigate.

  • Edit - I've confirmed that this isn't working as designed (similar quest steps from Season 1 do not reset) and the bug is tracked internally. This is a side effect of BFLA's setup, so it may not be a fix I can rush in but it's in the pipeline.
